What is there to say? My go to lunch spot. Delicious and cheap and convenient, pupusas are a perfect food!

I've had a variety of pupusas & I must say these are particularly good. First & foremost, there is a wide variety of pupusas here so whether you're a vegetarian or carnivore, you'll definitely find something that you like. I opted for one with beef & it did not disappoint, especially as it was fresh to made. These are a tad bit on the pricier side for pupusas but they're quite tasty & I think they're well worth it. I hope to try every pupusa on the menu eventually haha. read more

Pupusas Ridgewood - Salvadoran Near Me - Ridgewood, New York

We order from Ridgewood Pupusas probably at least once a month, and it's always delicious. We're vegetarian, and we never taste any cross contaminated meat in our pupusas which is a big plus. My husband is happy that they send a generous portion of the curtido along with the tomato salsa. I remember once that only a partial order was sent (this was due to the delivery driver only taking half) and they still sent someone on their staff to deliver the rest of our order which we appreciated. The queso pupusas and the frijoles y queso are my favorite. My husband loves the Pupusa de Espinaca and the Pupusa de Calabaza. We've never eaten in so I can't comment on the ambiance, but for delivery? Pupusas Ridgewood is always good. read more

Love this place! Make sure to eat the curtido too. It's tasty, very healthy and complements the pupusas well

Everything we tried here was amazing!! I think the Pupusas were definitely worth five dollars. They were perfectly made and cooked and they were stuffed full of ingredients. The fresco drinks are huge. I love Horchata more than life itself so I I ordered a large size and she said it's basically a half gallon lol so I just got the small and it was definitely big enough! I would come back here in a heartbeat and literally get anything because what we had was so amazing! It's a fun little walk up hole-in-the-wall place, but there is open air seating outside and one of those closed in areas where you can sit outside also if it happens to be raining. The woman who was working there was super nice and knowledgeable about everything and very proud of her homemade products, as she should be! read more

The pupusas here are great! The service is friendly. The space is small but clean w/ a couple seats outside- it's more of a pick up space. You won't be disappointed. Flavors are amazing. read more

A 6'x6' hole-in-the-wall on a random corner of Fresh Pond Rd doesn't appeal to most, including myself. Well, today I must admit I played myself... by not coming here sooner. What a pleasant surprise! The last time I had a great homemade pupusa, I was 8 years old. Stepping inside, we were greeted by a friendly gentleman behind the counter who only spoke Spanish. We ordered two Chicken + Cheese Pupusas and two Chicken Tacos. I was skeptical about the tacos since this is a pupusa spot, but my boyfriend insisted. The pupusas were fantastic! It was cheesy, the shredded chicken was flavorful, and the cornmeal dough was soft . The starting price is $5/pupusa but you can add more fillings for only $1/each. A STEAL! Tacos were alright. I'd stick with the pupusas though. There's no seating inside, only outside dining/takeout. Overall, I give this place 4.5 stars for the pupusas and recommend it to all locals for a quick, delicious Salvadoran bite. read more

Made to order with love. These pupusas are just fantastic. Simple ingredients with bold flavors. Highly recommend a visit!!! read more

Awesome food. pupusas were delicious. Handmade freshly made while we waited. Tangy slaw was great counterpoint to spicy fare. Tamarind drink was yummy too. Loved this place. Will come back again. read more

I ordered the huitlacoche pupusa and it was delicious. The fresh corn and cheese really complemented it well. I also enjoyed the green and red sauce that was given. The coleslaw was surprisingly good because I wasn't too impressed with how it looked inside a plastic baggie. It had enough acid, it was crunchy, and I appreciated the raw onions. My husband ordered the chicharron with beans and cheese pupusa but I couldn't taste anything but the beans. The only downside is that it ate very messy and I wish the pupusa didn't fall apart. With that said, I'll definitely be going back to try other flavors if I'm in the neighborhood. read more

Pupusas Ridgewood - Huitlacoche Pupusa - Salvadoran Near Me - Ridgewood, New York

The pupusas here are stellar. They are stuffed and super flavorful, fluffy. Some of the best I've had in this area! I really liked the salsa for them as well. The tostones were flavored nicely. The rice and beans were really bland, I wouldn't get them again. The inside of the restaurant is really small, there's nowhere to sit but there is a nice outside area you can sit in. The staff were also really nice and I got my food in about 20 minutes on a Friday night. read more

Outstanding pupuseria! There's no indoor seating. There is an outdoor dining shed with space for eight. Plus, itv seems they have a few tables they can put on the sidewalk on nice days. We shared a cactus pupusa, a bean and cheese pupusa, and an horchata. The pupusas were phenomenal. Just a perfect level of greasiness that pairs wonderfully with a few too many beers. They're cheesey and soft, yet hold together well. They came with a vinegary slaw which I dumped in the pupusas and proceed to fold over and eat like an overstuffed taco. The slaw provided an excellent acidic contrast to an already delicious bite. I'd put these pupusas up there as the best vegetarian fast food along with pizza and doubles. Ultra comforting. We need more pupuserias like this! Value was enlightening! Two pupusas and the horchata was $13 and change. Some of the best money I've spent dining out. Also, food was ready quickly. read more

You tell me where you can find a meal so delicious for under ten bones!?! Pupusas are $3 each. Plenty of veggie options for us veg-heads! I figured two was a great way to start. My mom raised me on zucchini so I knew I needed one of those and the spinach also looked good. Both had cheese of course! Not so vegan friendly. The pupusas come with shredded cabbage and tomato salsa. I had fo also order the horchata. My total was $9 before tax and tip! My roommate got the mole and was more than happy with her choice. I devoured mine in their patio seating. The food was served in to go bags. The actual place is tiny. There's only enough room to pop in and tell them your order and pay. There is also a free cactus fruit water when we went. The word is out because there was tons of people in the patio. People know a deal when they see it. And it's the flavor that gets people coming back. read more

Delicious! Ridgewood Pupusas does not disappoint. The zucchini and chicken pupusas were delicious.

I was just passing by and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did, I tried the chicken and and pork pupusas. They were delicious, very fresh, and flavorful. The service was fast I took my order to go. If it was not so far from me I would totally be a regular customer. read more

Best pupusas I've ever had. Made fresh with quality ingredients. Ask for their homemade green spicy sauce. Delish!

Classic bean is my fave papusa in the city. Also enjoyed the spinach, lots of vegetarian options.

This place is authentically Salvador. Their pupusas are bomb- I had frijol con queso, chicharron con queso and loroco con queso. I love them all, although the loroco is an acquired taste (it tastes like broccoli or squash). Their drinks are sweet. I got marcuya and it was full of flavor. The place is small and they currently only offer outdoor dining. Keep in mind that they do charge a service fee if you pay with a credit card. read more

I was looking for something new to try and I happened to stumble upon this place. Outdoor seating is nice, they have music playing, plenty of chairs , nice shade and breeze for these humid days. Upon walking up, there is a menu ; i ordered inside (really only fits one person) Chicharron Y Queso, Loroco Con Queso, and spinach and cheese. My rating is based on the flavor which was totally absent. I wanted to try the pupusas without their special coleslaw that comes in a baggie(very stinky) and then with...no magic. Just plain. The cheese had a lil yummy saltiness and then poof, bland. The chicharrón one has the most flavor but still blah. read more

I've been eating pupusas my entire life and have never eaten one that is too thin. Usually, it's the opposite. They make them with too much flour or corn tortillas and not enough of the fillings (cheese, meat, beans). These however, just fell apart from being soaked with oil. Too oily. Too thin. Good flavor. A good pupusa, like a taco should be easy to eat with one hand. These were impossible to eat without a fork. The neighborhood where this restaurant sits is super clean and seems safe, so that's a plus. In terms of pupusas in NYC, those don't make my top 5 or even close. Good but nowhere near the best out here. I say, if you like pupusas, still give them a try. They're $3. Not the best value in NYC for pupusas, but you won't be mad you spend the $3 if you do try it out. read more

Yo I'm from LA and these are the best Pupusas I've ever had. Like shook. Like was not expecting that. Perfect. For such a simple food a lot places kinda much it up. Their plain cheese one is stellar. They crisp it perfectly. Check it out. read more

Pupusas Ridgewood - two plates of food on a table - Salvadoran Near Me - Ridgewood, New York

Love pupusas ridgewood! I've only every tried their pupusas, so can't speak to the other menu items, but every flavor combination I've had delicious. The huitlacoche is probably my favorite. The owners are really kind and friendly. The food comes out fast. I love the cute outdoor dining area in the summer! It's a good spot for a low key date or to grab a meal on the go. read more

Such a delicious and filling meal for an incredibly reasonable price. Can't go wrong with the bean & cheese, but I've also tried the chorizo, chicken mole, and revueltas, all rich and satisfying in their own way. I truly cannot get enough of the curtido. And no matter how busy they are, service is always friendly and timely! A gem of a spot read more

Tasty affordable filling and definitely work a try. Since I first moved in Dec 2020 the Pupusas have definitely gotten better. read more

These were not worth 5$ each .. the cheese is hard n they only give a small container of red sauce-.- that's only enough for 1 .. you would think paying 10$ for 2 stiff a$$ papusas there would at least be enough sauce to soften them up. read more

Service is terrible. I've had food from here before and it was just ok. But today really did it for me. I placed and order about 20 minutes ago. I arrive and they said they have no record of me calling placing the order. I showed them my phone so they could see their number on my phone log. The lady was rude and obnoxious, saying well we don't have your order ready. I don't remember you calling. Are you kidding me..... I just called placed my order spoke to a women and gave them my name. This is unacceptable customer service. Why are they even acting like that when I'm the one paying. I'm beyond upset. I will never ever order from here again and I suggest you don't either. Mind you, we live in NYC a place where there are restaurants in every corner!! read more

Yayyy!! Finally we have pupusas in the neighborhood. I've only been waiting 5 years! Stopped by today and got 4 dif pupusas for bf & I. I had the chicken tomato cheese and the zucchini and cheese, he had the chiccharon and cheese and the beans and cheese. All were very good but I was surprised how much I liked the zucchini best. Curtido was good too. Also got a tamarind juice which was a nice sweet and refreshing way to end the meal. Everything was $3 each which is perfectly reasonable. They do take cards. They had pastries including rainbow cookie cake in the fridge and a large assortment of teas. Looks like a good place to stop for breakfast, not just lunch and dinner. So glad that they're here. Let's show them how much our neighborhood appreciates them and needs them! If you haven't had pupusas before, trust me you'll love them. Come get some! read more

If Pupusas Ridgewood was an animal, it would be 10 elephants enjoying the splendor of the field. Get 2 of everything (seriously)

I was very excited to try this spot, seeing as though I'd been craving pupusas. The service was good. I didn't wait too long before my order was ready for takeout. Once home, the pupusas stayed nice and hot and came with curtido and tomato salsa . The pupusas were not bad. It satisfied my craving, however they weren't the best I've ever had. The taste was bland and just not all that flavorful. I had the revueltas and frijole con queso. All in all, they were good I've just had better in Brooklyn so I don't have the need to compromise. If you're wondering I was told they're open until 10 PM on a Sunday. There was also outdoor seating available. read more

Pupusas Ridgewood - Storefront - Salvadoran Near Me - Ridgewood, New York

I love their horchata, it's not grainy at all. I come by all the time to grab some $6.50 for a large.

I had seen this place posted in a Ridgewood community group and was walking by here when I decided to try. I've never had a pupusa before so it was my first time and I was not disappointed. The service is friendly and your food is cooked to order; I was pleased at how filling one pupusa was and would be happy to return to try the different types. Nice addition to fresh pond and Im glad to support a new restaurant in the area. read more

Saw them on a list of great spots on the Eater website. So good! I sat outside. It's a fairly chill street. I had 3 types of papusas: beans and cheese, chicken and cheese, and poco de todo. The chicken and cheese was my favorite. Lots of good crispy bits. The cabbage and salsa were fresh and delicious. I should have asked if they had a spicier hot sauce cause the salsa was mild. Also had a refreshing chan fresco. read more

Best Pupusas EVER! We finally got a pupusas place in Ridgewood. They are delicious and cheap. If you're new to pupusas the best one to try first is the REVUELTAS(if you eat pork). If not the Beans and Cheese is good too. The right way to eat it, is with the sauce and the coleslaw together, not separate. Very important. The coleslaw has to be covered with the sauce. This place does an amazing job with all these components, flavor wise. My only suggestion is to include more sauce with each order. Love love love pupusas. read more

I got the spinach and cheese it was the perfect lunch time meal. I also got cucumber lemonade it was the most refreshing drink ever! Definitely going to come back . This place is amazing and affordable! read more

The food and drinks were great,it's just the wait is a bit long about 15-20 min.Other then that this place is great.

Pupusas were undercooked, you could taste the chunks of flour. Also, had the water down chicken soup. Lady at the front was also very rude. 3 thumbs down. read more
