The place is huge and its very nice and clean. It seems to be an amalgamation of an ice cream place, a pizza place, and a BBQ place. I tend to be suspicious of places that try to do too many things. That said, I had the ribs and my wife had the pulled pork sandwich. The ribs could be slightly more tender and as they came out to the table they did not have any flavor. I ordered the dry rub and tomato BBQ sauce with my ribs and those were outstanding. My wife said her sandwich was dry and needed sauce. I gave her some of mine but I'm not sure what she wouldn't get sauce with her sandwich. The service was outstanding. The service actually takes the place from 3 to 4 stars.

Food was delicious but the pulled pork sandwich needed bbq sauce on it. It was a tad dry. The potato salad was okay. Nothing special. The peach cobbler was good but was more of a peach bread pudding. The waiter was very attentive. Good ambiance. Nice selection of food.

We returned this evening. Nas, our waiter, recommended the horseradish dill sauce with the brisket. Excellent recommendation. In fact, we've been here lots and I can say Nas is among the best of the wait staff. We will certainly return. I am addicted to the Brussel sprouts. Spouse loved the Syrian Limonana drink-very refreshing but still packs a punch.

Brisket was decent but the food is horrendously overpriced. $15 for the sandwich and the fries were extra!! Will not be back.

Beef brisket was overcooked and salted for some bizarre reason. Crispy brussel sprouts would've been perfect had they not been over salted.

The drinks were good and cheap, between the 2 of us we had around 8 drinks & the tab was $25 or $30. Which is relatively good for 2 people, in my opinion. They dont serve food which is a bummer, i also didnt play pool but alot of people were. It is a tight space, so it gets crowded and loud fairly quickly.

Was I seeing this place through my own beer goggles for the night. Let's just get into it. When we showed up in the area we had asked about what nightlife was like in the area. With it being in the middle of a cold streak we were told about several places in town that would fit the bill to have a night out. We made the rounds in town and then found ourselves here for the remainder of the night. I think what drew us here was that it looked like a dive from the outside and allowed smoking. There weren't many people in here for a majority of the night, so we kind of got to observe this place with the regulars in it. That really allows to see how the locals are in an area. It was interesting to say the least. Once the drinks started flowing we started to feel a little more comfortable in here. We started talking to the bartender to find out what was good to do besides the typical tourist stuff in the area. She was wonderful with suggestions, telling us about other watering holes in the vicinity and even beyond Gettysburg. We had inquired about LGBT friendly places within a short car ride and were basically told to go to Harrisburg or a small town in Maryland. At that point, that's when things started to get a little weird. After outing ourselves, things got a little uneasy for us. We ended up meeting the owner's grandson. He was great and seconded the suggestions the bartender made. But when he introduced us to the locals at the end of the bar, we kind of wanted to not say much. It actually made us feel unwelcomed after a bit of sitting near them. Kind of like all eyes were on us. After a few more minutes of that, we paid our bill and made it out the door. So the thing is that it's a great bar, if you're a local. Or maybe even if it's crowded, so there are other people to focus on. We liked everything, the freedom to smoke, the pricing, the bartender, but the atmosphere changed at some point and flipped the script. Would we go back? Maybe if it was nicer weather wise out, that would allow more people to be in here.

She was busy so she couldn't check on us; if she had, the food may have been better. We each got sandwiches. I asked if a side salad could be substituted for a side and the answer was NO! It was weird, why couldn't I get that? I got the portobello panini. The flavor was ok, the mushroom was pretty touch but if I cut it with a knife it was okay. The BLT was specifically asked for crispy bacon and it was the floppiest, fattest bacon. My bf just pulled it off. Anyway this was not a great experience. It is done in a minimalist decor and dim tones which after spending a few hours hiking around in the sun is nicely refreshing. a lunch runs $13-$17 and i had a Reuben and a beer. I'm used to Reubens being fairly tall, this was flat but filling and the flavor was fine. Just off to one side through a door is the hotel bar which looks nice but is so ornate that it stands out awkwardly from the more spartan surroundings. The rest room is a little bit of a hike through the hotel but that was really the only issue I had. The fact it was empty in the middle of the day, with tourists all around, and literally right in the middle of town made me wonder 'what do they know that i don't?' But for my part I had a nice, relaxed lunch in a pleasantly cool and dark location. Would I go there again? Sure.

Ended up sticking with water as the one cocktail I had was clearly a mix and also seemed to have no alcohol in it. Appetizer selection was limited to seafood or onion soup. Don't like seafood? Tough luck. If you like seafood with some variation of Old Bay then you'll probably like this place. Although there are much cheaper places to eat if you just want basic northerner seasoning. The restaurant was not advertised as a seafood place otherwise I would have avoided it. I ended up ordering a steak, which came with a salad and a potato. The salad and potato was the best part. Despite ordering the steak medium rare, it was unevenly cooked and dry with a leathery exterior. I would have sent it back but I didn't want to spend another hour trying to get someone's attention to resolve it. If I ever find myself in Gettysburg again, I will be sure to eat elsewhere, this was not good value for money.

We'd spent an entire day touring the battlefield, it's a Saturday, and the town is full of tourists. No surprise we had a thirty minute wait for a table. But once inside and seated, it was clear to us that the B & G was no ordinary bar & grill. The burgers are themed for generals, both Federal and Confederate, who took part in the battle. Each burger is characterized by the general it's named for. The General Buford, for example, is served with bleu cheese crumbles and horseradish (he's a cavalry officer, get it?) and the Robert E. Lee features a slab of Virginia ham. I ordered the General George Meade. Meade was a Pennsylvanian, so naturally this burger comes with a pile of Philly cheesesteak. A carnivore's delight, to be sure. No complaints here. And if I'm ever back this way, I'm curious to try the General Longstreet: it's served with carmelized onions and peanut butter. That's gotta be good.
