Been a loyal customer to this restaurant for over five years they are expensive for a little hole in the wall but I've never had an order this bad. paid $20 for a piece of walleye which was loaded with bones to where I can't eat it. I've ordered it several times over the years but first time I've had 32 bones in the first 1/4 of the filet and my potato looked like it had been dropped and was a total mess of a potato, the salad was rusty with stale croutons. Called to let them know and mimi said I could have a refund which was reasonable since I had to throw the dinner in the garbage. Guess mimi's hubby didn't like it, called back to basically say I was a liar if I didn't drive back with the bones on a Sunday evening, my only day to relax. No thanks Mimi. I had the perch dinner. It was 19.99. The perch was good. But the mashed potatoes were whipped hash browns. The green bean melody was over seasoned with garlic salt. I mean every piece of veggies was covered in garlic salt/ salt and pepper. It was way too much. I would recommend not seasoning veggies. read more

My son thought it would be nice to take his best friend for lunch after graduation at Mimi's Diner. What was supposed to be a nice meal with a great friend, turned into a ruined experience. Mimi walked up to him and saying, Hey (insert name) how's your Mom? Tell her I said to F-off!" As you could imagine, my son was very upset, but not only that, she said it loud enough for other patrons to hear as well. I know this because I was called by more than one person about it. Now, to me, if you want your business to thrive, you shouldn't treat anyone like that let alone your customers. read more

Wholesome diner off M-36 slightly across from Kroger. Didn't take long at all to get seating in a cozy booth and were delighted by a welcoming waitress. The menu was HUGE! Food is average and the wait staff if not the friendliest. Owner seems to be the main reason for this. We still go here occasionally but feel like there are better options. They also charge a fee when you pay with a credit card. Seems strange given that we are likely headed to a cashless society. I get that they have to pay a fee to the carriers but just build it into the pricing and if you want to give a discount to someone who pays with cash then do so. At least that makes it seem like a more positive approach. read more

We were quite happy with our visit to this cozy establishment. Located in the base of the "L" in a small strip plaza, the storefront is rather unobtrusive. The interior is wonderfully comfortable, particularly with the COVID capacity reduction. It was relatively quiet on the Sunday mid-afternoon we visited, making for a pleasant meal. It was moderately busy when we arrived around 1:30. But by the time we left around 2:30, there were only two other patrons. We were seated right away and our server did a good job attending to us during our visit. The menu definitely leaned toward Greek fare but offered the wide variety we've come to expect from a diner. Saganaki (flaming cheese) was one of the appetizers featured, and that is a favorite of ours, especially my wife's. We opened with that, and we were not disappointed. For our mains, my wife had a Greek salad, while I tried the Greek Trio. This featured a stuffed grape leaf, a piece of moussaka and a piece of spinach pie. This was accompanied by a generous portion of gyro meat and two sides of my choice. I opted for a salad with a great dressing (Maurice's) and sweet potato fries. It was a huge serving and I had plenty to take home for another meal, as did my wife. We also took home a piece of pecan pie, which we were able to enjoy later that evening. Our bill was not unreasonable for such a good Sunday dinner, especially when we each had enough for another meal. With food, drink, tax and tip, the final cost to us was $44. At $22 per person, I was happy with this value. Since our son and his family live fairly close by, I'm sure we'll have the chance to try this place again. We'll look forward to it. read more

First of all- it's amazingly impressive to see the owner of the establishment hustling waiting tables with her staff on a Sunday. So kudos on that! The atmosphere is clean and welcoming. Cute and fun signs made us smile. I didn't take pics because when food is good- let's face it- pics are not the priority. The food was excellent. My wife said that the corn beef hash was the best she's ever had. My bestie said he truly enjoyed the meat lovers omelette. Biscuits and gravy were absolutely the delicious comfort food I needed. I will not go into details on the food, but paying in excess of $13 for eggs, bacon, well over done, and the rest, just not worthy of mentioning. Mimi's diner is very poorly ran. The host, owner, and servers were not friendly at all. Everyone is constantly yelling on where to seat people, when food is ready, and when tables need to be cleaned, very unprofessional and hard to enjoy the meal you're paying for when the staff are yelling across the restaurant constantly. On top of it all, a busboy was cleaning off a table behind us and dropped a cup of chocolate milk on the ground and it splashed all over us, our table, and stained our clothes. All we got from that interaction was a "my bad" from the busboy. Didn't even bring us a rag, offer to clean up our table, and didn't even say sorry. Very disappointing that a small town diner doesn't focus more on customer service. read more

But to witness the "boss or manager" of MiMis (shorter larger blonde older lady) yelling at other younger employees that were working and making them cry. I get being busy is stressful but yelling at the employees that are there to help is super uncalled for. Unprofessional is an understatement. We've only been to Mimi's one other time a couple of years ago for breakfast. We were in Pinkney and decided to try it for dinner. The waitress was selling the idea of an appetizer. In addition to our sandwiches we ordered a hummus plate with pita which is common in the Greek influenced coney restaurants in South Eastern Michigan. When the waitress brought it out it came with three wedges of pita that were three of four from a round pita. What happened to the fourth piece? Also the hummus was an embarrassingly small portion thinly spread over the plate. The waitress was clearly uncomfortable and offered to bring out more pita. We're not ones to complain. But this was ridiculous. We asked if this was the typical portion for this appetizer? Her answer was "this is what came out." Mimi's prices are not low. The hummus plate is $7.89. We told our waitress that this was a really tiny portion for almost $8.00. She said she would tell let the owner know. Nothing of course came of that. In short the waitress was nice and did her best. The sandwiches were good. The hummus appetizer left one feeling ripped off. Why would you skimp on hummus? There's another coney restaurant across M36. Try them next time. read more
