I had high hopes about this place from the other reviews, but I wasn't super impressed with tier breakfast fare. Overall, the place has a great, easy access by water; no water views, but it does have a nice ocean breeze. The breakfast food was mostly normal and nothing exciting on the menu. I was really excited to try the sweet potato hash browns, but they were just shredded and sauteed. There wasn't much of a flavor - I had hoped for a nice spice (or even a sweet flavor) to really set these apart. The best part of the meal was the fresh, homemade biscuit that came as a choice. It was lovely with the jam that was provided. Overall, though, I wouldn't recommend this place; we found other options with better food choices. read more

I'd gotten recommended this restaurant by someone I know and now I know why! The decor in this café makes for a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. I love the variety and flavor of food offered here; though it is a bit pricey compared to other cafés, it is all delicious! The staff were very nice and attentive. Cute cafe in St.Augustine. The lady working was extremely nice and helpful during our visit. We each got a coffee and a chai latte which were tasty. Only negative was the bathrooms weren't very clean, but I highly recommend this cafe for coffee and a quick bite. read more

Nothing fancy restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Very good, reasonably priced food. In the last 2 weeks I've had the breakfast burrito twice and the Cuban breakfast sandwich. Tourist food 1:Food is served on 8" paper plate and wax paper. Way yo small of a plate 2: order at cashier and pay / tip I'm advance. I was doubt lost 20% on a tip. 3: " Breakfast" is cheap cheap cheap paper thin bacon, eggs ok, potatoes are square and deep friend no season not grilled. 4: toast ask for toasted crunchy. They were as white as the plate they were served on. 5: no butter for bread. Had to go back inside and ask for butter. The cashier stopped on way to get to enjoy a lengthy Spanish language class. When finished meandered over and cook cut a hunk of rock hard butter off. I could even break off a piece forget spread see below. 6: utensils are cheap flimsy plastic served in a plastic wrap with a napkin. They barely cut the eggs or could stab into the hard potatoes. Lol I don't understand how this place has good reviews but I have some ideas.... 7: the coffee was actually ok enjoy 8: large coffee, 2 eggs, single slice thick white bread, 2 pieces of bacon maybe three couldn't tell total: $20.52 $3.42 was included as tip. My opinion value: $5 maybe $6 complete waste of money 9: cleanliness I didn't use bathroom but seemed clean enough 10: after feeling really ripped off.... You have to but your own table. 11: I came with a friend he's super nice type never bad word. I asked to rate his breakfast 1-10 1 awful 10 fantastic he gave a 6 I couldn't believe he gave so high! Fantastic Latin themed eatery serving breakfast and lunch. Very unique entrees if you are tired of ordinary. We had the Fried Green Tomato BLT and the Arepa Surena. We came here on a Friday night around 4:30ish-5:00 which was perfect. It wasn't super busy, service was great and the weather was beautiful. We had a few drinks and everything was reallllly good! Have eaten here on several occasions over the past couple of years and it is one of my favorite places in St. Augustine Regardless if you come for an afternoon lunch on their outdoor patio or late night dinner and drinks in the dining room, the vibes are a great match. The patio is breezy and full of vibrant colors while the dining room in the evenings have warm low lights that's add to the decor and embrace a Latin/Spanish ambiance. The bands they get do not match this vibe but the live music is still a great addition. If you are looking for a place to get a lot of "Instagramable" pictures, this is a good spot for that Foods and drinks have a Latin flavor with representations from a wide spectrum of countries. You'll see things like chicharrones, cachapa, ceviche, empanadas, yuca, and sweet plantains. They also have some southern and Caribbean flavors with their charcoal chicken plates, bread pudding, beignets, and the mac & cheese If you are a bit of a picky eater , the odd burger with fries is a safe and delicious choice - imo. Last thing I'll mention is their awesome signature cocktails. Lots of puny names and unique ingredients. It's about time Vilano got some good fast casual food! The neighborhood has always had great restaurants like Cap's and Kingfish, but if you're looking for a good breakfast, there was nothing. Your only sandwich option was Publix. Well I've been living in the Bay Area for the last year, eating amazing cuisine from all over the world, and was delighted to come back to Florida to visit family and friends and discover this great new spot in the oldest city. An old dessert shop has transformed into the bright and delicious Odd Birds Cafe in Camache Cove, that spot between the Vilano bridge and uptown St Augustine. They introduce the ropa vieja-inspired Porc Boulangerie, a cultural mashup between Latin America and France featuring slow-cooked pork in a fresh baked croissant with an over-medium fried egg soaking the tender meat with delicious golden yolk with the first bite. Their traditional breakfasts are delightful and hearty. They also have an array of arepa-style benedicts, latin-inspired salads, and sandwiches inspired by flavors that span the globe, from Cuba to Vietnam, to create sandwiches that are truly unique to Vilano Beach (eg. the Vilano Bahn-Mi features thick cut pork belly with Bahn-Mi dressed veggies and garlic aioli on buttery Cuban bread). I can't wait to try the Fried Green Tomato BLT. I'm writing this as of our second visit. My visit was after Christmas and before NYE. I like this place! We were there on arepa night and I love arepas. The bar is cool with a fun vibe and a cool, younger, non-tourist crowd. I went with the bartender's choice. The only direction I gave my bartender was not too sweet and that I wanted peanut butter vodka or other spirits but I did not want the drink to come out peanut butter and jelly or peanut butter and chocolate. What a surprise! My drink was served in a closed treasure chest that when opened, let up a cloud of fragrant smoke. She did a PB and orange flavor smoked glitter drink! I highly recommend this bar for after-dinner drinks, drinks with friends, and bachelorette groups. read more

What an amazing place. Husband and I were staying on Vilano Beach and came across this gem right after the bridge. Friendly staff, and covid friendly. I had basic breakfast 2 eggs, potatoes, croissant which were sooo yummy , bacon and a cup of grits. Everything was soo delicious. Hubby had the Porc Boulangerie which was hands down the best sandwich ever!! It won't disappoint. No wait time like the places downtown, and outdoor seating is available. Had lunch for the first time at this charming little spot in Camachee Cove! There is seating inside and outside and they are wearing masks and spacing tables. You order at the counter and they bring it to you! It is very cute inside and they have a dessert case with pastries from Creme de la Cocoa! Yum! I had the fried green tomato BLT and my husband had the Cuban. Both were very good and one of the cooks brought over some garlic aioli for us to try with the fries! So disappointed compared to our last trip here about 9 months ago. More limited breakfast offerings as my wife and I previously had really good sandwiches, with nice bread and fillings. Her avocado toast today was not even toasted, just a soggy piece of bread. My quesadilla had a less than expected amount of bacon. Very ordinary...better food at Wawa. The cook must think covering everything with a blanket of arugula brings the quality of the food underneath a notch. Service was not particularly friendly either, and some items were never brought to the table. I had to fetch them, so maybe, Jess,, a tip rebate is in order. New owner??
