Service was good, food was good, most of the tables were empty. However, we had a party of 12 and were sat by the pool which was outside the restaurant, hotel guests were walking by. It was perplexing why they would seat people by the pool when 90% of the tables were empty. From start to finish, I may be saw 3-5 tables seat in the restaurant. It was nice dining in the sun. I had been eating pretty protein rich meals where meats were typically coated in a sauce and decided to go with a chopped salad no additional meat as it already included a hand full of bacon. The chopped salad came with Romain lettuce, crispy wonton, bacon, avocado, tomato, Japanese rice seasoning furikake, and ranch dressing. The salad was fresh. The bacon was tasty. If I could modify this dish, I would remove the rice seasoning/furikake and bacon. I was also able to try the fresh catch of the day I could not see how fresh it was, as it was covered in a sauce & thoroughly cooked, I would not go so far as to say dry, but it did not easily break apart. Knowing that most of what is in Hawaii is covered in sauce, and most likely imported, this was not surprising. We came to the resort to visit friends and decided to grab a bite to eat at the pool bar. Self parking if you are not a resort guest is unavailable but you can Valet Park for $27. If you spend over $50 in the merchandise store they will validate your parking though. We ordered the sausage and pepperoni flatbread as well as the garlic shrimp flatbread which was a special for that day. We also had the Caesar salad and the Aji nachos. Everything was cooked very well and was delicious. Love the wonton use for the nachos!! So crispy and light! Our server was friendly and helpful. read more

April 10, 2024 catching up on reviews. Restaurant out in the open area in Aulani. Family vaca, 2 protein burgers, and I ordered the OTH Chop Salad and we had Onion Rings for the Appetizer. All for just under $100 with 2 soft drink beverages. All food was good, not spectacular, convenient in our resort, was a little wait between items, it was Spring Break season! They did graciously adapted my salad for my allergies, Vegetarian and low sodium! The atmosphere was in a beautiful spot! Many families there, some were a bit loud and unruly children which both left before our dinner arrived! They do have really cool lights on the table! read more

I was told before that the service isn't that great. Well first of all nobody assists you when you walk in. You have to walk towards the bar area first as it's not a traditional sit in restaurant. My friend and I stopped by on 2/15/22, at 3:30p, to get a snack as we visited the property, to watch an event. Make sure to get a bracelet on the main floor at the Disney Aulani across the gift shop and show your COVID card so you can eat on the property, if you aren't a guest and just are visiting the Aulani. We ordered the non-alcoholic beverages from the counter at "Off the Hook". I ordered the Strawberry Guava Island Cooler and my friend ordered the Li'likoi Splash. The drinks were fine, as well as the cute orchid that went with it, but we were shocked at the size of the cup. Oh my, it was ridiculously minuscule. We saw someone else have a decent sized plastic cup but we were flabbergasted with how small our drinks were. Our bartender must have seen our faces and offered us a regular sized cup of water with it. We enjoyed the Onion Rings because that was substantial and fulfilling. I was torn between 3 or 4 stars on this one. Our first night eating here we had absolutely terrible service. We were told that 3 servers would be assisting but then it turned to barely one. We had a larger party so it's understandable that things would take some extra time. The issue here was that they brought us food but then didn't leave any silverware and it took a good amount of time to come back with it. I ordered the French dip. The au jus was brought out and the sandwich itself was no where to be found. Along with my dish, one of the kids meals was extremely delayed even though it was the same thing as some of the other kids ordered. The kids wanted ice cream at the end so the waitress put in for that and it was 15 minutes before we had to ask where it was. We thought maybe they were making desserts but it was just pre packaged ice cream bars. They ended up comping the ice cream but even to get that taken care of was a lot of time and attitude from the waitress. The reason I gave 4 stars was because we went back for lunch and the wait staff was impeccable. They were friendly and attentive. I was given the wrong dish and the correct one came out instantly. We also went back another time with the larger group for lunch and it the same amazing service. Off the Hook is one of your casual dining options at Disney's Aulani resort in Oahu. You can use their dining areas or order anything from the menu poolside if you really want the full resort experience. We did both, having a lunch meal there once and also ordering a drink and snack poolside another time. They've got a Beyond Burger option if you're a vegetarian like us (at least it tasted like a Beyond patty, though they called it the "Plant Protein Burger." Whatever it was called it tasted really good, especially selecting onion rings as the side and putting one of those baby's on the burger. It was kind of "off the hook." The onion rings were also really good in general, especially with the spa ranch that they came with (plus the side of BBQ sauce I got.) Our 12 year old really dug his Strawberry Guava Island Cooler...so much so that he got one pool side the next day. My wife wasn't too fond of the Today's Catch Tacos and she sent back the side of pineapple as she felt it wasn't as fresh as it should be in the middle of Hawaii. (Opting for fries instead.) Our server when dining in was VERY friendly and knowledgable about the menu. They also offer a few other options for vegetarians including salads, flatbreads, and an interesting looking Batter-dipped Cauliflower Florets (think cauliflower wings) as a side. I decided to stop buy for a quick lunch and to take a break from the pool. I ordered a lava flow. It's basically a pina colada with strawberry purée. It was really delicious and was the perfect drink for a day poolside. I ordered a club sandwich with a Caesar salad and a side of onion rings. The Caesar salad had a perfect amount of dressing so each part of the lettuce was covered and the croutons were nice and crunchy. The onion rings were perfectly deep fried and came with ketchup and a white sauce that felt like a mix of ranch and some hot sauce. They were delicious. The sandwich was very very good. I love it when I really seem to enjoy a restaurant significantly more than most other yelpers because I don't feel like I'm that easy with my five-star ratings. That being said, I had a marvelous experience here! The most impressive part of my experience was our server Topaz. She's amazing and when I go back, I hope she's working because I'll request to sit in her section! Super sweet and attentive, she really is the epitome of a Disney employee and represents the brand extremely well. Not sure if I would've gone with five stars if it weren't for her. I wish I took a picture with her. Oh well, more of a reason to go back! The food was delicious. Right now it's only open to guests staying at Aulani. That being said for a restaurant at a resort hotel I definitely felt what we ordered was definitely worth the price. The POKE NACHOS was definitely one of my favorite things. The chips were soooo ono (delicious) and the fresh definitely went well with. Would definitely order it again. [COVID] since you had to give them your room number they are tracking who dines there. They took our temperature at the hostess station before seating us. The tables are spread apart. It definitely makes you feel like you are on vacation! Now as to why I gave it a low rating: the food was so salty. I had the French Dip and I ended up eating less than half of it because the meat was so salty. I substituted the fries for Caesar salad, and it was good, but also salty. Wasn't very impressed, I ordered a double burger with cheese, nothing else. I asked for the burger medium and when it arrived it was pretty pink in the middle. If it wasn't for the cheese it would have no flavor. If you can't get a burger right, how are you expected to get some of the other items cooked right. Not many choices for a carnivore, need more selections. read more
