    Dirty martini
    John G.

Dropped in for a couple of drinks and a quick bite after walking around Gettysburg. Bartender was friendly and the place had an old timey feel. Celebrating my birthday so had a dirty martini and asked for extra olives.... and he came through with the extra olives. Decided to soak up the alcohol with pretzels and marinara sauce. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The pretzel was ok but the vibe and friendliness of the staff and locals made it a fun stop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Vegetarian chili

The food was excellent. I had the vegetarian chilli. Would have again. I asked without the jalapeños. Our table had the pulled pork and chicken marsala with mashed red potatoes. We had a side salad. I loved the chicken and mashed potatoes. Dessert looked fantastic but I had leftovers and no room for dessert. Our server, Sara B Goode, was excellent from start to finish. Great service and fantastic personality. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We also liked the decor and atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had a corner table by the window.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will be back. Next time I hope to split dessert.

    Grimster's Diablo

The Pub & Restaurant compensates for its lack of creativity in name with good food. The Grimster's Diablo was tasty and a butt ton of food (also great name!). I wish it was spicier, but it is Gettysburg so there aren't too many people who grew up eating as much spicy food as my people.

    Tomato bisque

The server we had was very kind, no disrespect to her. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The table smelled like a sidewalk after rain with a few dead worms lying about.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food took a long time to come out, and all six guests at our table decided the tomato bisque was WAY too sweet. Borderline dessert. We ordered the Cobb salad and it was okay, cheaped out on toppings but alright. If you want to go to a tourist restaurant with mediocre food, this is your place.

The chili. Mrs took the picture

First time here. We sat on the Bar / High Table side. Very cozy atmosphere. Beer and cocktail prices were in my opinion very reasonable. More so given the Pub's location. We started off with the Poutine which was enough for a table of four. Mrs had the Chili and I had the French onion. Both good. The chili came out screaming hot. She got a bowl and only managed to finish half of it. Nice spot

PROS: the food tasted good and the staff was very nice. There were enough places to sit and no wait for dinner believe it or not. Menu variety was good and you had the option to eat outside. CONS: the prices were a bit high on some items. Like $20 for ten wings. OVERALL: despite some items being expensive I would still recommend coming here

The food was excellent! My wife had the cheeseburger and I had the veggie hot wrap. Other than a slow wait time, the place was great.

I can't tell you how many times that medium is what I usually get when requesting medium-rare at restaurants. There's a big difference between the two in terms of internal temperature, center color, and texture. This place knows how to properly cook a medium-rare burger, and for me, that's a sign of quality and sets it apart. The sidewinder fries are fab as are the homemade potato chips and either comes with burgers. The dressing on the coleslaw needs some seasoning, but the slaw itself is fresh and crunchy. The Maryland crab soup is pretty slammin', too. I favor the back dining room, not the bar (in front). These 2 areas have different vibes. The back room feels like the way a burger joint should be. The bar is, well, more bar-ish. One of the servers, Brody, provides exceptional service--a shout out to him. This establishment's name is playful and clearly informs the customer as to what their specialty is: hamburgers. I bought one of their T-shirts, perhaps that says it all.

I should've left and found another option altogether. We both ordered burgers (of course), his a bacon cheeseburger with fries and coleslaw, mine a patty melt on rye bread with Swiss cheese, fries and coleslaw. Both medium rare. Both came out medium well, no coleslaw, one invisible slice of cheese on each burger and white bread instead of rye on my patty melt. The grilled onions actually looked more like onion jam and the trays with black/white checkered paper this is served on looks like it's never seen a sponge or water. No, I can't recommend this place.

We had been here twice before & absolutely loved it - we stopped here over Valentines Day weekend…read more(Friday Night). We had reservations, but they were so busy that we did not get acknowledged for a bit ..in fact we felt a bit like we were in the way in the long hallway with servers flying by. When we were taken to our table, we found out from our server that they were understaffed. Took a while for our drinks, apps, entrees to come, but again we've never seen the Pub this busy. Unfortunately there were several things they were out of, but we made do. I'm not sure if there is a different chef, but the steak almost seemed boiled - it was tender but just not like I remembered. I wish I had written a review previously for comparison as it would've been fantastic. I would like to return again and suspect the experience would be back to the norm... PS - as a pub where you would just want to sit in the bar area & enjoy some beverages among the crowd ..I'm sure it wasn't a bad night!

We asked questions about the menu and I got Gordon Ramsey Kitchen Nightmares vibes. The wait staff proceeded to tell us that patrons complain about the thing we were asking about, but that ONE other thing on the menu was very popular. I noted the wait staff did not say that they had tried anything on the menu, which to me meant they don't eat there. I ordered the BBQ sandwich, which had an odd flavor to it. My husband though it may be liquid smoke. My husband was acting odd all throughout dinner, and once we left he told me he thought a disabled man in the restaurant was going to come after him with a knife because he wouldn't stop staring at him with an evil scowl. All in all the experience was not a good one. We won't trust hotel staff opinions of restaurants now.
