Slightly unique. Always delicious. Pretty much can't go wrong with anything. If you don't like Sunnyside up eggs, they'll gladly top you waffle with and "omlette style" egg - don't ask for scrambled. read more

Looks dirty. Food was meh and took forever. Would not recommend. Also no gluten free options

I have had breakfast at each location once, will not return. My opinion on each: Downtown location... Coffee pot was empty. Side of bacon was warm and delicious, waffle with apples was delicious. My O.J. was fresh squeezed, outstanding. South Eugene location, this morning... Original waffle- hard, not even lukewarm, obviously made HOURS earlier. Awful. Side of bacon - overcooked, turned into bacon-dust at the first bite, not remotely warm or freshly cooked. Awful. O.J delicious. Coffee pot empty. The help not at all motivated at either place. If you are going to charge these prices, you should wait on your customers, pour and refill their coffee and make their breakfast to order. Not recommended. Not returning- ever! read more

10/10 would definitely recommend to anyone in Eugene. I always get The Wiffle. My boyfriend usually gets the Goat in Headlights. Both are very good and I would recommend them. The place is always busy on the weekends, but if you're committed to going it's definitely worth it. It's a great place to get a cheap breakfast. read more

Food is not bad. However it's way under staffed. Coffee is empty and clean utensils ran out. Missing order and wait time is way too long.

I'm baffled as to how, mid-afternoon on a Sunday in a half-filled restaurant, it could take over 15 minutes for a latte and over 30 minutes for a to-go waffle order. When the hungover bros who ordered several minutes after me got their orders while I was still left waiting, I knew some sort of mistake had been made. I refuse to accept the premise that a business staffed by students is bound to lead to inept service. Hire competent employees please. P.S. On an unrelated note, if your business is going to have different menu items at your two different locations, post two different menus on your web site. I went to the South Eugene location excited to try the CMB Stuffer listed on the menu (a waffle sandwich stuffed with fried chicken, havarti and basil....mmm), only to discover that that item is available exclusively at the downtown location. read more

OK! I'LL ADMIT IT! I was a little smitten when I first tried out OTW. I feel as if we have been married for some time now and those butterfly's have worn off. This really is more of a "snack" or "dessert" in my opinion. They have some crazy combinations that taste fairly good but I can't justify paying 7-8 dollars for a liege waffle with a small sprinkle of melted cheese and 1/8 of an apple and topped with an egg. I would also like to address the booths, why are they all ripped up? I feel like I am in a dump and its labeled as very "Eugene" or for hipsters? NO! Don't get me wrong, I enjoy their sweet waffles which are a hair cheaper, but none of this $1.25 extra for whip cream BS. read more

This place looks really good but unfortunately they have no vegan options listen. If you guys can change that, I will certainly stop by and re-evaluate my review. There's so many people looking for a good vegan waffle out there! read more

What is the big deal about this place? Boyfriend and I went for breakfast. The waffle batter is solid and tastes pretty good, but jesus it's over-priced. I got the bacon basil and havarti- it was decent, but, again- over priced and small. My boyfriend got a pulled pork waffle, and it was abysmal. He didn't even finish it because the pork was so poorly made. There were maybe 4 other people in the store. Still took about 20 minutes I get a bit annoyed when my tab comes to $15+ and you're expected to bus your own table. This is my personal problem I can't get over: Who makes their own face the logo of their restaurant? Seriously. read more

Let me start by saying i have eaten these waffles ever since these guys had a 24 hr cart on 13th ave years ago. 9am, walk in to get 1 plain waffle to go so i can eat it on my way to work, which starts at 9:15, 100 feet away in an adjacent building downtown. It is now 9:21, i am late for work, so i ask for my 3 dollars back so i can get to work late and hungry. Since they only have 1 register, i have to wait longer to get my 3 bucks because a huge group of people are ordering, and they cannot refund while they order. i cant wait any longer for them to serve 1 plain waffle in a bag to go, late for work, and not having time to wait for the register to open, i leave with no waffle and did not get refunded the 3 dollars. the food tastes good here, but it the same thing i see in so many local independent business here in Eugene, slow, horrible service (they could have easily handed me $3 out of the overflowing tip jar and replaced the tips with the till when it was not as busy), and so slow. I am a mellow guy, and i did not make a scene at all. i just said "i cant wait, keep the money i guess" and walked out, no apology from the floor manager. I did spot the owner enjoying food in the back of the seating area. He looked older now, but smiling and happy. i remembered when it was him, going all out to make waffles in that cart all night. part of me wanted to go say "hi, remember the old days when you rocked that cart?! that was awesome!" But with no time, i didn't do that... and i wont be visiting this place any time soon, because you need ALOT of time to enjoy this place these days, and my heart was broke a lil bit. read more

Couple of days ago I decided to try off the waffle with a couple of my friends, we had our order taken by a sweet younger lady and happily drank our tea while we waited for our order. It wasn't a long wait time for our food, maybe 10 minutes, bravo! Unfortunately our order was lacking the extra egg and bacon we paid for, so I went and asked for a new one. Again missing my egg. I understand things can get confusing in the back so I don't blame anyone, eventually I just wanted a refund for my extras I never received. The reason I gave one star is because of the manager, who I asked for at the front. She was the rudest manager I had ever encountered in a restraunt. She kept asking if I wanted my meal remade in such a rude tone with an annoyed look on her face. I told her no I just would like a refund for my extras, she asked if I would take a giftcard or free drink, I was getting upset by now and told her we will just leave, she just smiled and walked away. You've lost my business. read more

This location is much much bigger and you have a better chance of getting a table and a lesser chance of getting parking. Felt much cleaner than the 29th location and the decor was true to the "brand". I am still a fan. You just have to know what you're getting into: Tips for happy waffling: - Never come here after 9:15 am on the weekends, since it'd be impossible to get a table without waiting 30 + min. -- Gluten Free waffles are very good when they make them fresh -- I've been during the week and they were previously frozen and thawed out -- served with some ice in the middle still :( But I'm keeping that 4th star because they offer GF in the first place, and that they taste pretty darn good when made fresh -- just ask when you order what the deal is. - 1/2 off coupons are regularly published in the savvy saver. Yes, I clip coupons for waffles in a recession! read more

Another place I've heard about for ages, and finally got to try. When they say you don't need butter or syrup, they aren't joking. You really don't! The waffles are so crispy and sweet, and nothing like anything I've ever had. The first time we went, I got the Avo (avocado, tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil). Really good, but a little odd juxtaposed with the sweetness of the waffle. I love the toppings AND the waffle, just not together. The next time, I had one and a half plain waffles (friend only ate half of hers, so I snagged her other half, but I digress...). Fresh-squeezed juice was really good too. Ordered a side of bacon, which had a great flavor but was slightly undercooked for my taste (which admittedly, is probably perfectly okay for most people. I'm weird!). Definitely will be back! read more

Here I sit waiting for waffles I'm losing faith that they'll ever arrive. They're out of whipped cream & now out of coffee, I'm not sure this brunch I will ever survive. The place is crowded and service is crappy, $10 for waffles that I still haven't seen. Wish I'd gone somewhere else; I'd be happy, But I'm sitting here feeling hungry & mean. read more

Expensive. Arrogant. Dirty. A not untypical Eugene approach, really... but for effing *waffles*? I don't know if their saving grace is their location or their "hipness" or whatever, but the vastly overrated waffles certainly don't make up for their real-world deficiencies. read more

The Liege waffle is so good and it's the reason I keep coming back. They provide quality food, tastes good, and has nice presentation. Some of the waffles are a bit spendy for what you get, but the savory waffles are worth it. It is a bus your own table kinda place. However, the service is always quick, friendly, and goes out of their way to accommodate. One of the staff brought my husband and I silverware because we didn't get the memo to get it ourselves before our food came out. Coffee is no good, but serves it purpose to temper the sweet waffles. Overall I will continue to come back for breakfast and brunch. read more

Off The Waffle - Oh Hey Sue! Very good! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Eugene, Oregon

Really enjoyed this place. I had the self fulfilling prophecy waffle. I added the melted havarti to it. It was just the right amount of sweet to savory ratio. My wife ordered the one with strawberries and whipped cream. I am a foodie and I am willing to try foods that aren't the tried and true. My wife on the other hand is picky. So if she really enjoys something that's saying something. Glad to say she really liked her waffle. The waffles were a little more dense then what I am use to but they were very good. The service was great and they were very helpful. read more

Visiting Oregon we went to Off the Waffle for breakfast. The food was delicious and the service was great. If you're very hungry the portions are small so you might need to order two portions. Overall a good experience but a bit overpriced because the portions are small. read more

We were visiting family and had heard her rave reviews. You have to order at the register but no menus are available until up at the register. It would be helpful to have them before then or even outside the door. We ordered at 9 am. By 9:30 we observed multiple customers after us had already received their food. We inquired with the front desk. They said they'd check. 10 minutes later we still had t seen our food or had any employee check in with us as to the status. I went up to the desk again. This time they said they lost the ticket and were just now making it. 10 more minutes passed and honestly now I was pissed. I went up again and asked for a credit. I was given a gift card for $25. Our bill had been $40+. And of course you give a tip up front before there is any service involved. Had I known how sucky it would be I wouldn't have left a tip. My bad. Anywho 50 min after arrival we finally got food. My mom loved hers (restaurant was her recommendation), kids thought there's was just ok. I'm not doing carbs in the morning so I ordered the omelet. Let me tell you how horrible it was. Flat, plain. Greasy. Blah. It may have been the worst breakfast I've ever paid for. I will not be returning. read more

Off The Waffle - Horrible flat greasy plain omelette - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Eugene, Oregon

We went there twice on a recent trip (yeah, it was THAT good). My first waffle was the best waffle I have ever had, hands down. The second time around, my waffle wasn't quite as delicious, but still very good. My biggest complaint would be that I also ordered a latte with my waffle and it took about 10 minutes to get it. Over all, good food and wonderful, friendly staff. read more

NEVER come here between 12:30-2pm . Off the waffle is one of my family's Favorite Spots, But service and employees do a minimal job during these hours. Not one adult is seen working these hours , collage students are working , from my experience seen , on there phones , and not paying attention to orders . I made two orders coming to $40.00 , they made it to go, when I told them it was for here , also they did not give me my side of bacon, or eggs. I ended up waiting an extra 10 minutes on top of my wait time to watch them gossip an play on the phones untill my order came. Very disappointed . read more

This is a hard review. To make it easy for onlookers: Want waffles? GO. Want breakfast? GO, somewhere else. The waffles are fantastic and the creations there feature great ingredients and combinations. On the other hand, it seems like at least some (not all) combination meals they haven't figured out how to pair things semi-correctly. You'll have flavors mixing that shouldn't be on the same plate, much less same dish, or aren't quite prepared correctly. FYI, if you're tasting a plain bunch of greenery on the side, it should at least be washed, just as an example. The portions are also exceedingly small for the price point. While they are reasonably tasty, don't look all that attractive and its really just the portion versus price that makes it an inferior value. To add insult to injury, they are using platters designed for heaping portions on waffles or breakfasts, but using the same dishes for a lone omelet and a single waffle with some greens makes you wonder if someone ate the rest of your plate before bringing it to you. As the song goes though, that's "just the way it is". Reiteration: If you're crazing waffles, this is the best place I've encountered with this type of waffle in Eugene, Portland, and across the i5 corridor to date. If you're craving a great breakfast, or even just a great value, I'd recommend another joint. To put a name to it while in Eugene, go to Todd's Place on Broadway. read more

I love love love going here. It's a real treat. So far I've gotten: the original, the self-fulfilling prophecy, the plain jane, and the fruit party. I've also tried the hot cocoa. My favorite is the self-fulfilling prophecy, though it would be awesome if they made it with two waffles instead of one. It was ALMOST satisfying, but not quite. The eggs and bacon on top were incredible. Same goes for the others except for the fruit party. The fruit party is huge and I don't think I finished it. The hot chocolate felt like too much on top of the fruit party! However, the waffles themselves are the best I've ever had. I didn't even know I could like waffles before trying this place. If you plan to stop by more than once, they have a punch card, read more

This place is a quiet nook off of Willamette Street in Downtown Eugene and tho the food is not large in size, the tastes and full fulfillment in the end is worth the price. My first time here was a pleasant experience, the waitstaff is very friendly and accommodating without leaving you feel under or over burdened. I would recommend this for a slow relaxing day to spend with your loved one or just a people watching day as you sit near the larger open windows and outdoor picnic table seating. Try the Self fulfilling prophecy, Braise of Glory or any of the other greats taste choices. Enjoy!!! read more

Waffles were good. You can get a BOGO half off coupon in the coupon magazine. Pretty good flavor combinations. They should use ripe fruit though... like the pears slice were too hard and didn't merge well with the other stuff. Employees aren't too enthusiastic here. Minus one star because this location is not warm and fuzzy like the other one. Out of town guest really enjoyed this treat. read more

Good: The ingredients used appear to be very high quality. I ordered a caprese-style waffle with avocado and was impressed with the taste of the tomatoes. My fiancee ordered a BLT waffle and his bacon was really well cooked and thickly sliced. Okay: The seating is very very limited, but there is an outdoor eating area on the side of the building that has a nice ambiance. Not for Me: The waffle itself is very sweet, which isn't a problem by itself, but I ordered a savory dish and the tastes didn't meld the way that I wanted them too. I felt like it was way too sweet. The balance was off. I could try and remedy this by getting a sweet topping option, but I fear that the whole thing would be too sweet. I'm not someone who can eat an entire plate of sweet dessert and I'm fairly sure that I, similarly, could not eat an entire plate of sweet waffle with nothing savory to cut the sugar. Also, don't count on getting a table during a busy time. We went at about 11am on a weekend and the place was packed. There were people eyeing our table for 20 minutes while we ate. Verdict: I would come back, but I would share a waffle with someone else and go with a sweet option. read more

I just recently started going to off the waffle, I've only been there twice and I'll continue going. It's very good and a creative way to serve waffles. I have gotten the beloved bully, which is a waffle with chocolate chips, strawberries and whip cream on top (you have to pay extra for whip cream but I recommend it) and the self fulfilling prophecy which is a waffle with a fried egg, bacon and maple syrup on top, both were so incredibly good. I would recommend these two options to anyone and I'm excited to try what else they have to offer. The only negative thing I could say was my boyfriend said he wishes they were bigger, I got full off mine but if you're with someone with a big appetite know they might be left still hungry. read more

My favorite breakfast spot whenever I'm in Eugene. They have a waffle for literally everyone with different taste buds

We went to Off the Waffle for the first time on Wednesday morning around 11:00am. The waffle was AMAZING. Mine was plain (it came with the OM-let) and my daughter had the Hey Bob waffle. Apples, havarti cheese, and real Vermont Maple Syrup. Delicious!!! The omelet, on the other hand, was indescribably bad. Tasted like imitation egg, the bacon tasted burnt, and the havarti cheese had over cooked to just a thin film of cheese. While Off the Waffle notes that their waffles are so good you don't need butter or syrup. But, if what you order doesn't come with syrup, you'll have to pay an extra dollar for it. Also, sadly, no accommodations for diabetics who need sugar free syrup. Also, no iced tea, only hot teas. But, they have no problem with you bringing in a drink from an outside establishment. Service at the counter was friendly, and the food came out very quickly. read more
