We had family visiting from the U.K. and they were staying in Oceanside and suggested this restaurant. This was such a great place for our party of 7! We made reservations and arrived during the last 30 mins of Happy Hour. We ordered a few appetizers (calamari, crab cakes, and wings). It's awesome that they offer HH prices at the tables and not just at the bar! Everyone ordered various entrees (salmon, pasta, steak, while I had the 1/2 French Dip and clam chowder). Food was delicious, no complaints. Service was excellent and we didn't experience any issues. I would definitely recommend Oceanside Broiler if you find yourself in the neighborhood. Great HH, many options on the menu to please adults and kids, and a cozy ambiance.
My husband, mother in law and I had a lovely dinner here on the patio. We opted for the front small patio by the front door because our dog was with us. We got the poke nachos to share to start and then each ordered entrées. I love a fish entrée so I went with that. My husband went all out with the fish and chips that also came with fried shrimp too. We also did the shrimp scampi which we did with pasta compared to the other preparation. They were also super nice and go our pup some grilled chicken and veggies for him to enjoy too and they were generous portions. I love being able to dine on the water and have easy parking. I would love to come back another time and dine inside.
Came to the Oceanside Broiler to celebrate my friend's bday. What a lovely afternoon. Service was top notch, food was great. They have an all day type happy hour menu. We tried the following, ahi nachos, fried zucchini, coconut shrimp,mini cheese burger, tuna avocado sandwich,clam chowder, the wedge salad and oysters. Everything was delicious. We ate everything. The service was stellar. Location lovely, outside seating over looks the Marina. Give them a try!
Ever since 5 years ago when I first visited Oceanside and walked this marina, I've always wanted to try this charming looking seafood dig with a nice patio. This past Sunday, I brought my family and parents to hope that one meal can be salvaged as being enjoyable from our very forgetful and disastrous 2-day meal journey in this city. We packed up from our hotel and getting ready to go back to the valley this was our farewell early dinner. Was pleased to see not only a few spots parking available, but that the restaurant was around 30% full. Then the paranoia set in (why is it only 30% full?) Asked and got a perfect seat in the back patio, shaded and overlooking marina. Our server Roman was great so I will give that...but take everything else. When you receive your entire order in less that 8 minutes after ordering in a seafood restaurant, its generally not a good sign. And after looking at and tasting the dishes, it was sadly evident that most of the food here is pre-cooked and quick heated or my guess, microwaved. The rundown: 1 order of a dozen oysters...fortunately these cannot be nuked, so they were delish (A+) But...it ends there. The fish and chips: Pretty good (B) not great, had a good fries and coleslaw but all downhill from there. Shrimp Scampi (moms order) beyond abysmal (F-) zero garlic on the shrimp, huge and tasteless 100% farm-raised shrimp, and a beyond pathetic reheated half ass toasted garlic bread that 7-Eleven would serve much better. This was an epic fail, A to Z zero resemblance of a scampi. Swordfish steak (my dish) clearly not cooked to order, it was nuked, along with the sides of veggies and rice. (C-) The dishes literally looked like hospital food and the sides tasted like them; the rice and veggies on my dish and my wife's which was the... Snapper and Shrimp combo....panko crusted wording on the menu reeled us in, but it was covered in a very odd and crappy creamy sauce, another easy fail and again...clearly reheated or nuked to order. (D-) The clam chowders are nice thickness wise but can't be more obvious they are canned. I like any clam chowder but in terms of made from scratch or freshness, it's an F. Taste wise I'd say a B-. So this meal just about confirmed for our family that this city is nothing but an overpriced tourist trap high-ends or low. I think next time visiting here will just stick to in and out, del taco and bagels near our hotel, period. With all due respect, truly surreal how people rate this place anything above a 3* MAX, unless you grew up eating Filet-o-Fish sandwiches at McDonalds.
Giving it a 5 because it was a great atmosphere and I sat outside where the breeze was breezing. Now for the review, my clam linguine had barely any clams and mostly shells. I didn't want to say anything as we had a large party but please pay attention or order something else. The Diet Coke was crisp and the bread was fresh. Also the server was attentive and friendly. Over all good experience but I did leave hungry as my meal had only carbs and no protein.
What an incredible experience! A stunning waterfront restaurant with amazing seafood, a fun coastal vibe, and an absolutely outstanding staff. Angie and her team went above and beyond, bringing out all their favorites -- the snapper, fish and chips, and a fantastic spread of appetizers that had everyone at the table raving. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We were celebrating Lucciano's graduation from the Marines, and this was the perfect place to do it. From the service to the food to the setting, everything exceeded our expectations. Can't recommend this spot enough for celebrations, family gatherings, or just a great meal by the water!
Had a lovely lunch here today! Our server Irish was amazing! What a fabulous personality and really very attentive to her guests. The food was delicious, we had the fish tacos and the half and half plate, plus some great happy hour menu items too! Can't miss that coconut shrimp, YUM! Great place to sit on the harbor and watch the boats, great service and tasty food! Can't ask for more!
This is an old school establishment in the harbor with pretty views and seating inside and out. When you walk in, you can tell it's frequented by locals. People swear by the happy hour. I have been here a few times. Once pre covid for a breakfast buffet and the other times for happy hours. I have always enjoyed what I ordered. They have specials by the day and they send email specials if you subscribe. 3 of us came for dinner on this occasion. They had a $10 off salmon coupon and I just ordered happy hour specials. We all had a drink, a hh margarita, beer & a virgin mango drink. The server was beyond nice and accommodating. My friends each ordered coconut crusted salmon which looked pretty and tasted good. They both enjoyed every bite. I had a Caesar salad which was good but had a touch too much dressing and steamed clams. The clams were cooked well and a generous portion but there were a few that were unopened. The server continued to check on us frequently and kept our water filled. I will definitely come back sunset happy hour here is really nice!
We had a wonderful dining experience! Our server, Cherokee, provided attentive and friendly service throughout the meal and made us feel very welcome. I ordered the shrimp pasta, which came with garlic bread, and it was absolutely delicious. We also tried the seafood pasta with garlic bread, and it was fantastic--full of flavor and generously loaded with seafood. As an appetizer, we shared the clam shells, which were a great start to the meal. My husband ordered the fish and chips and really enjoyed it as well. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. Great food, excellent service, and a pleasant atmosphere. We'll definitely be back! I'm waiting for my birthday day treat! can't wait!!
Happy Hour starting at 11am? Oh, yeah! We sat on the patio and had a beautiful view of the harbor. Our server, I think her name was Katie, was friendly, helpful and attentive. To drink, we ordered a glass of chardonnay and a bloody mary. My bloody mary was spicy and had a good kick! To eat, we tried the calamari, fried zucchini, the wedge salad and the ahi poke nachos. The calamari were big, plump strips of calamari battered and deep fried. They were fresh and tasty. The zucchini was fresh and had a panko-ish breading and also deep fried. The wedge salad was just the right size for a small entree (after having fried food) and the poke was delicious as well. My only complaint was the pickled ginger on the poke, not a fan. We will definitely be going back to try more of the happy hour options...there were a lot! 10/10
My mom and I love coming here when we're at the harbor, especially for their chargrilled oysters. She's never been a fan of oysters, but these ones are an exception. I always bring my dogs and we order them a grilled chicken breast to share and they always bring a bowl of water out for them. The patio is really nice to sit at, and there's not really a bad seat anywhere out there. The fisherman's combo is massive, but really good. Their dinner bread is warm and soft. The staff is always nice and welcoming.
Really good service. I love the vibe and the food. Our server, Irish, was super attentive and friendly. Shoutout to Robert for checking in on us as well. I recommend.
My wife and I were visiting the Pier for the first time. It was around 11:30 and we had been driving for almost 3 hours We had stopped by and asked a couple friendly 'natives' on what was a good restaurant to eat at. Both suggested this restaurant, and one thought that the Happy Hour is very close. We saw the sign and it said that Happy Hour was .... 11am - 6pm! Wow! We went in and was seated right away. I ordered Fried Calamari and it was great and delicious. What was unusual was that it felt more 'solid' and meatier than any other calamari we've ever eaten! Yummy! My wife ordered one of her favorites - Chicken Wings and that was also great. The only minor thing was that the server initially didn't seem overly friendly and a bit abrupt. Later, it seemed that she was much better, so we basically "let it go" Food was served very quickly. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Ambience, Service & Food was GREAT! Took my Sis & Brother-in-law here to Celebrate their 15th Anniversary on 4th of July. The Seating & Scenery were Remarkable! We sat on the outside patio beneath a beautiful tree overlooking the Harbor. Secluded, Scenic and Romantic! The waitress was So Thoughtful, Patient & Sweet! I told her the Special Occasion & the Restaurant prepared them a Surprise & Elegant Dessert - Which we All Shared because they were Stuffed after Dinner!! ALL Was SUPERB & Truly PERFECT!! Great Menu! Great Food! Great Price!! GREAT View!! We Will Be Back!!!!!! read more

Great location on the harbor! Prices reflect location. Service is fast and friendly. The food is good. I highly recommend the ahi nachos. Parking lot is pretty big but open to many businesses, so it can fill up during popular meal times. read more
Oceanside roiler is located at the Oceanside harbor. It's a great place to sit outside and enjoy the boats coming and going. It was a beautiful Tuesday afternoon. I came around 5pm, just in time for happy hour. You can sit anywhere to eat from the happy hour menu and it goes until 6 p.m. which is great. We got the last outdoor table and it was dirty. Our waitress, Deberah, noticed it and cleaned it. We ended up choosing everything from the happy hour menu that way we can taste test their food. We got the cup of Clam chowder. It had plenty of clams in it. 8/10. Next was the ahi tuna nachos. This one was my favorite. I liked the chunks of tuna and the drizzle of sauce 10/10. The coconut shrimp was pretty good. It came out crispy and coated with coconut. 10/10. The crab cake was also very good with mango salsa. 10/10. The garlic fries were OK. It wasn't my favorite. I wish the parmesan would stick to it better. 7/10 read more

Beautiful day on the harbor! Amazing views. All day every day (even on weekend) happy hour on aps and drinks, makes it fun and affordable. Service can be semi slow when it's busy and parking can be hard but just the price you pay for a beautiful view be well work it. Today we got happy hour beer and wine, coconut shrimp, ahi tuna and crab cakes. So fun and delicious!! read more

Coming from a New Orleans person - I had high hopes for a seafood restaurant on the water.. the snapper was fine, shrimp scampi was "good".. that was feedback from people from iowa.. the scallops to say "seared" came drenched in sauce, no crisp on the outside, and squishy. I was so excited to experience pacific seafood but was let down, only savior was the kind service... I'd find elsewhere read more

The views + the menu + the service :) From the oysters, to sweet potato fries, salad, pasta, and steak it's all worth a try. Bringing my parents here was a hit. We sat inside with a window view of the boating docks. My friend and I met for a casual lunch and she loved the outdoor seating in the back. Plenty of parking. Plenty of seating options. Attentive servers with great attitudes. It's a great Sunday breakfast and brunch spot! read more

I was really hoping for some good seafood and ordered appropriately. Had the grilled Pacific swordfish, and all I can really say about that is it was dry may have been overcooked and also very flavorless. This place is average at best. Which is kind of disappointing given its location. I'll go back maybe, but I'm definitely not gonna get that dish again. Service was fantastic and the atmosphere is really nice. read more

This is a nice Oceanside location sitting right in the harbor. But, food is not very good at all! Bland, tasteless, disappointing! If you want drinks and an appetizer with a nice ocean vibe, this would work. I would not suggest it for a full meal or a special occasion. read more

Came here on a Saturday around 2pm for a late lunch. The restaurant wasn't too busy. We had a party of 14 and got seated right away in the front room. We had a great view of the harbor. Katie was our waitress and handled our party very well. We ordered drinks. I got the Blue Hawaiian (yummy) and my husband got the Mai Tai. . Both drinks were good. My husband and I decided to order from their Happy Hour menu (HR every day 11a-6p) We ordered the truffle fries $6 , New England clam chowder $8.50, sautéed Chilean mussels $9, chicken wings $9 and calamari tempura $10 Others in our party ordered from the regular menu. EVERYTHING was delicious! Everyone enjoyed our food. I would highly recommend this place. Nice views of the harbor and plenty of room for large parties. read more
It was a quiet Sunday evening, but the ambience is always wonderful no matter what time I go to the Broiler. I was craving Mahi tacos and a nice cabernet and they surely hit the spot. Paired with black beans and rice... Yum! My phone died before I could photograph my bread pudding birthday cake! It was so, so delicious.:) Thank you Arial!! I mean, you can't beat the view. The service was great. But the food? Hard pass. We ordered fish n chips, coconut shrimp, and what they claim was bread pudding (yeah, not bread pudding--not sure what it was, but it wasn't that). Now, don't get me wrong, the food wasn't bad. But, if $100 at happy hour gets us only those 3 items--let me say it again--AT HAPPY HOUR. And all the food was fried (probably frozen at some point)... just saying. A couple days later we went to Rockin Baja Lobster, and that was worth the $120. (Granted not as nice of a view) read more

Horrible Experience Service from Melissa was non existent as she acted annoyed with our presence. She was impatient with our drink order and food order, it wasn't even busy. It was as if she didn't want to be there. She straight had a shitty scowl on her face from start to finish. The Bald Manager brought the food, which one of the dishes was going to shared by two in our party. This clearly was not anticipated by him meaning it wasn't communicated by Melissa or he didn't care to look at the ticket. He kindly offered to bring an extra plate but it never arrived. My wife had to go to the kitchen to get one after 5 min of waiting. As my wife came back with the extra plate the bald manager (didn't catch him name) followed her with his eyes focused on her butt as he just walked past us and no acknowledgment of his forgetting to bring the essential plate. Food was lukewarm at best and no presentation effort whatsoever was taken into consideration from the kitchen. Infact all the asparagus tips were missing on my dish as the veggies looked just tossed into the other food. As an Oside local who has been coming here for almost 2 decades it saddened me to have this aweful experience. I will never eat here again, and I will share this horrible experience on every local platform I can think of. I worked in the F&B hospitality industry for decades and Melissa & Manager Palone should go back to telemarketing as anticipation, memory and even just a friendly smile are too much to ask for these two. read more

It looked promising honestly from the inside as soon as we sat down we were seated immediately since we didn't care whether we dined inside or on the patio. Let me just say though... first impressions weren't great. As soon as we sat down, inside may I remind you... there were flies EVERYWHERE! Then I noticed the salt and pepper shakers were very old and dirty. The waitress was nice, but she forgot a lot of stuff and walked away wayyyy to fast. Like didn't even give us the chance to ask about getting another drink or refill or anything. Since it was happy hour, which btw isn't worth it.. it's only a dollar cheaper for dishes and wayyy smaller portions. Anyway, we started which the poke nachos & ceviche. The poke was soooo spicy! Like beyond spicy! The spicy mayo & wasabi and it says regular ahi tuna but you can swear it's spicy tuna. I couldn't even take a bit... I almost threw up that's how spicy it was. Then the ceviche was good, not great... but the chips for it were so stale! Like beyond stale! Then my hubby got the happy hour blue Hawaiian drink.... Honestly this was good. We weren't exactly sure what's in it because the drink's ingredients weren't listed in description. Then for entrees we got the chicken tenders for our daughter, my hubby got the steak & shrimp, & I got the seared scallops and shrimp. The tenders were hot and fresh which was great for our baby. Then our dishes were okay. Our veggies were sooo hard they weren't cooked through at all. My hubbys steak was a overdone a bit. Asked for medium rare but it was medium. Then my scallops tasted okay, but very very chewy. The shrimp was great & so we're the mashed potatoes. It comes with rice pilaf but I substituted for mashed potatoes. The dishes were okay, but like I said not great. Then for the price... it's just not worth it in my honest opinion. Maybe we'll give them another try... but it wasn't the best first impression. It's actually very good and fresh. Not rubbery like some places. My party loved it
Do they take reservations? Thanks to the crew here on Yelp - yes they do. The only caveat is that they only take reservations for larger parties. Table for 4 is just a walk in.
Yes, they do take reservations although I haven't needed a reservation for lunch but dinner can sometimes be very busy.
What time and days is happy hour?
I know there is happy hour every day, but I think the times changed
Does this have outdoor seating and beach views?
Yes, they have a nice patio area. In the front of the restaurant and a large side patio area. They are pet friendly. We had a fabulous lunch and the service outstanding. The view of the boats was a beautiful scene and relaxing
