I was in the mood for some solid ceviche when a friend recommended we order from here. Personally, I could eat ceviche every day and never get tired of it. When done right, I truly believe it soothes the soul. The fried seafood platter we received wasn't the crunchiest as I felt the breading was on the soggier side but I will state that the portions were heftier then I originally would've presumed them to have been. The ceviche was delicious and packaged perfectly. Our order arrived right on time as we divulged into our Peruvian plethora of seafood goodness. Peruvian food is one of my favorites so being that I had enjoyed my visits to their other locations, I felt at ease ordering from here while in the deep woods of Kendall. The portions were hefty and I was quite satisfied with the freshness of my traditional ceviche. I took a few bites of the lomo saltado and loved the juicy tidbits of steak perfectly seasoned and paired with white rice and fries. I have driven by this place many times and it called my attention; so I finally decided to come in and omg I was blown away. We were seated right away, the restaurant is small and cozy and the service was superb. Every time we were done with a dish the table was cleared right away , we didn't have to ask for our waters to be refilled and our server constantly came to our table to check on us. Everything was amazingggg and I now live here under the tables. My friends and I shared to start the fried ceviche (el loco calato) and grilled octopus (pulpo del Dr. Moreno). The fried ceviche was a very original dish since I've never heard of that. Three large fried balls were doused in huancaina sauce and it was amazing. Somehow the balls was still crunchy and not soggy and the inside was very much ceviche topped with micro cilantro. The octopus was one of the freshest I've ever had -- it was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. There were fried potato wedges nestled underneath and it was also amazing. We also had a jar of Marajito which is pisco and passionfruit that served us about 3 rounds each. For the entree, we ordered the lomo saltado and the shrimp truffle roll. The lomo saltado was authentic and generous in portion. The fries were still crispy and the meat portion was generous. The shrimp truffle roll was my favorite. It's fried shrimp, cream cheese, and avocado topped with tuna, crunchy masago, and truffle oil. The portion was huge and I wish I ordered 4 rolls. Needless to say, I will be returning this week for a new dish and to reorder the truffle roll again. read more

I tried the lomo, pulpo, and mi causa and it was salty or something had a weird flavor. I have had better. I love lomo so much so I was disappointed. The Arroz chaufa had the supermarket sticker on my red pepper and all the employee did was come over and take the piece of pepper and walk away. Didn't offer to change my plate, didn't offer to take it off the bill, and didn't even give a free dessert (which isn't necessary at all but it is nice to have customer service) it was overall an ok place. I order a marajito pitcher from this place about 2 weeks ago and let me tell you that first you get less than what ur paying for and secondly they overcharge you by $10 for what you're getting, I always order from the one in Kendall and never have I ever had a problem with them, they give you the 32oz and the price is $35 per pitcher. This is ridiculous because it's the same restaurant just different locations. Definitely not going back to this location, Kendall can keep all my money. It's been six months since I left Miami and on a recent trip back to visit friends, I knew I had to hit up Dr. Limon. I used to go to the location by FIU and this was my first time at the Pinecrest location which is much bigger. We arrived around 8 pm on a Saturday night and it was a short wait for a table for two without a reservation. The hostess was very nice and communicative. Once seated we waited a while for service, which seemed even longer because I was starving. The server made up for it throughout the rest of the meal but I had to ask for things like the shot of leche de tigre and corn that they typically bring you when you're first seated. I liked how the payment is done through a machine that they bring you table side. We also had cocktails which were very good. The fried ceviche was just as good as ever, as was the regular mixed ceviche and lomo saltado that we ordered. Dr. Limon will always be a stop on my trips to Miami in the future. read more
