Award-winning bobas and they'll remind you of it with all their banners :) but it's legit good -- coming from a boba snob from Taiwan myself. :) Service is efficient and store is set pretty much for takeout only, so grab your yummy bobas and crema teas and go!

Definitely came back every Wednesday after a run and it's very cozy inside. Ordered the yuzu Osmanthus tea and passion fruit tea. The seeds get in the way of the drink so be aware of that order. Ordering is quick and attentive. I do recommend a fan exhaust to clear the dampness and air. Caught myself sneezing too much in there and had to step out for a bit.

Tiny boba tea shop in the heart of Pasadena. No tables or seating whatsoever, so it is definitely a grab and go type of place. My husband and I were so impressed with the quality of the drinks that we visited twice within a month. Highly recommend the Golden Buddha Silk Boba and Yuzu Osmanthus Silk Boba. Both of these drinks were delicious. The golden buddha milk tea has flavors of dried longan, toasted rice, and burnt firewood. The yuzu osmanthus tea has a floral and fragrant flavor with a hint of honey. For the silk boba, you can choose between wintermelon or jasmine. I personally prefer the jasmine silk boba. The smooth, silky texture is very enjoyable. Other drinks I tried are Yuzu Matcha Silk Boba and Grapefruit Oolong Silk Boba. The flavors of the yuzu and matcha worked surprisingly well together, although I feel that the matcha did overpower the yuzu. As for the grapefruit oolong tea, I liked that pieces of grapefruit pulp were included in the drink, and it did not taste sour at all. My husband and I both agree that the 50% sugar level was the perfect level of sweetness.

Odd One Out is an award-winning Taiwanese tea shop chain and one of my personal fave places to grab a drink. This location is located right in the heart of Old Town Pasadena where street parking will be your best bet. Inside, they have a modest setup with no seating options. Wifey ended up getting the Iron Buddha Milk Tea and I got the Passionfruit Osmanthus Silk Boba. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Definitely come stop by to grab a drink and walk around the area to peruse all the different stores nearby!

A small tea shop in the busy shops around Pasadena, you can hardly find this spot as they're quite hidden in the busy walkways. Inside is quite small, no seating, just a order stand, some merch on the side, and a glass panel where you can see the staff preparing your drink. Overall, quite cute, but definitely gets cramped if there's a lot of customers. We visited right at their opening hours and there were already plenty of people waiting in line. Parking - HIGHLY and I mean HIGHLY recommend parking in the parking structure couple shops down from Odd One Out Tea, parking here is always easy, fast, and CHEAP. It's $1 parking fee for 2 hours and you pay at a pay station before you leave, can't find cheaper parking than that elsewhere. Inside the store, before you order, there's some samples on the left. My wife had got some for me and I was amazed by one of the samples. Turns out it was the Yuzu Osmanthus, which I had to try. My wife opted for the Golden Buddha Silk Boba ($7.50+ $1 for topping) while I locked in my order of the Yuzu Osmanthus Silk Boba. ($7 + $1 for topping) I added Jasmine Silk Boba to my drink and my wife added Wintermelon Silk Boba to her drink. Drinks came out pretty quick, cups are pretty standard and their cups are nice as well, no spillage and a clean, modern, and simple design, love it. My drink, the yuzu was absolutely amazing. It felt like a bright, very floral drink. It had a scent and feel of honey in there, which was a nice balance for the osmanthus. A very well made drink, highly recommend if you like Japanese yuzu like this one. The Golden Buddha Silk Boba was also very delicious. Texture is very nice, it created that rich, but very subtle feel of sweetness added to the drink. Can't really pinpoint what it is but it was definitely a roasting type feel to the drink. Very addicting overall. One thing I found is that both our drinks had their "Silk Boba" added to the drinks which is similar to tapioca and mochi mixed to get that soft, melting topping, very impressed overall, definitely a top spot for my wife and I to visit whenever we're visiting Pasadena.

Tea had no taste. I should have known. If it doesn't smell like tea when you walk in, it's not fresh quality tea.

Service was nice. Friendly service. The tea was tasteless and had no aroma. There's so many boba tea shops on every corner in Old Pasadena. Unfortunately I picked the one with the tasteless tea. At least the service was good,

I liked both of the taro drinks because of the taro paste. I think it wouodve been better without the mochi? It didnt really taste like mochi. Both were not overly sweet and its pretty worth for a large @7. They had a container out with spoons next to it so i thought they had samples but it was empty when i checked. I thought the ice part was hilarious when i saw 5 piece ice and ice free. Now that i am writing this i realized it mean 50% the ice they usually use then no ice? I got perfect ice so i had more than 5 pieces. They had alot of people come in at once so service was a bit slow but they only had 2 people working.

Favorite boba place in LA! Always have to come here when we come down to LA! Now they have a shiso drink which I've never seen before

Sobacha Milk Tea and Yuzu Matcha Silk Boba

One of my go to places for high quality tea! I like their decaf options, especially since I crave boba at night and don't want to stay up all night. I usually go for the winter melon lemon if I want a fruity decaf option or the sobacha milk tea if I want a creamy/milk tea flavor. Both are solid and I love their silk boba options! You can't adjust the sweetness for the winter melon but I like to make the sobacha less sweet since the boba is already sweetened. I personally love their jasmine silk boba, which is unique and flavorful but not overpowering. I also love their matcha yuzu and other milk tea options. There's usually samples to try which are amazing as well!

I went on the first day OOO opened for business. If you watch YouTubers from Taiwan, Joeman did introduce this shop in Taiwan in his second season of "Joe 是要對絕" In the beginning it was curiosity and wondered if they can bring or reproduce the same taste and quality of their teas and creativity from their store in Taiwan. #MIT and #Azn. My usually order is the: 1) Taiwan champion Milk tea 50% sweet and no ice. 2) Yuzu osmanthus with jasmine silk or watermelon silk boba. 3) whatever their seasonal creation is in rotation (never disappointed). Their teas by themselves has the consistency of "回甘" which is a good measure of their teas, one sip after another with the drying of your tongue. That is how much I love OOO. There is that meme, of Fry from Futurama (be quiet and just take my money). That's basically where my hard earned money went...this store. The staff is always friendly and trained extremely well. They will talk to you. Even the owner, John (I had the privilege to talk to him on the second day after they opened). Their courteousness really separates them from rest of the boba shops I have visited. This is the only knock against OOO because inside their shop is small (I wish they can serve food with a food license or expand into a bigger cafe). This place gives me the study boba cafe vibes. Parking is not the greatest so be creative! Outside on the street is only temporary parking, so be smart about it. So if you are coming from out of town drop by and visit this boba shop, it will not let you down.

This place has won awards from 2022-2023 at the milk tea festival. One of their signature drinks that won an award is the champion milk tea. I got the drink with 50% sugar and 5 piece ice with no toppings. The flavor of the drink was very creamy with a strong tea taste. Would try their iron Buddha drink next time. It is pricey for the drink around $7-$8 for one drink without any toppings. Apparently there is a store located in Taipei Taiwan Would come here again if I stop by or happen to be in the area.

Now I'm not a huge boba fan for the mere fact that the places usually overcook them and they are usually too mushy for my liking. I often prefer jellies as they don't decompose if you save your drink for later. This place with their silk boba is something else. It is a cross between a jelly and the warabimochi. It's not as firm as the jelly or not as soft as the mochi, but a perfect blend for your drinking pleasure. The Golden Buddha Silk Boba at 50% sweetness was perfect and hit the spot. A definite must try if you're in the Old Town Pasadena area! It's a small, but cute place that doesn't traditionally look like a boba spot from the outside. The girl who helped us was very nice and patient with all the questions we had as it was our first time. All in all, a wonderful experience. I love this boba place! My new favorite!

*TW 22' Champion Milk Tea with Jasmine Silk Boba
    Justine H.

Clean, small boba shop in old town Pasadena. There is no seating space so just a quick grab and go spot. I opted for the Champion Milk Tea with Jasmine Silk Boba, which is the exact drink I tried a while ago at their newer Ktown location. The service was very friendly and cheerful, and my drink came out quickly. Unfortunately, after trying their Ktown location first, the tea here was not as strong and I was pretty disappointed in how flavorless the Jasmine silk boba was. There was a barely noticeable faint tea flavor in the jelly and I felt like I was just chewing primarily for the texture. Pretty disappointing for a $10 large drink when I know their newer location is way better. Probably won't be back as there are plenty of other boba shops nearby in Old Town.

We chose outdoor since it was such a nice day out. They have all of their desserts on display in the case, so you can peruse the options and see what looks good. So many of the desserts looked good, like the matcha yuzu chiffon crepe cake or the rose and lychee crepe cake. We ordered via the kiosk and got the mango sunshine souffle pancake ($16.50) and well as a couple drinks. My drink was the white peach lemon jasmine bliss ($6.25), with 50% sweetness and less ice. Even though there are signs everywhere saying that it takes 15-20 minutes for the souffle pancakes to be cooked, ours came out super quickly, in 5 minutes or so. We got it with the sauce on the side, but I regret doing that as I saw others getting it with the sauce on top and it was beautiful. The pancake was super fluffy and a bit eggy as well. We all really enjoyed it with the mango sauce. I made the mistake of eating the pancake first before trying a sip of my tea. The pancake was pretty sweet, so I could barely taste my drink, but I think it was good? I could taste a bit of the lemon but definitely not the white peach, which is a lighter flavor. I got a slice of their Hokkaido cheese cake roll for $7 to go and had it the next day. It was okay but definitely a bit pricy for what you get. I'd love to come back to try their other desserts and pancakes!

The cafe, one of…read morethree in the area, is mostly kitchen & counter with a small bar counter with six stools facing the window & a handful of tables inside. It is not really cute or aesthetic in any way... and the whole place could use a refresh. There is a covered patio with a few tables outside but at the moment it is a bit haphazard and not the nicest because the space next door is doing construction & there is a large dumpster on Green Street. We ordered Black tea & Floral Pineapple Blossom tea drinks, Peach Crepe Cake and a Peach Souffle Pancake ($17.50) via the kiosk. When you order, you receive a text that lets you know your order number, has a receipt, and also an expected time of delivery. The drinks were ready about 15 minutes. They were both fine, and prepared correctly. The peach crepe cake was brought out a few minutes later. My mom enjoyed it and it looked very pretty. Then the time that the entire order was supposed to be ready came and went. I checked in with Nick at the counter and he said that my souffle pancake would be ready in 5 minutes. About 7 minutes later, when my mom was done with her cake. Nick brought it over and set it down in next to me. It was jiggly, huge, and very wobbly. I slid it over so it was in front of me, and the top pancake fell off of the stack, and flipped over so the whipped cream side was on the counter. I tried to flip it back over and put it on top of the stack, but it fell apart. At this point, I was so frustrated with the situation and grossed out by the possibility of eating whipped cream and pancake that had been on the counter, that I asked Nick to remedy the situation. He offered to make a new pancake, but since this one had taken 40 minutes to come out, I was not willing to wait that long again. He kindly offered an alternative suggestion which I accepted. I tried the Creme Brulee crepe cake which was mildly flavored and pretty tasty. (Maybe I should have just gotten it in the first place, but I had really wanted to try the souffle pancake which I've since & sadly lost interest in.) With that, we bid Motto adieu, and it is unlikely that I will return. A few additional notes: Parking in the area is metered and $1.25/hr with a max of 2 hours, the single bathroom is functional, but there is some problem with the ceiling (there is a gaping hole covered by plastic) making for an unpleasant and potentially unsanitary situation. This should be remedied immediately! Peace.

Since we were in the area, my husband, our little girl dog and I decided to order our drinks online and then just pick up in store. Although this is our first time visiting this location, we are no stranger to Sunright in general and typically have had positive experiences with their drinks. We ended up ordering: Mango Jasmine Tea, $6.25- I ordered this drink for my husband to be made with no ice and 50% sweetener. This drink was too sweet. It tasted like it was made with 100% sweetness. Matcha Latte w/ Pistachio Cheese Foam, $6.95- I ordered this drink for myself to be made with less ice (as no ice was no ice was not an option) and 25% sweetener. This drink was also very sweet and so I ended up added hot water to it when I got home to dilute the sweetness. --------------------------------- (Total= $13.20, tax included) After ordering, I had received a text message within 8 minutes letting me know that my order was ready. I was rather disappointed with my order and so was my husband. Although the flavor of the tea drinks itself was fine, the level of sweetness was just too sweet for us. I am not sure if the employee had just given us 100% sweetness or not, but this isn't typical of our experience at other locations, including Arcadia and San Gabriel. I hope this was just a one time error and that it doesn't happen again. Please note that the employee who gave us our order was friendly and she also seemed very happy when she saw our dog with us (as most people usually seem to be in spirits when they see her).

We ordered for pickup for 1 Thai Tea with boba. My partner loved it; the amount of boba they put in was a great ratio to Thai Tea. It wasn't overly sweet like some other spots we have tried. I tried 2 different drinks because I don't like ordering the same thing every time. I tried the strawberry slushie. I enjoyed it very much the strawberry flavoring didn't taste like chemicals like some places make it. It was perfect for a hot summer day. The next drink I tried was the mango jasmine tea which I thought was delicious. It had the perfect mango flavoring that wasn't overly powerful as you can still taste the jasmine and tea. Only gripe I have is the location. They are in prime time real estate on Colorado. Which makes parking more difficult as you can't pop in and pop out with to go orders. The employees were extremely friendly and apologetic about how difficult it was to find it when you try to park. There are 2 different parking garages to park in that area and walk to them to save yourself the hassle.
