Service is beyond 5 stars!! Everything was brought out promptly, every employee we interacted with had a phenomenal attitude, and our server was so accommodating! Food was excellent; I had a veggie wrap with avocado & my husband had crab stuffed flounder. He said it was the best he's had. Pricing was not bad at all! The atmosphere was so pleasant; not too loud, & they even had sound dampening on the walls which was so nice. They had live music outside which was loud when we were outside, but you couldn't hear a thing from the inside. So the sound proofing is 10/10. Overall I'd give more than 5 stars if I could. The service was really slow and our waitress was new and didn't really know the menu. someone from our group asked if they had mahi-mahi and she said to look on the menu and we couldn't see it else was ordered. At one point one member in our group went to the bathroom and saw the sign that said special of the fish mahi-mahi, and we all laughed, but it was kind of sad. A 3% credit card fee also was on there which we didn't know about but it is what it is so many places to go to in Ormond Beach probably won't be back. read more

Customer service greeting tingwas horrible. Clearly she was not a dog person. Heard about on Facebook that It was a Pet Friendly place so we took our two little dogs on a whim. One is a teacup Yorkie the other one's only 7 pounds. We forgot our stroller and we were told that the dogs had to be on the ground. I am not putting my 3 pound tea cup on the ground when we have high top chairs. It was not conveyed in a friendly manner. It was very judgmental and not friendly. I will never go back. read more

From what I understood this is a second restaurant for these owners. Food was okay. Average bar food nothing exceptional nothing stood out. There were six of us. Everyone was satisfied with the meal but there was nothing that enticed any of us to want to go back. They were busy but not crazy busy. Service was okay but nothing stellar. Came here on a whim, went a little farther to try out the Ormond location figuring it would be less crowded and easier to park. Never been to either location so I can't compare, but Oceanside was just ok. It wasn't busy at all and yet our food took a long time to arrive. Not pictured is the fried meatball app which was different being battered and fried, but nothing special and way overpriced for 4 average sized meatballs. The Thai chili sauce was a total miss - the flavor of the meatball is classic Italian and the flavors clashed. At least they provided marinara sauce as well, which went much better with them. The Mac and cheese was good but it was made with penne which was a little odd - but the cheese was good and there was a lot of lobster. Was it worth $33? I'm not sure it was. The fish and chips were good - not too greasy or heavy but also not anything special for $19.50. The brisket tacos were fine, but $19.00 for 2 average sized tacos with not a lot of meat and mostly slaw and a plate of tortilla chips with nothing interesting to dip them in was a ripoff. There are so many beach joints around - this one just doesn't get it done. Overpriced mediocre food, slow service but in a nice location. read more

What a change since it was Betty's. Staff were sharp, the floor well manage, and the ambiance perfect. Food was very good, although I ordered the Gyro and it was just ok. Instead of picking one of the restaurants around where we were, We decided to go back home and try Oceanside Beach Bar & Grill We got there around 4pm. and they were closed??? Some of the crew were still there, so I asked why they didn't announce this? Then we asked if we could have a menu again? NO menu's, no menu's? Now for days as we pass by, (We live 1 mile away) The outside tables were so crowded that we thought they must have gotten their act together. We finally get to go "yay" Nope, I now know why everyone is outside. The acoustics inside are horrendous. We sat at a cheap type table with cheap type chairs. We couldn't hear the server or ourselves talk. If you were a patron of the well known restaurant "Betty's," that was there originally, Then you KNOW how small it is inside A table of 8 next to us are yelling, trying to talk to each other. Talk about headache. Now, the prices of the entrees were absurd also. I've gone to other restaurants around and have gotten great steaks the same prices Instead, I was able to afford a Chicken Caeser Salad I'm not saying it wasn't good, it WAS but, again, Steak? Salad? If you see my reviews, I eat out A LOT! Cooking is not my forte So, I do know what I'm talking about when it comes to eating in restaurants. I picked the chicken Caesar salad because the prices again were absurd. ***You will hear positive and negative views about OBS saying we are wealthy, or we are not. We are snobs, or we are not. YES, it is more expensive to live on the beach then other places BUT, think of the people (me) who have been here before the place was built up, Those who have the little summer homes turned into year round homes. We worked hard for little Florida wages so we think we deserve some enjoyment by the beach. NOT to be snobs and afford high price meals ANYWAY, The restaurant is very proud of their prices. As we were waiting for the cheaper priced meals, I looked around and saw sooo many fancy drinks being served. Aah, No place around OBS has fancy drinks (OBS is only 6 miles long and 2 of them you cannot build on because it's the Gamble Rogers preserve.) Of course, I don't drink, I wish I could also, but, this heart won't let me. Maybe I'm just jealous about drinking but good food is better to me than a good drink Oceanside has another restaurant in Flagler Beach less than 8? Miles away. This restaurant has a younger crowd, great music, great Ambiance etc. Those of us who are on community sites, talk about it all the time Is it like Flagler?, is it a hip and happening crowd, Lots of fun going on? upper deck looking out and seeing the ocean? we couldn't wait. NOPE, nothing like that. But you can sit out on the high tops and look at the Ocean. That's always great SORRY, I don't have pictures. She said they were slow and they weren't getting enough business so they were closing early. They're were still three tables of people. This was so unprofessional. I stopped by today for supper and I was very impressed. I was greeted with a smile and promptly served a drink. I sat at the bar and had the Mexican street corn dip and the blue cheese and bacon wedge salad. I really wanted the smash burger but the dip was very filling. The portion size was disappointing as we only got 4 scallops and some vegetables underneath for $19.99. For entrees, we got the lobster mac and cheese and greek salad with no meat. The lobster mac and cheese was flavorful but came out room temperature. We wished it was hotter. The greek salad was as expected. Service was efficient and professional. The food was good! But lady manager was very rude!! We was sitting outside at one of the tables and husband trying to open the umbrella and one of arms popped out. He was fixing it when the lady manager came out and said This is actually why we don't want customers opening these now it's broke very rude tone. We wasn't not told not to open it before hand. Were we come for you treat your customers with respect no matter what we were not be rude it was hot very sunny.We just wanted shade. So far on our week's vacation in Ormond Beach we have had decent food but haven't been really bowled over by any of the restaurants or the dishes we have had. Oceanside changed this. The first night my husband ordered the smash burger melt and he enjoyed it so much that he got it again the second night. I had the shrimp and grits and they were delicious! Just the right amount of sauce and the seasoning was perfect and the grits were so good! The second night I decided to try the Cuban sandwich and it was very tasty! Glad I decided to order it! My son wasn't crazy about his BLT but oh well. He thought his smash burger was better the second night. Our daughter enjoyed her all American burger two nights in a row!
