I found this diner on Tik Tok so I feel like I HAD to come visit. The place was busy as I expected and the inside was decorated so cute and vintage with records and cds and pictures and old games plastered on the walls. Our server was so nice and patient with us as well. I ordered the special they had which was some waffles that had ice cream and caramel and pecans spread on top, and a side of grits and my boo ordered avocado toast with hashbrowns on the side. The food was delicious and the ice cream was an added touch to the waffle. Felt like dessert for breakfast but that's exactly what i was craving 10/10 Will have to come back

My husband has never met a diner he didn't want to try, so naturally we had to go to the Oasis Diner when we visited Plainfield. It originally opened in 1954, according to the mural outside, and it is a quaint, cozy and delicious little spot with quick, friendly service. We tried the Oasis burger; the short stack meal; the Quaker breakfast; and the Indianapolis country-fried breakfast. The portion sizes were generous -- our teenager couldn't finish the double-patty burger -- and everything we tried was tasty. Our kids especially liked the housemade sodas! We only had two minor issues: The booth was a little *too* cozy for four fully grown folks, and I wish we'd saved room for pie! We might start with a piece of strawberry-rhubarb next time.

Well, we stopped in here on our way back to Kentucky from Plainfield, this place. This place was originally opened in 1954, according to the mural outside. The place was busy. Despite that, the staff was very attentive. I just love the decor of vintage records, pictures, and old games plastered all over the walls, giving the 1960s dinner feel. I had the Oasis Burger, which is a double burger with pulled pork, bacon, BBQ sauce, coleslaw, pickles, and cheddar cheese served on a brioche bun, while my wife had the Quaker Cheeseburger, which is served with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle on a brioche bun. She added bacon as well. They are all served with your choice of regular side and a pickle spear. I had the onion rings with the Sriracha ranch sauce, which is excellent; my wife had her onion rings with ranch. We both had Beignets for dessert. Be sure to try out their root beer, as it was delicious!!

Absolutely wonderful! My daughter and I went after a birthday party and both of us decided this was a "go back" spot! I had the special- smoked sausage, saurkraut, green beans, and mashed potatoes with gravy. Kiddo had chicken tenders, and we shared an appetizer sampler. Everything was delicious! I had zero complaints. We topped it off with a small ice cream, also yummy. I definitely missed food pics. We were starved!

My son and I were out doing some winter clothes shopping and decided to grab lunch at Oasis Diner. We got a kick out of the atmosphere and the food was excellent. I had the tenderloin sliders - great deal and perfectly prepared. My son had the Oasis burger and it was a monster! He ate every bite. We were too full for dessert but it looked tempting - next time!

Pretty darn good. We were looking for something easy but no fast food on our way out to buy plants. Stopped at Oasis diner. Ordered a burger and some chili plus raspberry tea. The tea was too sweet for me but by husband loved it. A personal thing not the restaurant's issue burger was good and fries were terrific. Chili was good as well. Server was delightful and friendly. Food took a while but place was busy so not too bad overall. Will definitely stop again when we are out that way

The service was great, our waiter was very kind & helpful. The food was okay, like a 5 or 6 out of 10. The fries were pretty good, but my Philly was meh. The atmosphere was very cool though. I'd go back just to get a milkshake and enjoy the music & decor.

    Pork Tenderloin sandwich and fries!

From the moment we pulled up, the old-school vibe hit us in the best way -- neon signs, retro booths, and that classic diner energy you just can't fake. Everyone there was extremely friendly and made us feel right at home. The menu is full of Westside classics, and everything we ordered hit the spot. My husband and I both got the double cheeseburgers, which were juicy, cheesy, and perfectly cooked -- just like a diner burger should be. The kids had kids' meals with cheeseburgers that were huge (definitely not your typical tiny kids' portions -- they were thrilled!). We also had to try the chili cheese dogs, which were messy in the best way and packed with flavor. And the malts -- wow. We went full nostalgic with a chocolate and a strawberry malt, and they were perfectly thick, creamy, and sweet. Total throwback in the best way possible. If you're craving a fun, family-friendly spot with great food, friendly faces, and a blast-from-the-past atmosphere, Mel's is the place! We'll definitely be back.

It was delicious, and we've eaten there a few times since and always have a great experience. We both have been wanting to try some of their lunch specials, but we work and can't get there to check it out. We were off today and decided to go there for lunch because they were having chicken and noodles, and that's one of my favorite meals. It did not disappoint at all. My boyfriend and I both enjoyed our meals and even ordered seconds to go, so we could have it for dinner. The chicken and noodles came with mashed potatoes, corn or green beans, and a roll. You could definitely tell the food was homemade too. Delicious! The Farmhouse Diner isn't a very big restaurant and can get pretty busy. It reminds me of a little country diner where all the local farmers and their wives go to eat breakfast and lunch. The staff is always super friendly and attentive too. We will definitely be going back.

This charming classic diner was busy when we arrived around 11 am. Our server told us to sit anywhere at one of the booths or tables. The place has about 16 tables. The grill is open to the dining room and Jimmy was busy frying eggs and dishing up grits. Vintage local photos hang in the wall. Our server recommended the pork tenderloin or the BLT sandwich. Specials were listed on a blackboard. The menu offers a broad selection of breakfast and sandwich items. Beverages came out quickly. Our server was friendly, engaging and a super 5 star. My husband tried the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich with fries. Jimmy batters and fries the tenderloin right before your eyes. The sandwich is hearty and juicy. I had the fried chicken lunch special which comes with mashed potatoes, green beans and toast. The plate was huge. I'm a connoisseur of mashed potatoes and these mashed potatoes were made fresh with bits of red skin and topped with a creamy gravy. The chicken was moist inside with a crispy coating. The green beans were ok. I was too full to try the desserts, but the blueberry shortcake sounded awesome. Another day. Restrooms are clean. A parking lot is available behind the building.
