This is a cute little taco shop. The service is good and fast, the workers are super polite. I purchased a Pollo Taco, Chips w/ Guacamole and Pico De Gallo. The chicken is shredded, there's two corn tortillas, it is garnished with pickled onion, cilantro and radish. This taco was loaded with flavored. That chicken was absolute perfection. They say this place has some of the best Mexican food in the city and I agree! Last night I tried : 1- Mix and Match tacos 2- Carne Burrito 3- Guacamole All three menu items were excellent. The carne burrito was definitely the best - packed full and delicious! They also included a side of salsa verde - not too spicy - authentic, just like the salsas I've had in Mexico. Unfortunately, the food did not wow me. That is not a surprise considering the lack of good Mexican food options in the city. The food here is okay, for a hole in the wall restaurant, it works, but I will not be back here. The birria tacos have zero character. It does not come with consume (a huge insult if you ask me), and it feels like a naked dish. Three served to a meal, it does come with an aji sauce that I felt was a danger to society. The richness of it is asking for a person to have a stomach contortion right there. I also got a shrimp burrito. While the shrimp are nicely seasoned and succulent, and the burrito is of a massive size, this reminded me much of the burritos I remember consuming in college. Amateur in taste with no queso to cover. I ended up eating it as a glorified shrimp salad than a burrito. The only true positive is its location. Only a short walk from the F and G train and Prospect Park. Take that what you will. For me, that is not going to do it. read more

You get a really large burrito here, with a ton of chicken, which is usually a good thing. However, I think the other ingredients in this burrito are not good and could be improved. There is way too much pico (and way too many raw onions) but not enough rice and beans. This burrito is close to being good, but just needs a better balance of filling! read more

Everything was made fresh to order. The chips that come with the guacamole are a little bit hard to bite. The birria taco had tons of meat, I could have made another taco with the meat. Shrimp taco had 2 big shrimp, I cut them up so there would be some in each bite. The store is in a small neighborhood, not a destination unless you're coming out of Prospect Park from that exit but there are lots of other food establishments in this area competing for your dollars. read more

Tried the tacos at an event and wanted to visit the restaurant - glad I did! The place is cute, staff super nice and the food is great. The birria taco isn't what I'm used to elsewhere - they don't dip the tortilla in the sauce and crips it up but the shredded beef is flavorful. The veggie taco was the sleeper hit. The chicken taco is why I have to knock off one star - it was pretty lackluster and didn't really have flavor. Cute shop in my old 'hood that offers tasty Mexican fare. It's small with a counter and a menu with more than just Mar or seafood as the name is TacooMar. Ate: Veggie bowl Beef bowl Total: $32 I was shocked there were no veggies in the bowl and veggie just meant no meat. My bf liked his beef bowl and I must say the beans were incredible. I've only had the tacos here but gaddam -- that'sa taco! For being the hole-in-the-wall kinda joint that it is (and I say that in the most positive way, everything is clean and nice -- including the staff) I wasn't sure what to expect but dang, what a difference well cooked meat and tortillas make. I also loved the green salsa, just the right amount of bite and flavor. Really tasty tacos! They had a limited taco menu with 4 types - my friend & I tried the birria tacos (shredded beef) and they were delicious! Super simple, yet flavorful. My other friend ordered the pollo burrito & said it was great, as well. It was quick & easy to order over the phone for pickup. (They do have a very limited seating inside) I was able to pick the food up ~10 minutes later & travelled about 45 minutes home before eating. If they were that good after waiting almost an hour, I bet they're even better if you can eat them "fresh". Great little shop! read more

I went there last night and they were very busy because there was a concert in the park. Teh guy at the register was great. He warned us of a 25 minute wait. No problem. Why?
