    PAN CON TOMATE
    Susan M.

Happened to be in the area and saw the spot and wanted to try it. Love seeing more Venezuelan spots pop up! I did take out. The food was absolutely delicious. The chicken was savory as was the carne. The portions were big. These arepas were stufffffed. I didn't have the pan con tomate until the next day but it was good. Decor is intentional and beautiful imo. Service was quick and attentive. I would come back to dine in.

Absolutely loved this spot. Super cute & casual with a really friendly server on the night we were there. Everything was delicious: chicken arepas, tacos, patatas bravas, bacalao croquettes! The frozen passionfruit margarita was fun and sooo tasty too!

    The PORK BELLY TACO (disgusting)

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. DO NOT EAT HERE. This is one of the worst meals I've had in a long time. I've been here in person and it was just alright. Nothing special. But my partner wanted to order take out and wow are we incredibly disappointed. My pork belly taco totally fell apart as soon as I picked it up because this restaurant uses CHEAP STORE BOUGHT TORTILLAS. The kind that get soggy immediately and everything falls through. For a place charging $6.90 for a single taco, they should invest in using a higher quality brand of tortillas or make their own. The brisket arepa was flavorless. No salt. The meat was shredded all to hell and barely any meat inside the arepa at all. It was $18. Total rip off. The patatas bravas were horrible too. Potatoes were dry and flavorless. They prepared the potatoes incorrectly. This place clearly does not have real cooks working. This is amateur level stuff. You can find MUCH better street food versions of what they're doing and at a fraction of the price. This place is a total rip off. I'm not rich. It means a lot to me when I want to spend extra money on a restaurant. And I'm not expecting to be blown away every time, but I am expecting the food to be edible. But trying to eat their arepa was like putting flavorless slop into my mouth. I'm currently making my own dinner now because we just couldn't stomach their food. We had to throw it in the trash. Awful awful awful. New York has many great restaurants but this ain't one of them.

    DUCK MOLE TACO

Very cute and adorably decored, I tried several great dishes here at La Napa. In no particular order: Croquetas De Jamon-Although crispy had no discerbible ham. If this is the yelp check in special, you have to make it a bit more tasty. Be sure to ask which wine you need to purchase in order to receive it. Garlic Shrimp- Small portion for price. 6 medium size shrimp. Nicely prepared not over done. Bread was good this this though. Duck Mole Taco- It was ok. Not the mole you're thinking. Chicarron-One of the best dishes of all I tried. Great portion for pricing. Nicely seasoned and crispy. Loved the accompanying sauce. Lumpian of Lamb- Love this! It was mixture inside and the sweet chili sauce that came with it. Also crispy. Yum. Also on this visit I had a delicious prosecco but, the name escapes me. Service was ok. Not wholly attentive and neither ignoring you. Clearly this place has a following because there were people standing around outside in the rain waiting for their 2 go orders. I'll visit again for the Lumpian of Lamb and Chicarron. SYOY!

While visiting my cousin I came upon this suggestion to grab a bite to eat. Boy did Yelp do me right!!! The food here was AMAZING! Course after course it just kept getting better. What's pretty neat is that you place the order yourself, staff then bring it to the table. Their prices are so reasonable and the place itself has some funky decor which I personally love! So did my cousin. I would absolutely come dine here again, fortunately for my cousin, this is right around her way and they definitely made an impression enough to make a regular out of her. Can't wait to be back!

BISTEC AREPA and MARGARITA - FROZEN PASSION FRUIT
    Amy A.

Arepas were solid and the passion fruit margarita was a delight. It's a small space but there were some thoughtful touches I appreciated - artful mirror design in the bathroom, custom 3D textured wallpaper by the entrance. New to me was the QR system which allows you to have multiple parties on the same order but easily split the bill. Maybe I've been under a rock, but this was the first time I used this system and it made the process of meeting up with a friend pretty easy when it came time to settle the tab.

This spot has been on my list for a hot minute but I always end up going somewhere else. I finally went out of my way to come and I was not into it from the moment I step in. The vibe felt so empty. With one "waiter" (the place is automated they only bring you the food) and one cook my expectations went to just hoping to eat something edible. The second red flag was the water. I poured some and swallowed what I can only describe as sewer water. I took a closer look at the container and noticed a bunch of gunk on the inside of the container. The "margarita" was 100% only margarita mix and was barely frozen (more of a watery slush). On top of that being juice again I realized something wrong with the container, the cup was broken. Do they not know you aren't suppose to drink from broken glassware!? Then the "food" came out the "gambas" was a cup of canola oil with a few overly salted shrimps. A spinach dish that claimed to have mushrooms came with one mushroom chopped finely and another ton of salt. The "batatas brava" again were nothing but salt but also the sauce was so off. Overall the music was on point (Rock en Español) that almost made me forgot the taste in my mouth. This diner like spot is a hard pass.

    Pork Belly

Overpriced, glorified take-out, pretending to be a sit-down restaurant. Service is basically non-existing as you still order & pay in the takeout app. The menu is large, but the dishes are small and underwhelming for the price tag - with exception of the pork belly, which is much too big for an appetizer and one-dimensional when eaten as only dish. Tacos came in bland tortillas that resembled cardboard with no memorable flavor in the fillings, while the asparagus was 1/3 woody and at $9 for 6 stalks a total rip off. The only dish I really enjoyed were the yucca balls, so one of the stars is for those only.

    Chicken empanada
    Farrah B.

I came here because of the beautiful bright exterior and I saw it on one of my foody apps to try. I ordered the chicken empanadas When the friendly guy came to the counter he told me that they no longer had the orders of 2 and they would make them one big one. I thought the price was a bit steep at $6.50 plus tax, but I was kind of hungry and really excited to try something new. They gave me a buzzer and told me that I would be notified when it was finished being being cooked. They gave me a buzzer and told me that I would be notified when it was finished being being cooked. It took about 10-15 minutes. It was different than any other empanada with a oddly fluffy, crisp shell and finly chopped chicken inside. The green sauce was phenomenal, but the size of this empanada surely did not warrant the $7 price tag. Maybe I'll return for another dish or just drinks. It was very cute.

Walked in around 1:30 only an hour after opening and they were out of French fries which seemed weird to me. Very cute exterior and a good amount of outdoor seating Perfect for people watching. The arepas were good and filling. The chicken empanada has curry in it which threw me off but wasn't bad.

CARNE MECHADA AREPA w/ FRENCH FRIES
    Kelvin V.

The carne machada (shredded beef) arepa w/green sauce was bomb! Unfortunately everything else wasn't. The fries were bottom tier and got served a kid size coke (7.5oz) for $3 and no cup of ice in crown heights, Brooklyn of all places. You can only order off an app (no menu) takes away local restaurant feeling.

And they taste delicious. I felt like the servings were huge!!! Immediately walking in, I was greeted and sat down. My order was taken quickly too. It was a busy day but my food still came out within 10 minutes. And good thing too because I was starving. I got the pollo arepa and pollo empanada. Looovveee how soft the pollo empanada is... it's so dang fluffy. That was my first time having an empanada with that kind of dough. I have to say that I prefer it. Wish Filipinos used that dough when we make our empanadas. lol. The pollo arepa was everything!!! I had never had an arepa until the day I had one here. The meat was seasoned so nicely in their tomato based sauce. And the actual arepa... soft yet had a bit of a crunch. It was the perfect textures for me. I also enjoyed their soursop juice. It paired perfectly with my meal. My friend got the pernil arepa and was impressed by the taste and the green sauce. I didn't get much information out of him other than it was hitting the spot lol. Definitely a solid place to go in the area. It's kind of medium sized in there but there is plenty of seating if you're with a party no bigger than 3 or 4 people. I think most people come in here for a grab and go situation. But it's cool to hang around to watch the kitchen at work and hear the music.
