It's cool to get a cheap drink or shot, see the mine cave, listen to the music, and move on with your trip. Locals and travelers alike visit this establishment. It's not fancy and smells a bit musty but the clientele and pricing are great. I've been a patron here every time I'm in town for a few years now. It's a consistent experience every time, we are repeat customers. 21+ only NO KIDS. Pro tip: bar service & paying your check can be kinda slow because the bartenders get to talking - which is a bonus if you're on the receiving end of the talking.... but they get sidetracked often. It was so fun walking to it and finding it as it is hidden in a motel parking lot. Great for travelers and locals alike! Reliance Mine Saloon is the crown jewel of dive bars, better than anything I've seen all over the country. They have a good atmosphere, great beer and a whiskey selection beyond words. The bartender I met for the evening was phenomenal with his service and had an excellent taste in music for the place. While it's dark as a dungeon way down in the mine, it is a place that does what it does better than anywhere else and I cannot understand why its not packed to the rafters every night. It's a place you could've seen Anthony Bourdain talking about, and it is, in my opinion, the only place one should want to do their drinking in Gettysburg. read more
