Us, Sebastopol natives, have all been coming here since we were little kids. I love that I now get to bring my kids here too. It hasn't changed, it's still just as good as ever. It's one of the best little local gems Sebastopol has to offer. They've been around since 1979!! The only thing I will say is, it's a little inconsistent, sometimes my bagels have lots of cream cheese, which I love and then sometimes there's not enough cream cheese... I am sure it depends on who is making it. With that said, I'm still never disappointed and they still get 5 stars in my book! Everything I get from here is delicious. Get there early because all the good cheesy bagels are always gone in the afternoon. They also have decent Boba milk teas and Vietnamese coffee, which I was surprised to find out! Yum! Love this place. Their bagels are ALWAYS fresh and delish. Staff always polite and efficient. I would, however love if they could offer a washroom, and if would post prices for their goodies that sit on the counter. (I mean, it's nicer to not have to ask the price). This is absolutely my go-to place for bagels in Sonoma County. I have been to other Grateful Bagel locations that are not nearly as good, but this place is the original. Other GB's seem to be run differently and have a different menu. The Grateful Bagel in Sebastopol may be a very small place, and not have a public restroom, but it serves up some delicious bagels and breakfast sandwiches. They also have some decent pastries, but that's not the reason to come here. The Loxy Lady is my favorite bagel sandwich with smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers and onions. My daughter is a huge fan of a cinnamon raisin bagel with peanut butter and jelly, and my wife likes their every bagels with cream cheese. The bagels are fluffy on the inside and nice and crisp on the outside. The staff here is very friendly and while the inside can get very cozy they make the bagels quickly. Once you get your bagels you can eat on their patio. This is a great, local establishment. I'm not sure what's with their other locations, but this place is awesome! read more

They never have enough pizza bagels. I have been to the one in santa Rosa and Sebastopol they are always out of pizza bagles. They have places to sit, but no where to wash your hands or use the restroom. read more

Hit and miss. Sometimes it's good and sometimes is eh. Burnt bagels are the worse. I think the berry smoothie is super yummy, but doesn't taste the same every time. Veggies are fresh and great quality which I love. One day old bagels are excellent. Service is always good. Quick and out of there. I think cost is on the higher end. Bagels are pretty good, but seem thinner than others I've had. The staff is super nice, but getting a sandwich on the weekend takes awhile. Take away cream cheese could be better--tasted like Philadelphia. Bagels-to-go is your best bet since it's the quickest way to grab something on the weekend. read more

If we could get one of these in Reno, I would be one happy gal! My husband and I came in here on our way home from Bodega Bay. We were looking for something quick to eat on the cheaper side, and this place had great reviews. The shop itself was easy to find and had plenty of parking. There was no inside seating, but they did have some tables/benches on the patio (it was raining so we weren't going to stay that day). The staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful in making suggestions. I kept it simple with a bacon, egg, and cheese on a salt bagel. I am not even joking when I tell you that this was probably the best breakfast bagel I've ever had. It was full of flavor, the salted bagel just enhanced everything. The eggs were cooked perfectly! I could eat this daily! My husband ordered the salmon/lox bagel (though I can't remember which flavor bagel he chose), but it was also absolutely delicious! 10/10, highly recommend if you're in the area to come grab a bagel! read more

Stopped while driving through. Positives: seemed well stocked with various bagels. Not sure about the sweets - muffins tightly wrapped in plastic sitting on the counter and sad looking bakery display cases at barely mid-morning - poorly arranged and untidy like the staff behind counter didn't care Negatives: price you are charged is HIGHER than what is advertised on the board - by at least 12%. I doubt it's nefarious but it's definitely an annoyance when the price you see isn't the price you pay. Bought an item and it rang up higher than advertised. When I pointed it out, the answer was a shrug and a response of "that's what it rings up at" - no "oops" or "sorry" or anything of the kind. Not expecting a lengthy apology but that sadly confirms my overall impression - indifferent service - from order taking to actually handing over the items. Either the place is woefully understaffed or this place encourages a "we don't really need your business" attitude among its staff. read more
