The empanadas here were worst than I remember. I'm not a fan of their menu. The bag was soaked in grease and the empanadas were salty. The chicken had a sour taste so I threw it out. . This place is mid and there are way too many good spots in BK and Queens to eat terrible empanadas. 0/5 The tres leches cake is so bomb. I was so surprised. It was the best I've had in recent years. If I'm ever in the area and craving Tres Leches, I would stop by. Other than that, its a wrap for me eating Empanada City empanadas. read more

I have been to Empanada City on many occasions and every empanada I have tried is crunchy, warm, and full of flavor. My favorite is the S'mac and chicken which is filled with buffalo chicken and mac & cheese. It is always flavored to perfection. There is a vast list of vegetarian options with various fillings such as spinach and ricotta. I recently discovered that they carry apple pie empanadas. They are apple pie fillings with an empanada crust. The apple pie has a light cinnamon flavor and is full of apples. The empanadas are made to order and are always warm. They have a fill beverage menu and my favorite is the limeade; its topped with a fresh orange slice and blueberries. I would definitely recommend trying the limeade, its sweet, sour, and fresh. The shop has ~10 seats and I've never had any problem finding a place to sit. The empanadas can take up to 15 minutes to be prepared because they are made to order, but I think it is truly worth the wait. read more

We tried a few different empanadas from here, and enjoyed the ropa vieja, mac n chicken, and bbq chicken. The bbq chicken, while tasty, didn't seem to have any bbq sauce so it was lacking flavor. My fiancé didn't enjoy the brocolli and mozzarella. Overall they were very fresh and hot, super crispy, and a decent size. read more

Three snaps yes yes yes! I was looking for some juice yesterday dehydrated as usual and no breakfast at like 1pm. Google said one place I walked 2 blocks and they didn't have juice I almost cried. But-but I got it together rechecked the map and chose a quest to this place. I ended up calling ahead to ensure they had juice and to figure out the directions because the map was somehow inaccurate. Empanada city offers plenty of options of tasty empanadas. We went on a weekday for lunch and it was relatively empty. They have a few seats inside. I ordered 3 empanadas, the ground beef, cuban, and ropa vieja, and enjoyed them all. The exterior was crispy, and there was a generous portion of filling inside each empanada. I appreciated how each empanada was labeled so you know which one you are eating. The avocado sauce was a bit too creamy for me and I didn't taste the avocado. They advertise the empanadas as 4-5 inches but they felt closer to 3 inches. Regardless, it is a great place for a filling meal at a decent price point! read more

I'm not sure what's going on but I'm discontinuing ordering from here due to the service that has been received when it comes to deliveries. This time, the courier (Terri) allegedly delivered my food after I placed an order from this restaurant. They ran my doorbell and by the time I got to main door, Terri was gone... as well as my food. I'm not sure if Terry took my food to appear as if it was being delivered or someone swooped in and was monitoring the courier and stole it. I've already filed a complaint to the app from where I made my order. Another instance, which was some months ago, I went in person and the cashier/attendant at the restaurant was a bit dismissive. Unfortunately, I don't recall the young lady's name but they had long, dark hair. My overall experience is that the food is in fact good but the service at both in-store and via delivery can/should be better. read more

I love empanadas so when I saw this place on the same block as my work event I was excited to try it for lunch. However, I was beyond disappointed. The empanadas had no taste , no seasoning , the cheese in it wasn't melted it was just thick clumps of cheese. I didn't even eat the empanadas just threw them out after a bite of each. The 2 stars are for the berry limeade , that was very refreshing! read more

Empanada City does have some of the best empanadas I've had and a wide variety as well- there is truly something for everyone. The ones that I tried included the ropa vieja, pastelon, and the shrimp. Everything was absolutely fantastic and had such a generous amount of filling. The shrimp empanada had at least 4-5 shrimp and the ropa vieja was packed with delicious shredded beef. The pastelon wasn't my favorite but it wasn't bad at all. I will definitely be ordering from here more- I didn't have any expectations but if I did they were 100% exceeded. I will 100% order from here again if not get catering for an event! read more

So I saw this place on IG. I had to try it. I drive for 30 mins to get there. I walked in it was clean and nice vibe. People started to coming in to order. Me, sis & mom said okay let's try shrimp, bbq chicken, Rv, veggie, Mac n cheese and the jerk chicken. We said please nothing spicy he said no problem. Well we got our food and couldn't tell which is which b/c they all were in the bag together. We all got passion fruit drinks. Okay I'm no happy about that. Then we proceeded to taste. Shrimp, bbq & RV was the best. We couldn't eat the others b/c too damn . We got 1 sauce with all these empanadas. I asked for 1 more he said 60 cents. Now we just spent about $54 for all this. I'm just saying if I ask for NOT spicy empanadas and I get spicy. I should be able to get 2 more to replace the mistake. He said no it will be a charge. Okay take the drinks back and refund me. Well guess I shouldn't have look on IG for food. That was a bad service, not honest with customer. read more

**3.5 stars** Farabe and I came here because who can say "no" to an empanada? Everyone loves the fried pillows stuffed with goodness. Upon entry, we were greeted with tantalizing food smells. The restaurant had no indoor dining option available but, two tables outside. I noticed that most of the cashiers and service personnel wasn't wearing any masks. One of them had an air bud in her ear and I had to keep repeating myself. I didn't notice any music playing in the background so, I am guessing she was listening to her own music. It was just annoying to have to repeat myself a few times when she could just removed her headphones. Overall, I actually felt like the service was a bit lacking and unfriendly to the point of being rude. I ordered originally a shrimp and a plain chicken but, then downsized because of the attitude of the staff and because I was a bit annoyed that they charge extra for sauce (.25c). I feel like usually empanadas come with sauce and it's free. The plain chicken empanada ($2.50) was delicious and stuffed full with filling. Sometimes, you would bite into an empanada and get more air than filling. This wasn't the case here. The chicken was flavorful and tender. The empananda didn't need sauce but, when Farabe went to buy a container, they said they didn't have any available. I like that the outer layer was crispy and not greasy. Also very cute that they have a mold that prints the flavor on the crust in case you order multiple flavors. read more

Much has been said and deliberated on the topic of where to get the best empanadas in the city, and one bite of the ones from Empanada City and there's no doubt in my mind that these are it. Their extensive menu of over 20 different empanada fillings may have you believing they are a jack of all trades and master of none, but I tried a medley of fillings and thought every bite was a party in my mouth. They delivery quickly and and the empanadas always come piping hot when they arrive, wafting the amazing smell of fried dough through the room. Each crispy dumpling is stamped with their store name but also the filling of each so you don't have to wonder about the fillings and confuse one for another. Their filling offerings include BBQ chicken, shrimp, codfish, pizza burger, and broccoli & mozzarella, among many others. I love that they offer multiple vegetarian and even pescatarian options, so there's something for every palate. I particularly enjoyed the really flavorful shrimp empanada and another filled with guava and cheese. I'm chuckling remember someone posting a photo on Yelp at a different business of the inside of an empanada that lacked any filling and called it "empty nada." These are anything but empty nadas and is very much like a city full of the best empanadas you can get your paws on. read more

Lots and lots of options here for us empanada lovers. Whether you're a meat eater, pescatarian, or vegetarian... you can find an option for you. I went on a quiet Monday night and was pleased at the speed they were able to make my food. The empanadas came out piping hot & were a decent size for the price. I enjoyed the shrimp, spinach, and sweet plantain empanadas but wasn't a fan of the mixed vegetable one. I also like that they have dessert empanadas which is a fun twist I'll definitely try next time. Overall a nice spot for a quick bite. read more

After months of being on my list of places to try, I finally tried Empanada City! They offer so many different empanada fillings to choose from, it's almost too overwhelming in a good way! Perfect option for a quick lunch on the go! I decided to go with the shrimp, Americana, and Cuban. I honestly couldn't even pick which one was my favorite, because they we all THAT good!! I was a little disappointed with the rice and beans though. It lacked in flavor and was bland. My beans were also on the harder side and could have been cooked through more. The empanadas are made fresh, so expect to wait a few minutes. Next time I come I'm looking forward to trying their smoothie options! read more

First of all: this place still serves some of the empanadas I ever had, and I am very excited about the new shipping service nationwide given that I don't I've locally during the week. That being said, over the past months the quality previously fantastic service has dropped quite a bit. Staff behind the counter is frumpy and my past four online orders all had some mistakes. One was lost entirely, in others the sauces I ordered weren't added to the bag, were incomplete or got mixed up - with no explanation. I will keep ordering empanadas here - at least for now, but I sincerely hope that the expansion in delivery doesn't result in the quality of the local service degrading any further. read more

Wow what a treat! I was driving distance from this restaurant and craving empanadas for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this is a Dominican empanadas place. The aesthetics are very clean, modern and hip with a small seating area inside. The staff was super friendly, our register guy even went out of his way and set up a cute table and chairs outside of the restaurant so that we can enjoy the beautiful weather while we indulge in our empanadas. We ordered quite a few and they were all super delicious and flavorful, the favorites were the Shrimp, Ropa Vieja, and the loaded chicken that came with tomatoes, bacon and cheese. Being Dominican myself, it took me to my childhood drinking the Morír Soñando (to die dreaming). If you've never had it, give it a try! it's a silky concoction of orange juice, sugar, evaporated milk over ice. It's a nice smooth light drink perfect for a beautiful summer day. I wholeheartedly recommend Empanada City, whether you're looking for a snack, lunch or dinner and make sure to try the Morir Soñando you won't find a more refreshing drink then this. read more

Had these empanadas for the first time last night. This felt good. I walked in and was immediately greeted warmly. Empanadas were the perfect ratio of crust to filling. Great, unique flavors. My friend suggested coming here after a local visit to a few establishments and I'm glad we did. Options are always welcomed. The space itself stood out immediately with its cute, colorful, modern exterior on a mainly monochromatic block. We went inside to salsa music playing and employees have a lighthearted chat. At first they seemed a little gruff, but we would soon see an influx of pickup orders customers revolving in and out. I ordered the apple pie one and returned immediately to order 2 "plain chicken" (Def not plain, very savory). There was a small wait, but it was only because these treats are made to order! How nice!!! A freshly fried empanada without being in a cuchifrito state of being, lol. The apple pie one was a little disappointing, the apples were hard and a little plain. Really good option if you are craving empanadas and/or smoothies! This spot is clean and cozy with a few small tables for indoor dining. Service was quite efficient as we received our drinks within minutes of ordering. We ordered several empanadas (pizza burger, shrimp, americana, bacalao, ropa vieja, cuban) and two drinks: a frozen piña colada and avo-mango smoothie. The empanadas were hot and crispy and had sufficient filling. Our favorites were the shrimp and the cuban! History

Established in 2017.

Empanada City is a family-owned and operated business that opened its doors on May 5, 2017, in the Prospect Lefferts Gardens section of Brooklyn. Since opening, it has quickly grown to be a local favorite due to its great selection of empanadas, smoothies, and desserts. We recently opened our second location in our backyard in Bushwick. We invite you to visit us there as well where you will find the same great service and delicious food you've come to expect.

The Rodriguez and Almonte families are introducing empanadas that are infused with spices and flavors from our native Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Creating an unmistakable blend of meat, cheese, vegetable, and fruit-filled empanadas that are unique. Accent them with our three homemade dipping sauces that promise to keep you coming back for more. We use the same recipes that have been enjoyed by many over the years at family gatherings and during the holiday season, and we are excited to now be sharing them with you.

Farmacy aims to capture the nostalgia of an old fashioned soda shop and ice cream parlor. Immediately upon walking in we were greeted by aesthetics - the tile, fixtures, and decor totally give off that vibe. There are a few tables to sit as well as a large bar area with stools; I also noticed a few tables set up outside as well. The traffic flow is set up so that you order first and then have it served to you after sitting. Browsing the menu, I noticed they have a selection of ice cream scoops, shakes, egg creams, specialty sodas, hot chocolates, and a large variety of sundae creations. Since we were there for ice cream, we decided to split a sundae -specifically the Sir Twix-a-Lot. This was chunks for shortcake tossed in caramel and topped with vanilla ice cream that was coated in a chocolate shell. Overall I thought the sundae was solid - but the combinations of textures weren't my favorite to be honest, mostly with how the shortcake played with the ice cream. It wasn't bad though - the flavors definitely gave the Twix aesthetic. My only other issue with the dish was that because chocolate shell was used, any residue at the bottom was hard so you have to chisel it if you want to savor any last spoonfuls; I guess that comes with the territory. Service was good - everyone was friendly. It wasn't too busy when we were there so we had our selection of seats and our ice cream was ready pretty quickly. Overall, I'm glad I finally tried Brooklyn Farmacy out - they have a large selection so I would definitely return when I'm in the area again.

Recently got married in Brooklyn, NY this past June and had the best experience with Empanada City! Two weeks before our wedding we wanted to add empanadas to our cocktail hour. EC was not only able to accommodate 250 guest so last minute, but their empanadas were to die for! Everyone is still raving about them a month later! My favorite part was they were able to stamp the empanadas with hearts to give them that custom touch for our wedding . Thank you for making our special day even more special!
