Dr. Kimuchi is extremely patient. He is very knowledgeable and tries every method before medication particularly with kids. We have been visiting him for quite some time and we feel very comfortable on his diagnosis. Staff members at the optic are very kind, friendly, and helpful when choosing glasses. That's is very needed because you're going to weat the glasses at all times. So better be something that suit you, you like, and fit. They even helped me with billing! The Receptionist has been changing a couple of times, but they are very nice. The only thing is that some nurses (because they changed) were rude (young one a couple of years ago), or very slow (last year). She even asked me to dictate all her report 5 times! We were very late for the appointment. It took 45 minutes because she was late with someone else beforehand. I also would suggest not performing some tests on little toddlers because they hardly follow instructions stay in one place. Dr can easily take a look to their eyes and diagnose. He's been pretty good by doing it directly. I guess at the end trying can't hurt though. I've always found parking. Almost all nearby spots are taken. Therest are compact. I don't know whay small cars or motorcycles take the big ones making people with trucks or SUVs to park in very tight spots. read more

Beware. This place forces you to pay the $39 fee for optomap. I was not told this when scheduling. Every other optometrist gives you the option for this. I asked to cancel upon arriving and finding out this information. I was told I'd be charged a $75 cancellation fee if I left. They claim it says on their website. No where does it say it's required. I had good experience with Redmond Eye Doctors before so I referred my wife to see them as well. Turned out they made false statement on insurance coverage and made us pay $400+ out of pocket fees. They advised her to do an optional surgery, and said that her insurance would cover most, if not all, of the cost. She agreed to do this based on this information. But after the surgery, Redmond Eye Doctors claimed that her insurance wouldn't cover it and she had to pay. Bait-and-switch. Now they stopped accepting our insurance as well, so we have no reason to come back. === Edit in response to the owner's response I asked and confirmed that it was not a surgery, but dry eye treatment. But it was indeed this clinic and everything else was correct. Furthermore, knowing that we suddenly had to pay over $400, we asked if there're any financing options. The person said their finance person was not here and would reach us back later. Then we never heard from them. read more

She was very patient, knowledgeable and helpful with finding a suitable pair of frames and lenses for my fidgety 9 year child who was tired and cranky after a full day of school. This was my first visit to Redmond Eye Doctors. The place is right down the street from my apartment and they have a really easy-to-book system online. I had to reschedule several times, and they were very friendly with notifying me with appointment confirmations and rescheduling. I met with Dr. Kimberly and she is super friendly (and rest of the staff as well). I was there to get a new patient check up as well as a pair of new glasses. I would say they have a lot of different styles for glasses. If not, they also let you choose sunglasses frames instead. DON'T GET YOUR GLASSES ADJUSTED HERE. I walked in with a pair of glasses that needed adjusting and the lady who helped me first off, said "we don't carry this brand so if I break them then that's on you" which is understandable but then I saw what she did to my glasses and I could see how she could have broken them. The glasses were now more crooked then they were when I walked in! COMPLETELY screwed up and I mentioned it and she said they were fine. It's always hard moving and changing doctors. I found them on Yelp, and when I arrived to the office, I immediately loved the vide of this office. They were kind, and they have fresh coffee in the waiting area. They ladies were friendly, and treated each other like family. I had just found out that morning we needed $4,000 of work done on my husband's car. I was scared to buy anything. They were upfront about costs, and they didn't push me to buy anything. Great doctor, good frame collection and friendly and helpful staff. The only problem is that they don't call if they have new information. In my case, they decided to change the material of my lenses and when I went to pick them up they gave me a bill of $50. I wouldn't have noticed if I had any other balance due but I paid everything off when I selected my frame. Initially they tried to tell me that I have to pay but when I told them that I am not going to pay for anything that I didn't approve of they told me that they'll see what they can do and give me a call. Again a couple of weeks passed by and no calls. One day I called them to see what did they decide and the lady told me that since the change was not communicated they canceled the charge. So they resolved the issue but the issue could have been avoided with a phone call in the first place. read more

This is for my experience purchasing glasses. +2 for being nice -3 for lack of skill and experience. I have Silhouettes and when my glasses broke I came here to replace them. They were in King 5's best and had stellar reviews so I was optimistic about this place. When I came to pick them up, turns out they put the order in wrong and I had to wait another week. Annoyed, but they gave me credit so I rolled with it. When they finally arrived for real, the woman didn't know how to adjust them! She told me I had to tell her what to adjust. After 10 min of trying I gave up, figured I'd have a better shot of doing it at home. The good ones can look at glasses in your face and immediately tell what has to be adjusted, she was the opposite. Didn't even try to see how they fit on my face. I had to go back recently to see have my nose pads changed out. A few days later I noticed they were pinching my skin. After investigating, turns out the girl who made the switch 1) put them in backwards and 2) out right nose pads on. Such incompetency. The pads are even labeled with an R and an L. Unless desperate, I'll never go back to this place. I'm sure the doctors office is fine, but nice employees working at the store side there don't make up for the lack of everything else. read more

This review is for my experience purchasing eyewear. I stopped by Redmond Eye Doctors back in July in search of good frames for prescription sunglasses. The attentive service and the selection was pleasantly surprising. I ended up purchasing a lovely pair of sunglasses and did not blink at the additional payment of $400 after insurance. :/ Fast-forward to October. I was in need of a new pair of eyeglasses because my old ones were a bit blurry. The expert salesperson picked out a pair of plastic frames for me and said they would be ok on my low bridge nose (lack of ;). I usually purchase glasses with nose pads but I believed the expert and I liked the shape of the frames. I bit the bullet and paid full price (albeit the 20% off) for a pair of glasses. 2 weeks later I still haven't received a call that my glasses were in. I waited another week and called. Apparently my glasses were in earlier and I never got a call. Sigh, so much for good customer service. I have had my new glasses for a few days and lo and behold, they keep slipping off my face. Great. I went back in to get them adjusted. Of course, the glasses are still slipping. The salesperson said she would get nose pads grips.We'll see how long that will take and if the nose pads help. I am $424 poorer and unhappy. I also heard they were having a 30% off sale currently, yay, I just missed saving money... In short, good selection, long wait times for glasses to be made (I have had faster service at Paris Miki, less than a week), so-so customer service, and a bit $$. I'll update this review when my glasses issues resolve. read more

Customers beware! NEVER buy any glasses from there. They are using a "bait-and-switch" model with no opportunity for refund! Note that most of the other reviews are about the eye exams (which might be top notch. I have no personal experience), whereas I am referring to the store section that (up)sells glasses. I went there to buy glasses and made it clear that my top priority was the THICKNESS OF THE LENSE! I wanted the thickness of the new lenses to be equal to the thickness of my current lenses, which is 3.2mm. Dana (the sales lady) told me that this is fine and that I would have the glasses within 8-10 days. I ordered lenses with 1.74 index (the thinnest option) and with the "digital" setting, which supposedly makes the lenses even thinner (based on Dana's recommendation). I called the store 2 weeks later and Dana told me that they had "forgotten" to proceed with my order (even though the money had already been charged to my credit card!!). This should have been a first yellow flag. Anyway, they told me to wait 1.5-2 weeks more and I did. When I finally went to pick up the new glasses, I saw that the new lenses were 20% thicker than my older lenses!!! (3.8mm vs 3.2mm). Dana told me that she considered this to be acceptable, since this is "very similar thickness"!! Also, the lenses had 1.70 index and not 1.74, as I had ordered!! Again, Dana thought that it was normal for them to make this change without letting me know in advance! Then, she told me that they can make the glasses thinner by 0.2mm by removing the digital option! And when I reminded Dana that the digital option was supposed to make the lense thinner, she said that she had never said that!!! Digital costs $60 and is a costly upsell! NEVER pick that option. Also, I asked if I can return the glasses and get a refund, since I was disappointed with the result, but Dana refused. I could not even get a $60 refund for the digital option, which they are removing anyway! So, in the end I will get lenses that are 12.5% thicker than promised (or 20% thicker, if I kept the "digital" setting), without the digital option that I paid $60 for, with a lower index than I ordered (1.70 vs 1.74) and more than 2 weeks late! I WOULD NEVER EVER EVER GO TO REDMOND EYE DOCTORS AGAIN! read more

This place is as good as it gets. I was had a swollen eyelid that wouldn't go away for several weeks. I started to get tingling on the left side of my head/face that was so bad I ended up going to the emergency room to check it out, thinking I had stroke symptoms. Good news, it wasn't a stroke. Bad news, they put me on antibiotics and steroids for another two weeks and the eyelid swelling never went away. I decided to call up an eye doctor as a last resort to get it sorted out -- and from the get go, this place was hands down the best place. From the initial phone call, I felt they truly cared about my wellbeing. Everyone from the phone to those I've met in person were exceedingly committed to providing the best experience for their customers. It's the number one reason why I decided to choose Redmond Eye Doctors over any other optometrist office. Doctor was very experienced, asked me a few questions, and diagnosed me within a minute. Yes, literally a minute. Dye was put in my eye to test for inflammation -- was just allergies due to the spring time, possibly a pollen allergy. Had eye drops prescribed. Used them and symptoms are long gone now. I will go here to get my prescription glasses next time. read more
