This place was packed, and there was no table available to sit when we visited. Upon entering, I smelt public restroom smell, and as I was walking toward the kiosk, I thought the restroom must be close by. I looked around and saw the sign that read "restroom is under the service and is unavailable to the public". It made sense. Anyways, although I could not say of restroom smell outwardly, I wished that we could sit outside because of it, and luckily the table outside shortly became available. The taste of the mango melon bingsoo was the same as the LA location, but the honeydew dish size was smaller than that of LA. I liked LA location better (parking is $5 though) for wider table area and clean vibe. If you happen to come to Pasadena location and have difficulty finding seats, go out of the building and turn toward the paid parking lot next to Oakobing because there are some seating areas behind the parking lot (we were informed of this seating place by the employee of Oakobing). read more

I come here pretty often and the shaved ice is always top tier for me. My top order is either the injeolmi or the green tea shaved ice, both of which I and many of friends enjoy. Service is pretty much non existent considering you order on a kiosk but I'm not complaining and I honestly don't really mind that at all. Although, the interior is very small and sometimes really hard to find a table to sit at when it gets busy but the place is kept clean. Despite there being a parking lot right next door, I seriously don't get why parking is $10. Shaved ice portion is huge so it's best to share it with 2-3 other people. This is the second location I've been to besides the one in K-town. The texture of the shaved snow is delicate, soft, and flavorful. The excellent quality is comparable to another dessert franchise called "Sul and Beans" which is also one of my favorites. First time to this location and overall experience was decent. I really enjoyed the smaller sizes of the shaved ice so that we could try all their different flavors. I personally like the mango melon the best but the oreo tiramisu is a close second. The shaved ice itself is so sweet, maybe a bit overly sweet, that we didn't add in the condensed milk or other toppings. You order through an iPad in the front and pay there too, not a lot of interaction with the staff. They mainly just stay behind the counter and work on the orders. The store itself was small and a little bit dirty, the tables were not cleaned off and had residual melted shaved ice and some chairs were sticky. Towards the end of our visit, there was an overwhelming sewage smell, not sure if it's because they were cleaning before closing or some plumbing issues but we had to head out after that. Extremely disappointing for "bingsoo" shaved ice. It is more taiwanese style shaved snow in appearance and flavor, of which im not a fan. Also our shaved ice came on a SMALL PLASTIC PLATE for a mountain of ice rather than a proper serving bowl. It did not meet the expectation of bingsoo in its flavor or look. The interior also looked half finished and unintentional. Sul & Beans or somewhere with proper korean bingsoo will get my business going forward. read more

I love shaved ice, I love bingsu. I searched best bingsu in LA and this came up. SO I went. I got the biggest thing I could find, the Melon bowl mango shaved ice. I ate the entire thing by myself. The melon was divine, absolutely to die for. After gorging myself on the ice I then waited for the melon bowl itself to thaw out, then I ate every last edible part of it. Wow. Overall it was "meh." Ordered the matcha because they seriously have limited choices, if you don't want fruity or kid-friendly flavors like Oreo. My companion ordered the melon and Oreo. Bingsu is something that's available in my hometown but not easily accessible in LA. When I went to look for hometown foods, Oakobing drew my interest with their presentation but in store, their prices and environment of the store won me over. The bingsu they prepared hit the spot and scratched the itch perfectly for me. The small serving is perfect for one or two people and their regular sizes can be enjoyed by larger parties. This place is honestly disgusting. Walked here with our four year old because of the good reviews but people must really just be accepting the bad for the good to give this place five stars. MOST EGREGIOUS but the last straw was the "back" of the "booths" is shoddily Velcro'd onto the wall and fell on our child hitting her in the back of the head. She wasn't pulling on it or being rough. But to start... the second you open the door it reeks of cleaner to the point where it would give you a headache if you sat for more than 30 seconds. Yet somehow this entire place manages to be absolutely filthy. Dirty sticky floors and even worse tables. I understand it's busy and the tables are likely from high customer turnover but it doesn't look like the store is cleaned at all regularly. The only way to place an order is on the one kiosk so it's not like staff is busy taking orders to excuse the state of this place. I can't make any statement to the taste of the desserts because we left when our daughter got hit with the booth. Wasn't worth waiting for what we paid for. Maybe try the original location in DTLA but treat yourself to a more enjoyable experience than this if you're in Pasadena. read more

Shave ice here is yummy, service superb BUT the place itself was filthy, I went afternoon on a Thursday, only one table had customer, we sat down had to wipe the seats down because you can see the filth in the nooks and crannies, spilled dried up shaved ice all over, floors are the same as well as the glass doors and frontage, please keep this cute little place more presentable because if your frontage is filthy people will wonder how much you clean or sanitary your kitchens are, just an advice but I will be back read more
