Cheese Burger Empanada (wheatflour) Fried Calamari

Second time coming here. Service was quick and perfect. We just grabbed a small bite but I got full with the calamari and the empanadas. They were so delicious. I went crazy over the sauces and the complimentary plantains. I definitely want to come back again to try more food on their menu. Oh and their music choice is excellent!

I looked out! Visiting Brooklyn for my birthday weekend and I found this little gem. As soon as we walked in and we were already free mimosa, and they accommodated us with some plantain chips and fresh guacamole. But it only gets better.. The empanadas were so good and they have chicken and waffles!! What! A full bar , clean, and excellent customer service

I was so excited when I got the chance to try this restaurant! When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked into a cute restaurant and was greeted. I was greeted by the owner, George, who was super nice and was served by the manager Nico and the bartender Jenn, and they were great! We had different cocktails and food, including the plantain chips w/ Morita salsa, cerviche, Elotes, infused (drink), Octopus Avacado salad, fish tacos, skirt steak, and stuffed chicken. I really loved the old-fashioned drink, which was strong. I also loved the stuffed chicken. Let's not forget the delicious dessert. I had a really wonderful experience

Wow! We were told the empanadas were fantastic but they were better than that. My wife had the chicken melt and I had the beef. The service was excellent and the ambience was fun and modern. Highly recommended

Picked up two beef empanadas and both taste amazing and they were very full I went to the location at city point they have the stand right in front of primark. Service was good although I was confused at the menu a bit bit the lady helped me out I will be going back this was a quick bite to eat on the go

I'm still thinking about how delicious the empanadas were at Empanada Loca! I've never seen such a variety of empanadas on a menu before! I thought it was really cool that they had a whole brunch menu as well, with interesting dishes like the chicken & waffles with gold leaf! The complimentary muffins and mimosa toast were so nice too. Professional and attentive service with beautiful decorations and presentations of every dish. I'll definitely come back if I'm in this area of Brooklyn again!

I did want to love this place but somewhere between the facelift of high end Mexican restaurant status, the place lost its roots. The gold foil is such a disconnect from the neighborhood and its families. It is hard to envision families sitting at a table gold leaf dishes and I wish the chef understood the neighborhood a bit better. True - an elevated Mexican restaurant is an amazing place to be apart of but when you lose out to connection, there isn't really a point to a place to eat and visit!!!

    No seasoning, no good.

We've ordered from the Empanada Loca in Park Slope before, twice. We really enjoyed our chicken, beef, veggie and spinach empanadas before, but today 5/2/25 all of them were horrible. absolutely no flavor whatsoever. It so disappointing that all flavors were bad. chicken, dry. Stems in the veggie. We will not order for Cinco de Mayo or ever again.

I don't know what was going on here tonight. I don't know if someone was trying to get extra tips so they charged a false price or what but I'm extremely dissatisfied. I've dined here a few times and was very happy every time. The food was good and decently priced. My favorite is definitely the mini bandeja paisa which is only 22 dollars and you get a good amount of food! Tonight I was waiting for my take out and decided to add a brownie and cookie. It was nothing special. Just a plastic wrapped chocolate chip cookie and brownie at the front (picture provided). The ones you might see at a school PTO meeting. They charged me $10.49..thats almost half a bandeja paisa for a home baked cookie and brownie. I know inflation is happening but come on.. Levain cookies is cheaper than that..

We didn't have a reservation, but we went the day after a snow storm so it was pretty quiet. At first we were the only customers, but they slowly filled up during our meal. I would describe the inside as 'rustic cute'. It feels very cozy with the exposed brick, wooden tables, and soft lighting. For food we each did the Prix Fixe which lets you choose an appetizer, entree, and dessert. For appetizers we got the Chileatole and the Anticuchos. For entrees I got the Grass-Fed Skirt Steak and my boyfriend got the Pato en Mole Poblano. For dessert we both got the Bread Pudding. I thought the Prix Fixe was a good deal for the quantity and quality of food. Everything was prepared fresh and tasted delicious. Favorite bites were the Chileatole soup and the Skirt Steak. Our server was super friendly and approachable. Overall it was a really good experience and I would definitely return the next time I'm visiting the area.

(8 out of 10) I mean this sincerely... everything was beyond flavorful. The rotisserie garlic chicken had to be my favorite bite of the night but each empanada included in the sampler was crispy, tender, and decadent; each one leaving its own individual mark. Seriously blown away and might even had to stop in to try the food at the restaurant next time. Can't wait to see order from here again!

Food: This place is quite bad. We ordered the tortilla soup and the vegan tofu chimichurri. The tortilla soup was inedible it was so salty. The tofu was grilled and entirely burnt on the bottom. I had to slice the entire bottom off. The chimichurri sauce was flavorful. The yellow rice side seemed like bagged instant rice. The maduros were good. Did not try the alcohol but they had a large selection including non alcoholic options. The place adds a 20% auto gratuity fee. Kind of absurd on a 2 person check. I am Latina so perhaps I have a higher expectation for Latin food but I'm perplexed at how this place could have such high ratings, perhaps it was just a bad night. I would never go back and would not recommend.

They were rich and flavorful without being greasy or dry. They also came with plantain chips and a garlic sauce on the side, which was a nice touch. I also really enjoyed the guava pastry.
