    Cazuela with fish
    Emily Y H.

After playing pickle ball on the upper floor, we wandered around the food hall exploring what has opened recently. We saw this booth near the bath and couldn't quite figure out what cuisine it was since it said sandwich and grill. Suddenly an old man walked up to us and handed us a menu for a better look at the items and we realized it was Ecuadorian! The man was super sweet and didn't speak much English, but had one of the workers help explain what are in the dishes. We ended up ordering a cazuela with fish, empanada, and mixed ceviche. The Cazuela came simmering in a hot clay pot and was delicious! I believe it's plantains, peanuts, veggies, and bunch of stuff made into a stew served with rice. It was delicious and definitely our favorite of all the items! It came with a sauce that helped brighten the flavors as well. The empanada was delicious too and good size for the price also with a sauce. The ceviche was a good size and served with popcorn and plantain chips. The mixed ceviche contained octopus shrimp! Overall it was lovely cute food stall that felt very mom and pop shop feel. It was the perfect way to end a nice low key night for us. The workers are very attentive and if he never handed us the menu we probably would've have tried it! Will be coming back to try more items!

If you never tried Ecuadorian food, Okey is a great place to start. The service is friendly and the food is fresh. I had the beef empanada $3.90 with tax and it was one of the best I ever had. It comes with a green sauce and they also let me try the spicy sauce and they were absolutely. The shell is crispy and not greasy. It is 100% beef with no fillers. Such a delightful find at the dekalb market. I love this place and can't wait to try out more food from here.

Part of the food court downstairs of Dekalb market hall. They had lots of options to choose from. I got the bistec that came with plantains, rice, and a salad. They have some bar top seating at their kiosk. The rest are tables around the food hall. It came out on a huge plate. I ended up taking leftovers home. The beef was easy to cut. The tomato sauce it came in was pretty good. It was a bit salty. Very runny sauce with lots of veggies. The plantains were delicious. I wasn't a fan of the rice. It reminded me of school cafeteria rice. Their fried rice looked good. I wanted to sub that for the regular rice but they said they can't do that.

Amazing Ecuadorian food and wonderful service! The encebollado, empanadas, coconut shrimp, and patacones are delicious. Make sure you try with the green and yellow sauces. Authentic, delicious Ecuadorian food made by good people at affordable prices. Whenever I'm in the area, Okey will always be on my bucket list!

My coworker had food from them the other day that smelled so good so of course I had to check them out after I was done with my work. I ordered my food and had a beef empanada as I waited for my meal the beef empanada was so good and it was full not thin they give a lot of food on the plate also this was my first time trying Ecuadorian food and it was very good and packed with flavor I never knew they serve fries and sausages along with the food so I didn't finish all my food but I will today I definitely recommend trying this spot out

He gave us great recommendations from the menu and had a really good energy about him. We started with some guacamole and it was pretty tasty. But the fish tacos? They were some of the best fish tacos I've ever had. Maybe it's because they were thick pieces - not tiny cut up fish bits - and they were fresh and hot and crispy! The sauce on them was so good and packed a nice punch and the lime delivered a perfect amount of acid. These were stellar and I would come back for these any day. I thought the meal wouldn't get better, but then we all shared a Cuban sandwich and wow! It was better than some of the ones I've had in Miami. I was totally floored after this meal! We weren't expecting anything big, but this was bombastic, and I will definitely be recommending this place to everyone I know! The fact that the staff is so cool, the place is so cute, and the food is so good makes this an easy choice for a neighborhood hang out.

I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in and saw how cute the restaurant was. I had passed by many times but for some reason I thought it was a more casual take out place but I was very wrong. They renovated in 2023 and they did an amazing job, the bar, color and table settings were all so aesthetically pleasing. The waitress that was there was so nice and attentive and even offered us water while we waited for our empanadas. We opted to try the corn chicken empanadas which comes with chicken, potatoes and saffron inside. They were delicious and exactly what we needed to hold us over until our late dinner plans. I'll definitely be visiting them for a proper meal or drinks at their beautiful bar!

Something told me to get it and I don't even like shrimp. I really loved this. And the way the empanadas taste with the sauces, truly perfect together. I wish I got more. I also got the pabellon. This was also yum. I don't know the name of the orange sauce, but it paired really well with that one. Having a sweet plantain crust is a very interesting. It wasn't as durable as a regular empanada. But it did tasted really delicious. Recommend!

The sweetness from the plantain mixed with the savory shredded beef was a magnificent combo - Corn Carne Mechada, similar to the above, the shredded beef was very flavorful - Corn Pollo, this was your basic chicken empanada so solid choice but nothing stood out, I wish it had cheese - Corn Pollo en Mole Rojo, I didn't really like the flavor profile and wouldn't order again They all came with sauces that were all so good and went very well with the empanadas. They had a spicy one, green one (avocado?) and pink (ketchup/mayo). The cashier was really nice and recommended some to try. They were out of the oxtail at the time. They fried up the empanadas fresh and were done pretty quickly. I do wish they would have labeled the empanadas so I knew what I was eating. The store is pretty small but there is seating and a bathroom. All of my friends enjoyed their empanadas as well and we would all go back!

OMG!! These…read moreempanadas are seriously the best tasting empanadas I ever had. Immediately I was going to rate them lower due to size and no labeling but the taste was truly made with lots of love. I ordered 4 via Ubereats, totaling roughly $24 with 3 sauces. I ordered the Chicken macaroni and cheese, Ropa Vieja, Americano and a Pastelon. Every single one of them were on point, warm and crispy. My only true complaint is that they're super small. Better for my calorie intake I guess lol. The meat was extremely well seasoned, cheese was melted, plantain was sweet. The edges were crispy and the flavors together were delicious. The avocado sauce is way too thick. It's more like a thick heavy cream. The pink sauce is your typical mayo ketchup. There is absolutely no way of knowing which empanadas are which. They need a better concept so that customers know especially if they're ordering as a group to share. I've never seen an empanada place not label their empanada. I read a google review from the owners saying they put it on the package on the bottom corner but that is a lie. It's not on the empanada itself or on the packaging. Overall I'm still ordering from here again : )

The cons... they charge for sauce, you get none if you don't order it... $.30 each. I got the avocado and hot sauce, decent but nothing fancy. They have plastic cutlery, no knife, just forks. They have rice and bean dishes with your choice of protein, but if you're traveling, and you like your beans separate, they will not pack it separately. So I didn't order it. They're not very accommodating, but they were still good. I'll be back, rates 7.5/10 This shrimp empanada is my #1 favorites.
