She accommodated me I was trying to squeeze in an annual eye exam in December before January's new insurance kicks in. They didn't have any availability but Lubya squeezed me in since I don't wear contacts - same day as when I called in! This is a great place for a routine eye exam. read more

I called (outside of possible lunch hour) to schedule an eye exam appointment for my daughter, but no one picked up. I left a voicemail, but no one returned my call. Their voicemail says that you can make appointments online but their website does not allow for appointment scheduling so that was misleading and inaccurate. When you click on schedule appointment button it just gives you their office number. I did not try to call back again because obviously they don't care for my business so I doubt they will provide decent service even if we managed to schedule an appointment. If they cannot even have the courtesy to respond to potential customers, it does not bode well they care about people. It's no wonder they have such bad reviews on Yelp. read more

Updating my review. My previous 5-Star review still holds as far as expertise and care go. Dr. Wendy Hoang is the absolute best, and the staff is great, but seems like partnering with the new ownership is a step backwards. I had a $25 coupon that was promised to me when I made an appointment online early this year, but it was not honored and I didn't have proof for it. I also had a $25 coupon for my birthday, but was told it wouldn't apply because I used my insurance and because The glasses were part of my routine annual checkup, which makes no sense. I am attaching a copy of that coupon for everyone to see, so that you can judge for yourself. The total cost for my glasses after insurance and copay was $153, which frankly isn't bad, but I decided to walk out and think about it because I felt cheated. I did not expect this place to use sleazy tactics. Going forward, I will just get my exam here (because the optometrist is amazing) and get my glasses of contacts online. If it costs me the same or a little more to get it elsewhere, I will do that based solely on principle. I will not condone sleazy practices. read more

In late Feb, my right eye feels itchy and went to Vision Plus Bellevue to do eye check as a returning customer. Dr Wendy Huang prescribed antibody eyedrops with asteroid in it. One week later, the right eye condition became much worse and I went to ER(photo attached). Then I was referred to see ophthalmologists. They told me to stop using that eyedrops. Because the diagnose is Virus Keratitis. Antibody eyedrops can't cure virus but the asteroid in it helps virus grow. Now I have been receiving treatment for more than half a year. But right eye vision still can't be corrected back to full 20/20(My original condition) There are two points: 1. Wrong diagnose. It wasted me one week of time, which is super valuable during early stage treatment for Keratitis. 2. Prescribed eyedrops contains asteroid that helps virus grow. It makes my right eye condition worse. I am still receiving treatment. If my right eye can't recover back to normal, I will consult legal service for this. read more

Vision Plus Bellevue was a seriously pleasant experience. I hadn't had an eye exam in about a decade and after my trusty glasses were only holding together from molding glue and willpower, I figured it was time to go in. Dr. Huang is cheerful and informative, taking time to explain my eye health and not rushing any part of the exam. She didn't mind my needing four or five flips of that big multi-lens face contraption before I was able to tell if 1 or 2 was the better option. She pointed out all the little tidbits of my eye's structure and what it meant for long and short term health. (Pro tip: spring for the scan instead of the dilation, it's worth the in-depth analysis.) Sylvia is a delight who's website description of "warm and friendly" is spot on. She got me all set up and through the preliminary tests with a smile -- even that damned 'air poof you right in the eye' pressure test machine. She was exceptionally patient while I tried on frames for a new set of glasses and sent my wife a boatload of selfies. She went over my coverage with me, priced out options, and not once did I feel pressured to buy any extra add-ons. I asked about transitions and reflective coatings and was offered options, and never told that they were necessary, only added benefits. It was endearing and stress free. Thank you to the staff of Vision Plus Bellevue, for both the great service and putting up with a picky guy who really just can't bring himself to like tortoiseshell glasses. I bought 2 pairs of glasses, one of which has transition lenses, from Vision Plus Bellevue a few months ago. One pair was slightly large, which they fixed immediately. Today I was near their location when I remembered that the right lens had popped out last night. What I hated the most was the fact that I was told everything was good and ok with my glasses purchase only having them call me and say they cannot find my insurance information, I have to pay full price for the glasses. I had an amazing experience at Vision plus. They are fairly new to the neighborhood right next to Panera Bread. I was able to get an appointment very quickly with Dr. Huang and the staff at the front desk were friendly. After checking in, I was greeted by Dr. Huang and was directed to the testing machine rooms. She was very informative and knowledgeable. She explained everything that she was doing throughout the exam and made sure if I had any questions, she would address it. She made sure to take her time to ensure I was getting the optimum level of care and service. They do dilate your eyes for the exam and you can either pay roughly $20 for some eye drop that doesn't dilate it or just go through with it. I decided to not pay and go through with dilating my eyes which were not that bad at all. I would definitely recommend Vision Plus. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Vision Plus Bellevue. The office did an exceptional job of taking extra precautions during Covid 19, and though an eye exam and glasses fitting can be an intimate process, I felt like the team was going above and beyond to ensure all safety and health measures were followed appropriately. It is a little difficult trying to pick frames when you have a face mask covering half of your face, but the appointments are spaced out enough to allow you to peruse the frames without any other patients in the waiting area so you can pull your mask down to test them out. They also ask you to place any glasses you touch/try on in a tray so they can clean them thoroughly before putting them back on the shelves. Dr. Huang was informative, knowledgeable, and so sweet. She has an excellent bedside manor. Nikki and Luba, the office team, were super helpful in picking out frames and collecting all of my insurance information etc. prior to my appointment. I seldom write reviews until I have a large enough sample size but I have to say that this place rocks on all the important components: quality of eye exam, choices for glasses and contacts, kindness of front staff, and reasonable (for Bellevue) prices. I had problems with my contacts and was not happy with my current Dr's office. I called around and and one office would only see me if I forwarded my medical records, the catch was I needed to get them to the office as they did not request on behalf of a patient. The next one would see me but it was a minimum of $189.00. When I called Vision Plus they scheduled me on the same day and said the charge would be $45.00 due to a recent prescription I could bring with me. I needed my new contacts (ordered from 800-Contacts) evaluated as I couldn't see with them all of a sudden. When I got there the front desk staff was welcoming and professional. Dr. Huang was personable, professional and VERY caring. The summary was 800-Contacts (they are now going to send me new contacts) had a data entry issue and had entered a -2.50 where a +2.50 should be. That is a problem with an eye prescription. She felt so bad for me that I had to deal with this she instructed the office staff to not charge me for the visit. She is my new Dr. and my husband will be switching to her office also. Dr Wendy Huang is an exceptional and very thorough eye doctor. As well as having great bedside manner, she puts you at ease with any questions or concerns you may have. Although, there are some good Optomotrists in Seattle, I travel from Seattle to Bellevue to see Dr Huang. Their office is beautiful with many new cool eyewear including local eyewear for you to choose from. The staff are always very kind and helpful.
