We were greeted warmly by one of the staff and told to choose our seating. After a few minutes she returned for drinks and appetizer orders. My wife order a mango lassi, and we decided on the fresh palak chaat. I tasted her mango lassi and agreed with her assessment that it was delicious--very creamy and thick. Our chaat consisted of a lightly battered and fried spinach, which we found addicting. It was light and crunchy with a small dollop or two of a seasoned, sweetened yogurt. We liked the dish, but longed for a bit more yogurt to temper its natural dryness. For our entrées, my wife decided on the Baingan Masala and I opted for the vegetable biryani. It's nice that Spice offers a mild, medium or hot spice level. Indian cuisine is all about the spices and they are explained in detail on a wall poster above the buffet unit. Pretty cool. Mt wife ordered mild heat for her dish (stewed eggplant with onions, tomatoes, and spices), and I chose medium. The spiciness was right on. Both dishes were tasty, but nothing we would order again. The portion of my biryani was "gut busting", and the raita was pleasant. Spice was a nice find, and within walking distance from our hotel.

We even got to meet the owner who was working behind the bar. Ambiance is cool. They have a little shop area that you can buy local art work, soaps, and jewelry. They have a sitting area with just couches and a table. There are various board games you can play. There are different types of seating. You can sit at the bar, high top bench area, normal dining area with chairs, or sit in front of the ramen bar and watch her chef it up! The food was ok. I give this a 5 star review because my partner was obsessed with the ramen bowl and the sushi (i didn't get a picture of the sushi unfortunately). The corn dip was great. It had a lot of flavor but i will say, the portion size was off. Not happy about how little dip we got. There were tons of left over chips. The chips tasted like they were made in house. The old fashioned was great. We opted for the in house bourbon. The espresso martini was a disappointment. The size of this was very small for the price. I even asked the owner about this, and he informed me it was an illusion based on the shape of the glass. I don't believe that because i was barely buzzed. It also didn't come with a rim like stated in the drink description. The India power bowl was also a huge let down. I opted for quinoa. The butter chicken, chickpeas, and quinoa were super dry. Not very impressed. It didn't have much Indian spice flavor. Best to stick to the sushi and the ramen bowl.

Over the course of two lunches and dinner offered by Simply Vegan, I can say that Nikevia really topped the charts in terms of wonderful vegan chefs. The multi-course menus were hearty, fresh, FLAVORFUL and delicious without feeling heavy at all. I very much hope that I find the occasion to have her cater an event that I organize! Or, at the very least, that others will take this review as a serious endorsement of her cooking chops. I ordered the following items on Uber Eats: - Curry Puffs - Vegan Nuggets - Salt & Pepper Tofu - Black Pepper Ban Mein w/ Thick Noodles The portion sizes for the main dishes (Salt & Pepper Tofu and Ban Mein) were generous, about 2-3 servings and shareable. Which is pretty amazing considering the Ban Mein was $10 (on Uber Eats). I made sure to try a mix of dishes that both featured and didn't include meat substitutes...I was WOW'd by all of the food! As a meat eater, the vegan beef in the Ban Mein was very well seasoned and the flavor indiscernible from real meat. I was especially shocked by how much I enjoyed the vegan nuggets. They had a slightly nutty flavor (likely due to the oil) and a great texture. The salt & pepper tofu and curry puffs were standard, but good. Overall, the food at this restaurant runs a little spicier than usual American Chinese spots. Flavors like curry and five spice came through more, and two of the dishes I ordered used fresh peppers (instead of just pepper flakes). I loved it and will be ordering again!

Presents like a typical carry out, but I like the concept with the little convenience area and I noticed an area in the back to play games, which I thought was nice. Honestly, I forgot to post the review when we picked up dinner here some time ago. I really needed to try them again. On our first visit we had the baby bok choy, Singapore noodles, the crispy eggplant, Kung Pao and curry puffs, I believe. This time I ordered the salt & pepper tofu (10/10), the bok choy (7/10) and the crispy eggplant (9/10). Now to be very honest these dishes would have been even better if we had eaten there, because the fried items would've retained their crispiness, but everything was still good. I've been thinking about the salt & pepper tofu. May even grab it again this week. It was just that good. I definitely recommend you try this place if ever in the area... I'll be visiting again soon.

You aren't going to find black bean burgers and cauliflower wings here (not that there is anything wrong with those). Instead, you will find small plates like Cannellini and Pan (bread with white beans) and Batata Harra (spicy Lebanese potatoes). Soups like Roasted Pumpkin. Mains like Steak, roasted veggies and Polenta in gravy. Pizzas like Meat Lovers with vegan bacon, pepperoni, sausage and spicy Italian sausage. There is plenty more dishes I just named the ones we ended up ordering. My wife started with a mocktail that included coconut and was meant to taste like a Creamsicle popsicle. Incredibly, it did. I was intrigued by a number of lattes but considering it was night and I had already reached my coffee quota for the day, I abstained. After that, we ordered and received our small plates and soup. The Cannellini and Pan was incredible. I don't know how to describe the bread. It looked like pita but it didn't taste or feel like any pita I've had before. The beans were flavorful, with a hint of spice. Speaking of spice, the Batata Harra was very spicy. Good, but definitely not for someone who can't handle spice. The soup was good but didn't really blow me away like everything else. Next came our mains, Steak and Polenta and the Meat Lovers Pizza. A lot of the pizza meats and cheeses are made in house at Oleum giving this pizza a unique taste all to itself. The crust was great, the meats were good with a hint of spiciness and the cheese was not too much and flowed with the rest of the pizza. The steak was a locally made vegan steak that cut and looked like real steak (I didn't quite have the same texture as I remember actual steak). Paired with polenta, mushrooms and Brussels and topped with gravy, this dish was incredible. To end it all, I took a carrot cake to go. Also excellent. The wait staff was incredible. Two different servers and the owner stopped at our table to check on us. Oleum is not cheap. This meal, with tip, was close to $150 dollars. But the quality and taste (and amount of leftovers) made the price more palatable. Will definitely be back!

Both times, the service was impeccable at the bar, and while being formally seated. As I'm not a vegan, I do frequent vegan places in hopes of finally transitioning, so I understand flavor profiles and what to expect/not expect. The salad dressing was a bit skimpy and the croutons were extremely hard. I asked for some honey to add to the sauciness of the dressing, which in hindsight, I should have just asked for more dressing. I've had vegan ceasar salad dressing before that somehow mimicked that anchovie-taste, which is what I expected here. For the soup, I had my mouth ready for a sweet savory taste, but instead it was salty savory which altogether changed my viewpoint on how this soup can be made. I asked for chili oil to give it a little pop. Onto the breakfast burrito - a sight to see! I'm not a breakfast burrito girl, but a friend let me taste her leftovers and I thought I HAD to have my own. At first bite, I can say it was a whole YES. My only ask was more seasoning, and to have cooked the tofu down just a bit more so it didn't give the consistency of a runny egg. I asked for sriracha, chili oil and ketchup to seal the deal. I highly suggest offering at least one of these sauces/oil as a free accoutrement, instead of charging per oz. Ambiance is always warm and inviting. The dark wood gives a homelike vibe and the music is on point. I will definitely be back for the breakfast burrito in hopes of more fun sauces on the side!

The carrot/cabbage and greens were fresh and tasty. I probably wouldn't get the rice again. It was fine, but served mostly to fill me up rather than add flavor. Japanese Katsu Curry Bowl ($15.00) plus $1.00 for greens and $0.50 for extra curry sauce. My partner enjoyed this dish, but thought the curry flavor could have been stronger. Also, they probably wouldn't get the extra sauce again. Overall, good bowls. We'll be back. One disappointment is that there is no way to "build your own bowl." I asked the server, and she said you can ask to substitute an item on one of their main bowls, but there's no "create your own" option. Since you order from a kiosk, it seems that could be straightforward, with the price adjusted based on what you add in, but I guess not here. That will limit the number of times I come here, because I prefer the option for variety. Ordering vis kiosk also doesn't allow you to order the sauce "on the side," which is another unnecessary (IMHO) limitation.

I've tried a lot of things on the menu, and bottom line is I still think their Medley Loaf Combo Bowl is the best entree. I wish there was more loaf! It's so good and has a salty deep umami flavor which goes perfectly well with the shredded medley and other goodies in the bowl. However, there was a bit too much rice and carrot in my opinion this time. Still thought it was pretty good. I also ordered the Japanese Katsu Curry Bowl. I've gotten this one before too and thought it was really good, but today I found the curry a little bland, and again, the rice-to-protein ratio was way off (too much rice). Probably won't get this again and stick to the Medley Loaf Combo.
