Didn't expect to like this place as much as I did. Be prepared though, the portion sizes are huge, and they don't skimp on the cheese. Food is delicious, affordable, and good for a filling bite without breaking the bank. I believe they also make their cheese which is delicious and chewy. They also have sugarcane juice and passionfruit juice, and I personally liked the sugarcane one a lot, even though it's been already pressed and is sitting there. read more

So this is actually a go to spot for me I love coming here when I am around the Dyckman area. The food here is so amazing especially after a club night it taste even better lol I usually come here and get the plantain sandwich called cachapa it's a sweet outside with chicken or any type of meat you decide with lettuce tomato and mozzarella cheese , super delicious. They also have empanadas and small appetizers that are also very good! The service here is alright I always end up getting this one Dominican guy if I'm not mistaken (he has long hair with a hair net on) that is very rude I can't lie; he is always in a rush from charging to letting me make my mind up and he does not make you feel welcomed but it's whatever I look past that and just order my food. He is the reason I gave the place 4 stars :( They do have seats indoor and outdoor , you can sit there and eat or Just take it to go I say the eating inside experience is pretty cool i usually like to eat it inside because the food is still hot who doesn't like their food freshly made and warm but overall I would definitely never stop coming here and getting my tummy full ! Give this place a try if you want good food read more

Cachapas y Mas - Cachapas de pollo con todo Limonada (Lemonade) - Venezuelan Near Me - Ridgewood, New York

Service was really lackluster but that cheese cachapa was addictingly delicious and hefty! Loads of mozzarella cheese buried within the sweet corn pancake--not the healthiest meal but definitely a fun treat on occasion. It also came with a couple of creamy sauces--I liked the green one best. It's a very casual environment and I'd go again for some takeout. read more

A friend recently introduced me to this spot and I cannot believe I've been missing out for this long! I ordered the pollo mechado patacones and it was literally the best thing I've eaten in a long time! The chicken was extremely tender and flavorful and the patacones was fried to perfection. The restaurant is small with some seating but I was there on a rainy weekday so we had the place to ourselves and the service is prompt. read more

The absolute best cachapas and arepas I've ever had. Great for hangovers or lazy days! Every cachapa is filled to the brim and loaded up with deliciously seasoned meat and other toppings. Cannot go wrong with anything on the menu here. I dream about this place. Inside are just casual run of the mill tables, but you come here for the food not the decor! read more

Cachapas y Mas - Devour cachapa - Venezuelan Near Me - Ridgewood, New York

I always order the same thing every time--the cachapa. It's made with corn and is so sweet and fresh. I usually order it with a mix of meat or carne asada, mozzarella cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes, with pink and green sauce on the side. The empanadas are pretty good as well! read more

I have no clue how I've never reviewed Cachapas y Mas before.. I've ordered it over a dozen times! Even when I moved neighborhoods, I always found myself seeking out Cachapas. Food is reasonably priced and you get a lot for your money. The restaurant itself is pretty casual, a place for a quick bite. I loooove the cachapas. They're slightly sweet and they encapsulate all of the meats, cheese, and toppings you include! They always end up super stuffed. The sides are also great too, like the empanadas, taqueño, taqueyoyo, etc. Everything is a little greasy and heavy, but it's certainly a comfort meal that I keep coming back to. read more

Cachapas Y Mas is a Latino NYC landmark. If you know, you know. From savory comfort foods to Juices and Desserts, this Venezuelan gem in the Ridgewood section bordering Brooklyn and Queens is where you'll find what you're looking for. Definitely try their pollo and carne empanadas as well as their specialty Cachapas(sweet corn pancake) Sandwiches and my personal fave, The Yoyo(Sweet Plantain) Sandwich with mozzarella and Pernil(Roast Pork). Do Not come empty handed, do the right thing and tip these amazing workers for their awesome service and generously priced delicacies. read more

I usually order online and everything is perfect. So I hyped this place up to my coworker and brought her in...and received their absolute worst. I've never been so dissatisfied and disappointed. My friends who moved to Bushwick recently shared if we would like to try the best sandwiches in the neighborhood, Cachapas y Mas is a must. They serve 7-8 styles of Venezuelan sandwiches with various ingredients. We ordered one of each and 2 bags of finger food, Tequeyoyo & Cheese Pastelito to share with a group of 8 people. The portion was more than enough with super reasonable price. The food was an amazing hit and our favorites were Cachapas, which was made by corn pancake & Patacon, which was wrapped with double-fried plantain. Both cheesy snack was also really delicious and satisfying. read more

This place has popped up on my feed on Instagram a BUNCH of times while looking through what's trending. It wasn't until around the fifth time I said to myself, " OK, let's see what the fuss is all about." First, this place is super cute, and has a decent amount tables to dine in. If there is room, and you have the time, I suggest you enjoy your meal on site. This is counter service, and the woman behind the counter was super nice and was great at explaining the menu items. I wish I could have tried one of each but I ended up with the Carne Asada Yoyo. This is a sandwich with flattened sweet plantains as the outer layer of the sandwich. They have an array of items that you can fill your sandwich with from just cheese to chorizo and a whole lot more. My sandwich came out fairly quickly and was absolutely delicious. The sweet plantains paired very well with the savory carne asada. I was also pleasantly surprised at the amount of meat that was in this sandwich. This was an amazing experience and I can't wait to go back to try an arepa, empanada and everything else on their menu. read more

It was my first time trying Venezuelan food and I was a little hesitant. After looking though the menu I decided to order their Two Meat Yoyo. It includes sweet plantains, shredded chicken, shredded beef, fried cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and mayo. I also ordered Pastelito De Queso which is fried flour dough stuffed with cheesy potato. This is definitely for potato lovers. The food was good and this place exceeded my expectations! I'm looking forward to coming back for more. read more

It's a small restaurant front so it could be a tight fit it it's full. We can here for a late night bite to eat. It's super hard to park around this area. Sorry I forgot to take picks cause I was so hungry I dug in !! The food was good , all made fresh and hot as we ordered. You order at the register and someone comes and brings the food to you. The staff seemed very nice and were able to explain the food items well. Not too crazy you can spend under 20 a person and leave with a full belly. read more

Food was AMAZING! First time ordering here on Grubhub and wasn't disappointed at all. I didn't know what to get so I grabbed a few little things to share. I had the pastelitos with beef, a chicken empanada, a Patacon with Perñil and the fried cheese-stick and Tres Leche. The Chicken empanada is one I don't recommend. Both my hubby and I agreed that it taste like fish. I don't know what's up with that. Aside that, the Perñil patacon was delicious and huge, I opted not to have mayo or ketchup on it because I didn't want it soggy when arriving and I regret that because it was sorta dry lol. I added all the sauces that was provided to me though and it was so GREAT! The fried cheese stick was also very good and the beef pastelitos was so cute and small but filling and absolutely delicious! Tres leche was so mouth watering and good. I'm definitely eating here again, it was sooo worth it. The best $20 ever spent in a long time. read more

Generally I won't go for sandwiches. They don't fill me up. But this place is so unique. They have various different Venezuelan sandwiches. I tried the mozzarella burrito, steak cachapa and chicken empanada. The mozzarella was so good. Everything was so flavorful and hearty. The place was slowly filling up and understandably so. The food is delicious, great prices and wonderful service. There are 3 different sauces. One herb, another I think Chitpole and mayo, the last one was my favorite. It was a liquid hot sauce. The heat creeps up on you and it's a burst of flavor. Loved it. I wanted that bottled up to go. I'll be back to try the rest off the menu. read more

** TO-GO ORDER ** Stepped in for a quick dinner bite to go. Small room with clean, almost new table benches. Welcomed immediately by staff behind the register. Off her reccomendations, I ordered : Chicken Yoyo- soft, right amount of chicken, banana, vegetable, moisture and juicyness. Chicken empanada (corn)- soft, not too greasy, stuffed well Chicken empanada (dough)- not too dry nor chewy, shredded chicken flavorful Beef empanada (corn)- Suttle flavor, not too greasy, not your typical seasoning. Slight crunch. Tequeño - their version of mozzarella stix. soft dough, not too chewy, good combo w/cheese. The register girl was very friendly and helpful in answering my questions when choosing the items. It made up for her forgetting to give a complimentary Tequeño upon my Yelp! check-in as well as giving me a chicken Yoyo instead of the beef that I asked for. Food came out in less than 8 mins, as she advised. Their sauces are on the skimpy side, and were half full at best when I opened them. Their price to portion to taste ratio is within standards. Overall, did not wow me but did surprise me. Will return to try other items. Reccomend! read more

The food is always great, always consistent. When I was ordering in person for the first time the cashier explained certain things on the menu. This was my first time being to a Venezuelan restaurant. It was clean and nice in there, not busy for an early Sunday afternoon. I like ordering from here whenever I'm in Dyckman, nice local spot & they're open late! read more

I was excited to try this place, but unfortunately the food just did not do it for me. I love anything patacon--anything with plantains of any kind, really--so I wanted to try the one here. I got the beef patacon. The beef itself was a bit lacking in flavor, and there wasn't really anything remarkable about the flavor of the sandwich overall, either. The sauces they added had an overwhelming creaminess to them, which was not expected and not welcomed. What really made this sandwich disappointing was how dry the tostones (fried plantains) were. It was very difficult to cut it, and impossible to pick it up and eat it like a normal sandwich. Imagine being hungry and having a sandwich in front of you but it's so dry that you can barely chew it. I'm sure that they have other great things here, based on the other reviews, but I do not recommend what I got. read more

Not much better late night food than Cachapas. I had the fully loaded cachapa. I believe it had pulled pork bland pulled chicken plus lettuce tomatoes and sauce. So savory and delicious. Did not enjoy this place. Nothing really tasted fresh. The pepito could've probably been tasty if it was freshly fried. The cheese empanada would've also been good if it was fresh. They're pretty much in that little cabinet that keeps food warm under the lamp. Boo. The cachapas were ok. Not enough filling for the enormous outer plantain layer. I pretty much only ate the inside fillings- pork lettuce fried cheese. read more

Came in and ordered an empanada, a sandwich and a cachapa. The cheese empanada was easily the best I ever had. We even came back the next more to get some. We both got pork as the protein in our meal, wasn't a huge fan of the pork didn't have too much flavor in my opinion. I want to try the other protein before i give this place 5 stars. Their passion fruit drink is amazing. They have a special 2 empanada and a drink is $5 if you come at 11am I'm not sure of the end time to this happy hour is. Their cliantro sauce is SOOO good. Fantastic!!! Great takeout and friendly attentive service. Not so much a "dinner" place, more takeout and quick grub, but well-worth it.

Is it me or is Venezuelan food not only underrated but underappreciated? Well, at Cachapas y Mas in Brooklyn, the food will certainly have you screaming the praises of Venezuela. The service was pretty solid for a rush hour experience. In and out of the doors with warm food and no complaints about the staff and service. Their chicken empanadas were pretty solid, the inside was nice and moist and of course paired perfectly with the trio of sauces I received. As for the arepas, they're the reason to go, the star of the establishment. Definitely order with an empty stomach because the filling and portion is quite large especially for the modest price. You're absolutely going to leave with a fully satisfied appetite. read more
