Today was my first ever visit - LOVED it! The Goat in the Headlights was an EVENT. Made me happy!

We came all the way from Harrisburg on a groupon a couple weeks ago and went back again today... the withdrawals kicked in right away once again. This place should be illegal it is so addicting, good, real and affordable. We love everything about it, expect to be amazed with the quality of the food! It is an order at the counter place (no waitresses) with class.. way worth it to keep the prices low. The owner even came out to express gratitude (reminded me of when I was a kid at our favorite local restaraunt and the owner always made a point to say hi), a lost art of the restaraunt biz. My only regret is I didn't try the special, frickin chicken, really hope I get another shot at that bad boy! JUST GO GET A WAFFLE ALREADY :-) read more

The food is very good, but the portions are small for what you get. I recommend adding an extra waffle for $3 or so. This location is small and can be crowded but is a good light breakfast. read more

My family and I ate here the day after Thanksgiving before heading back home to Southern California. All I can say is.....Wished they had a place like this in my town! I had the "Overachiever" along with a vanilla latte and both were fantastic! Others in my group tried the Be Brie-Peared and raved about how good the food was. I read some of the other reviews and did not experience any of the frustrations that others had.....primarily long wait times. My family really liked the place, it's kinda eclectic in its interior color schemes along with the wall art. Another plus is the fact that covered parking is really close by! My daughter and her boyfriend ( a student at UO) will be there for 2 years and I know we'll visit them and Off the Waffle as often as possible!!! Well Done Off The Waffle!!!!! read more

Great little stop! I was expecting the meals to be a little larger given the price, but that didn't distract from how amazing the waffles were. The service was fairly slow, however, we were seated outside and had a nice view of downtown Eugene. Do be careful if seated outside, as some of the local homeless were fairly aggressive, demanding money from nearby diners. Both of the waffles I ordered ended up being excellent. The combination of Havarti cheese and apples was great! Overall, this was a solid lunch stop. read more

I love waffles! And a place that simply sells the best waffles ever is amazing. They offer both sweet and savory waffles and are the perfect brunch/breakfast place. They surprisingly offer great coffee and accommodating service. Although sometimes it is a little hectic and unorganized which is why I give them four stars. Instead of having a waiter that brings things too you, you have to constantly get up and grab your own utensils, napkins, cups and pretty much anything cause the workers don't really leave from behind the counter. I do happen to love their mimosas. read more

I loved Off the Waffle! We went here on a late Saturday morning, and the place was still busy. We ordered at the counter, and then I had to scope out us a table. The restaurant itself isn't big, and we were able to squeeze in at the end of a big table. With this set up, we were able to meet and talk to a new couple. My big mason jar of orange juice was well worth it! It took a few minutes for our food to come out, but it wasn't too long. Let me tell you, it was well worth the wait. I'm not typically a fan of waffles (besides Eggos, of course!), but this waffle was the perfect combination of doughy-ness to fluffiness. The bacon on top of my waffle was nice and crispy. My fried egg was good, I would've liked it slightly less cooked, in order to be able to ooze out all over the waffle, but it was good nonetheless. The big surprise was that the maple syrup that was lightly drizzled all over was the perfect thing to tie the entire dish together. Definitely check out this place if you're in Eugene! read more

Off The Waffle is one of those places with very minimalist service--you pick up your own menus and seat yourself, get your own coffee and water from the sideboard, go to the register at the counter to order, and bus your own tables when you're done. I love liege waffles, so it's hard to go wrong, really, even with that--and it is a college town, so I'll let that go. We were one of only 4 tables occupied in the place. Food came quickly, with a smile, and it was quite good! I had the BMB (bacon, havarti, fresh basil, real maple syrup) topped with a fried egg, on a gluten free waffle. The waffle was little tough, probably frozen and then thawed, but otherwise had a good texture, and the egg was perfectly sunny-side up with a lovely runny yolk. My boyfriend ordered the Self-Fulfilling Prophecy, which was similar to mine but he didn't get havarti or basil on his. Mine was fancier. :) The great 80s soundtrack playing over the sound system left us feeling sort of like we were extras in the diner scene of a John Hughes movie. I'd go back. read more

Off the Waffle is not a breakfast place in my eyes. When I reflect on the times I've been there (to both locations), I think of nighttime, of needing something both sweet and savory. The menu's flavor combinations span comfortable and familiar to creative and adventurous... There's a chocolate + banana + strawberry option, and there's an avocado + tomato + mozzarella option. The waffles are formidable and filling, and just sweet enough. They are crunchy yet fluffy. The prices are steep, considering the portions... $7-$9 usually for what amounts to a waffle with some stuff on it. The waffles are clearly the focus, with eggs and other sides as an afterthought. Sometimes the service takes a while. Cashiers are usually young and nice, but shy. Worth a try - it is pretty good. read more

On our way out of Eugene we had to get waffles for breakfast. The waffles are to die for. There is a waffle for everyone. They have savory, sweet and something in between. I am not a fan of eggs so I always have the Wiffle-Nutella, bananas and whipped cream. The whipped cream if freshly made and they pile it on! The staff is always delightful. Can't wait to visit again. read more

Two years later and still amazing totally different kind of waffle so good you don't even need syrup we will definitely be back every visit

The 2 stars are for the fantastic food. If your looking for great food and have low expectations of service, you'll might love this place. Would've been 4 stars in my book if not for the following: - Ran out of coffee - come on, you specialize in breakfast/brunch. When fresh coffee finally ready, it was burnt and self-serve - Said they were "unable to brew decaf" (for Mother in law) - Omelette arrived about 3 minutes after rest of the food. This place has a lot of potential to be great. read more

In confused on how this restaurant only has 3.5 stars - I'm visiting from Vegas my friend took me here - first time for both of us - we split the 'goat in headlights' and 'no really though' both were amazingly delicious! Wish there was an Off the Waffle in Vegas this place so so great - my vanilla latte was perfect too - can't wait to visit my friend in Eugene again and try another dish here!!! read more

Bad customer service. The line to order was so long but when you get up to actually order, all they do is hand you a barcode and tell you to go sit down and order on your phone. Then after you order in your phone, a 15% tip is automatically added to your bill. I wouldn't say 15% is an appropriate too amount judging from the lack of service you receive here. The bathroom system is also very inconvenient and you have to wait for a bathroom key for either me or women. Food was okay but not worth the wait, price, and inconvenient setup of the whole place. Would NOT recommend read more

I came in today with my dad. I had the 'dankest' waffle which I have to say is the best waffle I have ever had! It was like a Thanksgiving dinner on top of a waffle, perfect for someone who prefers savory flavors in the am!! Wonderful artwork on the walls, games for kids, and delicious omelets with lots of cheese and bacon. The perfect combination! Also the staff is very nice and accommodating for folks in wheelchairs or who need straws :) read more

Price is decent, yes it's a smaller than "usual" portion comparing to say, IHOP, but it's a fulfilling meal and a good 600-1000 calories. Waffle with a twist- you get the tasty waffle and fresh toppings. It's self-service almost, but staff are pretty friendly. Food came fast on a Sunday morning. Seatings in this location is comfortable and clean. I am a fan when I am in town to visit, but it's not like I wish they have one in Portland. read more

Okay so yes the original location is better in a lot of ways but I kinda like the downtown location. The food is good :) plain & simple.. Though it does feel like they're selling out a bit.. waffles aren't quite as awesome as they were a couple years ago.. they do Facebook deals as well :) read more

I would never order from here again or at least never online. They never have it ready at the time the online order says. Every time I order online I wait an extra 45 minutes to an hour beyond the time it's supposed to be ready. It's a complete joke and waste of time. Not to mention, the manager spoke with me personally and told me they were going to fix the online ordering issues... 1 month later and it still doesn't work properly. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

Chicken and waffles don't sound like they go together, maybe that's why it takes 45 minutes for stuff to come out of the kitchen? No other joint in Eugene has so much promise and yet falls so flat. There's lots to love here, good waffles and high quality syrup. The price point is fine for this neighborhood, so be prepared to shell out about 20% more than a typical lunch had in other neighborhoods. With that said, bro, you're going to wait. And wait. And ****** wait way past your point of patience. This joint's whole premise is chicken and waffles. One of which, waffles, takes about 3 minutes to make. The other, chicken, should be readily on hand in a warmer come lunch time. My last visit had us waiting past 45 minutes. It's a small joint, and loud, and not totally comfortable. And 45 minutes is easily about 35 minutes too long, especially for lunch. Some people have a Jay-Oh-Bee that they need to get back to but Off the Waffle seems hell bent on getting folks' written up. How am I supposed to get to Off the Waffle, order, eat, and smoke a spliff before I get back to work? I dunno, pal, you tell me cuz I haven't figured it out yet. It's a fine place if you are willing to gamble a decent part of your lunch hour away. But that wait time keeps me from going back. I gots stuff to do, bro, and no waffle waiting is going to keep me from it. read more

Great and friendly service. Very roomy, good place for kids or groups. Depending which way you go remember there are a lot of one way streets. It was surprisingly packed but did not feel crowded which is nice. read more

One day after I was finished with class, some nice man asked if I wanted a free waffle sample--after that I knew I had to find my way to Off the Waffle. I decided to get an "In Between" waffle since I wasn't feeling like having anything too sweet. I ordered the "No, Really Though". It was supposed to have strawberries, but they had ran out...so i ordered it with pears instead. It was very yummy. Aside from the delicious pairing, the waffle itself was really good. It wasn't too heavy, which is what I was expecting, and I especially like the sweet crust of the waffle. The balsamic reduction was a bit heavy... i would have liked to have had a little less of it on my waffle, but that is personal preference. Of course i would have liked to try it with the strawberries; i think the sweet strawberries would have cut the salty toppings a bit more than the pears, but it wasn't bad. And though the portion looked on the smaller side, I ended up eating it all and being really full. The workers are great and we got our food relatively quickly. I liked the vibe and I would definitely go again. read more

Waitress was nice, they were able to accommodate a slightly larger party. Food was good. However, meals came out for half the party nearly 40 min after ordering during a time that didn't seem very busy at all, and the other half came 20 min later. A little frustrating for some members. read more

If you ever wondered do i want something sweet or savory for breakfast? Well look no more!! If you like sweets this is your place and if you like savory, ask for 'The self-fulfilling prophecy' you will be pleasantly filled without a sweet overload. The orange juice is fresh and the coffee, well its Oregon, its hard to find bad coffee around here anyway but they have good coffee and lots of it. I love the layout and the cleanse. Very helpful and outgoing staff. Good job waffle people!! If in Eugen must try!! read more

Very disappointed. It had been a good year since I have been here and won't be going back. The front door was disgustingly dirty, the prices are outrageous. My husband ordered a omlet that came with a waffle. They charge extra for syrup. What? It's a waffle place and then charge extra for syrup? We paid $16 for a flat omlet and plain waffle. Ridiculous. Don't bother. read more

This restaurant gets a one star because it is so poorly mismanaged. We placed a take-out order with a specific pick-up time. When we arrived at the designated pick-up time we were told the order was not ready and we had to wait 25 more minutes. After the 25 minutes we were told that the order wouldn't be ready for another 15 minutes. Ridiculous!!! Waited 45 minutes for a pick-up order that should have been ready when we arrived. The food is not worth the the absurd 45 minute wait on a take-out order. read more

What can I not say... I love the new location, I came in to get a order to go and the young lady working the front counter was very polite and gave out great recommendations. When I got back to my hotel room the the food was hot and well plated for a to go order. I will be coming back here again and again.... Such a great menu! read more

4* Off the Waffle 840 Willamette, Eugene There are two locations Liège type of waffles (sugar in the batter) Several types: savory, sweet, or between Caprese was tasty Fruity one was delicious My favorite was the one with pear, onions, brie with bacon Good food service Popular Sometimes available with Groupon read more

What a way to start the day! Such a cool spot. Super bummed these don't exist in California. I went for The BMB with bacon, and I was not disappointed. I was left feeling full. Seating was a little cramped for my taste, but this is the kind of spot that you wouldn't want to expand to a bigger location. read more

Typical trendy Eugene BS. Don't be fooled by the "authentic Liege" title and cute meal nicknames on these basic waffles. You pay 10 bucks for a single waffle the size of an Eggo. A 16 dollar plate of fried eggs and bacon on top of a waffle is the only breakfast plate that's even remotely worth your hard earned dough. 10 bucks for a waffle with strawberries and whipped cream?! After finishing your mediocre snack you are rewarded by bussing your own table...if you are even lucky enough to snag clean utensils. These waffles are decent but nothing special, especially if you need to shell out a 20 for 2 of these suckers. read more

Definitely lower than average food. Went to this place thinking it was a Waffle House, instead all they have on the menu is the option to order 1 single medium-sized waffle for $10+??? The waffle was alright but nothing special, but the eggs tasted like straight plastic. I'm probably never going here again tbh. read more

Really disappointed. Everything looked amazing but I never got to try it. We waited about 30 minutes before someone came to our table and said, "sorry, our printer stopped printing orders in the back and we never started your order, what did you order again?" I ordered a simple waffle plate and a couple of coffee. The waffle is crispy outside and soft inside just the way I like. Coffee is bottomless so you can drink as much as you want. Smoked salmon with capers in a brioche waffle...SOOOO yummy! Fast service, polite and friendly as well. A little on the spendy side for the portion size but the food is organic and fresh. This is definitely a "you get what you pay for" Next time we are in town, we will be back! read more

We love this place. It is our once a month treat. Such great offerings and so many organic choices. My son usually has the self fulfilling prophecy and I have the chicken (organic) and waffles. Best waffles one can get anywhere. This is a definite stop for us whenever we visit Eugene. We are always there before 9 am so crowd and wait time was not a problem. This time I ordered one with brie, pear and caramelized onion. The pear was a little hard, could have been softer, and the waffle on the whole was a little dry (I suppose I could have ordered maple syrup or something over it) other than that, it was so yummy! Most of my party had "overachiever", I think, the one with bacon and an egg on top. From the silence on the table when the food was served, I was sure they were good! I also like it that they have herbal teas. I had a lemon ginger this time and it was just right for a cold winter morn! oh, wish you would expand to other states and cities. read more

Decadent and delicious. I am a huge waffle fan so how could I not try Off The Waffle? While I did find it delicious, I still think I prefer the more traditional stuff I get at my local breakfast joint. Its definitely worth a try though. They have some really interesting combinations and the batter is really unique. Like many of the restaurants in Eugene, you order at the counter and bus your own table. Maybe its just because I live elsewhere, but I'm not really a fan of that. I feel like going to a restaurant is supposed to be a little more special than a cafeteria. read more
