I had a pair of frames which I'd purchased from them previously that I asked to update the lenses to my current prescription. No fitting on pickup, just take a look / here they are and handoff which seemed odd as things clearly may get moved around during the lens change. Glasses l seemed to be ok until I got them home and noted the arm was coming off, thought maybe missing screw but no, stripped screw so no fixing. When I returned to lenscrafters blonde associate told me they don't touch the arms (clearly they must to adequately change the lenses) but then switched her story to this happens all the time unfortunately and they're not held liable and would I like to purchase a new set of the same frames? (Note cleaner used has worked fine with every other pair of glasses ever owned). Also opted for the add-on of magnetic pop on/off sunglasses. They are convenient, but the magnets are well within the field of vision. When complained about the issue was told there was nothing to do but perhaps let the manufacturer know. Finally, despite several visits for re-adjustments they still fit poorly. Back to old glasses. Waste of time and money. If you proceed anyway: Be VERY careful on your selection and stock up on the "magic" cleaner.

She also addressed the extreme dry eye that my fancy neuro-ophthalmologist completely blew off; she gave me a prescription that after YEARS of suffering, finally works. Dr. Sofia Alibhai was great and so were the technicians who helped me with the routine eye care…read moreexam. My prescription lenses changed form single vision to progressive, and Dr. Alibhai explained to me the different lens options in detail. My concern was around the information (lack of) that was given to me before my appointment. The front desk informed me that they will be sending the paperwork to my insurer (VSP) and submit the claim; I will have to pay upfront and will be reimbursed with a check by my insurer. They also went on mentioning that most of their customers use VSP and do it this way. What they didn't mention to me that I will be reimbursed only a partial amount as an out of network reimbursement, which in my case was 45 USD. Thus I had to end up paying 70 USD from my pocket. Had I known this upfront, I would have gone to my in-network provider that I had from last year. The only reason I went to this clinic was the positive experience that I had with my son's visit earlier, and I know that I could have double clicked on the reimbursement amount with them or my insurer, but I expected them to be upfront about the out-of-network partial reimbursement as all other health clinics do when they are not in network, more so since they mention they deal with my insurance all the time. It was a significant monetary loss to me.
