I really love the peasant soup from this restaurant. It's a meat and vegetable based soup that is Michigan made and unlike anything I've found anywhere. They have these triangle snackers with this almond butter cheese spread that complements it perfectly. I like the Olga original which is a gyro meat pita sandwich. The waitress was so sweet and attentive. She was fast with our food and was friendly. Very knowledgeable about the menu as well. The menu has expanded: for example they have a snacker bowl. You can put salad or a taco salad or something inside this bowl made of of those yummy snackers which I think would be delicious. They also have this creamsicle shake that is very refreshing and orange tasting. Lots of Mediterranean options with a spin. The parking lot is small but functionable and there is a large parking lot nearby if needed. You can access without steps in the bathrooms are very clean. I got a meal to go for lunch the following day. It was packaged with love.

Snackers with the most delicious Swiss Almond Cheese spread. Where can I get more of this delight?

I what is it like to rekindle a friendship with an old friend, this is how I felt today. The one outstanding memory of my 48 year old marriage is dining around the DETROIT area at Olga's. My favorite has always been the Brighton location. What a joy to see our waiter, Mike, who has been here for at least four years! His smile, attentiveness and smooth delivery of taking care of our needs especially serving the food is impeccable. Mike did not bribe me! ( this is for the corporate heads that overlook this establishment. Eric, the cook prepared a triple delicious delight of Snackers with your infamous Swiss Almond cheese spread, the heavenly salad my favorite side dish and the regular Olga with a flood of Olga sauce. Simply still the best dining experience in Brighton'! I'll argue with those reviews that criticize this dining experience. It's that good. If Olga walked in, she would be so proud of this clean and well kept restaurant and their service! In my last review I complained of the high prices but with today's economy, this food is totally worth the dining pleasure of a job well done.

We have been eating at Olga's since the 1980's. Our whole family love eating here but the portion sizes are definitely getting smaller.

I met my friend and his wife at this Middle Eastern eatery for lunch while I was in town. The…read moreSheikh Restaurant is located in a middle suite of a narrow Canton Township strip mall. Parking spaces were ample as the neighboring businesses weren't busy at all during this holiday week. The inside was not ornately decorated as some of the fancier places in the area that serve this type of cuisine. Between the booths and tables, my estimate was that the seating capacity was around 50 customers. The menu booklet contained several pages of offerings across the categories of appetizers, soups, salads, sides, wraps/subs, traditional dishes, and seafood/chops. For beverages, there were juices, smoothies, coffee, tea, and soft drinks. My friends each chose a different type of wrap for their meal. I picked one of the entrees from the traditional dishes which was the Gallaba over Hummus. In my hometown, I don't see gallaba as often as items like shish kabobs and shawarma. My order consisted of a choice of meat (lamb was my pick) sauteed with green peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, and carrots with special spices added. The mixture was served on a bed of hummus with my choice of rice on the side. A cup of chicken rice soup (instead of lentil) also came with this traditional dish. While we were waiting for our food, a basket of warm pita bread and a cup of garlic spread were provided. The spread was very pungent so I used it sparingly. An extra dinner salad was mistakenly added which I saved for leftovers. The gallaba was essentially a Middle Eastern version of a meat stir fry. The pieces of lamb were tender and not gamey. The spices added flavor but not saltiness. Between the bread, soup, rice, and gallaba, it was a generous portion size that also became leftovers for later. For the quality and price of my meal, I gave a four star rating for our visit to The Sheikh Restaurant.

I was addicted to their chicken shawarma wrap for a while, but the last time I went in, the worker was yelling into his phone loudly in a language I didn't know and barely looked at me as a came to the counter. I said my name and pointed to the sandwich and he nodded and went back to his phone call. I don't love that, probably take a little break but I will have to be back for the sandwich eventually. ;)

MY RATING SYSTEM 5/4 = Exceeds expectations = NO…read more3 = Meets expectations = YES 2/1 = Does not meet expectations = NO OVERALL POINTS RATING 0 - 5 1. AMBIANCE = 3 Environment is nice. Clean. They are located in a strip mall. All store fronts looks the same. Nothing sets the place apart from other businesses. 2. FOOD/DRIINKS = 3 Food was good. We have eaten here twice in last couple weeks. Food has been tasty. Chicken kabobs. Lamb chops. Shawarna. Chicken was dry and slightly burned. Hot rolls with garlic dip was very good. 3. SERVICE = 3 We have had great service attentive. Not overbearing. Only one person serving tables. Could be an issues with higher table loading. 4. BATHROOM = did not use 5. PRICING = 2 (This is my new norm for coding. Why? A place in a strip mall.) I am beginning to accept more and more that the inflation of the last 4 years has brought us the new norm of 30% higher eating out prices. But it starts to impact tipping. Tax and tips. So we carry cash and tip between 10 and 15%. The server gets money right than. The lamb chops for 3 and two sides $37.00. I had chicken kabobs for $22. Raw veggie was $6.99. If you have a smoothie it is $6.99. Stick with water. 6. OBSERVATION We have given the place two trys. But probably will not visit again. All things considered it is overpriced for a strip mall setting. Though they have a high traffic take out. In both on site visits we noted. The inside traffic has been at min 2 to 3 table groups. But each time was on a Tuesday. Like Mexican resteraunt this mid eastern offers thier own food group. If they just said mid eastern food you would know. When you decide to eat Mexican you know what they will offer. All taste the same. Nothing sets them apart from the other similiar places. 7. POINTS 11 points out of 25 points. 20 to 25 = Exceeds expectations. NO 10 to 19 = Meets expectations. YES 0 to 9 = Does not meet expections. NO
