Response to Dr. Kristin. Please don't tell me that your office didn't know my insurance if I sent your office a copy of my insurance and ask them to call them in advance before my appointment and they told me it will be covered. As well as You told me during our appointment that you will refund me for this visit because your office charged me even before you see me. I have no problem to pay for my appointment I just don't like lies. Your office has a lot of negative reviews with same issues as mine. A month later (2.5 months+ after first appt LOL) - Went back, they said it was due to the choice of a larger glasses frame and that they usually recommend for people with such strong prescriptions to choose smaller frame. Nobody counseled me on this when I originally picked the frame, by the way. I went ahead and shelled out $25 more (they gave me a $50 discount off a $75 price tag for even higher index lenses) and smaller prescription lenses. They said they'd send me an itemized receipt by EOD that day and that they'd try to expedite the glasses since it'd been over a month since I originally came in, but that usually glasses came back in 2 weeks. I NEVER received an itemized receipt despite texting back and requesting it multiple times afterwards. Two weeks afterwards, crickets. I texted back multiple times before I received a reply three weeks after what was my fourth visit to the office. They said the glasses still hadn't arrived. They called back finally after 3+ weeks and said the glasses had been sent to another lab to get the super high index work done. I asked for a refund. They called me back and said they would give me a call the following tuesday with an update and that they hoped to have the glasses in by then and to send the glasses and a refund in the mail. That was last week. It's been 4+ weeks since my last review and over 2 months since my first visit to this office. I never received the phone call on tuesday. I texted again this past weekend asking for a refund. They asked me again to confirm my address and said it'd be coming soon today. (This is 1 week after they said they'd call back last tuesday LOL). See attached for the screenshots of the text messages. I have been nothing but nice and understanding but 2+ months, 4+ visits, 20+ text messages, and $300+ later I still have no idea when I'm getting a refund and still don't have glasses! This is pretty inexcusable, and I feel like such an pushover for not pushing this harder. Calling my insurance company and my FSA/CC company tomorrow. Poor customer service and terrible customer communication. Very frustrating and disappointing.

Literally the best optometry appointment I've ever had. I was able to easily fill out the required forms online, no paperwork necessary. The appointment itself was extremely quick and easy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Most of all, Dr. Jacob ensured that all services that were covered by my insurance were performed. She also refunded me for services that weren't necessary. Other reviews here are ill-informed. Extremely honest, thorough, well organized, and friendly. Could not have been better. read more

I absolutely loved my first experience here! It's a family run small business with Dr K.J.'s husband arming the front lines (admin and support). I sensed that it's a small team with no AI call system setup (WONDERFUL!! - more human interactions).... But that also means returning calls, being out on hold, slight delays in response, etc... are just a part of the compromise... although I didn't experience any of these - I just read other (ridiculous and seriously irrational) comments about this business and had to call attention to the OG business model (which I prefer and love). I felt heard and cared for! I was fitted for contacts based on my needs and past complaints with previous brands - Dr KJ was able to find a brand with maximum comfort - and.... I CAN SEE!!!!! Popping those babes into my eyeballs and not feeling dryness or pain and actually being able to see was a rare experience (I've had annual OD visits for over 30 years). I also found a perfect pair of specs (Boss brand) for a good price point ($330 ish) but they have different tiers of prices so there are options for all budgets. Thanks Dr KJ! Thank you! ... and your husband... and your assistant (forgot her name). I'll recommend this place to anyone I know in the greater Seattle area. And to all of those people complaining about being put on hold for 5 minutes, or delayed email responses, or you not knowing your insurance coverages and then being upset because your insurance is closed on the weekends..... the world is literally on fire with so many aspects of our lives going down the drain yet you all want to complain about petty things like being put on hold or minor miscommunications about YOUR insurance coverages....... Get a life and pull your heads out of the gutter. ... I laugh at comments like that (one star? Why? Because YOU don't know YOUR insurance coverage yet make the decision the visit the office on a weekend for an emergency eye care session and then complain about being charged for that visit and then threaten fraud lawsuits because your insurance won't cover the charge of the visit. New to the area and was looking for a new eye doctor. The doctor was very kind and answered all of my questions. The staff was extremely kind and made my experience very pleasant. My wife purchesd a glass there and they said it will be ready in 2 week. After 3 week, we call them and they said it is not ready becasue FedEx lost the packge. After 4 weeks, we called again and they said lens is not ready. We asked a fund and they said they need our name, DOB and address by email. Ok, but they are so rude all the time during every call like they don't care their customer at all. I was asking if they can confirm if they got my email and they just siad they cannot wait and hung up my phone. I called again and no one pick up the phone again. read more

Not sure what the negative reviews are about, but I've been to lots of eye doctors, and my experience with Dr. Jacob and the office is the best one I've had! They were kind, explained the breakdown of costs really clearly for different choices of contacts, and walked me through choosing a frame. Highly recommend! Doctor was fine, but the front office team was unprofessional and rude--I won't be going back, and wouldn't recommend this provider. On my way out, I checked repeatedly with the front desk if there was a copay or forms, and they said no. Shortly later, I get a weirdly aggressive phone call from their front desk saying that I didn't pay my copay and implying they would come after me for non-payment. Seriously??? I asked them about co-pay twice, but clearly they were too busy chit-chatting to pay attention. They could have easily admitted their mistake and handled this gracefully, but instead front desk guy was really unpleasant about it. read more

Keep in min I paid my bill in full at time of service I owed nothing for the glasses and I owed nothing for the "service"... at least according to them at that time... That being said here's my review. I had a decent experience here but they now decided to send me a bill 6 months later informing me in quotes "we miscollected from you, our apologies, please remit by 12/31 to avoid late fees! Thank you".....seriously? And guess what it was for the amount of 6$.... so they are going to threaten me with late fees over 6$ that they Miscollected??? Avoid this place at all costs. They try to get you on these "late fees" and screw you 6 months later down the road. If you made s mistake fine. But if you pay your visit in full and they notice it later that's a cost you are going to have to eat. That isn't my fault you misfiled or billed. Especially over 6$?? Really? Don't go here unless you want to be " I'm mind boggled they not only did they make the mistake.... instead of doing what most decent business do and eating there mistake, They send me a bill for that last 6$ gave me a deadline like they didn't just have 6months to figure this out and they want to threaten late fees. I saw the 2 reviews and decided to roll the dice as I needed new glasses and an eye exam as my optometrist I used to see retired. I went to SeeWell and the people working there seem very professional and very thorough and quick paced which I like. My last optometrist was good but kind of slow so this was a refreshing pace for me. I did have an appointment and once I arrived even as a new patient my visit I felt was great! They listened to me, they explained everything in detail. The glasses arrived in a short amount of time. These guys rocked it! My time was not spent hours of getting things done here. Simply told us to "go away" after she double booked an appointment. Booked an appointment with Dr. Jacob for my wife on 10:00 AM Dec 28. when we arrived, the doctor's assistant said the appointment was at noon, and she had booked another patient at 10:00 AM - we were surprised, we had other things to do and couldn't do it at noon. We checked the appointment card written by the doctor, it was truly at 10:00 AM. But the assistant insisted she booked it at noon, and she called us yesterday and double checked the appointment - we then checked the phone number, it was wrong, from another state, not even similar to our phone numbers - the story was apparently made up. Neither the doctor nor the assistant attempted to apologize, or make arrangements to fix the problem. The conversation was rude, they simply told us to "go away", as they had to serve other customers. We were very disappointed and cancelled the appointment. read more

Dr.Jacob, Cindy, and Chip were all very professional and friendly. Chip took the time to break down the cost and what my insurance covered under VSP. I didn't feel rushed through the process at all. I got a pair of purple Jimmy Choo's which I can't wait to wear!! They have some cute neon and colorful and (red and trending leopard) ones as well. I'm looking to come back for a second pair to change up my look. The Silhouette frameless collection is also great which has lasted me 3 years. The store is very organized and clean. My experience at Seewell... I found this eye boutique driving in Bellevue. Walking in I felt like no one wanted to help me look at glasses, the male optician was very unprofessional and rude...? Maybe he is Racial? Thank goodness I didnt use the Dr for any services... as I was told this man is married to her. I can only imagine if she is anything like him it would be a total nightmare! Issue 1. The receptionist claimed that he sent a text saying my eyeglasses were ready. Received zero texts from Seewell Issue 2. I was told I could stop by the following day and pick up my glasses by the same receptionist. IRL they apparently don't find walk-ins acceptable. Issue 3. The damn prescription is outright wrong. Issue 4. Because I walked in, I was given a bum's rush out of the place. Didn't bother to attempt a fitting, setting up an appointment for any type of adjustment, or even suggest that I call to make an appointment for any type of adjustment. Issue 5. When I told them I couldn't see out if the damn glasses, they insisted that I try them for a week. They can pay my car repair bills if/when I run off the road while wearing these things. My preference would be to pop out the lenses and take my frames elsewhere. Insurance has asked that I try these disasters for three days, then schedule an appointment to get them adjusted. My guess is that they just won't have any appointments available for the next year or so. Disgusted. Call your insurance company and work with them to resolve if you have issues with Seewell's half-a**ed service. read more

Terrible. The gentleman with the beard is the last person I would hire for any of my businesses as he is not the first person you would want greeting customers. He seems bothered with questions and mentioned to me they might as well not accept vsp insurance since they make no money off of it. You are better off visiting any other, and there are lots, optometrist in Bellevue. The 'team' there and I use that term losely has zero understanding of customer service and the bearded gentleman complains a lot about how he should own his own shop, but doesn't spend any time actually assisting customers. The Dr. who owns this store should clean house in my opinion as those employees at the front of the house aren't generating business. Instead, they are costing you business. There is a theme here. Anyway, the optometrist who performed my exam was head and shoulders above this place. They are on NE 8th street near 124th. They are a customer service machine. I would highly suggest finding that optometrist via Google (entrance is next to a bus stop). read more

I think what's happening here is people who have a rare bad experience are giving her one star and the hundreds of people Dr. Jacob serves very well aren't commenting; so, I'm going to. Before I went to Dr. Jacob, I went to another Dr. in Bellevue, received a prescription, and went for years with slightly blurry vision. I just figured I was aging and my eyes could only be corrected so far. Then I went to Dr. Jacob and, BOOM, better than 20/20 vision in both eyes with my new prescription. That proved to me not all ODs are the same and Dr. Jacob is one of the good ones. Additionally, I found her to be patient, kind, genuinely concerned for my health, and accommodating. read more

Our 11 year old daughter has been seeing Dr. Jacob for several years now. Dr. Jacob is smart and insightful, utilizes the latest technology and information, and is so gentle and kind, with a great sense of humor. She makes us feel so comfortable throughout the appointment. I made an appt. for an exam only 2 days prior. I was pleasantly surprised they were able to accommodate me with such short notice! The receptionist was very friendly & informative. Honestly, this business is hard to find if it's your first time. My GPS put me about 4 blocks away from where this actually was. So, needless to say I was on foot at this point looking all over & running about 15mins late. When I called in to see if Dr. Jacob could still take me the receptionist was calm, kind & very accommodating. I walked in about 20mins late & so embarrassed. I had very little paper work to fill out & before I knew it I was in the chair about to meet the Dr. I have been to several optometrist's. I can say firmly- Kristin Jacob is superior to any other optometrist I've ever seen. She made me feel like an actual person with my own prescription. Clearly I'm stating the obvious however in the past I've been shuffled through like I'm just a number by a Dr. that could care less about ME. Please keep in mind how late I was running & the fact I still got to keep my appointment with her was enough, let alone how much quality time she spent with me. She's assertive, a clear communicator and very generous. I have to say after running through a massive dirt pile & sprinklers (trying to make my appointment) her light-hearted attitude was so refreshing and beyond appreciated. We even had a few good laughs through the exam! :) I wasn't there long. The entire appointment maybe took 30-40mins & I didn't feel rushed in the least (when I should've been for being as late as I was.) When I went to the front it became clear to me that my appointment had cut into her lunch time. I only knew that because of the time she told her receptionist she would be back at & it was less than a half hour. That's when I was floored (internally). She cared more about waiting for me to show up & took as much time as I needed without ever mentioning it. I will absolutely be back & have already told all my friends about this wonderful Dr. Her facility is clean, comfortable, the staff is friendly and Dr. Jacob is gentle, quick & informative. Got my eyes checked here in 2014 and thought it would be an good idea to use them again for 2015. Boy, was I wrong. Made the appointment online but then called and got offered an appointment the next day. The doctor herself picked up the phone, gave her my insurance info and asked them to check my insurance plan for the new year, and she said "Yes, no problem". Arrived on appointment date, was led to the examination room and started my exam. 5 mins in, was told by the assistant that they couldn't verify my insurance plan because they could not log on to the insurance webpage due to a password issue. She will be happy to continue doing the exam and will void the fee if it turned out the insurance doesn't cover. Then the Doctor came in, showing me another patient's file with supposelly the "same" insurance as mine, and told me I am not eligible to get an exam this year. They not only failed to do their homework on checking patients insurance plan, but also violate the Dr and patient confidentiality by showing the medical record to someone else without consent! Would not trust this doctor taking care of my eyes when she shows no care for her patient's record nor having the professionalism to verify patient's insurance before hand. Red flags everywhere, so use them at your own risk!!! read more

I have been going to see Dr.Jacob nearly every year for the past decade. I have, on occasion, had to see another doctor if I was out-of-state, but I have always come back to her. After seeing the negative review here, I wanted to make sure I could share my own experiences with Dr. Jacob over the past decade. From the previous reviewer, it is clear he/she had some issues over insurance which is always, ALWAYS a nightmare no matter where you go, and that, combined with an office glitch didn't make for a great day, I'm sure. Also, I have had any number of receptionists / doctor's assistants, etc look up what was covered on another patient with the same insurance when my own insurance info was unavailable at the exact moment it was needed. This is done so often, I am surprised the reviewer was surprised, heh. It DOES help if you go to the same doctor every year. Since I have always gone to Dr. Jacob, when I am in town, she has the complete history of my eyes for the last decade. She knows when I should come in (I get a notification), and she also keeps an eye herself out for any condition that may be degenerative (I have a family history with eye sight issues). Dr. Jacob always does a thorough examination of my eyes, from glaucoma testing to retina imaging. She has also helped me through the tough times (I am too young to need reading classes!! No, actually, you're not....), and has always answered all of my questions in regards to the test results, i.e. my changing eyesight, the retina images, etc. Previous to my finding Dr. Jacob, I had stopped wearing contacts because of the slippage, but she sat me down and we tried all sorts of lenses until she found a brand that didn't slip and also didn't over-stick and I have used that brand since, very successfully. I have no qualms or reservations about recommending her services. She has been a spectacular doctor and I have always felt very comfortable with her as my primary eye care health provider. She has been attentive to my current needs and she has been diligent in checking for any warning signs that I may be having any of the issues so prevalent in my family. In this somewhat turbulent healthcare environment, I am very thankful for finding someone who is as conscientious of her patient's needs as Dr.Jacob is. I will add a quick side note in regards to Paris Miki, where Dr. Jacob is based. This is a Japanese-based company so when you are ordering your glasses from them (if you do), be aware that they tend to be more reserved and quiet than say their more gregarious American counterparts. Just a heads-up. They aren't ignoring you, they are just not invading your personal space (grin). It's a cultural thing. read more

I called back over a week later and talked to someone who was very apologetic and said she'd have to look into it. It took another week before I finally knew whether they took my insurance (they did). So I made an appointment. The appointment went well and I thought Dr. Jacob was very nice and thorough. I was comfortable with the experience. About a month later, I received a rather large bill in the mail. I thought I had taken care of everything while I was there and was certainly not expecting to be charged more! That was easily cleared up, however, as a clerical error.
