My go-to for A kbbq in this area!! Their service is usually pretty good and most tables have a call button. I love their variety of meats and sides for the AYCE. My favorite meats are the beef brisket, spicy beef brisket (has good sauce), beef tongue (be careful, can be easily overcooked) and cube steak. The pork belly and those variations are good too but can be very fatty. I always get the steamed egg and the kimchi stew. The stew is good because it has a lot of kimchi and a couple of pieces of rice cake in there. They also have some seafood, chicken, and vegetable choices on their AYCE menu. Try to go during off times because it does get busy and if you have a big party, expect to wait. The good thing is they have a back room with more tables to fit people. AYCE per person is around 30$ during dinnertime or weekends. read more

First time going last night and I would say I walked out pretty disappointed. The meats were standard pretty tasty, but there are no free refills on drinks (non water) and the dinning area is lack luster. The only thing that I found cool about this place was the sides, as they offer items that other kbbq don't have. They offer soups, ramen, tortillas, and more. The service that we got was not the best, I will like to add. If you want to have a big large party, their staff are not trained well enough. Multiple times we would have to wave down the waiters. They never once check in on us if we needed more water, meats, and or sides. They have a button that is supposed to called them over if you need help but it doesn't work. Also, they didn't even check if we needed a grill change and that's the bare minimum when working at this job. Overall would probably not come here again, would save myself a couple of more bucks at Gen (which is 5 minutes away from this restaurant) due to the main issue lack of bare minimum service. read more

It was a Saturday night, my girlfriends and I had spent most of our day at Sun Valley Mall. At the mall, there weren't options that appealed to us. So, when dinner time came around, we decided on having AYCE Korean BBQ. Upon walking in on a Saturday evening, there was a list at the front where you sign your name and wait for the host to call you. It took approximately 10 minutes to get seated. The main dining room was packed, but fortunately, there were additional rooms near the back of the restaurant. As we sat down, there was a digital menu that you obtain by scanning the QR code with your phone. Each table was separated by plastic dividers, which provided protection from other patrons. The server offered our table with a large pitcher filled with water. Browsing through the menu, there were various meats and small plates to choose from. My friends and I opted for Galbee Short Ribs, Bulgogi, Brisket, and Garlic Pork Belly. We also ordered Japchae, Spicy Soft Tofu and Miso Soups. The Spicy Soft Tofu soup had a good amount of spiciness and was perfect for the cold evening. The Japchae was simple, yet had a tasty sesame flavor. One of my friends is a big fan of miso soup and she described Ohgane's version as top-notch. As we were finishing up our small plates, our server arrived with a huge portion of the raw meats that we ordered. I have to admit, it was a fun experience grilling the meats! Out of all of the meats that I tried, the short ribs and the bulgogi were one of my favorites. The banchan also complimented well with the meats. Even though it was a busy night, I appreciate how our server checked up on us regularly and ensured that we had the correct items. For dinner on a weekend, I found the $30.95 per person price to be reasonable since they offer large portions of their meats. I also felt full and satisfied afterwards. And I highly recommend that you come here on an empty stomach since there are plenty of tempting food items to devour. Had a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner, all-you-can-eat, for $30/person. (Kids 7 & under are half price.) We tried 3 different flavors of pork belly, bulgogi, galbee, tongue, brisket, and rib eye steak, baby octopus, squid, and shrimp, rice paper, pot stickers, steamed egg, corn cheese, and pineapple. I may have forgotten a couple items. Still, there were a lot more things on the menu that we didn't get to try because that was all we (6 adults) could eat. The favorite at the table was bulgogi, but another really good thing is to eat the spicy pork belly together with the cooked pineapple. Try it. ;p The waiters were attentive and kept us supplied with meat and beer refills. We do a "Double-tip December" to celebrate Christmas. These guys truly deserved it. read more

Food: AYCE, you don't expect a premium kind of meat. Just up to par quality of meats. They do have quite a large selections of meats ranging from beef, pork, and chicken. Seafood selections are more limited to shrimps, squids, octopus, and mussels, which are less-likely to be perished once they're freeze in the freezer! However, their portions are huge. I only got three kind of meats, beef belly, pork belly, and a ox tongue, and I am completely full! I wish they can come in smaller portions l, so I can have an option to try more varieties of meats. The pineapples are not fresh pineapples, preserved can pineapple, which was a disappointment! Service: Very nice and gentle. They will come and change to grill plate once it was all burned. They will come by from time to time to check on us. Even though we're busy cooking! Ambiance: Smoky? What kind of ambiance do you expect in a Korean indoor bbq place? Maybe got them on an off day. The seafood was very mushy, mealy, and inedible. Friend said the popcorn chicken was old, not crunchy at all and tasted bleh like it had been sitting out a long time. We saw it untouched on other tables as well. Maybe you just need to know what to order, I'm not sure. The bulgogi got a fairly good review from the table, but overall meh. So good! Came here instead of going to the bigger chain KBBQ nearby for a double date, and so glad we did. It is reasonably priced, not too busy, and service was great. These are all things that I feel like we missed at the larger chain spot. We came here on a Friday night around 6:30. I called ahead in the morning to request a reservation, but that wasn't even necessary--they were busy, but not with a wait. When they seat you, you have a list of rules to follow such as only 5 items come out at a time, and the table needs to finish the meat or there will be a $40 charge. Completely understand these rules. The 5 item limit really helps you pace because it's a ton of food that comes out! I also can't imagine how much food goes to waste if they didn't have the $40 charge for leaving meat. They have a big list with a ton of variety to choose from. My fiancé and our friend had fun eating the baby octopus (yuck!) haha We all really enjoyed the bulgogi and ordered it a few times. Another favorite was the cheesy corn! Yum! They didn't have anything on tap when we went, but they had some bottles of beer to choose from. They had a lot of flavors of soju to choose from too. Get the pineapple! DATE: 08/07/2022 Korean BBQ restaurants are one of my favorite dining experiences to bond over with friends and family. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of great KBBQ restaurants around the Bay especially compared to those in Southern California (price, service, etc.) I do prefer Ohgane over other big chain KBBQ restaurants in the Bay, but my experience with this specific Ohgane location did not quite live up to my minimal expectation. Ohgane is quite pricey during dinner, thus I always try to make my money's worth whenever I go. This means that I come in hungry and eat less rice and more meat. Ohgane's all-you-can-eat menu is quite impressive with a variety of meat options and small plates. I typically do not need to order from the "add-on" menu because I'm already satisfied with what they offer with the basic tier. You can order 5 types of meat every round. Since we are a group of 6 hungry customers, we always maximize our orders. We also only like a handful of the meat options, especially the beef brisket, so we always ask for 2-3 brisket rather than 5 different options. However, whenever our brisket arrived, it was always one serving. We then asked for more brisket (2-3 orders again), yet they gave us only one. With the slow service and one serving every time, I then specifically asked for 2 separate bowls, and finally, the server understood. Maybe there's a rule that you can't order more than 1 of the same meat at a time? Additionally, Ohgane seems to be a little outdated compared to other rising KBBQ restaurants. They have a poor ventilation system. The grill is not as deep, so you may easily and accidentally burn yourself while cooking. Ohgane is not as exciting as it used to be since this was my family's go-to KBBQ spot growing up. I hope that they'll soon upgrade their machines and service to compete with other KBBQ locations. read more

I haven't written reviews in a minute. Like everyone else, the food is great. Portions are excellent for somethings. No complaints there. Although the Bonchon could of tasted better and the Tofu Stew was a little lacking in my opinion. I know its AYCE but some KBBQ AYCE spots, generally are a miss on Tofu Stews BUT rarely you do find one (OZ in Sacramento), great food and side dishes along with a quality tofu stew. Service, that was also just okay. Could of been speedier BUT I will say was better than GEN Concord's service too. BUT we had our table in the back room and the 3 stars is mostly for the poor ventilation system inside. How do you have over the grill/range hoods that don't seem to be sucking out the BBQ smoke? The kids and adults eyes were watering from the table. While yes, BBQ does smell great - the smoke making your eyes water isn't amazing. Side gripe that I know people will throw shade at: The last few other KBBQ places we've gone...yes typically you will smell like it after BUT for somethings you can't wash (Some nice coats or designer bags), generally airing out it will be better. BUT everything stunk to the core. Even after baby wiping things, airing it out, still smells like Ohgane....Not thrilled about that! Before I get "Thats why you don't wear nice things to KBBQ"...Um...I will give GEN and OZ that their ventilation systems are better because my stuff didn't stay smelling like KBBQ after the tips and tricks of getting odors out. So 3 stars is mostly for their poor ventilation system which for me, is apart of the experience of eating out. Its not just reviewing the food. TLDR: So just be prepared that its smokey inside, your eyes will water (if seated in that back back room at least) and don't wear anything nice or designer at least. We've gone here before everything got shut down, when restaurants were just starting to open up again, when outdoor seating was only allowed, and now when vaccination proof is required. We have never had a bad experience! Our favorite server is Gumi and it's always a delight when she is working and helping us out but the rest of the staff are always very attentive. Went here to try something new and it is my last time. The grill was dirty when we were seated and my pants got dirty from the knees of the dirtiness. The customer service was atrocious, waitress wouldn't even check up on us and walked away at one point while I was looking at the menu ordering. The food was ok but lamb was not fresh. Service was slow and not attentive so longer waits on the meat. My daughter and her boyfriend love this place, so we all decided to go. It's very busy, but we were seated rather quickly! I'm not gonna lie, I don't like cooking my own food at a restaurant. Being that there was 4 of us the initial cook time took a bit longer. After you get the hang of it, it goes a lot quicker. Just wish the bbq unit was a bit bigger to hold more meat to be cooked. I've been to this location a handful of times and it is so so good!! The quality of meat is great and I love all of their bonchon. They have buttons on the table to call for a server which I thought was a nice touch! They also have their sauces in bottles already on your table which is great especially for a brisket lover :) Only in the evenings have I had to wait a longer time here but I feel like that's expected at any kbbq place! On a weekend evening I believe I waited about an hour at most. The service here I feel is hit or miss. At my most recent visit the host/server were not the nicest. The host greeted us at the entrance and led us to a table. He kinda just pointed at the table and didn't even look back at us and walked away. Our server was also a bit rude. They have people come around often to take your empty plates which is great and the people doing that are always very nice. It could've just been a bad evening because usually I don't have issues with service here. One thing I do notice about this place and maybe it's their style of grill but there's always flames! Every time I've been here large flames have come up while cooking and could definitely be dangerous. I see tables around me all the time having the same issue. A few times I've had the grill turned down/changed and still had that issue. It does happen occasionally everywhere but it seems to be really often with their grills specifically. We went here recently with some friends and didn't have the best experience. We got there early and when we were seated at our table our server walked by our table 3 times before he approached us. Once he came to our table to take our order he forgot the sides after us having to ask 2 times. When we ordered meats we asked for 2 of certain items and each time we only received 1. When we brought up that we only received 1 the server appeared annoyed. We ordered the popcorn chicken and it tasted as if it had been sitting out. Overall not the best experience. First of all I'd like to say how happy I am that there is new staff.When I came here like 5 or so years ago, the waitress ran out to ask for a tip, like hello you don't go running after a tip, they either give it or not.We paid gratuity plus already did give a tip. Now back to the actual review The food tasted great, and I'm very pleased that the bulgogi and galbi actually had flavor marinated in.I've been to many Korean Bbq places where you cook the food yourself, and many of them don't marinade the bulgogi and galbi, especially the galbi. The service was professional and quick , the waiter would check on us, and the food would come out really fast.The only issue is that the men handing the food out would give us the wrong item from someone else's order or we would be missing something, but it wasn't bad enough that we would complain.Simple and ways mistakes that were taken care of right away. We actually had a significantly improved experience since or last visit. The restaurant had went through some updating since we last came in. They removes the LED lights and stopped trying to be another Gen. I love the fact they found their new identity. We had some top notch service from Gabriel or server. We never had to grab his attention, he was always checking in on us exactly when we needed him. His observational skill were amazing. We always had food coming and never had to press the button on the table to get attention. Kudos to Gabriel, definitely one of the best employees hands down. We were having such an amazing time as this was our first time having dinner here. Until this little thing started jumping around our table. The worst part was that they did not want to acknowledge what it was while the server was just staring at it wiggling it's little legs in our friends plate. I am just very disappointed in how they handled the situation, no apology was made whatsoever . The photos I posted are screenshots of a video we took before they took the plate to the back and said there's nothing they can do except not charge us for our sodas.... Wooowwweee!! This place rules. We were sat right away on a Friday night. The server took us all the way to the back room (this place is huge btw) and we were sat at a cozy table. We ordered brisket, ribeye, baby octopus, cow tongue, galbee, and bulgogi. The meat came in such big portions, I was nervous we wouldn't be able to finish it but we did a good job!! The AYCE was around $33 per person, which is pretty standard but also very reasonable with the amount of meat they give you. The staff were highly attentive and switched our grills out multiple times. Overall great experience! I will probably have to wait a year to return with all the food I ate lol read more

They've got the great table dividers, hand sanitizer all around, fans (lots and lots of fans), and open doors to get constant fresh airflow. I was all about it. Safety first. Woot. Having been to their Alameda location, and now Concord's as well...my preference is still Alameda on cleanliness and attentiveness. Food is solid. I noticed there were a handful of additional *new* items at the Concord location, which I hadn't seen in Alameda's. Tofu stew was a bit more bland here too. Otherwise, you've got your meats and seafood galore. P.S. ask for the ssamjang sauce. AYCE KBBQ spot. Came on a Saturday night at 5:00 PM and the place was packed with indoor dining. Waiters are wearing masks and enforcing masks when walking around the restaurant and to the bathroom. The service is good, but the staff seemed a bit spread thin and at times it was slow. Decent banchan favorites were the fish cakes, broccoli, kimchi, radish cakes, steamed egg, and corn cheese.
