    Steak salad with balsamic

We enjoyed our meals at O'Rorke's and even went two days in a row because it was the most convenient place with a spacious dog-friendly patio. The service was efficient, though not particularly friendly. The food was consistent and nice! The steak salad was our favorite, but the appetizers, sandwiches, and burger were good too. The fried pickles were great! The crab dip was good too, but be warned it is HUGE. If you get it as an app, I'd recommend you have several people to share it with! We also enjoyed the meatloaf sandwich, which was also quite large, a wrap, and the bbq burger. The only downside was the side of coleslaw these came with. It was easily the worst coleslaw I've ever had with large tough chunks of cabbage and it was extremely sweet. All in all, it was a nice convenient place for our group and dog!

When we dropped in to O'Rorke's on a weeknight, the place was packed. This area is absolutely a tourist hub, and so we were surprised that they grabbed us and put us in a booth really fast. This is truly an old style Irish pub with all the wood siding and wood booths to boot and very loud. There is also an outdoor patio but it was pretty cool outside for that although there were some people braving the chill. Our server was quick, friendly and efficient. For food, we started with the Irish Flag salad which was a basic salad that we split between us. Then we had the Shepherds Pie which was just ok, and the fish and chips basket with fries. The fish and chips was well prepared with two good sized breaded fish, and the fries were extra crispy which is exactly how I like them... And don't forget the Oktoberfest beer on tab when it is available. Nice that they also have live music on some nights. The couple playing were pretty good.

Fast, friendly service. Place definitely reminds me of an old Irish pub. Several were sitting at the bar. I ordered beef stew over mashed potatoes. Large portion and I couldn't finish it all. If I wasn't traveling, I would have definitely taken home to have for lunch the next day. Cole slaw kind of bland...needed to be mixed with carrots or red cabbage.

So I guess it's the crazy Irish Part of us that made us drive to Gettysburg to celebrate St.Patty's Day @ O'Rorke's! Decided to try the Corned Beef & Cabbage which was a special. The other Leprechaun ordered the Meatloaf again! There's a couple of Irish Musicians playing and the bar is full. There is outside seating but we wanted inside so we are up stairs away from the noise and crowds (great in the busy seasons) outside seating on nice days also available. I know we'll be returning again.

This Irish pub was a nice stop before our late night ghost tour. The appetizer was so large and filling. That the Entree came home for lunch. There was an Artist there who sang songs at an amazing degree. The bathrooms are hard to lock and designed for Single person yet a larger one would be appropriate for this busy venue. Ambient light really set the atmosphere. They even offer a second floor for larger groups. There is outside seating for environmental relaxation. Worth a stop in for time absorbing.

I was looking for dinner, preferaby grilled chicken, so stopped in to O'Rorke's. It was 4pm and I was seated immediately near the bar. The booths were very wide and could seat many people. The waitress arrived very quickly and took my order. The truffle parmesan chips arrived first - HOLY cow the order size was HUGE! Bring an appetite! They were delicious!! Then my side salad arrived, followed quickly by the lobster chicken. Again - you better bring your appetite as the portion sizes are monstrous! I recommend you stop in for a bite...

Great little spot for fresh Guinness and great food. We ordered Apps: the Guinness dip. Delicious Crab dip in a sourdough bowl with house chips Very good The dilly shrimp. Fried shrimp with chili tullamore dew sauce. Delish Irish beef stew. Tasty full of veggies. Meat was a bit tough. With corn fritters. Shepherds pie. Tasty. Not the type I'm doing see to. Basically a meat ragu with Guinness gravy with corn and a dollop of mashed potatoes with cheese on top. Dessert we shared a chocolate guiness ganache Cake served with vanilla ice cream

Amazing welcome from a young lady. Waitress Katie (Katy), also GM, was quick to our table to order drinks, gave us recommendations and returned a couple times because we could not make a decision on what to order from the eclectic food menu. It all sounded fabulous! We went with the pretzels, topped with crab dip and grilled cheese, which was phenomenal and plenty full, we could not eat it all. My husband chose the homemade tuna sandwich on rye with extra thick homemade chips which she enjoyed very much. I ordered the steak wrap with the beer cheese and it was phenomenal. French fries were good, but not too many of them, just right as Goldilocks would say. I had a cranberry Moscow mule which was bigger than I thought it would be and my husband had a couple Yingling. Food and drink were all phenomenal and Made our bellies. Very happy. What was our bill? What did it come to for the starter of crab pretzels, three drinks and two meals came to $65. Well, worth it with the atmosphere of a pub with familiar faces to each other having good chats. Highly recommended to stop in and have an eat or even just a drink at the bar. Outside seating is available and plentiful

It's cool to get a cheap drink or shot, see the mine cave, listen to the music, and move on with your trip. Locals and travelers alike visit this establishment. It's not fancy and smells a bit musty but the clientele and pricing are great. I've been a patron here every time I'm in town for a few years now. It's a consistent experience every time, we are repeat customers. 21+ only NO KIDS. Pro tip: bar service & paying your check can be kinda slow because the bartenders get to talking - which is a bonus if you're on the receiving end of the talking.... but they get sidetracked often. Consider backing up your drink and paying cash up front. Anyway this is the reason it's knocked down a star, can get kinda frustrating when you just want a beer, sometimes it takes a while even if they aren't busy.

Was I seeing this place through my own beer goggles for the night. Let's just get into it. When we showed up in the area we had asked about what nightlife was like in the area. With it being in the middle of a cold streak we were told about several places in town that would fit the bill to have a night out. We made the rounds in town and then found ourselves here for the remainder of the night. I think what drew us here was that it looked like a dive from the outside and allowed smoking. There weren't many people in here for a majority of the night, so we kind of got to observe this place with the regulars in it. That really allows to see how the locals are in an area. It was interesting to say the least. Once the drinks started flowing we started to feel a little more comfortable in here. We started talking to the bartender to find out what was good to do besides the typical tourist stuff in the area. She was wonderful with suggestions, telling us about other watering holes in the vicinity and even beyond Gettysburg. We had inquired about LGBT friendly places within a short car ride and were basically told to go to Harrisburg or a small town in Maryland. At that point, that's when things started to get a little weird. After outing ourselves, things got a little uneasy for us. We ended up meeting the owner's grandson. He was great and seconded the suggestions the bartender made. But when he introduced us to the locals at the end of the bar, we kind of wanted to not say much. It actually made us feel unwelcomed after a bit of sitting near them. Kind of like all eyes were on us. After a few more minutes of that, we paid our bill and made it out the door. So the thing is that it's a great bar, if you're a local. Or maybe even if it's crowded, so there are other people to focus on. We liked everything, the freedom to smoke, the pricing, the bartender, but the atmosphere changed at some point and flipped the script. Would we go back? Maybe if it was nicer weather wise out, that would allow more people to be in here.

My wife and I both had the shrimp baskets and two soft drinks for lunch. The shrimp baskets were $17 each and the soft drinks $3 each. With tax and tips the total bill came to $50. The shrimp were obviously pre-battered and frozen but they were pretty tasty. The french fries had some kind of a nice crispy coating and were excellent. The coleslaw was pretty tired. The service was cordial and quick. The decor is as I remembered very nice. There is free parking behind this restaurant, but not many people know it is there. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is because I think that the cost of the luncheon was a little more than it should've been for what we received. Had the shrimp been coated with a batter and fried from scratch (instead of being taken out of a frozen bag) I might've been able to award five stars. But... All in all this restaurant continues to hold its "very good to excellent" reputation for food and service over many years. I would die there again and I would recommend it with no reservations.
