I went to Ocean Eyecare for the first time for an eye exam and to get new contacts. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the office and the friendly staff. Dr. Shams was great. I definitely recommend! read more

I have had issues with my progressive lenses prescription and I found great support from experienced opticians. I had to change the glasses because the frame was too big for my face and my vision could not adjust and they were able to help out. I am certainly happy with their service because I am a difficult case and they are patient with me. read more

To update, you now see several reviews from people who have been treated poorly there due to state insurance. And also, the business owner's responses are giving details at patient care which is a clear violation of Hipaa. Stay away from this place! read more

I couldn''t ask for anything better! My eye exam was great. Dr. Shams assessed my vision and explained everything thoroughly. I really appreciated how she explained my current vision, my vision with my current glasses and my vision with what my new prescription will be. Next, Jamie the optician did a great job helping me pick out the perfect frames after telling her what I was looking for. They already had all my insurance benefits pulled up and ready to go. I don't know how I could have been treated any better. read more

Just had my first eye exam at Ocean Eyecare/Optical and it was amazing from the start! I just moved to the area recently and have been looking for a new eye doctor. Called several places and no one answered or called me back. Ocean has an online booking and reminder process that made everything so much easier! The office is large and spacious, ample parking in the strip mall. Dr. Shams and staff were wonderful and so helpful esp Jordan who helped me navigate the tricky waters of a double coverage insurance plan and maximize my coverage. Lots of eyewear options available to choose from at affordable prices and none of the stress or pressure sales like going to Costco or other offices. High recommend! read more

Highly recommend Ocean Optical. Very competent, kind, knowledgeable employees! Jordan was especially helpful in my selection of frames. He took his time with me, didn't feel rushed and helped me stay within my budget! A+ read more

There service was ok. My eyeglasses took over 2.5 months to come in which was fine because they where on back order but it was communicated differently to me. Then after that I had to re-take my glasses in and have them fixed because the glass part was rotated apparently. Since I had to take them in they gave me 4 pairs of daily contacts which ran out and I didn't have anyway of seeing. They did not contact me to let me know my glasses where ready which is a huge inconvenience for me until I decided to finally call and ask if they where ready. If you want to get in and out, this is the place for you but personally I want in depth consultation about my eyes/ eye health. read more

This was a great experience and Jordon was awesome! Thank you to Ocean Optical for making my husband AND cleaning and safety was outstanding. read more

Ocean Eyecare - Optometrists Near Me - Redmond, Washington

Made an appointment at ocean optical after seeing all the good reviews and it did not disappoint! Jordan took his time to help me out on contacts for the first time. He was super patient, friendly and professional. Dr. Shams was also amazing. She was super sweet, caring and address to all my concerns regarding contacts. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Ocean Optical and would highly recommend! read more

I went to Ocean Eyecare because I had eyeglasses that just weren't 'right' from a previous ophthalmologist even though the Rx was changed several times. I went to Ocean and the optometrist examined my eyes and explained how my eyes could be better corrected. After some fiddling to get the reading part of the progressive lenses adjusted, my vision is now perfect and I am absolutely thrilled. The staff is so nice and will go out of their way to be sure the glasses are perfect and I will go back there from now on ( even though I have very minimal vision coverage through AARP) so most of the cost is on me. It's worth it to get it right! read more

I love that the staff takes amazing care of the office. While I was waiting they were so friendly and my eye exam was on point with Dr. Nicole Shams. My insurance was in network and I got an awesome pair of glasses! I'll definitely bring my family here! It's newly renovated too! read more

Don't go to this place ! Poor service ! My sons glasses doesn't fit his face and we were waiting for that peace of the sh*t more than 2 months! I'm going to buy new one ! I would give 0 star ! I see Mrs Kit put the comment and made herself more comfortable by insulting me with confusing my gender. And she want to let me know that I came with state insurance and that's why she didn't do her job properly. Thank you ma'am ! read more

If small business support is your thing Ocean Optical is the cats meow. Definitely Not a part of the Luxxotica monopoly that owns most major glasses brands and shops like target, sears, etc. Independent frame designs and service will help you fight the power! Kit, the owner and resident optician was very helpful and friendly. Frame selection was good and the optometrist on staff did a great job of working up my new prescription. read more

Booking online is super easy and quick. I had a good choice of appointments within a week. The vibe in the office is fun, friendly and casual. Everyone I interacted with left me smiling and feeling like I wish all things medical could be this easy. What's better is that Dr Shan showed me new strategies to see better and was happy to let me come back several times until we got things completely perfected. read more

I came in and Jordan helped me out unlike any other doctors office I have ever been to, everyone at Ocean was super helpful compared to any optometrist I have been to. read more

I broke a pair of glasses (don't ask). The screws holding the temples on were stripped out. I thought I would need to replace them, but Ocean Optical was able to repair them to like-new condition. Very fast work, and accurate, and the cost came in under the estimate. I will definitely be back the next time I need glasses repaired. read more

The attending inside was very kind and quickly helped me order a new pair of glasses and even adjusted my old ones so that they fit better. Amazing service and I will definitely be coming back read more

Bad salesmen tactics. Old man on the phone uses horrible salesman tactics to pressure you into setting up an appointment and getting your information. When I asked to get honest answers after I did research for pricing he disregarded and was rude about it. read more

I'm providing a follow up review to my additional one. My first review focused on my eye doctor appointment and experience ordering glasses. This review focuses on my experience picking up my glasses and returning a few days later to get adjustments. The staff are outstanding in their service and providing information. They are friendly and have such positive attitudes. I feel they are providing great care and attention to my concerns and wants. I'm never rushed. They listen and follow through on helpful recommendations. When I went to pick up my glasses, the optometrist spent great time reviewing my order and helping me try on my new glasses. I liked that all the paperwork was printed and invoices were itemized. Everything is transparent. She assured me that if I tried them at home and found I needed to adjust them, then I could easily return. I'm so glad I took them up on that offer, because it's hard to tell how glasses truly feel on your ears while wearing a mask. After wearing them for a few days, I noticed that one ear kept getting irritated. When I returned to get my glasses adjusted, they had no problem helping me and were able to squeeze me in quickly. I'm thankful that I found this place. I plan on being a customer here for a longtime!! read more

If you have a less common name, i.e. non-English first and last, expect some resistance. Mine was butchered so badly that my order had to be dug up by my phone number. read more

I have been going to Ocean Optical for my glasses for 3+ years -- since they were in a different location -- and it's been a wonderful experience every single time. I live in Seattle, and the drive to Redmond is well worth it! The owner is one of those wonderful people who is doing *exactly* what he was meant to do. He loves glasses himself, and has several pairs, and shopping for new frames doesn't get more fun than a pow-wow session with him. He is sympathetic to my need to try on at least 65 pairs before I'm sure I've found the right pair for me. :) He has a discriminating eye, too, and is great at helping find the right shape and color to flatter your particular face and features. The prices are extremely competitive, as well, and it feels good to support a local, small business. read more

Went to Ocean Optical to get some computer glasses ordered. I had done my eye exam during a previous visit and when I arrived, the young man who helped me (I'm terrible with names but I think his name is Jordan) quickly got my paperwork. I had brought in an old pair of glasses that were broken and asked if they could be fixed. He said yes, and did it for free in just a few minutes while I waited! On top of that, he showed me a pair of frames that were on sale and they were more than half off. He wasn't trying to sell me something expensive, which I really appreciated. In addition, when explaining the different lens options he didn't try to push the more expensive option. He explained the difference between the two and then let me decide. Overall I am very satisfied and would recommend checking them out. Oh, and I almost forgot - when I had my eye exam I had them do an extra test that I'd never had done before and it showed that I have basically dandruff on my eyelashes, which is what had been causing my eye to feel irritated by the end of the day when wearing contacts. Thanks to Ocean Optical, I learned that I need to gently wipe my eyelashes and after I started doing that consistently, the irritation was gone. 8-) read more

I hate getting my eyes examined, but my experience at Ocean Optical was the best experience I've had with this process. Dr. Shan was very welcoming, explained every step, and reassured me when my phobias were kicking in. I can't recommend this place and Dr. Shan highly enough. Also, all the office staff were friendly and Kip walked me through every step of picking out frames and other options for my lenses. Everyone was masked, too, so I felt safe and comfortable the whole time I was at the office. Looking forward to receiving my new glasses soon! read more

My current glasses are from this store. I brought in my own prescription as I had already had it checked, but was too pricey from where I was examined. I believe it was Kit who helped me as well. He was very helpful, neither patronizing nor overly eager for a quick buck. Very patient and helpful. Will need prescription sunglasses soon and will definitely pass by their store first. Great selection, great prices. Not cheapest, mind you, but also not pricey. Well worth the price. He's also cleaned my glasses at no charge. read more

This was my first experience getting glasses, and I'm so glad I chose to come here. Booking online was quick and easy, they called to confirm my insurance information ahead of time, and Dr. Nicole and Jordan made the experience comfortable, informative, and fun from start to finish. The office is clean and bright, and you can tell they really care about their customers. Jordan was patient and helpful as I looked at many different frame options. I finally found the ones I love, they gave me a generous discount, and the glasses were ready way ahead of schedule! The entire process was great, and I definitely plan to return. Thank you for the peace of mind and great care. I highly recommend Ocean Optical! read more

As an older person I have been to many optometrists and even a few ophthalmologists. Therefore, I can say confidently that this office is the best I have ever been to. The staff are professional and friendly. If you are older I highly recommend paying the extra money (it's not much) for the vision screening tests. Turns out they detected early cataract forming in both eyes as well as glaucoma in one of my eyes. Thanks to their screening I now know I have a problem to deal with. Early detection is key to keeping vision as long as possible. And they have a good selection of frames to choose from. Highly recommended. read more

Best eye doctors and shop in Washington. Reasonabl, friendly, profesional, CLEAN!

I bought my current glasses there and the whole experience left me feeling uneasy. The salesman was somewhat pushy and his demeanor was just strange, it's hard to put my finger on why... The optometrist was pretty meh. She was pretty forgettable. I only remember feeling rushed, maybe because my appointment was in the late evening and the staff was tired from a long day. Either way, it was an unpleasant experience. So much so that I never went back for my contact lenses after the initial appointment and have been wearing the same glasses. My glasses need to be adjusted for fit but I dread having to go back to that weird place. I tried booking an appointment for my husband and the same salesman- he has a very distinct way of talking- answered the phone and was quite rude when I asked some questions about schedules and services. I will not be returning to this shop any time soon. read more

Man who works at front desk is beyond rude! I've been waiting for glasses for about 2 months & when I called to ask if they had come in I was yelled at for even calling to check on my glasses and was told that I was the lowest priority on their list because I have state insurance. read more

Kit the salesman I worked with was awesome! I am currently wearing my frames from Ocean Optical and am loving them. Thank you!

Easily the best experience I've ever had getting prescription sunglasses. Kit, the manager, is top-notch, and he'll remind you of an Americanized, bastardized Bill Nighy: Funny, brutally honest, and friendly. He'll say things like, "Your face looks like a scorched oven mitt with those on, old chap!" Or: "Hey, Guy, take a seat and I'll get right with ya...when I'm damn good and ready!" (He actually never said any of these things). Point is, he's cool. Good dude and he'll talk you through how you're getting screwed at LensCrafters and to just trust him. Last time I did that, my bank called to see if I had been identity-thieved and if I had really approved those charges. Thought I was going on an Ocean Optical 3D underwater exploration with James Cameron. Kidding of course. Very fair prices and great customer service. Thanks, Kit And be sure to call, just to hear Kit say: "Dooo you want an eye exam?" read more

Way over priced and it took three weeks to get my glasses which were supposed to take 7-10 days. I will definitely never shop here again and will not recommend this store to family or friends read more

Brought a pair of frames here to get lenses put in them. Overall it was a positive experience. Turns out Redmond Eye Doctors got the prescription wrong and I couldn't see out of one eye. With a corrected prescription Ocean Optical had the lens re-done even though it was the eye doctors mistake! Super happy I came here. read more

Always professional, Kit and Marissa are a great team. Kit is the owner, and is the one who helps you find the perfect frames. Marissa does the optical exams and helps you find contacts. You never feel pressured or convinced to buy something you don't love. They are also happy to readjust your frames at any time, and are even fixing my wife's frames that she bought elsewhere just because we're return customers. It took me a while to find this place, and I cannot express enough how amazing it has been to come here. We will definitely be long-term customers! read more

Bad customer service. They call 3 moths after orden the glasses for my daughter in the old guys so rude.

Very helpful, no pressure. Takes all kinds of insurance. Great customer service!

When it comes to old-fashioned, personalized customer service, this is about as good as it gets. The first time I visited Ocean Optical I was a student with no vision insurance. Kit took the initiative to get me as many discounts as he could, and he took plenty of time to help me find frames that were fashionable but on clearance. He found me some great frames and offered to bend them into a slightly different shape that was more flattering for my face, and they came out perfect! Marissa also did a great job finding me the right prescription when most optometrists struggle. The next year I had a job and was no longer living on a student budget, but Marissa still gave me a free follow-up visit when we had trouble confirming my new prescription. Kit was helpful as always, taking as much time as needed to find the right set of frames. I got the scratch-resistant coating, and a few months after owning them one of my lenses got scratched up quite badly. Even though it was likely my fault, Kit still did what he could to get me a replacement lens at no cost. I moved to Arizona before realizing that the lens was in, so Kit is going out of his way to mail me the lens. When I move back to Washington I will likely be hours away from Ocean Optical, but I will likely still drive over there to take care of my prescription, frames, and lenses. It's hard to find that kind of service nowadays, and worth the trip. read more

Wonderful service, many choices available with a variety of price ranges. You just do not find optical centers like this anymore. Ocean Optical treat you like family, listen to you, assist you in finding the right pair of glasses, very prompt and honest and upfront. And they work with most insurance companies and even if you do not have insurance they find a way to work with you!! I am so happy with my glasses and lenses, and thankful I found this place, after being at Costco, Sam's club, and other optical centers, this is optical is simply refreshing.
