So this is actually a go to spot for me I love coming here when I am around the Dyckman area. The food here is so amazing especially after a club night it taste even better lol I usually come here and get the plantain sandwich called cachapa it's a sweet outside with chicken or any type of meat you decide with lettuce tomato and mozzarella cheese , super delicious. They also have empanadas and small appetizers that are also very good! The service here is alright I always end up getting this one Dominican guy if I'm not mistaken (he has long hair with a hair net on) that is very rude I can't lie; he is always in a rush from charging to letting me make my mind up and he does not make you feel welcomed but it's whatever I look past that and just order my food. This place has popped up on my feed on Instagram a BUNCH of times while looking through what's trending. It wasn't until around the fifth time I said to myself, " OK, let's see what the fuss is all about." First, this place is super cute, and has a decent amount tables to dine in. If there is room, and you have the time, I suggest you enjoy your meal on site. This is counter service, and the woman behind the counter was super nice and was great at explaining the menu items. I wish I could have tried one of each but I ended up with the Carne Asada Yoyo. This is a sandwich with flattened sweet plantains as the outer layer of the sandwich. They have an array of items that you can fill your sandwich with from just cheese to chorizo and a whole lot more. My sandwich came out fairly quickly and was absolutely delicious. The sweet plantains paired very well with the savory carne asada. I was also pleasantly surprised at the amount of meat that was in this sandwich. I had the pastelitos with beef, a chicken empanada, a Patacon with Perñil and the fried cheese-stick and Tres Leche. The Chicken empanada is one I don't recommend. Both my hubby and I agreed that it taste like fish. I don't know what's up with that. I tried the mozzarella burrito, steak cachapa and chicken empanada. The mozzarella was so good. Everything was so flavorful and hearty. The place was slowly filling up and understandably so. The food is delicious, great prices and wonderful service. There are 3 different sauces. One herb, another I think Chitpole and mayo, the last one was my favorite. It was a liquid hot sauce. Chicken empanada (corn)- soft, not too greasy, stuffed well Chicken empanada (dough)- not too dry nor chewy, shredded chicken flavorful Beef empanada (corn)- Suttle flavor, not too greasy, not your typical seasoning. The register girl was very friendly and helpful in answering my questions when choosing the items. It made up for her forgetting to give a complimentary Tequeño upon my Yelp! check-in as well as giving me a chicken Yoyo instead of the beef that I asked for. I got the beef patacon. The beef itself was a bit lacking in flavor, and there wasn't really anything remarkable about the flavor of the sandwich overall, either. The sauces they added had an overwhelming creaminess to them, which was not expected and not welcomed. What really made this sandwich disappointing was how dry the tostones (fried plantains) were. It was very difficult to cut it, and impossible to pick it up and eat it like a normal sandwich. Imagine being hungry and having a sandwich in front of you but it's so dry that you can barely chew it.
