Unnecessarily passive aggressive. I came in looking for something specific, and she proceeded to show me items that were nothing like what I described. When I declined to try one of the frames she showed me (a thick chunky frame even though I had asked for a thin frame), she stopped showing me eyewear and told me to look at items myself. I had high hopes for this place after checking out wonderful reviews that I saw at Yelp. While I love the frames that I found at Lorali's and she certainly provides chic and unique high-end frames, I am deeply disappointed and frustrated about this place regarding the service that she provided. I initially planned to get only the eyeglass frame there as I'd have much more affordable eyeglass lenses in Korea where I would be travelling in a week. She strongly persuaded me to get rush prescriptions from my optometrist, and promised me to get lenses done with the frame under a rush order so that the prescribed glasses will be ready by the day I'd leave for Korea. Everything seemed too rushed to be perfect, but since she was so confident about her ability, I let her work the charm. Big mistake. When I showed up at her store the day she promised, she was busy assisting other customer and she did not seem to remember me or what I ordered (we met each other to finalize my order like a day before in the store). And guess what? Her magic guy did not deliver all the other glasses but mine. Seriously?! Are you kidding me? She acted like she was sorry and started pouring her anger towards the guy. That didn't look very professional at all. She even called the guy a few times but there was no answer. Ha, how interesting! I need to go to Seatac in an hour! I don't know how many times she's tried to charm her customers with that fake, artificial can-do attitude, but to me, it just looked like a cheap trick to win customer's heart for a brief moment and it failed on me somehow miserably. And if I have to endure such snobby attitude in order to get pretty eyeglass frames, then forget it; it's not worth it. Maybe I didn't look important enough to spend more money there, who knows. My Costco frames were looking tired. I usually replace them every two years, but somehow in the transition of getting married and getting a real job, my typical two year window became four and I was desperate for some change. The joke I have with my husband is when I tell him I want to buy something, I show him what I think is a "reasonable" price and he tells me I should go for a higher price point, in the name of quality. I found Lorali's Optical via Yelp and stopped in "just to browse" one afternoon I happened to be in Old Bellevue. Lorali was warm, friendy, and immediately got to work in finding frames. I eventually fell in love with a dark green plastic frame with the coolest feature...lenses that FLIP UP like sun shades! For someone who is constantly taking off their glasses from eye strain at a computer, this is an amazing feature! As if the glasses weren't the best part about this, Lorali and my husband got to talking about all of the designer clothing she has tucked in the back. My husband about lost it when she casually mentioned she sometimes has discount Drumohr sweaters in stock and has met Mr. Kiton in Italy. So not only is this woman going to be the only place I buy frames from ever again, she is probably going to become my fashion fairy godmother. Highly highly recommend, even if just for a chat and a cleaning of your current frames. I had my vision checked by Dr. Paula Fadhl-Pohl - who is so nice, warm and welcoming that I felt I was talking to my good friend. Lorali is excellent! I'm terrible at picking out frames that compliment my face shape and she found me the perfect frame on the first try! To see or not to see - that was the question! After meeting Paula, Lorali´s eye-doctor, I had the answer! To me this was almost a miracle, for so far I had quite a hard time at three different optometrists to figure out my right diopters. After that I was ready to move on to Lorali herself, who definitely is a PRO in glasses. She cares about the material which is used for the frame, how light the frame itself would be, if it matches the shape of your face and the position of your eyes and even if it´s right for your style and your personality. These two ladies love their jobs and are in the know, for sure! Furthermore they are so kind, friendly, patient and generous and full of passion. "The customer is always right" is their motto - and truly, as a customer I was quite pleased and felt like home at Lorali´s cosy, "livingroom-ish" place! After 27 lucky years wearing only contacts I transformed into a glass person within several months!!! Meanwhile I have two different frames, respectively accessories - an androgynous one and a more elegant, feminine one. New branch opened in Bellevue. Called Lorali's. Bought a frame and had lenses made. When I couldn't get comfortable with the new glasses, Lorali said my prescription was wrong. When I had another optical shop check the glasses, it was found that the lenses were of wrong power and the optical center was off. I have another pair of glasses I've been wearing for two years with the same prescription. When I told her that she made the glasses incorrectly, Lorali said my other pair was off!. Not only would she not admit to any wrongdoing, she would not even consider 1. redoing the glasses; 2. refunding my money; 3. or even give store credit. Amazing arrogance and unprofessionalism. Being new to the world of needing and finding glasses I wasn't sure what to expect. After a dissappointing trip to Costco's dept. I went to Lorali's hoping a small business owner would be a better solution. I could not have been more impressed with her knowledge and professionalism. She showed me a wide range of frame and lens combinations with a sense of what looked good for me. She imports a lot of unique styles and if you desire personalized service and unique choices, She is the one to visit. If you want cheap glasses and frames, go to the chain stores. Anyone who thinks this is a great place to get glasses needs to get their head (not eyes) examined. I went to this place because of the positive reviews on Yelp (they need to put some of the negative ones first) about what a genius she is about glasses. When I arrived in her store, I was shocked at the very LIMITED amount of glasses on display. I kept looking for another room to see if I could find more glasses. I should have left immediately after I perused the very limited product. Lorali chose several pair of glasses for me, most of which I hated because they looked awful on me. I finally settled on a pair which I wasn't too crazy about but I already had put in too much of my time. She said I was going to get hundreds of compliments on them. Hah! I never got one in the entire time I had them. In fact, my relatives and one friend (who I admire because she is seriously upfront when I ask her opinion) thought they detracted from my face. But this is not the end of the story. On my next eye appointment (not with Lorali's Optical), I was wearing these glasses (only pair I had until my 2nd year appointment) & my doctor asked me why I was taking the glasses off when reading something (I told him I couldn't see well when reading) since they are bifocals & I should be able to see fine when looking down. So he takes the glasses & puts them on a computer (which is a real cool machine and the latest technology) and it shows all the areas of a pair of glasses and what they represent on the eye in different colors. He then points to these TINY areas at the bottom of the glasses and tells me this is the ONLY area of the glasses I am looking through for "close up" reading! I wish I could show everyone exactly what it looked like. I mean, you really wouldn't be able to see well looking down to read because the section of the glasses to allow this were minute. I was furious since I paid over $1,000 for a pair of glasses that were not made properly for my eye issue. I guess it's a lot cheaper to make the glasses with a much smaller area for your bifocal (lower area of glasses). I never went back & never will. It wasn't worth my time. P.S. I saw a woman on my way back to my car (parking is extremely difficult on Main street in old Bellevue & it is a very "high rent" district) who was wearing a pair of glasses I thought looked terrible on her and I asked her "did you get your glasses from Lorali's?" and yes, indeed, that is exactly where she got them! DO NOT go to this place unless you want to pay a lot of money for a pair of glasses that will most likely look terrible on you. And Lorali is absolutely no genius on picking out glasses that look good on you. And it doesn't make any difference whatsoever how long you've been in a business. And big deal if all the glasses come from Japan & Italy. She is married to a Japanese man & my understanding from her is they visit once or twice a year to Japan & she loves Italy. I can hardly believe she goes to Italy & brings back glasses that do not have the fashion style & edgy looks I've seen when in Italy. read more

I got the cutest glasses! I have been searching, I cannot say how many optical shops I have been to, and I wasn't finding anything special. Lorali has an incredible talent for finding the frame that is right for your face. At previous shops I felt like the sales people were trying to talk me into thinking that something looked good on me. I got into the habit of telling the sales people that I would ask if I needed any help and would like to browse independently. Lorali had on the cutest frames so I was sort of interested in her input, and then she was just so lovely. No hard sell, she just knows what looks good with your features.
