I was new to the area and was looking to find a optometrist to get my eyes checked for the first time since high school and ended up dropping by the shop walking distance to me and scheduling and appointment. Off the bat I was met with welcome from one of the frames experts Jordan who made sure I tried out the best frames for my head shape. I ended up purchasing a pair of Chrome Hearts frames before I even had my appointment because I was so happy with the fitting experience. It seems like they just got approved to sell Chrome Hearts so they had ample selection and they mentioned they can order me what ever style I was interested in. They did have a variety of other high end brands such as Cartier, Tom Ford, Gucci, etc The eye exam also went super smooth the next and I went through everything with Dr. Henderson who gave me my my prescription. I've been back a few times to get my frames adjusted and also just to look at any new frames they had. Even ended up buying a bunch more during their chrome hearts fitting event. Ive received nothing but the best service from Urban Eyes and they're always so friendly to just have me in to browse. The place is as well kept and modern as it gets with a comfortable seating area and beverages while you wait. I placed an order for glasses that was quoted at a three-week turnaround, for a special ordered frame. It has now been five weeks and I still do not have my glasses. During this time, I was told multiple times that I would "receive a follow-up text this afternoon," but no follow-up ever came. Each update required me to call back the following week to ask for an update. I was later informed the order had been sent to the wrong lab, causing additional delays. Most recently, yesterday, I was told the glasses were in-store and would be ready the next day, but again, communication has been inconsistent. So I called today at 10:10am to hear, "wait for a text." At this point, the main issue is not just the delay, but the lack of reliable communication and follow-through. I would strongly recommend clearer timelines and proactive updates for customers in the future. read more

Management aware of the repeated issues and never addressed. I had a very frustrating experience with this office and ultimately decided to take my business elsewhere. What should have been a simple request for an annual supply of contact lenses turned into a drawn-out, unprofessional back-and-forth due to ongoing issues with the front office and management. It felt like there was no clear process, accountability, or oversight in place. Communication problems were consistent and clearly rooted in the front office. My appointment requests went unanswered for weeks, and I was later told staff were too busy to respond. During my visit, I was asked by front office staff to complete eye testing in a noisy lobby, which was inappropriate and uncomfortable. The staff member assisting us was unprofessional and had a poor attitude from the start, despite us being polite. After multiple front office and management issues, I clearly informed the office that I would not be ordering contact lenses through them and would be taking my business elsewhere. Despite this, a week later I received a bill for contact lenses I never ordered. This billing issue appeared to be another front office/management failure and reinforced my decision to leave. The only positive part of the experience was the doctor, who was great. Unfortunately, repeated front office and management problems overshadowed the quality of care and resulted in an overall disorganized and unprofessional experience. read more

WARNING: This practice has a hidden "no refunds whatsoever" policy that is only disclosed on the receipt AFTER you pay. They make no exceptions regardless of your circumstances. I was over-sold prescriptions I didn't actually need, which resulted in persistent headaches and physical discomfort. When I attempted to return or exchange the glasses due to these health issues, I discovered their absolute no-refund policy - a policy that appears nowhere on their website, isn't posted anywhere in their office, and wasn't mentioned by staff during the sales process. The only disclosure is buried in fine print on the receipt they hand you after swiping your card (see attached image). This policy is not on the emailed Rx or Invoice that they email you, and I was only shown the fine print when I filed a dispute and pointed out that there was no policy posted anywhere. They said "oh yeah it's on the receipt you got" as if I should have noticed this AFTER swiping my credit card and seeing the charge appear in Amex. This is fundamentally deceptive business practice. I researched dozens of other optometrists in the area and every single one offers reasonable refund or exchange policies, especially for cases involving health issues or incorrect prescriptions. Even when I offered to simply exchange for a different model rather than seek a refund, they refused, insisting I was "locked in" to my purchase. After filing a credit card dispute and multiple attempts at reasonable resolution, it's clear this business prioritizes extracting money over patient care or basic consumer protection. The combination of over-selling unnecessary prescriptions, hiding restrictive policies until after payment, and refusing any accommodation for health-related issues demonstrates a concerning disregard for both ethics and customer wellbeing. Save yourself the headache - literally - and choose any of the many other local optometrists who operate with transparency and reasonable policies. read more

We went over everything. The office is so advanced for eye exam it does not make sense love my experience. I will be recommending everybody to this location. This place is a trap. They lure you in with medical authority, push expensive products you don't need, and then deny every promise they made once they've taken your money. If you value your eyesight, your wallet, or basic honesty, avoid this business. My wife came in with simple eye discomfort, needing an exam before a referral. The doctor ran a quick test and immediately pushed an $800+ pair of Neural Lenses. The only reason we agreed was because he clearly promised a no-hassle 90-day return if they didn't work. The lenses made everything worse. She tried for three weeks, but the discomfort only intensified and interfered with her work and daily life. When we went back to return them--well within the promised window--the staff suddenly claimed they "don't do refunds." They pretended the doctor's guarantee didn't exist and insisted on another round of testing. Their "solution" was that if the lenses still didn't work, we should buy another pair of glasses from them. That isn't care. It's pressure. They then brought out three different staff members to repeat the same script and block the return. Meanwhile, the doctor--the same person who made the return promise--hid in the back and refused to face us. Once they've taken your money, any professionalism disappears. You're left fighting a business that makes up its policies as it goes along. If you don't want to experience the same frustration, wasted money, and stress, stay far away from this place. read more

From the first time I set foot at urban eyes I felt like I was getting ViP treatment! My doctor (Henderson) had switched practices and I loved her so much, I followed her. The owner (Dr. kindberg) personally introduced herself and said she was so happy I had followed my treatment to Urban Eyes. Ladies at the front desk are very polite, professional and warm. Kim especially since I have come in so much since then now knows who I am. Big shout out to Justin for helping me pick and get the best glasses and to work efficiently with my insurance. To Alice, for helping me with an issue with them as well. Overall, I could not recommend this practice enough. Never a wait to speak to someone in person, responsive, polite, professional, and nice! Here's a WARNING so that other people don't go through what I did: DO NOT purchase glasses from this shop. The high rating you see is just because of the doctor not for selling glasses. The nice pre-sales behavior you see *will change* once you pay. I ordered an expensive ( more than 600 USD) pair of glasses because the salesperson told me "They can make the lenses very thin. It might break more easily but I can just bring them back and have them replaced (no questions asked)." Good deal, right? So I went with it only to realize that they can just simply lie and that there is no accountability once you pay! It took them TWO MONTHS to get me the pair of glasses I ordered (they said 1 month pre-sales). And what they gave me afterwards is absolute crap, the lenses as thick as it can be. And the office manager said she has never heard of a warranty like the salesperson told me (so that was also another lie to get me to buy). When I talked to their optical manager, she told me "her concern is if I can you see through the lenses". So, I realized that's their only quality standard: If the customer can just see through the lenses they deliver. When I expressed my concern, they continually told me that they will call me back. They had me wait for days for their call only to realize that they have completely ignored me. There is no regulation holding them to their pre-sales word and they are taking advantage of their customers because of that. They basically take your money and give you as much stress as a glasses shop can give someone. This is all I can do at this point: informing other people so that they don't go through the same experience as I did. read more

Be very careful when buying glasses from Urban Eyes. I economized by reusing my old frames and still paid $795 for just two plastic lenses, which seemed crazy at the time. I happened to be near Washington Pacific Eye Associates (just down the road) a week later and asked them for a quote. The same progressive lenses with a blue light filter would have cost $295. To add insult to injury, I explained that I needed these glasses mostly for night driving, Urban Eyes staff still recommended a 'blue light filter' (gotta maximize the upsell I guess?). When I drive at night now, I see blue lights everywhere. Checking my insurance Explanation Of Benefits, I see codes indicating that the charges are duplicative of one another. First time going to an eye doctor in 20 years. Staff was extremely accommodating and made the process extremely easy. The reviews have a lot of issues with buying frames and lenses there but my experience was anything but. With one glance around the brands they carry, it's clear that they cater to those wanting to buy designer/higher end frames. As with anything, those are typically much higher from a cost perspective. UPDATE: Despite the reply from the doctor to suggest the erroneous prescription may not have been her fault, I am speaking about my experience over a year ago when her practice was directly inside the Redmond Town Center LensCrafters location. The erroneous prescription and subsequent glasses I could not wear were absolutely prescribed by Dr. Kindberg, and what made it worse was that her office did not try to correct the issue. So I have a really expensive pair of glasses I will never wear. Her office could have easily remedied the issue and then there would have been no need to warn anyone else. Original review: I unfortunately did not have a good experience with this doctor when she was at the LensCrafters location. I was talked into reading glasses (though the ones i buy at Fred Meyer work fine) and somehow during the eye exam I was prescribed a different strength for each lens. I knew immediately that there was an issue when I picked up the very expensive glasses, but was told there was nothing the office could do. I've not been able to wear the glasses so it was a big waste of money and I ended up waiting until the calendar year rolled over and my insurance benefits reset to be able to see a different doctor and get a pair that actually have the right prescription. read more

Overall a nice place in a new building. They offer snacks + drinks; it's pleasant and welcoming. Staff were nice and friendly. Exam was quick. Unfortunately this comes at a cost as their glasses are expensive, even WITH insurance. Two pairs of glasses with the usual and the exam was around $800. 2023. Spent $1500 for 3 pair. In one pair lenses came 3 times including a screw that holds the frame together. Today, I went there for the 4th time since I purchased my glasses and asked for a refund. Colette at front desk said they don't accept returns. She proposed for me to pay more to get another frame?! I would understand if I would just change my mind but when I spent my time to come in once a month to get a screw in my glasses is ridiculous considering that I spent total $1,900 in the past 4 months with Urban Eyes. On top of 3 pair of glasses I bought eye drops for $400. So not being able to returned defected glasses the cheapest out of all of them is not a high end store. Previous time people at the store were nice but today is the first time I met Colette , the person who should not be working in customer service! read more
