He remembered me and is so personable, making conversation and showing interest in me as a whole person. His office has high tech equipment, he takes time to explain results and share some of his knowledge. Dr. Wong is the best. He has helped me keep my eyes in good condition through a torn retina which required laser surgery, one cataract surgery and over ten years of eye exams. Although I am now living in Tacoma, I will make the one hour drive to see an Eye Doctor I trust. At age 66 my eye site is still correctable to 20/20 and I am able to drive without glasses. It has been four years since my last eye exam, so it was definitely time to have one. Overlake Eye Designs is very close to my work location at Microsoft, so I decided to give them a try. It is located in the same strip mall as Seoul Hot Pot, Mayuri and Malay Satay Hut. The office is on the smaller side. The front consists of an eyewear shop with doctor offices in the back. Overall, my experience here was great. As Janet T. writes, professionalism is awesome here. They are super friendly and it is great that they prepare the paperwork ahead of time here. The actual exam was thorough which I appreciate. Dr. Wong did my initial exam and Dr. Pian did my contact lenses follow-up. Both were easy to talk to, super knowledgeable and explained things confidently. I like Overlake Eye Designs. Specifically because they were on top of things from the get go. All three doctors are top notch: Dr. Wong, Dr. Pian, or Dr. Chang. From the ease of scheduling online or over the phone to discussing in detail my retinal photos with the doctor, I never feel like I'm just a paycheck here. The staff cares about my eye health and well being. Kristen, the office manager, went out of her way to chat with me and make sure I had everything I needed, even extra bottles of contact lens solution or lens cloths! I'm just in awe of this whole practice. They have a wide selection of designer high quality frames that are always being updated plus all the latest high-tech machines to watch over the health of my eyes. I just had my annual eye exam at the gorgeous new location and am pleased to report that I was once again very impressed with the cordiality, courtesy and professionalism of the doctor and the entire staff. I write this update because so many times businesses make an excellent first impression, but then the quality of their service quickly declines once you've given them a five star review. Not this one. It is clearly a quality outfit through and through, and infinitely more professional than my previous eye clinic. Their testing regimens and instruments also seem quite a bit more sophisticated and thorough than those at my prior clinic. This place is considerably more expensive, and they don't take the stand-alone vision insurance that my prior clinic did. But here is an instance where you truly get what you pay for, and particularly in view of my specialized vision needs due to the somewhat unusual condition of my eyes, I am willing to pay the extra bucks for quality and professionalism. read more
