Looked up places to eat on arrival to Gettysburg and my son and I were intrigued to see a Syrian restaurant. It wasn't very busy, seemed a slow night in town but the server was very friendly and helpful. (Becky I think). She even helped me out with parking given I couldn't get the meter to take my payment online. Ordered Kibbeh and the mixed platter. The Kibbeh was excellent with a lovely blend of spices. I was skeptical at first but it was really good The mixed grill was very flavorful , the kebab was our favorite, a sauce with it would have been nice. Portion size was pretty good to be shared between the two of us after a day of driving. If you are in the area and want something a little different give Jamilie a try and ask for Becky!! read more

First time here and thoroughly impressed. I enjoy trying all kinds of food and have a pretty refined palate, while the person I came with tends to be less adventurous. So, it was a great test for the menu. We shared the hummus bil lahme, cheese rolls, and mixed grill, and every dish was excellent. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. There was a garlic sauce that was served with the mixed grill that needs to be sold so I can take more home. The menu is really good at explaining the dishes. The service was outstanding as well. We had a few questions, and the staff was patient, knowledgeable, and gave great recommendations. The atmosphere had a warm, welcoming vibe that made the whole experience even better. We both left happy and will definitely be back again. If you are bored with your local options this place would be really fun to try. My dad and I called to make a reservation here before a Friday evening event at the Majestic. Very easy to locate and to park nearby in the parking garage. The place was pretty empty when we first arrived around 5:30pm but when we left nearer to 7 it was packed. Gettysburg doesn't have many restaurants like this so it's a welcome addition. Overall I enjoyed the food, and while there are some things to work out I think they will get there. The cocktails were delicious, but I would have gone for a glass of wine had it not been obscenely expensive ($15 and up for a glass). I would recommend that you get the plain hummus. For the main entrees, the chicken was excellent. I would not get the Kafka Kebab again. The main issue and why I removed a star was for the service. The place is pretty big and there were only 2 wait staff. It took over 30 minutes for us to get our check - we had finished and were just sitting there. Once this issue is worked out I think you'll have a great dining experience! read more

I really enjoyed the servers. The food was fresh and tasty. We came here and didn't want to just eat a bunch of "American" fare. We came here on a Friday night. We paid for street parking. It was fairly busy. Our server was so sweet and kind and charming. Our drinks were good. The creamy pistachio ice cream they made really lit me up. They also had a bottle of scotch that was called Ice Cream. We tried it and it ended up being $36 dollars for the glass. read more

Straight up five stars, no doubt in my mind. We had the cheese rolls as an app and they were transcendent. Honestly one of the best things I have eaten in my entire life. It was like a creamy mozzarella with a pita crust with just enough crispness. I also had the "mixed grill" and every meat was tender and perfectly seasoned, the rice was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The waiter was very attentive and the owner or manager came to check on us and answer some of our questions about the food. It was clean and quiet inside and had a traditional American bar feel. We have been here 3 times. The food is excellent. The reason I give it 3 stars is because the place is not clean. The last time we went, I noticed it was bad but we decided to try again and it was worse this time. We went at 3 in the afternoon before a movie at Majestic. There were only 2 other people in there. We first sat by the window but the window sill was so dirty that we moved to another table. We almost left but didn't have time to go anywhere else before our movie. In his words, "Leaves were tender and the filling was tasty. Overall, very satisfying." He was kind enough to share some with me. It was flavorful and wonderful. I had the Lamb Kabab and it was very filling and tasty . We had dessert called Knafeh. My dad's thoughts on the dessert are "Delight to the eyes and sweet surprise to my tongue." Food is Fabulously authentic. It's our go-to place for out of town guests. We have dined a many restaurants featuring middle eastern cuisine and Jamilie always exceeds our expectations. Service: Tony and his staff always make such a fuss over us each time we come to the restaurant. Everyone is so genuinely kind and professional. Ambience: The bar is amazing.
