Fulfilling the Prophecy was pretty good. Kind of munched it down pretty quickly but it was good. It had the sorta do it yourself diner but I still liked it. Think my only complaint was ordering before you sat down. Seems like a pain in the butt if a rush came in and took every spot and you having no clue what the hell just happened. All in all, good experience. read more

Other than the fact that this place becomes uncomfortable overcrowded with middle aged yuppies and their obnoxious (loud and often loosely running around) children, I absolutely love this place. Sometimes the food takes entirely too long to come out but as mentioned above it gets very busy. read more

I want to love this place and I once did but today I have decided to let it go. It's over priced spent 32 dollars for 2 people to eat. The bacon was raw on one half and burned on the other. How do you even do that. It's totally hit or miss on the food and I always leave hungry. It's to bad. read more

This place was seriously delicious!! But the line is very long and the wait time was ridiculous. After we ordered we waiting an hour and 15 minutes. Literally. I would love to come back again...don't know if its worth waiting there that long. read more

Nice, clean place in the cute downtown area. Waffles are a bit pricey, and the servings aren't ginormous, but the food is good. I got the Goat In Headlights. Enjoyed it, but I kind of feel like I could have made something similar at home and I can't say it was good enough to motivate me to come back. My cousin is a local and this is one of her favorite places though. read more

I had their spinach omelet, can't remember if waffles came with it. Probably, since that's what they mostly serve. All in all, it was good, filling, but good. read more

Before I begin, I'd like to say that despite my having the same names as the owner, we are in fact two different people. These waffles are amazing. You've all smelled this type of waffle before. At the lodge after a day of skiing, in the specialty pastry section of the mall, or even if you've been to Belgium. These amazing belgium waffles are beyond any other you've ever had - crispy sweet shell with soft amazingness inside. I could eat one of these every day of my life. In fact, I think the world would be a better place if everyone did. How could someone do bad after eating a waffle so good? You must try them and see what I'm talking about. Also, that redhead who runs the place is hilarious read more

What a great place! Their waffles are just amazing, and completely different from any I've ever had. The texture is very chewy, and the outside of the waffle is covered in caramelized sugar. Very delicious. They also have optional fillings, including strawberries, chocolate, pistachios, and goat cheese. Very good, and often organic. The restaurant is the left half of a duplex, and offers seating on the deck, and inside on different chairs and couches. The scene is very casual, and includes such oddities as a book trading shelf, a bartering wall, plenty of waffle-themed art (including a lamp cast into a waffle shape that the author is highly jealous of,) and a mysterious velvet curtain behind which the kitchen is located. The Orion brothers, owners of the shop, have the largest ginger afros you have ever seen, and are very friendly. The shop is very interesting to look around, which helps when the waffles can take 15-20 minutes to get to you after your order. Also disappointing is their complete lack of nutella as a filling, which is prominently claimed on their website, but absent from the restaurant. But I'm sure if a customer brought in a jar of nutella, the proprietor would be more than happy to put it in their waffle. New locations are on 13th across from the bijou, and a possible 24/7 location in the U of O campus. read more

Been here a few times now and love it! Truly Eugenian. Last night they made my first waffle a little small, so they included a second full-size waffle for free (without my asking). Needless to say the service is great. It can be hard to find seating often, but I still try all the time now! Such good late-night food... mmm. read more

If you go in expecting the usual waffle shop... you won't find it here! Uniquely Eugene with a very unique waffle! Lots of natural organic toppings. The Liege Waffle is addictive! A yeast batter with sugar in it makes for a very interesting a good taste & texture! I love them topped with goat cheese & kiwi with crushed hazelnuts! :-) read more

Everything comes together at this place--the delicious freakin' waffles, funky northwest atmosphere, friendly people behind the counter and off-the-beaten track strip mall location. The Self-fulfilling Prophecy waffle--egg, bacon and maple syrup on a crunchy waffle--was just that. As soon as I saw it on the menu, it had to be done. read more

Amazing! Wasn't sure what to expect but its an instant favorite. Relaxed, friendly, very clean and kid friendly, perfect for us! Can't wait to go again, soon! read more

Would go higher as the food is great but the weekend wait, location, and what appears to be absentee managers is brings it down. There staff seem overworked and overloaded and my guess is the owners dont seem to care. read more

Lots of great options for sweet and savory toppings! Good, quality ingredients. Delicious coffee, which is always a plus :) I will come back here next time I'm in Eugene! read more

The most delicious waffle I have ever eaten. Hands down. I always order Goat in the Headlights...an amazing combination of sweet and savory. My only complaint has nothing to do with the food. Their original venue is so uncomfortable! The front door doesn't stay closed and the heat isn't either on or on very low and it's really, really cold in there! So, we go to their venue downtown which is certainly warmer, but lacks the kitsch of the original site. Doesn't keep us from coming back, just wish the original venue would be more conscious of their patrons' comfort! Update 1-9-14...had breakfast at the downtown venue. Coffee (self-serve from a large urn), was lukewarm, and my Goat in the Headlights was cold. Since we were only two of five customers, why would my food be cold? And, the wait staff appear to not really care. Will give the other venue another try when the weather warms up. Where are the owners? read more

I love Off the Waffle! I'll miss this place a lot when I move out of Eugene in a few months. I've never had a bad waffle here, and my fiancee and I have been regular customers since they were operating out of the house on Van Buren several years ago. My only complaint is that there's not really enough seating at their Willamette location, which probably just speaks to how popular this place is, but it's still annoying when I just want to enjoy a delicious waffle and some of their really good coffee. It has lost a lot of its charm and funky atmosphere over the years, but they're still serving the best waffles I've ever had, so I keep coming back. I'm surprised that so many people seem to have such strong negative feelings about the maple syrup thing. It's never bothered me. The waffles are quite sweet and with toppings like fruit, cheese, and eggs, I've never thought they were dry. Even the plain originals are delicious. read more

Their waffles are off the wall. You can even eat one plain and it is still absolutely delicious! They offer a waffle for any time off flavor you are craving: savory, sweet, and in between! I've never had waffles like these before. The employees are friendly, and there is sometimes live music. If you are craving something different yet delicious, this is the place to go. read more

Amazing food! Downtown location has a more expansive menu, though the service has gotten much slower the past few months. Just be prepared to spend 45 minutes or so on your meal; it's not fast food and each entree is cooked one by one. Overall, delicious! read more

Whoever thought of putting ice cream on a waffle is a genius!!! Me and my friends each got a different waffle and shared them all. I don't think you can go wrong!! :) read more

fun, inspired waffles done the right way. First went there when they were slicing figs from their yard onto waffles. Great work and a nice progression into a "typical" restaurant. read more

A carb and sugar fest to be sure. But delicious, original and the place you want to take out-of-towners.

Unique, other-worldly delicious, the topping assortments so creative. Some of the combinations sound as if they wouldn't compliment each other, but they do! A must-must-must-try is the Goat in the Headlights. We were so disappointed when, for a time, the South Eugene outpost cut back their hours. It prevented us from coming as often as we'd like. We're delighted that they have returned to extended hours. We were there for dinner at about 5:30 p.m. on 7-23-15, and the young man who took our order and cooked our meal was delightful, and made us the best two meals we've ever had there! Wish we had gotten his name. So glad we have this wonderful restaurant in our town! read more

This is the best waffle place I've ever eaten at! The food combinations are mind blowing. The hot avo is to die for. A bit on the expensive side but they use quality ingredients. I prefer the south side location over the downtown one just because parking downtown can be challenging but the shop downtown is bigger so you're less likely to have a table wait. read more

I don't like the place that much because their waffles taste pretty standard. They also charge for syrup! This is America not Belgium and Americans use syrup on their waffles. Also they do not have a vegan option on their menu. Listen to your customers... The wait time in both places in Eugene are horrendous. Eugene is a small city there is no reason anyone should be waiting 30 minutes to seat down in a town of 150k. Other restaurants in the city that have more extensive menus don't have the same wait time so I'm curious why it's that way with OTW. Maybe hire more cooks to prepare the waffles and more efficient wait staff who don't talk to each other and stare blankly at customers when they order. They seem annoyed and frazzled most of the time. Organization is key to any restaurant and OTW doesn't seem that organized. I want to get the restaurant guy from that TV program to come and whip them in to shape. The concept of the restaurant is a great idea they just need the engineering to make it super great. read more

Very nice and friendly staff my friend came from San Diego and we has some very yummy waffles, I hope to come here again with my family.

Our kids favorite place to go on their birthday! Plenty of choices for kids and adults. Really unique restaurant. Bummer they close at 2, though. read more

3 stars. Food was good but we waited 1 hour for order. Seating/cafe design is also a problem at this location as patrons waiting to order and those who just ordered are standing around next to seated guests. read more

Oh off the waffle, I used to love you, but you have gone so downhill. When this place first became the hype I ate here all the time! The variety and combinations are incredible, but the prices and staff are not so much. I came here on a Friday morning and brought my friend from Florida who has never had anything like off the waffle where she is from. We waited in line for an hour, sat down waited for our food for an hour, and then when our food finally arrived certain parts weren't hot and it felt like it had been sitting out. At this point we just ate it because we were so hungry and just wasted most of our morning for this waffle. My friend then wanted an OJ when the line died down the girl at the front was doing nothing and wouldn't get it for her even though we were still standing there waiting. My friend said something to the girl and she was super rude about it. We asked to talk to a manager, but they gave us an email to contact our complaint. I have never gone back since and felt it was not worth the time and energy to complain. It was terrible! read more

While the waffle tasted good, there was a small selection and the waffle itself was even smaller. To pay 4.50 for a waffle that fit in the palm of my hand was just too much. Can't say I'll go back read more

I had heard the waffles here were good so I decided to give it a try. The waffles were good but I was a little repulsed at the thought of what I might be eating. The store was a disgusting mess. The floor was covered with nasty bits of who knows what, tables not cleaned and the place has a smell that I find horrid. I actually had to wait outside due to the fact the place made me feel so gross. The staff seemed rude and lazy, I find it rude for one to be sitting down while taking a order. I asked if they sold bottled water and got back a smirky response. We waited 30 min for 2 waffles in a store that had 4 other customers, listening to horrible music mixed with the music they blared from the kitchen clashing along side of it. The price is a little expensive but wouldn't mind paying it if the cleanliness was up to par. read more

We went on a weekend for a later breakfast and the line was not too bad a few people ahead of you. So, thought not too bad. My first time there with my freinds and we have heard great things about their tasty food. You get your drink while you wait, but we said we wanted the tea for one friend with the table and with the order. The waitress kept trying to give us the tea anyways so we got the drink anyways while we were waiting for a table. So, we didn't realize until too late the table seating situation is a free for all not in an orderly manner. So, a table became available and some people who came after us by about 15 minutes grabbed the table. So, we said we want it to go and took it with us. The food was great, but did not like that the cashier or waitress did not take charge of the dining area and seat you. read more

Love these waffles! Never disappointed! My favorite is the BMB. A classic but the flavors are always right on. Totally go there!

I remember when they started in small house and just had a cart. They deserve success as they make a unique product that is tasty and affordable! read more

Such a treat! Both locations (upper and lower Willamette St.) are fantastic - highly recommend this creative restaurant. Myself: I'm a savory fan. Sweet ones tend to be a bit overkill, but they have some freaky wizard concocting those savory waffle combos. Aaaaaand now I'm hungry. read more

I am dividing my rating this way...Food: 4 Star / Service: 1 Star...Which makes my rating a 2.5 if I value food and service of the same importance. We(2 of us) arrive at 9:45 am; order at 9:50 am. First plate arrives at 10:20, Second plate(which had to be redone because the order was not read properly) arrives at 10:25. Thus it took 30 minutes to make one waffle with a couple of "toppings" on it(first order). I looked around...7 booths and 2 tables inside; 5 tables outside...Just prior to receiving our order I noticed 8 other "numbers" on tables waiting for their orders too. Only saw 2 people working...One at the cash register and apparently(my perception) the one person who makes the orders also serves the order!?! Probably what I find most annoying about this experience is if you are going to make a significant portion of the dining experience "self serve" which this place does...You go to the cash register to place your order; you pour your own coffee and water; you get your own silverware and napkins and then you bus your own tables....All while asking people to pay $6-$7-$8, etc. for a waffle...At least HIRE / SCHEDULE enough people to SERVE the customers in a timely fashion. Furthermore, if you are short-staffed for whatever reason then make an announcement i.e. "We apologize..." The place is certainly small enough to do so. Otherwise if the normal staffing level is 2 people for the mid to late morning breakfast crowd...It is your restaurant and you can do what you want but it demonstrates a lack of concern for the overall guest experience. For me, I do not care how good the food is or how "typical Eugene" it might be(I grew up in Eugene)...If the OVERALL SERVICE for the PAYING CUSTOMER is lousy...I am not returning. Enough! read more

Excellent, high-end ingredients and recipes. We take family here to impress them when they visit Eugene!

I am a fan of this place for the gluten-free options, and the abundance of coupons in the Savvy Saver and coupon books handed out on campus. Sometimes the food seems too cold. Sometimes it's perfect. Sometimes I get syrup on my order when I ask for "no syrup." The "Self-Fullfilling Prophecy" is always a safe bet, and the South Eugene location is recommended rather than the downtown location. read more

I give the stars for the food only. Waffles are great. The service was awful at the 2540 Willamette location. They were busy and slow which was not the problem. Our food took more than 40 minutes to arrive. Unfortunately, when our waffles did show up my daughter did not receive her waffle. After 2 visits to the front counter to check on her waffle (and asking for a to-go box) an employee said "here's your food" without eye contact or any sort of apology. Care about your customers. You've lost us at this location! read more

Hands down best waffles in town - have yet to try one that I didn't like. Lack of adequate seating is the only reason I took one star away. FAN 4 LIFE! read more
