Let's start with customer service. Blonde female associate who I already see mentioned in reviews here has a horrid customer focused persona and honestly found her plain rude. She should not be dealing with customers. That said I have worked with other associates in this location who have been great. I had a pair of frames which I'd purchased from them previously that I asked to update the lenses to my current prescription. No fitting on pickup, just take a look / here they are and handoff which seemed odd as things clearly may get moved around during the lens change. Glasses l seemed to be ok until I got them home and noted the arm was coming off, thought maybe missing screw but no, stripped screw so no fixing. When I returned to lenscrafters blonde associate told me they don't touch the arms (clearly they must to adequately change the lenses) but then switched her story to this happens all the time unfortunately and they're not held liable and would I like to purchase a new set of the same frames? Interesting that no one mentioned this policy to me previously but I'll take my business elsewhere. 2 star vs 1 star rating based on previous experiences at this location. read more

I came here on Friday cause I needed some new glasses and they had my prescription cause I went to LensCrafters two years ago back in Arizona and they had everything on file for me plus my insurance too, so I came in here. I got greeted by a guy. He was very funny made me feel very welcome. I pick my glasses and had to pay my glasses. He pick some other glasses too just to make sure if it's with my face and the style that I want so we did that right there. He told me the price and everything like that. Took pictures with me with the glasses on and it was very good. He made me laugh a lot so I'm very glad that you can make your customers laugh and feel welcomed. He told me that my glasses will come within 11 days so I was very happy to hear about that so I recommend people coming over here. The service is amazing. read more

I visited to retrieve the details of the eyeglasses I had previously purchased, specifically the Dist. P.D., as well as the general information for several other glasses I had bought there. Suchita tried to assist me but needed to consult with Rudina Mekolli about whether she could release my information. I explained that these were my personal details for glasses I had paid for at this store. Despite this, they refused to provide the information, insisting it was for the lab. I emphasized that it was my personal information, but they remained uncooperative, rude, and directed me to call and complain at 1-877-753-6727. In contrast, when I visited Costco, where I had previously purchased glasses, they provided the information I needed within two minutes....awful experience at lensCrafters. I had a wonderful experience here. I have a difficult prescription to fill - I need ultra-thin progressive lenses, and have difficulty finding frames that work because I also have a low bridge, so a lot of them don't have enough grip to stay up. I found a pair I really liked at Costco, but they couldn't do the lenses thin enough for the frame, and sent me to LensCrafters. The staff were really helpful. Everything is so weird due to Covid, but there's no way around the need to try on frames! A staff member came up, gave me a small basket to put my tried-on frames into, and said she would sanitize everything before it went back on the shelf. Awesome. The store has a great selection! I was thrilled to find some really nice designer frames there, and the prices were not insane. The store is big so it's easy to space out safely from other customers. I found a pair I like very quickly, and got fitted equally quickly. I was told there might be delays in getting my glasses due to Covid, but they showed up a week later, yeah! I wore them for a day and found they were too tight at the temples - stopped into the shop, and within five minutes, they had been refitted perfectly. I usually avoid chain stores for things like this, but I was really happy with my experience, I LOVE my new glasses, and I will surely be back for my next pair! read more

I had an unhappy shopping experience with the sales man. There were two different brand of frames I needed to choose from and he just didn't care to give me any information about the material, measurement, discount info etc. nothing and when I asked him about those info and he was rolling his eyes and squeeze as few words as he can. he was not handed back my prescription paper, he threw it back at me and refused to clean my old glass which I also bought at this store one year ago. I felt really humiliated not gonna lie! they really needs some training before servicing the customer. I know I must not be the only one who has been treated like this. Their store manager was even worse. I called her many times and she promised to call me back(she said she is busy) and after 1 hour I called her again and her coworker said she was gone back home. I went in to pick up my frames with my dogs. It was hot outside and I couldn't leave them in the car and given that this is a TOWN CENTER, you would think most retail stores here would allow dogs inside. The worker asked me about 5 times if I can leave my dogs outside in the span of about 10 minutes I was there. The service was OK, but the products are not very good. The hinge on my frames is broken after 1 month and LensCrafters won't do anything about it. They told me I needed to buy a warranty to get ANY help. They do not support their products that were clearly defective right from the start. Overall: Good customer service but sh**ty quality control This is an updated review for LensCrafters (initially wrote on August 25th) - it needed to be done. My eye test took 20-30 minutes (included dilation) - I NOW believe it wasn't a very thorough test. J went last week for his test and another doctor checked his eyes thoroughly - it took over 1 hour! I have no idea why the different doctors within the same practices vary so much! Anyhow, after sieving through racks upon racks of designer frames (ranging from $159.99 upwards), I found a pair I liked. I then went to sit with an assistant, I specifically requested photochromic WITH anti-reflective, she says they are in stock, so they'll be ready in an hour. In total my glasses came to a total of $330 (that was because I had price lenses). We faffed around in Redmond town center for an hour and came back, the glasses WERE ready, adjusted and I happily walked out with them on. I stood FOOLISHLY in direct sunlight with my eyes closed for a good 2-3 minutes, J told me there was no change. I was NOT pleased, so I marched back into the store and asked if the lenses they put in were photochromic. They weren't - they assumed I asked for ONLY anti-reflective! I spoke to their retail manager - Beth, she said we'll order them and charged me a bit more (with a discretional reduction because of the inconvenience) - I was then sent on my way and told to wait for about 2 weeks. 11 days later I got a call to say my GLASSES were ready, I went to pick them up the following day as I was in Redmond going to do our weekly shop in Whole Foods. Me: Hi, I've come up to pick up my glasses, my surname is... (then spelt it out phonetically). Stupid assistant: Ok, come and take a seat [took a seat, she rummages through the cupboard to find my tray, nope she couldn't find it]. Stupid assistant: Are you sure your glasses are ready? Me: Yes, I got an answer message yesterday saying I could pick them up. Stupid assistant: ok [rushed backwards and forwards in the lab and searched again, she couldn't find them], Are you sure? What's the last name again? And the first name? Are you sure they didn't tell you the lenses were ready and not the glasses? Me: Yes I'm SURE! She eventually found the tray in the original cupboard and claimed that "they were hiding", we at this point had been asked twenty questions and had no apology for her being totally blind. Ok, off I went... it was Thursday when I picked them up. Come Monday evening, I was wiping my glasses and noticed a scratch. How the hell did that happen? I'm always extremely careful with "new" things. I proceeded to clean them and realized the scratch occurred because there was MULTIPLE air bubbles on the anti-reflective coating. I've NO IDEA what QUALITY CONTROL they have, IF ANY - but it's ridiculous. There are currently about 10 bubbles on EACH small lens, the biggest being 1/5th inch!!!! I spoke to Beth (retail manager) this morning and she told me they have 2 rounds of quality control - why don't I believe that????? She's now ordered replacement lenses and I will get a call WHEN they arrive. So, I have to make ANOTHER trip to bring my glasses back, wait another damn hour to get them done because they couldn't do it properly in the first place! All she could do was apologize and commented "well, it's the case of when it rains it pours". NOW I know why they give you the "30 DAY UNCONDITIONAL GUARANTEE", it's because they can THEN correct any problems caused by not doing it properly in the first time. Oh yeah, be warned the 30 day guarantee is from when you PURCHASE them and NOT when you pick them up - so go and figure. We are currently waiting for J's contact lenses too, we'll see how they'll turn out! Really, I am shocked that a place can have such crap quality control on their lenses! It baffles me, I initially gave this place 4 stars - what the hell was I thinking? It'll go down to 2 now... they DO have good customer service and do rectify things, but again if they did it properly in the first place, why would they need to? read more

I was in Redmond Town Center and Managed to get a major smudge on my glasses. Fortunately, there is a Lenscrafters here, so in I went. Helpful person got my glasses cleaned and also got me hooked up with a travel cleaning kit for future emergencies. Aside from the free cleaning. they also do free adjudgments. If you brought the glasses from them, their nose pad replacements are free as well. Their consumable cleaning supplies are cheap and good. If you need glasses, then they have a wide selection of frames and will work with you to get the best deal based on your insurance and memberships. I always have a good experience at Lenscrafters and this location was no different. read more

After having my eyeglasses done there over a year ago and after going back to that store three times so they can double check on the lenses to insure that they got me the correct prescription, where I was always told yes. I found out yesterday after going to another Doctor to do my eyes exam and after testing the lenses that they did not match the prescription I was provided by the doctor a year ago. This explains the constant headaches I had wearing these glasses in addition to the difficulty in reading and seeing for over one year now. I will never ever go back to this place again. I was ripped off and most of all, they did not even care to correct the problem as they should have known after three visits complaining about the lenses that they were the wrong ones. *Update 1/8/2014* It's been quite a few years since I reviewed this store, and I recently had an opportunity to order another pair of glasses here, so I'm pleased to report that this store is still as excellent as it was when I last reviewed it 2010. I found my beautiful prescription sunglasses in my driveway, run over by my car (don't ask!), so I immediately went to this LensCrafters to get a new pair. They got my prescription from the eye doctor's office within the store (I had had my last eye exam 6 months ago, fortunately). I was impressed with the huge selection of frames - especially designer and brand name frames. Seriously, the frames run the gamut from classy and traditional to contemporary to over-the-top wierd (there was a wild Prada pair that defies description!). Huge range of price points, too. I narrowed my search down to 3 pairs. Between my trendy teen daughter's input and that of Tana, the fabulous lady who was helping me in the store (SUPER helpful, knowlegeable and HONEST), I chose a pair of Ray Bans. They could've been ready in an hour, but I opted to return the following day. I like how this store will either work with your insurance or, if it's a company they don't contract with, will help you place your claim with your insurance company. Nowadays we have Premera, so Tana gave me the paperwork to complete (2 short sections), and she attached the store receipt and instructed me where to mail the form to, noting that Premera will reimburse me "x" amount of my out-of-pocket costs for the glasses (nearly the entire amount, thankfully). She made the whole process easy and simple. Unlike the "olden days" when I was a kid, shopping for eyeglasses nowadays is fun! There are so many styles and colors and trendy looks to choose from. My experience with this Lens Crafters operated under Dr. Dana Kindberg was less than honest. I received an eye exam from this office and tried on multiple occasions to get a copy of my contact lens prescription. At first I was told that I didn't purchase my contacts from them and they could not release it to me. I spent over $400.00 out of my own pocket for an eye exam, contact lens exam and a pair of contact lenses. I was asked to come in to see how they fit and how the prescription was two weeks later, which I did. Upon driving 4 hours for this follow up I was told that the Dr. who did my exam was not in that day and that I would be seeing another Dr. I have since called on numerous occasions and as of today have yet to receive my contact lens prescription. Every time I have called I get a different story and none of the Dr.'s are willing to speak with me on the phone nor release my prescription to me. This is incredibly unprofessional to say the least. They want me to set up a new appointment so they can charge me more. After doing research, they may not realize this but they are breaking the law. The Federal Trade Commission Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) contains what's called the "Contact Lens Rule". In Title 16, Chapter 1, Sub Chapter C, Part 315.3 (a) (1) clearly states "Whether or not requested by the patient, shall provide to the patient a copy of the contact lens prescription". A prescriber may not require purchase, require additional payment or require a waiver to be signed in order to receive the prescription. I am filing a complaint with The Federal Trade Commission and The Better Business Bureau. They continue to refuse to release my prescription to me. Unless you want to be deceived and not have a good Customer Service Experience I would not patronize this company. read more

Last year I bought Armani glasses with prescription for $225 after insurance paid their part .This year I chose cheaper option "Oakland frame with same prescription and they asked for $800 ! + insurance .When I asked how's that possible she came down with $400 ?? but she explained that it is not same quality. Then some lady from counter yelled "it is same quality !" I couldn't believe it .When I asked her to explain how the same quality glasses soddenly cost $400 less ,she came with the story which is so lame and intellectually insulting that I don't want to repeat it .I should mention that I was with my wife and we where talking Bosnian Language between us , and than may be reason for treatment which we received. There used to work some professional (mostly ladies) employees in designer clothing brands ,and sophisticated language. Doctor kinderberg and her staff refused to give my contacts prescription at first so They made me to order it trough them and after I got my contacts they still refused to give my contacts prescription. I called them 10 times to remind them to email or mail my contact prescription to me and every time they said they will do it and never did it. Finally I ended up to go her office and get it. I would never go back to her office and I wouldn't recommend her, since accessing to my own eye record and prescription was a pain! read more

I the reason that I was given was that they couldn't duplicate lenses without a prescription under Washington State law... I'm only commenting here on customer service - I've never purchased lenses or frames here, but I've had mine adjusted on several occasions. I have to stop accidentally sitting on my frames... The staff here are very friendly and are happy to adjust your frames at no cost! And they do a quick and good job of it. They seem like they have fun when they work, and that attitude reflects positively on them. The facilities are very clean and well-kept. I can only assume that the selection and quality are the same here as every other LensCrafters (although Linda's experience unfortunately seems to have been not as good). read more

I don't usually write reviews, but this is an exception. I've been coming down here to get glasses for a couple of years, and have always been pretty happy with the service. The selection for glasses is expansive and suited for whatever you need. The service is also phenomenal. I was having a pretty cruddy day, due to my glasses getting busted, but was given the help and assistance a family member would by a nice lady named Alice. She was very understanding and sorted everything out and everything was fixed within 15 minutes. I don't think anywhere else can offer that kind of service. Thank you Alice. read more

Looking for an optometrist with high prices and sleazy service like a used car lot? You've found it at Lens Crafters in Redmond. The prices move up and down with the wind, and commissioned sales people focus on the sale. Glasses in an hour? Doubtful. Once they took my money, I was offered a 7-10 day window, and after 10 days no-one even knew where my glasses were or when they would be returned. Don't bother to phone - phone service is a joke, mostly focused on getting rid of you. Once they've got your money - they don't even know who you are here. High prices, slow service, bad service - they've got it all. Not surprisingly, Microsoft's insurance no longer offers direct reimbursement here due to I'm sure other questionable business practices. My glasses ran about $300 so plan on saving up for a while. There are many higher priced glasses in the shop than what I could even afford. Avoid Lens Crafters in Redmond, and maybe LensCrafters period. read more

I'm writing this review purely about the optometrist / doctor's office. I've never interacted with this LensCrafters' sales force in the main area. First of all, I believe the bad reviews of the sales force here, but the doctor's office is separately owned and they're great. I had a tiny object stuck in my left eye and I wasn't sure what it was. It had been bothering me for days before it really started irritating me so I called different optometrists. Since I'd recently moved to Seattle, I started calling local optometrists that were highly rated on Yelp. None of them picked up between 1PM and 2PM probably because they were out at lunch or it was the Friday before July 4th. And here I am, my eye's starting to really hurt (I'm tearing up involuntarily and my vision in my left eye is getting filmy). Yikes! So I call the Redmond LensCrafters that I used to go to when I lived over there, and they pick up on the first try. They schedule me for an immediate appointment and I'm off. The doctors there are always professional and attentive. But this time was particularly memorable. I saw Dr. Faulch, who looked at my eye through magnifying lens gizmos, threw some staining dye in there, and diagnosed a "corneal foreign object" immediately. She removed the sucker, gave me an antibiotic prescription to prevent infection, and I felt better in no time. While I've always enjoyed this Lens Crafters in the past for eye exams and more regular appointments, they really came threw this time and saved my July 4th. Clutch. read more

I had scheduled an online appointment for November 25th for my wheelchair bound mom who was here on a visit. I had missed a step during the online reservations (not knowing until we arrived in the morning) and as far as their system was concerned, we didn't have an appointment. They acknowledged that I'm not the first to have this happen to, and even though they themselves were slammed The doctors found a way to squeeze us in right then and there. I needed new glasses. I have always gone to Costco but their eyewear does not last. My insurance plan uses Lens crafters, so I decided to give them a try. They enforce COVID precautions and I felt very safe. The eyewear salesperson ways vey helpful. After I received my glasses, which was about a week, I felt the fit was wrong. I went back in and Shaw helped check the prescription and adjusted the fit. Great service! read more

I came in curious about whether they would have a certain type of frames which I had seen online. As soon as I stepped in indicating that I was shopping around for new glasses, the store person started a pitch about the safety procedures of how to try on glasses. When I cut in trying to ask whether they carried a certain style/brand, she said with irritation "excuse me", since she wasn't done with her instructions. So I let her finish, then showed her the picture of what I was looking for. She showed me some frames, stating they were all the same brand of what I was looking for (they were not). When I explained that they were different, she insisted they were the closest to what I wanted. She did not ask what it was that I particularly liked about the frames in my picture, or invite me to see if something else might catch my interest. Pointing to the set of glasses that I didn't like, she seemed irritated and told me that's all they had. Just to be clear, I came in wearing a mask, so I am not sure why I was met with such attitude. It felt as if she didn't want to make a sale, so I left. And I will not return to that branch. read more

The experience I had today was beyond belief. First, their sales rep looked me straight in the eye saying that they were in-network with my insurance, only to repudiate that claim 20 minutes later. Second, he was staring at the monitor, and I kid you not, for the full 20 minutes without uttering a word. When I asked what was wrong, what do you think he did? You'd never guess; he said: "do you have a question, sir? Please ask the manager". So I did, I asked the manager: "what are we waiting for?" And her response was: "everything is good", and she gave me that look as if waiting for further comments. To top it all off, it turned out that the rep had lied to me about them being in-network with my insurance, which is when I decided I had had enough and left. read more

I would hesitate to recommend this place for both the eye doctor in the back of the store (Dr. Topalova) and the sales staff. Eye doctor experience: Dr. Topalova performed an exam that took about a half hour today; the dilation procedure had been performed on an earlier visit (by a different doctor, who is no longer employed there). Eye dilation can be inconvenient, since it makes it difficult to focus on close objects. (See Mayo clinic for why you would want eye dilation, http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/eye-dilation/AN02048 .) The difficulty to focus on close objects after dilation makes it unreasonable do that on the same visit as fitting a contact lens prescription, so we did that at a follow up visit at no charge. As I had a challenge with fitting contact lenses after dilation, Jules, the Clinic Administrator, arranged for a different doctor for the fitting, two weeks later at no charge. Come to think of it, that is what my old doctor did for years: dilation one visit, present me the lenses, I wear the lenses two weeks, she checked the fitting two weeks later, that was our standard procedure. (They even gave me a gift card for the trouble of coming in twice.) After six months I declined to go back for a follow-up appointment, and found a much better doctor. If you wanting to get the lowest cost glasses available, you might want to go to Costco for different, lower-priced frames. I am not sure if the customer service would be as good if you asked them to fix a pair of cheap sunglasses you sat on, however. Another reviewer knocked off a star because he did not want to fill out the paperwork, but I'm puzzled by that complaint. I didn't have to fill out or bill the insurance myself; but perhaps that customer's insurance considered LensCrafters out of network. read more

In running around doing Christmas errands before going out of town, I stopped to refill my supply of contact lenses. I was told my prescription was only a one year prescription and had expired in November. This year was my first experience with Lenscrafters. My perscriptions previously had always been good for two years. I asked if they could extend it just until we returned from our Christmas vacation, or give me a few lenses to get me by for the next couple of weeks. I was told no on both requests, and the person I spoke with was very condescending in telling me they just did not feel comfortable doing that and I would have to come in for an exam. I explained I was going out of town and almost out of lenses and did not realize that I only had a one year prescription, I just plain had no time to go for an exam and leave town the next day. Not one bit of concern or customer service on this - just kept repeating that they did not feel comfortable providing lenses without an exam. The next morning I called my former Optical Office that I had gone to before we moved. They told me that it was a state law that a prescription be written for two years unless there were health concerns. (There were no health concerns in my case.) The technician said she would call Lenscrafters, call them on their procedure, and ask them to re-write my prescription appropriately. Within an hour she had them fax my two year prescription over to her office and filled it for me so that I could have my lenses and see over the Christmas Holiday. Apparently Lenscrafters likes to make the extra couple of hundred dollars by shortchanging patients by a year on their prescription. I called them later to ask why I had to have someone else call them in order to get reasonable customer service. They said it was a "typo" on my record. I'm not really buying that. Based on the poor customer service, and uncaring attitude, I will not be returning to Lenscrafters or recommending them to others. read more
