Just a banh mi sandwich opinion, eaten in the place. While the banh mi size is a bit bigger than those made at other Santa Rosa Vietnamese places, the flavor and bread / fillings texture is less pleasing. Bread closely resembles the rolls made by Franco-American, rather chewy and dense. My BBQ pork had a slice or two that was burnt to a crisp. Had another slice that was a giant string of sinew. Can't complain about the amount of meat, though, a generous portion was crammed in the roll. The jalapenos were spicy, the cilantro, carrot slaw nice and crisp. Want a word one description of the sandwich? Indelicate. Banh mi at Golden bun (https://www.yelp.com/biz/golden-bun-santa-rosa-2) downtown is a more delicate and fragrant choice and it is $2 cheaper. 2.5 I'd say. This is strictly for the banh mi. The staff here is friendly, food comes out in a timely manner. No vegetarian banh mi option, you can add egg. I had ordered the five spice chicken and the BBQ lemongrass pork banh mi to try things out. The price is high in comparison. The amount of ingredients is too much for the bread that's used though and can end up breaking at the seams. Lots of cilantro, and carrots with one slice of pickled cucumber somewhere in there for both sammiches. The cilantro seemed a little old and imparted little flavor. Way too much carrots. The ingredients are pretty imbalanced so it makes for kind of crappy bites throughout. Since there's so much you just have to bite the top and the bottom immediately after to get everything. The pork used was pretty tasty, had a good sweet flavor to it but nothing of lemongrass.The chicken had no flavor really whatsoever. I work like 1 minute from here, so go here all the time. Great for busy days where you can barely make it out if the office. My two favorites are the Shangri lox bagel and the five spice chicken bahn mi. The Shangri lox is a little spendy, but really hits the spot and gets the day started right. The bahn mi is pretty darn good. They really got some good flavor in the chicken and sauce, the bread is usually pretty fresh, and they are very filling. First of all the food is average but the service is terrible. I went to order a basic bagel with peanut-butter as advertised on there menu. The girl at the counter stated they do not have "cream cheese peanut-butter". When I gave up on asking for a bagel with peanut butter, I asked for a plan bagel with butter. The girl rang up the order which was a completely different price that what was on the menu by almost 30% more. I asked why I am being charged a different price than what was being advertised and she proceeded to tell me that the menu more is wrong and they haven't had time to update the menu. Given this experience I did not purchase a bagel and left to go elsewhere. Also on a side note, on more than one occasion being in this bagel shop there has been flies in the bagel case. Went to Yo Panda for lunch today. I was incredibly impressed. Let me say that I found it on yelp, and nearly left when I say that it was a Cafe de Croissant/Grateful Bagel. This chain has become synonymous with undermaintained poorly managed local chains in my location. But alas their is a shining star. Yo Panda. We were immediately greeted by the very friendly manager, Kanna. We ordered two Banh Mi, a milk tea, and a slush. The Banh Mi were of amazing quality. I've not had anything close to this north of Berkley. And the drinks were delicious too. The location is fantastic, and ample parking. I have one small complaint, but not enough to remove a star. It was very warm today and the air conditioning was either not adequate or nonexistent. The owners need to rectify this. read more

This is the best Bahn Mi I've come across in Santa Rosa! It's out of the way but I'll gladly make the drive when I'm in the mood for a bahn mi! I've had the 5 spice chicken and lemongrass pork sandwiches and both were very tasty! I'd say the chicken was my favorite because the meat was a little less fatty. If fat doesn't 'bother you, then go for the pork! They have a decent amount of meat, pate, lots of veggies, a delicious sauce. They are also pretty large for $6.75! The staff is friendly and the food is ready in a timely fashion. I haven't tried their milk teas yet but I will probably try one eventually. I'm pretty partial to some other places in town. read more
