I have somewhat complicated eye needs due to multiple sclerosis. I have come here before for glasses and was happy with them. This time it went even better. Everyone here is very knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Liaw really took time to listen to me and understand my situation. She also addressed the extreme dry eye that my fancy neuro-ophthalmologist completely blew off; she gave me a prescription that after YEARS of suffering, finally works. Choosing and purchasing the glasses was also a good experience, and I did not feel like I was being upsold or pressured to get more than I needed. This is a very convenient location near Crossroads mall. I saw Dr Sam Hsu and was very pleased by his attentiveness and his knowledge. However I cannot say the same about the optical department. They tried to oversell me on some things I did not need and were not even willing to show me the breakdown. They just expected me to pay the amount! I did go ahead with the purchase since I really liked the glasses. However I would purchase glasses again from then since not only is the selection limited, they will oversell you on things you don't need just to make an overinflated sale. I would recommend going to the doctor for an eye exam, but doing a purchase elsewhere. read more

I was running out of contacts and my eyes were feeling scratchy, so I figured it was time to set up an appointment with an optometrist. Mind you, if there were an award for the least number scheduled visits to see any medical professional (doctor, dentist, optometrist), I would win it, so making an appointment was quite a momentous occasion for me. Sam's office is very clean and comfortable. After a few short minutes, he was able to get me in to check my eyes, prescribe some medication to take care of the itchiness, and get me set up with a few sets of contacts to tide me over to when my bigger order would be delivered. The optometrist was very professional and awesome. I thought the person who helped me before the appointment was also very nice and professional in terms of helping get all the data in preparation for the consultation. The location is awesome where you can go to Crossroads Mall right after. There is plenty of parking too. They were very good in terms of communication where they called me right back if I left a voice mail or had a request for a prescription. The only minor issue I had was that I wish they had a better selection on the eyewear. It was more limited. They didn't even have kid's sunglass selection for non-prescriptive use. I wanted to get sunglasses to protect my kid's eyes from UV light but they only had sunglasses for prescriptive use. That was a minor bummer. Oh well. We are happy customers regardless. read more

Our family has been going to Vision Care for almost a decade. All the staff are friendly, caring and professional. Dr. Sam, and Dr. Lee go above and beyond. Dr. Sam gets to know the families and he understands our needs (sports, jobs, and even sleep patterns) to recommend our eye cares. What I really love about them is that they genuinely care, I had an eye infection and had an appointment scheduled. My child's eye check appointment was a few days earlier than my appointment. While I was there for my child's appointment, Dr. Sam saw me and told me that he would take care of me right then too instead of waiting for my appointment. Both of my kids have been seeing Dr Minha Lee for the past two years and she's great! Very patient towards my kids and clear in her explanation whenever I have questions. However, I can't say the same for the optical dept. For the past two years, we've gotten the prescription glasses for my younger child there, for convenience and to support the business. But all the optical staff are neither helpful nor knowledgeable about what is suitable for young children. Dr. Minha Lee is fantastic, kind, takes her time to explain things, very thorough and my prescription is always perfect. She gets 5 stars. My only complaint is with the female in the front helping order glasses and lenses. She's horrible - didn't know what she was doing, had to keep repeating the same things over and over again to her and she quoted me the wrong price for lenses. Wanted to get replacement lenses for 2 frames and was so frustrated just said forget it for the second pair. Sure hope my order comes in with the correct lenses. read more

My daughter has been having headaches for past few years and I have had to pick her up from school several times because they were so severe. I have trusted my own and my family's eye care to Dr. Hsu for nearly eight years. He is knowledgeable, compassionate, helpful, and even funny. He is professional and has given us excellent care. He uses some higher tech equipment than some optometrists I've seen previously. Mostly, we've gotten basic eye check ups and glasses, and have generally been happy with them. I have a terrible time picking out attractive frames, and I've found Dr. Hsu's staff to be helpful without being pushy; if the compliments are any indication, they've given excellent advice. On a couple of occasions, I was treated for iritis, an autoimmune condition that affects the eyes. Dr. Hsu got me in quickly (which is very important in such cases), did a thorough exam, and ensured that I had the medications I needed. My son's vision kept getting worse because he refused to wear his glasses at school. We were really concerned because he was only 7 at the time. Dr. Hsu was knowledgeable and very good with our son in motivating him to wear Ortho k lenses to also down his vision from getting worse. The staff was kind and very gentle in teaching him and us how to wear the contacts. Follow up care was amazing and my son was super excited to be able to see without glasses! Very kind staff. My old pair of glasses was pinching on my nose so badly they always made my nose hurt. I tried to adjust them myself but it didn't work. The nice lady there switched out my nose piece for free and now it doesn't hurt. They didn't try to sell me anything so I decided to come back for an eye exam. I went in for a routine checkup without any real complaints and Dr. Hsu found something wrong with my retina. He insisted on doing an extra test and didn't charge me for it. Sent me to a retinal specialist and helped restore my vision back to 20/20. Very thankful for the attention to detail that was given to me. Also, staff was very kind and accommodating. 7.13.18 Follow up: The Drs made good on my poor experience with a consult refund. So, moving from one star to two stars. Dr Hsu, Dr Wong are great. But, the office staff are awful. Not friendly, they don't smile. They will not take any responsibility for errors such as contact lens exam and fitting fees quoted and then actual. And, we were told sample contact lens' were in. So, we came into the office to do the try on. We were then told we had to schedule a try on. No apology that it was their mistake that we were not told that over the phone. Doctors: you are great. Your front office team need to all be replaced: think about the type of amazing staff at Warby Parker in Fremont and University Village. Do that, and we will return. Dr. Hsu always fine-tunes my prescription to exactly what I need - enough to improve my eyesight but not enough to cause me constant nausea. He patiently helped me move to a multifocal lens (took several tries), and spent the time to find out whether computer glasses would help in my case (it didn't). Approachable, knowledgeable, and wants the best for your eyes optometrist with great staff! I've had glasses for over 12 years, and I haven't had the best experiences with optometrists in the US because they usually over-prescribe for glasses (I would get really dizzy for at least 2-3 weeks and it would continue to happen intermittently). So I've only gotten them in Korea, but I wanted to try Dr. Hsu because I've heard good things--and I was so impressed. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Dr. Hsu was so kind and thorough during my exam and I could tell that he wanted the best for my eyes because my vision got worse and instead of assuming that he knew the best prescription for me, he let me choose the prescription that I was most comfortable with. So, for the first time in the US, I am not dizzy after putting on my glasses. And I had to adjust the glasses a few weeks later because it put some pressure above my ear, but they graciously and quickly adjusted it. Such great service. Fantastic doctor and a very helpful staff. The initial exam took less than an hour and my glasses showed up in a few days. I had a manufacturer problem with my glasses and they sent my pair in and had the new ones in less than a week. For an office close to Redmond, I highly recommend Vision Plus. An added benefit - I was trying to find an eye doctor for a few months before coming in, and all the other places had months of waiting to get in. I got my contacts from Vision Plus but the contacts were bothering my right eye and right eye only. I went back to see Dr Hsu and he swapped the contacts for me and figured out that it might be due to eye allergy. I never had issues with eye allergy and lived in Vegas for a long time without having dry eye. Dr Hsu explained that allergy could cause the oil duct to produce less lubricating oil. Ever since I started using anti-histamine eye drop, the issue was resolved. Dr Hsu is professional and knowledgeable and the staff is pleasant and easy to work with. Another visit to Vision Plus Redmond for my annual eye exam and another great experience. Dr. Hsu and his staff run a tight ship; everything so efficient. I got my glasses after two days! The staff is always friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. Of course, they would treat their customers well but I think the extra effort they put into helping me pick out a pair of glasses makes me feel like I am a friend. I love my glasses from the previous year, and this time I got a different but equally stylish. I like the selection and quality the offer. I had to mention the investment in state of the art equipment at this office. Dr. Hsu said his new machine could take better images of my eyes and cover more surface area. She even narrowed it down to two options, one was better for my complexion and the other framed my face better to help me look more assertive. I went with the latter! Overall, the staff worked well as a team and they quickly moved me along in the process of ordering. They explained everything to me clearly--prices, how to choose lenses for practicality and aesthetics (thinness)--I felt very confident in making my choices. They did offer a great deal since I purchased frames and lenses. Dr. Hsu was very personable and straightforward. I noticed how everything was high-tech in the office. He uses state-of-the-art equipment and I asked him about them. It's great to find out that he even invested in machines that do not help the business make money--they were there just to ensure the best experience for the customers (automated process) and to ensure 100% accuracy in record-keeping. Very BAD customer service here - beware! I have been going to this clinic for the last 2 years and have always found both optometrists to be very nice, pleasant, and caring. However, on several occasions, the receptionist there has been rude and uncaring. On a recent visit in December 2014, she was particularly rude and threatened to charge me for a full office visit when I requested to see the doctor for 5 minutes between appointments to check if my child's contact lens is torn. She was incredibly uncaring and threatened to charge me for a full office visit just to talk to the doctor for a few minutes between appointments. Her lack of empathy and complete disinterest in my child's condition was appalling and extremely disappointing, and I do not feel that the staff here genuinely care about their patients. read more

The sales I talked about in the previous review is named Rose. Because of her recklessness, my first pair of glasses was defective and the lenses were not a fit for me. When I pointed this out, she acted indifferently and very reluctantly. She almost didn't want to talk to me and was like, "well, this is just it." She didn't even say that I had to get used to it (although that's not true either); she just avoided talking to me as much as possible. I had to leave but I could feel that my eyes were being irrecoverably hurt every more minute I wore it. So I had to come back again. This time I talked to another sales and she gladly acknowledged the issue and helped me out. The glasses were refactored. Two weeks later, Rose called me notifying that the glasses were ready to pick up. Again, she talked in a way like "Ugh, I have to notify you don't I? What other choices do I have?". During this time, this business has moved from Redmond to Crossroad, but Rose did not mention this. I went to the old Redmond place and found that it has been moved. This would have been a one-star rating if the doctors and the reception were not so good. And since the location isn't convenient to me any more, I'll likely not to come again any more. read more

I've always had a list eye problems, and the Seattle optometrists that I've been going to never failed to show a steamy, impatient temperament. I've heard great reviews Redmond Vision Plus and decided to take the 30 minute drive over to Redmond from my home in south Seattle to Dr. Hsu. I can definitely say that it was well worth it! The shop is bright, spacious, with a huge selection of classy frames lining the walls on back-lit displays. The lady at the front desk, Ashley, remembered my name from when I walked in, to when I left the door, and she made delightful conversation. It was a really short wait, if any at all. In less than five minutes from entering, I was in the exam room. Vision Plus packs a lot of high-tech gear to fully analyze every aspect of your eyes, from the inside-out. Dr. Hsu had a lot of patience and talked me through the process, explaining the function of every procedure. It was a well-paced exam and I felt very comfortable asking him any questions I had. Definitely something you should be looking for in a life-long eye doctor. I am a community activist and I work with a nonprofit that services to low-income, disadvantaged youth, and it is important to me that the business that I choose my services from reflect my values. I know that Vision Plus is active in its community and takes the opportunity to give back, so you can be assured that you're choosing your services from a great business. RUN FOR THE HILLS NOW. The doctors are great, just as stated in many reviews below BUT the staff (including the office manager, Annette) are some of the most unkind and shady people I've come across. Whoever I spoke to on the phone the first go round literally laughed when I asked to speak to the manager. I guess it's funny when a customer calls and isn't satisfied with your customer service skills, so she levels up to the manager... I mean you might as well be talking to a wall with all of this staff. We are from CA and not once have I ever had to tell an eye doctor that I need an RX for contact lenses- it has always been part of the yearly eye exam I get each year. There is something so fraudulent going on in that office, just as others have stated below.... something is happening within the billing department and they should be held accountable for it. I requested my contact RX and they told me that I would need to come back in and pay another $60 after just spending $400 plus there for eyeglasses and an eye exam in September. Tell me how this makes sense to you, you go into an eye doctor, you get your eyes checked, they tell you your contact RX hasn't changed (so thus you assume great, i'll have the same RX to get contacts on my own when I need them) and you then purchase eyeglasses from them. They give you the spectacle RX (why? I just purchased eyeglasses from you... this makes 0 sense) and they don't give you a contact RX. I'll be calling my insurance to backtrack and see what they are really up to, but in the interim they have lost my family's business. OH and if you ever call and request to speak to Annette, don't hold your breath she won't have the nerve to call you back. Instead, you'll receive a two sentence email stating exactly whatever the laughing receptionist said to you the day before. She didn't even both to respond to my 2nd email, so I am not sure where she received management skills from but good customer service doesn't usually start with blowing someone off. Don't go here, there are plenty of other offices who won't cheat you out of money or treat you like garbage. PS. 1800 Contacts gives you a free contact lens RX, so hats off to them! Again, they stated I would have to pay $60 to get an RX that hasn't changed in years.... FRAUD. I wish I would have never wasted $$ at this place. read more

Dr. Hsu was probably the best optometrist I've ever seen thus far in my life. I've never worked with an eye doctor who is so friendly and enthusiastic about his occupation! He makes great small talk and explains everything he's doing and why and what's best for his patients. He's great and I would recommend him for an eye doctor! The front desk staff was friendly too. I liked the lady who was assisting me with paperwork and who did the preliminary eye measuring stuff. During the shopping of my new frames, I did feel like I was being pushed towards the more expensive frames or add-on w/ my lens (I have thick lenses and sometimes needs special work done on it, but not too much, just the necessary things) by one of the front desk ladies. Luckily I listened to another lady working there and who pushed me towards the cheaper frames that I preferred but wasn't name branded and was covered by my insurance. I get it, business is business, but I wish all staff encourages more ways to save or work with a budget-friendly approach and make the most of our insurance coverage. I had been to another Optometrist for eye check. Went to Vision Plus to buy glasses. Dr. Hsu was in the shop and offered to help me in finding the glasses. He gave some good suggestion about what kind of glasses go with which number. Then he asked to see the prescription. When I showed him the prescription, he said that I really do not need the glasses. It is a small number. I was taken by surprise. He cared more about me & my wallet instead of making money out of me. I do not have eye exam experience with him. But it is rare to find an optometrist with good attitude. If I need eye check, will definitely go to him. read more
