My lunch group of 12 visited Old Town Sarajevo for lunch last week and we had a wonderful time. The interior is uniquely designed like the streets of Sarajevo, the service excellent, and the food delicious. Between us all we had the Goulas, Bosanski Lonac, Sarma, Civapi, and a variety of deserts to top off the meal. Everyone in the group gave a big thumbs up, and it is definitely on our list for a repeat!

Stopped by Phoenix and found this cute Bosnian restaurant. Hospitality was amazing and very comforting.... food was delicious !

On a roadtrip across the country and found this spot on the way. LOVE Eastern European food and they did not disappoint. Also, my server Aleks was super friendly and gave great recommendations!

Just moved to Phoenix like 3 months ago and have been craving some burek!! I'm from STL and my best friends family made the best Bosnian dishes! The guy working was very friendly! Small little restaurant, I got my food to and it took less than 10 minutes! Very quick! Sooo good! Only downfall was it's 35 mins from me haha! The meat burek/pita was amazing!

Our Bosnian friend brought us here 10 years ago and we were hooked from the first bite! The food is freshly made, wholesome, and absolutely delicious. Such cool decor, and extremely friendly service. Highly recommend, we will be back!

One of the best Bosnian meals in my life! The food was spot on authentic Bosnian, and I lived there. The cevapi was perfect (meat rolls) served with fluffy pita bread. Eat this with raw onion l, ajvar (red pepper dip) and sour cream... so delicious! The sarma (cabbage rolls) and the pita (cheese and meat filled pastry) are amazing! Had this wonderful server who told us all about the food and suggested dishes. They served up the food family style which was perfect for our group of 7! Even ended with Turkish coffee and four kinds of desserts: baklava, apple roll, and a meraigne cake. The decor was as old town Sarajevo, and was spot on! So great inside the non descript outside. Loved the attention to detail! Overall, an amazing experience! Thank you Sarajevo was a fabulous time!

Wow! This place is a gem and has won a spot as one of my favorite places in all of the valley! The food was delicious! The service was great! The decorations are beautiful! And the prices were unbelievable! We walked through the front doors and were immediately transported to a new place. To me it felt like stepping into an old European set. For $33 we had dinner for two plus dessert! (We did get a free dessert for being first timers at the restaurant - did I mention the service was great?) Can't wait to go back and try other items on their menu!

First time at a Bosnian restaurant. We were greeted and welcomed like at someone's home. The ambiance is very authentic from what I can tell. The food was really good for our first time experience. Definitely would be back!

The food is great. The owners are very friendly. The restaurant is beautiful inside, based on the old buildings in Sarajevo, it really feels like you are in a whole other country especially with the friendly staff. The food is very affordable and would highly recommend coming here.

Saw the reviews, and I was pretty excited! Now, not so much. My son had the two items in the bread. The punjena is a meat patty inside the bread with a side of sour cream and some type of red pepper sauce. The patty was flavorful but an odd texture. Kind of spongy. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to be. This was our first time at a Serbian restaurant. The other dish he ordered was the Cevapi. It consists of little sausages in the same bread. I think they were the same meat as the patty, just formed into sausage shapes. The bread was great. Tangy, tender and chewy. My lamb shank was great. Fall off the bone tender and full of flavor. The mash was smooth and silky. Now for the disappointment. The wait time was ridiculously long! 20 or 30 minutes to get our order. Maybe there was a long prep time. Wasn't because the place was packed. There were around 8 to 10 people when we got there. After we got our food, it was another 20 minutes or so before the server came back to check on us. We asked for a container for our leftovers. Another 15 minutes or so. When the containers were delivered, she asked me if I wanted my tea now. Yes, please. Another 10 or 15 minutes. When it arrived, it was a cup of hot water with a tea bag. So, after all that, we won't be back.

Ask the Community - Old Town Sarajevo

Did this place get sold? I went on June 2nd and the place said closed till further notice, was one of my favorites in the valley, was shocked.

We are now open again, with no changes to our ownership structure. We look forward to welcoming you back.

Is this place still open? The phone number listed is a number that is not in service. I've also seen that it is "temporarily closed." I am really craving this food!!!!!

Old Town Sarajevo is indeed open now. They were temporarily closed due to storm damage to the building, but all is now well and right. They are open every day but Tuesday.

Do y'all ship to Texas?!!? (Crossing my fingers)

Is this open every day? I tried calling the number several times and got a generic outgoing message. The hotel I was staying at said the restaurant didn't open until Wednesday too.

    Mondays- Saturdays 9a-9p Sundays 10a-9p

How big is the restaurant. Can they accommodate a group of 10-12 people during the week at about 1 PM?

It holds about 50 people and just call ahead for reservations at that time.

All I can say is after today's visit I will not be coming back. I don't know if somebody actually spit in my salad dressing, if the salad dressing is bad, or if they just gave me the wrong salad dressing (it's supposed to be a ranch and I've never had these black seeds in the dressing before). All I know is I'm extremely grossed out because that looks like spit in my salad dressing and now I can't eat. So I totally wasted my time and just under $13. Ironically I've never had this problem... all the times I've ever gone before I felt pressured to tip. This time I decided not to... And then this happens. Coincidence? It absolutely could be. But the damage has been done; because, now every time I think of this salad, I'm going to think of spit in my salad dressing. Update: To add insult to injury, as stated, I opted not to tip this time. I specifically selected $0. My total was $12 and some change (thus why in my original review I said I paid just under $13). I hit continue to check out and when I got home just now I noticed that my card was charged for $14.53... it's funny because I thought it was weird that the girl did not repeat my order or my total before she took my card at the window... so not only did they give me spoiled dressing, the wrong dressing, or spit in my dressing; but they absolutely overcharged me for my order... How are they going to charge your card differently than what the screen tells you you're going to pay when you're going through the drive-thru?! Everything about this visit was scammy. How convenient that they did not give me a receipt in my bag after going through the drive-thru! Thieves!

We decided today we wanted to try the wraps for the first time. My husband ordered the fajita wrap and Decided he wanted steak so there was a $1.25 uplift for that. He said it was tasty, but some of the steak pieces were a bit chewy. He loved the heat level and it was chock full of fajita type veggies I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and I enjoy the hot sauce and blue cheese mix of dressing. I only have one complaint and that is I had opted out of carrots and they gave me a choice to add something else so I said tomatoes and they basically put whole cherry tomatoes in my wrap, which were kind of impossible to eat . Those really need to be sliced up or use a different kind of tomato, but I'll not make that mistake again! All in all- great option when you want to eat fresh and decently healthy food- I order the dressing on the side to keep it lighter as well.

I wasn't feeling blue cheese, but I kept quiet to avoid confrontation, plus it seems the salads are pre-made that way. Other than that, this place was quick and the drive-thru was efficient and convenient for me. The salads here are always on point and today's Cobb was no exception. The interior is pretty long with a large number of seating inside the building so we had no trouble getting seated right away by the hostess. We decided on food relatively quickly due to previous experience with the business, however, our waiter never came around to take our orders or even give us water at the table. We saw one girl with dyed hair who unassumingly could have been our waiter since she was in our section but only worked with one particular table and ran to the back after each time, but never addressed our table or came by. We eventually had to flag a different waiter down who was able to help us place the order and service us for the rest of our visit, she also informed us that this other "Waiter" was supposed to help us but she wasn't sure why she never made an attempt to do so after having us wait 20 mins and other tables were being serviced. We ordered Flordian French Toast and Elote Breakfast Burrito (plus a couple sides and drink) which were both really good, and filling. Prices weren't too bad for what we ordered and was able to take our mind off of the rather long wait to get helped. Not sure if we'll come back to this particular location again, but it was nice trying the restaurant out another time.
