We have been to the Dr Limon in Hallandale . Excellent. This one not at all. The Pisco sour was Waterdown. the ceviche was tasteless. The gy told us the special for the day BUT he never told us the price. When he gave us the bill the fish was $72 !!! not even at Smith n Walenski!! This place has plastic chairs no table cloth are you kidding me??? four of us the bill was $385 I thing it was almost $400. Never again read more

My family and I walked into the front door of this restaurant and we were greeted initially. We were told to sit wherever and that was the only thing that was said to us. We waited for several minutes and no one came to take our order or even our drinks. I do want to thank you because of the lack of service you've offered, we found one with exceptional service and excellent food. We went to Taberna de Ignacio read more

Peruvian food being my favorite; i tried this place for the first time last night. Well pretty disappointed . The huancaina sauce that came with the yuca was tasteless and the yuca was soggy. My wife ordered the seafood chupe and the langostino was only the head... no tail. After asking the server were was the rest of this main dish item. The answer was that its only for decoration. The tail in used in other dishes. Figure that! I ordered Aji de Pollo and it was just average. I guess for those that are having Peruvian food for the first time and exploring; this place will do. But for me this is a failure. Do not recommend. read more

It was our first time and we were amazed how full it was on a Thursday night. We were immediately greeted by JP. His enthusiasm is contagious and his recommendations were on point. The staff is friendly and attentive. Certainly a repeat visit in the works. The selection was an assortment of Peruvian specialties and the bar has every possible drink imaginable. A must for all who want to like seafood, chicken or meat. You will thank me later. read more

After returning to Miami on April 2nd the first thing I did was order my most favorite lomo saltado to go from Dr Limón. I added an order of papa a la huancaina just to try it and, let's face it, I was ravenous. How disappointing! The potatoes were hard and the sauce was pale and terribly watery. The lomo was bland and the fries soggy. Either it was a new cook or the old cook was having a very bad day. I intend to go back as I like this place and I will adjust my rating accordingly. read more

Appetizers and drinks are good but definitely would not ordering the entrees again. Arroz chaufa was tasteless. Definitely overpriced for the food quality. read more

Three stars because the food is amazing but the service .... HORRENDOUS !!!!!!! Took 15 minutes to get a glass of water & our wine glasses which were sitting at the bar for that length oh time while our waitress Victoria, chatted with another waiter. When she brought us our food she never returned to our table not once until I had to ask another waiter to get her cause she was again chatting with a table for some time. Will never return here again !!!!! read more

Went by today to Dr Limón after so much insistent by my wife, I didn't want to get food from there since I had a really bad experience in the Kendall restaurant (old causa) really bad food. Anyways today we order to go, ceviche, causa de pollo y arroz con mariscos, the causa had no chicken at all, taste is average, the ceviche , the worst I had ever had, and the arroz con mariscos awful, all the food went to the garbage. Me , my wife are Peruvians and very traditional we know how food should taste and look and smell. Whom ever is cooking at your restaurant is way out of line. The problem here lies on the customers that don't know better. I give Dr. Limón 0 points. Awful food. read more

One more time these guys make it happen, best ceviche in town, or any other Peruvian cuisine demonstrating all the home delicious Flavors that only Peruvians knows how to obtain, will definitely be back very soon ! read more

It's during covid and was time to order takeout on a Friday night. My husband and daughter wanted Five Guys but I nixed that, as I'm trying to keep my cholesterol in check. So they suggested I order Dr Limon from next door. I'd had their takeout once before and hadn't bothered to write a review. I'd gotten the chicken Chaufas, which is fried rice, scrambled eggs and red peppers with soy sauce. It tasted like Chinese food, with no Peruvian spin, so I was a little disappointed. But I took their suggestion to try the Pescado a lo Macho. This was so good! They battered and fried a piece of tender tasty fish and covered it in a delicious pink fish sauce. By fish sauce, I mean fish sauce! A mussel, several shrimp, and some calamari completed the sauce. It also came with a box of rice. The portion was quite large and I wasn't all that hungry, having had a home happy hour earlier, so still had half an entree left for lunch the next day. And the leftovers solidified that dinner the night before was great, and the saying that (almost) everything deserves a second chance. Dr Limon is now firmly back on my takeout list! By the way, the last time we went we were going to eat outside, but they only had a few tables and all were full. This time, when we went to pick up, we saw they have blocked off part of the parking lot and added more outside tables for those who are seeking covid safe dining. read more

I don't know what happen to my review so I'm writing it again. Food was very bland but pretty to look at. Disappointing to taste. My fish filet had no seasoning at all. Tostones with crab was very good or it would get two stars. read more

Wow - what an amazing lunch experience. Was in town for a conference and a large group of us went to Dr. Limon for lunch. We sampled a few of their apps (croquettes, pork belly, and a garlic shrimp) that were all amazing. I had one of the fresh, flavorful ceviche dishes while others enjoyed some sushi and other fish entrees. We finIshed with some spectacular flan and a slice of chocolate cake. The dishes were artistically plated to perfectly complement the fresh modern decor. The full five-star review was earned by the warm, welcoming and attentive staff. Nothing but smiles from arrival to departure. Highly recommend. read more

They say looks can be deceiving...and they sure are with this place. Yes, it may look small but the service, food, and the treatment makes it HUGE and excellent. As a party of three, we couldn't agree more on how great the service here was. The food was fresh and on point We all got different plates including a soup of fish and EVERYTHING was delicious. The server "MARU" was AmAzing!!! She even brought us two different sample drinks on the house. Overall, we couldn't be more pleased. Dr. Limón deserves these 5 stars I would say from the moment u enter the restaurant you are greeted by a sweet hostess. Wait times may vary depending on time a day also be aware that parking can get hectic but you can't fault them on this. We have been to this location a couple times and each time we've had a wonderful and different experience all waiters are pretty amazing with many suggestions. Alcoholic beverages are so tasty and it hits it home. Our clear favorite is the tallarines verde with churrasco oh boy!!! Also if unsure ask the waiter for any recommendations u will not be disappointed. A must go!!! read more

Worse place ever. I usually go to the Kendall location and they are remarkable. This location I tried twice. But now I remember why I never wanted to come back. Tuesday night I ordered churrosaco for my kids and I. There were two different orders. However, the meat was old and smelled so terrible. I had not realized but after my eldest told me it tasted bad I knew there was something wrong because she is a steak lover. So I tried mine and I had to throw it up because it had that terrible old steak smell. I usually don't write a review but this was so awful and I'm still here trying to have my baby recover from it. Then after letting I believe the owner was about the steak. He then tells me what do you want me to do. I was livid no apology or anything. Then he mentioned that he would take the plate off the total but he didn't. So I had to go back and tell the waiter. But the worse part was we went home and my toddler kept throwing up and we had the worse thankgiving ever the next day and finally today I took her in. Her pediatrician had to inject her to keep her fluid and food down. I am so upset and I have never been to a very well known restaurant and have the steak go bad. I thought things like this would never happen in the United States. Please be aware and remember to enter at your own risk. As for me lesson learned I will never serve my toddler first unless I try the food when eating out. I would give this resturant 0 stars but I had to pick atleast one. read more
