A friend took us here when we were visiting Eugene, and I was a fan. Coming from Chicago, I was impressed that this concept has not made it to the big city. The atmosphere was nothing exciting, and it did take a while for the waffles to come out, but man were they good! I had one with chocolate chips, bananas and chocolate syrup and added a side of bacon for a little crunch and protein. Counter-service brunch places are pretty much nonexistent where I live, but I would definitely hit up a place like this all the time if I had one nearby. read more

Blah, not a huge fan honestly. I'm not a breakfast person, because many people I know LOVE this place. They have some very unique things that would be interesting to try. Also, their waffles kinda of taste like cake. read more

I absolutely love the food, but the service can be horrible at times and I don't think a lot of the staff realizes that you can hear them talking in the back at both locations and its always an entirely different staff every time I go there, not surprising since most of my customer service complaints comes from both being ignored as well as the employee acting like they don't want to be there in the first place. read more

Awesome food and service! We tried off the waffle because it was a well rated local place (we are visiting from Los Angeles) and it had gluten free waffles. Every aspect of our meal was delicious, wonderful waffles, great toppings, delicious sauces. The gluten free waffle was the best I've ever had at a restaurant. We will definitely come back next time we are in Eugene! read more

Overpriced for what it is. Was excited to try this place and spent $20 on a basic waffle and drink and it was only slightly better than a waffle I could make at home read more

$$$ I love the food here. I love the service here. I love the wonderful attitude and feel of the place, even the strategizing to get a booth at the tiny Willamette location. And Yum! That sumptuous combination of savory and sweet in the Goat in the Headlights is beyond delicious. BUT... they have gotten SO DAMN EXPENSIVE! And I swear the size of the waffle is shrinking. With $3 coffee, $10+ waffle, $4 sides...take someone to breakfast and you are easily out $40 for two people. For breakfast. I will go by myself or take someone for a mid-morning snack and split an order. BUT...no more taking guests from out of town or all 3 of my grandsons. The single $ in the YELP description is inaccurate, to say the least. read more

Haven't been here is a long time. Ugh. Waffles are still good I hear. The service and the wait,, ugh. I'm going on 45 minutes right now ,,, Still no food. When I ordered, person at counter said "20 minutes" and seemed discouraged that I still wanted to order. Read another post from 4 months ago where the owner responded and said no longer than 15 minute wait. Intro read more

Went there yesterday and got the plain waffle. It was good, kinda the texture of a cake donut, but not amazing. For three bucks it was a good snack. Five bucks will get you a fancy one. I would go there again, probably late night after being at Max's for a while. read more

Great combinations with waffles. Fresh ingredients. Great service staff. Highly recommend for breakfast/brunch. Even the coffee, which is self serve is excellent. Yummy organic chocolate milk too. read more

I had the Goat In Headlights! Absolutely delicious!!! Off the Waffle is the best breakfast place in Eugene!

Environment is a little lackluster, waffles are awesome just remember, liege waffles are sweet really sweet, no syrup needed, order savory!

Amazing waffles and even more amazing bacon! Great little place for breakfast. Their gluten free options are also really good (can make the waffles gluten free), along with majority of their sides. We'll definitely be coming back when we're in the area again! read more

OMG! Off the Waffle was off the hook! The brown sugar glazed bacon alone is worth the trip. Prepare for a line-up and to wait for your order but completely worth it. Servers were fantastic, friendly and on it even though they were swamped. read more

We ate here not once but twice during our visit to Eugene. It was delicious and we will definitely be back and cannot wait to try more of their waffle concoctions! read more

I have never had a waffle like this one! I had the regular waffle and it was incredible. A really nice homey feeling and the person making the waffles was very nice! The waffles are served in a paper bag and do not need syrup. My husband had the waffle with bananas and the bananas were stuffed inside the waffle after it was cooked. So crisp, sweet and delicious! read more

Waffles. I'm not a huge fan. My sweetie is. Ok, let's go. Well, these are some damn tasty treats. Crispy. Sweet. Fluffy. Dessert for breakfast! I also ordered an omelette. It was super bland. Can I get some salt?...there's none on the table. It's a 'help/serve yourself sort of place'. Coffee and cups in a nook by the register, salt? Steal it from another empty table. This gets tedious. We have a party of 5. Coffee refills are quite the production! I wouldn't bring a large group here, but I might go back for the sweetie's sake. read more

Cyclops the Greek is a favorite! They take little time to serve the orders but the food is really good!

Absolutely love this place. I swear I could eat here everyday and have no complaints. Goat in the Headlights and the Self Fulfilling Prophesy are staples here and are so delicious. A must stop in Eugene. read more

The heat, to which our fogged bodies were not accustomed, brought forth an enormous thirst. We searched as individual kernels of a single sand storm for moisture, bristling against one another along the way. Our journey came to a brief pause at the oasis of "Off the Waffle." A pink lipped girl greeted us, balming our road worn skin with the smooth that slid across the remaining distance on her very breath. These waffles were not like those of our own harsh land. They were crooned into being by buttered heat that seeped rather than scratched. We absorbed them along with the sweet coffee--all sweet now, sweet and soft--watching the reflections of our growing bellies bowed across the filled, emptied, and refilled carafe. As we set out once again into the wilds, we shared a single moment of crystallization, our many shards coalescing into a single pane of clear glass. read more

Really neat ambiance! Casual fun place to grab breakfast!!!

I was here in May. The waffle was crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside- absolutely perfect! Had the one with the apple and cheese - wow!!!! The employees? Nice. Smiling. Jovial. The coffee? Excellent. The bacon? It's what dreams are made of. Probably the best bacon I've ever had in my life. I'm 54, that's a lot of bacon. Don't worry about a line, customers move through quickly. read more

Best waffle I've ever had, hands down. A little pricey but if you're looking for a quality breakfast over quantity, then this is the place to go! Server was really nice and easy on the eyes read more

I liked this place a lot. Just finished eating here, and the service was not bad, especially for a Eugene resteraunt. I don't usually like waffles, but these were worth the stop we made. No wait at all, but I heard we stopped here on a slow day. Good place to stop for a quick bite. :) read more

After all the talk about this place, I had to check it out for myself! And, it's just as good as my friends had said. The two brothers that run the place are friendly and you can tell love what they do. The waffles are absolutely amazing and you can't beat the price. If you haven't tried Off The Waffle, you must! read more

Went here for a quick breakfast and had the best waffle I have ever tasted! I tried the Original Waffle and it was crunchy, sweet and delicious. The inside of "Off the Waffle" is very cute, with drawings lining the walls and it had a very "at home" feel. I will definitely be coming back! read more

I love this place! If only it weren't so far from my apartment, though I suppose that is a good thing for my belly and my wallet. The waffles are truly something else, more than your average waffle. It's deliciously sweet and crunchy and oh so good. Their portions though are a bit small and unless you get the brunch special, a normal person may still be hungry afterwards. Seating is also a bit of a problem in the weekend mornings and there are often children running around. However, I went during the winter so this may be a problem solved by their outside seating now. I would definitely recommend this place as a dessert place, since most of their waffles are sweet with fruit and a huge pile of whipped cream on top. Not necessarily the healthiest of breakfasts, but still delicious. read more

If you like your waffles extra sweet and crunchy you'll love this place. pretty decent and interesting but not really something I would crave every weekend. odd and small setup. coffee was mediocre and self serve. read more

I thought it was pretty amazing all the things they put on waffles. The food was pretty good. It's nice to get a waffle that isn't super sweet--but also have the option of super sweet dessert-like waffles. Being a new visitor, it would have been nice to have an idea what to expect. You get your own water and seat yourself. When we went, there were no signs indicating as such--or at least signs that were obvious. read more

The food is divine but the service is lacking. There was no coffee available until the end of our meal. When we arrived only one table was taken so it certainly wasn't due to being busy. The great food makes up for most of the lack of friendliness and service. read more

The best waffles i've ever had! The inside is congested when busy, I had to excuse myself through a large line just to get coffee refills. Service was a little slow, but totally worth it. I would go there for breakfast any time. read more

Excellent and creative food. Not a fan of the slow service, but a breakfast beer kept me happy. Be prepared to wait if you come on the weekends. read more

Great waffles, you just need to be open-minded. They have always been great in terms of speed out of the kitchen when you think how busy the plsce is. On a final note, if you bring your dog they will give it delicious treats! read more

Best chocolate milk in the world and the most beautiful little lady who serves them. Corey? I believe that's her name, she was wonderful and very sweet. read more

I love this place! It's great for breakfast and lunch. They also have a nice selection of teas. I highly suggest the goat in the headlights.

Delicious! Many choices. We enjoyed Off the Waffle's catering options for a morning meeting.

Good stuff, I just don't go to that side of town much. Downside pretty crowded, wait in line to order food, then, uh where do we sit? Waffles have always been pretty dang good, nice coffee too. If I'm on that side of town and hungry I will stop by unless the line is out the door. read more

Love this place! The food is fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is catchy. We always receive friendly service. We try to get there before 9a to beat the crowds on the weekends, otherwise expect to wait for your food. I usually order Goat in the Headlights. The hubby prefers The Bombastic. The organic hot chocolate is scrumptious. There is a great list of organic herbal teas as well. read more

We LOVE Off the Waffle! It has somehow become our "go to " place when deciding where all three of us want to go, and for special occasions! Hard to explain to someone how and why a waffle that has goat cheese and basil and avocado is SO GOOD. :-) It just IS. And the staff is always so friendly and kind :-) read more

I didn't even really want to come here, but the SO arranged it with friends, so ya, what ever. I mean...waffles as a meal? I just wasn't interested. OMG! I had some bacon basil reduced basalmic vinegar concoction that changed my opinion of waffles for life. Friggin awesome! Loved it! Such complex and seemingly odd flavor combinations but they really, really worked. Try it, I strongly recommend giving it a shot. read more

Excellent, tasty waffles. Seemed understaffed for the number of customers, which slowed service; although, the staff were very pleasant and helpful throughout. We had the "No, really though" (mostly savory) and "The Overachiever" (Sweet), both very tasty and a good sized portion without being overwhelming. Can't wait to stop in to the Portland location now that we're home. read more
