Wifey and I were recently in Gettysburg and decided to try FourScore Beer Co. Unfortunately, we got here right after a big event in the area so the place was packed and it took us a couple trips around the neighborhood before we found a place to park. Because we were going out to dinner in a couple hours we just shared an appetizer and ordered flights. We ordered the large pretzel with pub cheese and it was really great. Pretzel seemed like it was made with fresh dough and it the buttery, saltiness just made it exactly what we wanted. I felt bad for the cooks and bartenders as the place was super busy, but it was a really fun vibe, and great service for how packed they were. The beers were great: I had the: -Incessant Luminescence (American Stout) -Portergeist -Sunglow - Hefeweizen -Jamba Blueberry Pumpkin Swirl sour Wifey had the: -Gettys Brau - Pilsner -Hop Hat - IPA -Dead Man Walking - Hazy IPA -My nickname in high school - Citrus IPA Ok, to be fair, the Jamba Blueberry Pumpkin Swirl sour was weird...it was more like a smoothie than a beer so the texture was odd, but the flavor was fun. I hate IPAs so I can't speak to them, but Wifey loved them. Overall- fun place, great vibe, very good beers and a great pretzel appetizer. Our family of 21 came in without reservations on a Saturday afternoon, were seated immediately, and had a great time! The location is prime -- just a block away from the historical Dobbin House -- so convenient. Service was friendly, but since we ordered cafeteria-style at the bar with servers delivering our meals, our large group's food came out at various times. The beer drinkers in our group loved the selection. I thought I disliked all beer, but their Spicy Mango & Watermelon sour beer tasted like a delicious mango shake -- surprisingly amazing! Food quality ranged from good to great. The massive Fish & Chips was a definite standout (5/5) -- crispy, golden perfection. It was our first time at FourScore Beer Co., in Gettysburg, PA and decided to stop for some food and drinks while we waited to also try the Dobbin House Tavern since they had a 2 hour wait time. We really enjoyed the IPA beers and a cider drink that had vodka and Apple Pie flavor. We had the following burgers: 1. Fourscore Burger 2. Bacon Jam Burger 3. Southwest Burger We also included a basket of chicken tenders for our baby. ALL of the burger meat lacked seasoning including the chicken tenders. The burger patties were also very dry. We give the food we ate a 3.8/5 stars. Because of the good service, nice ambiance and good beer, this restaurant gets a 4/5 stars. Somebody needs to let the chef know to put some seasoning on the food for crying out loud!! I still recommend stopping by maybe some of you would enjoy the food better than we did. Very nice little brewery tucked away on a side street. Nice size seating area outside for nice days. Parking is scarce, I had to park a few blocks away. Had the Mac & Cheese, fried chicken sandwich and fries. The chicken sandwich and fries were delicious. The Mac & Cheese was on the bland side but that sandwich made up for it. Had a sour beer which isn't my thing but I wanted to try something different, should have stuck with a lager or IPA. There's always next time because I will be back. Picked up a pint glass to take home, plenty of merch which is always a plus for me. All the girls behind the bar were extremely helpful and nice. read more

We are in town to play Mount St Mary's Softball and decided on stopping by here after the double header. We were not disappointed. Street parking, atmosphere is exactly what you expect from a brewery, bathrooms are funky and fresh, plenty of seating at 1 staffed bar and 1 non staffed bar plus tables. The staff was quick and courteous. We ordered 2 beers and food. Within 7 minutes food and beers were served. Amanda ordered rodeo burger, cooked perfectly with a little pink. Not messy. Fries were outstanding. I ordered the Irish stew. Very hot and good. Amanda's beer Hop Hat, she loved! I had a Soft Swerve and a Life of the Paddy(ice cream stout). And it was hot and coming out fast. The staff is amazing. I didn't think they would be able to accommodate such a large group like ours. But they did. Been coming to Gettysburg for many years, and finally checked this place out! The overall theme and ambiance was perfect for a tourists and locals brewery. The beer was tasty, even my mom who does not drink often took home a 4-pack of one of the fruited sours. The Hazys were super good too. Now for the food - while none of it was objectively "bad," it all just seemed to lack any flavor. Love this place! The beer is so interesting - you have your normal kinds but then they have these very interesting and unique sours and other kinds you can get in all difference sizes. I've had the food once and also really liked it! One of the beers they turned into an ice cream and OMG it is so good. The service is fast and everyone is nice. There is also street parking all around so that hasn't been an issue. My only complaint is that they do not allow dogs in the outside area. It has been explained why they don't, but since other nearby breweries like Appalachian Brewing a few blocks away allows them outside (who also serve beer and food)... that would make me come here even more regularly with my dog. read more

On a random gray Saturday in February, everyone at FourScore Beer is so happy - the people packed into the tables, the waitstaff, the overflow crowd along the bar. After touring the battlefields, we were drawn in by the white string lights and the pack of people in the window. We got the two last spots at the bar and ordered a Pilsner and Hop Hat, both great, and of course they made us hungry. So then we ordered the fried coconut shrimp and goat cheese balls. Large portions of bar food, sauces were very sweet though. Great place and would definitely go back! DC could use some more happy places like this! read more

We stopped by FourScore Beer Co. (an appropriate name for the area) to grab a quick sandwich while doing a quick loop in "downtown" Gettysburg. Overall, we enjoyed the food and vibe of FourScore. It seems like it's mostly a spot for locals because everyone seemed to know each other. Also, based on the "no cleats inside" sign, FourScore looks like it's the spot where the local children/teens sport teams meet after games. FourScore has counter-style ordering: you order food and drink at the end of the counter; grab a number; and someone will bring the food to your table. The restaurant/brewery has a decent mix of standard American dishes/plates, so everyone should find something that will make them happy. We went with an order of fish & chips and a Caribbean chicken sandwich and thought our dishes were pretty delicious. As one would expect, the beer company has a huge selection of various beers. I thought the pricing was reasonable. Since we were in downtown Gettysburg for a very short time, I cannot compare the prices to other local spots. Passing through Gettysburg and needed a break after touring the battlefields. You walk in and order at the bar. The place was fairly full when we arrived but we were able to snag two seats at the end of a high-top table. It feels small but they fit a good amount of tables and bar areas to find a seat inside. Warm weather would allow for much more seating outside, but it was COLD. I usually like to get a taste or two and choose one, but they don't allow that which is super annoying so I had to go off the descriptions. We ended up sharing a flight and actually enjoyed all four that we chose. We ordered the crab pretzel, which was fantastic, and a burger. The food came out in good timing. I was going to get a pint but we opted to another flight of different beers. All that we had were very well rated in our book. We got a 4 pack to-go. I wanted to get more 4-packs but I was hesitant without tasting first. They might want to reconsider that policy, as they are possibly missing a revenue stream for those passing through who can only drink so much on a quick visit and want to try more. read more

Came here with my 8-year-old son and my girlfriend and we all loved it. Not too big, not too small, just the perfect size for the perfect ambience. And the beer - wow. My girlfriend and I are total beer nerds and have been to dozens of breweries together over the years, and this one was definitely high on the list. We each tried a flight and loved what we had, so much so that we bought four packs of the Ohhhh Jeeee and the Marsh Mellow DIPA to bring home with us to South Jersey. So much beer to choose from with so many great standouts. My son had the Mac and cheese and my girlfriend had the brisket sandwich, both of which were very good. My mother grew up in Gettysburg (only .2 miles away!) so this was neither my first visit to Gettysburg nor my last. So stoked to have found a place with great beer and great ambiance that I can visit regularly in the future when I come back. read more

We were looking for a place to get a beer after a tour and we just kind of stumbled on this place. I'm so glad we stopped. It's nice on the inside. It's clean & they have TVs. It's a simple concept. Pick what you want, order it, pay and they'll bring it out to you. All we had was a pretzel but it was really good and all the food I saw them bringing other people looked bomb too. We had two flights of beer. Some we liked, some we didn't but that's why you do flights. . The service was great and everyone was friendly and laid-back. A cute, upscale bar in Gettysburg! The beer list has 14 different options and everyone seemed to have a glass on their table. I'm sad we didn't get any! We came for lunch- I had "the figgy", a sandwich with cheese, prosciutto, and fig jam. My husband had buffalo wings along with a burger. Both were great, but took awhile to be made. The kitchen also forgot to put prosciutto on my sandwich so unfortunately I had to send it back. The staff was super kind and offered to remake it. There is both indoor and outdoor seating- and a lot of both! You can seat yourself and any spot is great. Wow. FourScore has only gotten better since I first stopped in right after they opened pre-COVID. In addition to their well-maintained "industrial" interior they've added a charming outdoor patio space. FourScore is what I call "modified self serve." Drinks and food are ordered at the bar inside; food will be brought to your table. It takes a bit of getting used to but the service is friendly and excellent. The beers and food are excellent as well. As boring as it sounds, the chicken tenders and fries appetizer is my personal favorite. The tenders are made in house and are the best I've tasted. The nicely varied beer selection--all brewed on site--has something for nearly every taste. I highly recommend this Gettysburg original. read more

Drink = Meh. I mean... yes, it is beer and yes, it is drinkable. Beyond that... who knows? Ambiance = As far as trendy breweries go... this is about as cookie-cutter of a would be hipster bar as they come. Neither original nor worth repeat business. Service = Worse than the food. It was neither a slow nor a busy shift when we arrived... yet, somehow we managed to be adeptly ignored by those being paid to provide service. And.... I could do without the attitude and snark when - as a first time customer - all I'm trying to do is actively enjoy whatever products/services you are purporting to offer. If you live in the Gettysburg area, I suspect you have limited options from which to choose... so you're suffering the curse of a small town. I've been there... I get it. If you're a tourist... avoid this place as you would a street walker covered with sores who is offering you a 2-for-1 special on rusty trombones. Truly... Great place! The food is good . I had a weekday lunch of pork tacos. I had an impressive slice of German chocolate cake. It was biggest cake slice I've ever had in a restaurant. The cake was a little different from the German Chocolate cake I've had in the past. A little bit of a fudge cake, different but good. Incredible beer selection and great food. This was my first time visiting and I will definitely be back. I came with 3 friends on a Saturday at 12:30pm, there were plenty of tables at this time but by 2ish they started to get filled. There is a patio and indoor seating, with some bar seats too. The beer selection was quite impressive!! Tons of sours, IPAs, a Hefeweizen, 2 farmhouse ales, to name a few. One standout for me was the triple hazy IPA at 10%, it was so smooth, I even got some to go. The sours were incredible - thick and juicy, just how I like them! The food also was great - my friend and I split the cheese ball, brisket sandwich, and fried chicken tacos with fries. Everything was great - it was too much food for us lol! They also had tons of to go cans and bottles that weren't on draft... just check out my pictures of my take home haul ha! 5 stars from me- the only thing I would suggest is a better online experience. Their website seems totally defunct, there is no menu on Untappd, the Instagram just shows pics of beer but no actual menu. The only place I saw the menu before arriving was Facebook which I don't think is a prime social media anymore, some people don't even have one. Plus, when you get there - the menu is a QR code which is great, but it's like an e-book or something and you have to swipe to get to all the pages... it was not very user friendly. After Food 101, this is my next favorite food spot in Gettysburg. I've only been able to sample the food so far, but am hoping to dive into their IPA and sour beers next time I'm in town, as they sound incredible. This trip, the family ordered: 1. The FourScore burger and fries (which were inhaled so quickly I wasn't able to get a picture!) 2. The 403 salad - mixed lettuce, onion, corn, and roasted chickpeas - with a dill ranch dressing. You can add a protein to this and make it a filling meal, but my husband and I split it and the... 3. Wings with traditional buffalo sauce. The wings were crisp! Even though we kept them in the container and drove back to our hotel to enjoy them, which I thought was pretty impressive. We ordered dill ranch for both the salad and the wings, and realized later we should've tried multiple dressings. It was dilly enough (which is nice), but too runny for my tastes. I remember liking a lemony-type vinaigrette last time I had a salad here. There's a lot of great, well-spaced outdoor seating available (most of it covered, so you're out of the sun and heat), and a convenient outdoor order window so you don't have to keep going inside to get fresh drinks (same window is where we picked up our food for take away), and people seemed pretty respectful of social distance. The staff were friendly and also mindful of distance between patrons, which we didn't see too much of in Gettysburg, so we felt safe and comfortable, even though we were just waiting for our food. If we hadn't had to pack everything up that evening, we probably would've stayed and ate outside! Oh well, next time -- because there will DEFINITELY be a next time. read more

When my beer nerd boyfriend and I sought an afternoon beverage, our expectations were pretty low given the small confines of Gettysburg and the COVID-induced dining restrictions. He found this place and suggested giving it a shot, and it was undoubtedly a highlight of our visit the 'Burg. My first impression of FourScore was their impressive outdoor set-up. They have met the challenges of COVID with a plethora of covered outdoor seating. While the parking lot is the interim beer garden, there's plenty of street parking (to the great pleasure of their residential neighbors, I'm sure) They're logo is probably my favorite I've seen - a little hop in a top hat. An homage to beer, their name, and the great Honest Abe. They sell merch that I was pretty tempted to buy. Overall, the biggest surprise about FourScore was their lengthy, varied beer list. They had something for everyone, and it was all unique. Their Foeder beers stood out, one brewed with Rye, and one of the best dark beers I've had in a long time. So not only was there a variety of beer options, all of the ones we sampled were delicious! I would definitely come back for more. We stopped here about 3pm on the Saturday after Thanksgiving while visiting with my brother and his girlfriend. We were driving to Gettysburg after stopping at Adams County Winery and thought we would look for a brewpub. What is cooler than stopping at FourScore while in Gettysburg, PA. and what better way to market their product than by using Honest Abe Lincoln to assist. I have always been a fan of Abe Lincoln. And his Gettysburg Address holds a special place in my heart. We walked in and it was pretty busy but we found a few seats at the bar and perused the menu. Although, the food menu looked good, we decided to eat somewhere else but we did have a few beers. They have about 12 of their own beers on tap and today happened to be the release of two new flavors. I decided to have 4 - 4oz samples for $8.80. My brother chose a full glass of one of their new release beers. Jared took care of us at the bar and was a wealth of information. We learned from him that FourScore opened July 31, 2019. He also gave us a few other ideas where we should stop on our short visit. The building was beautifully renovated, the employees were friendly and knowledgeable, the drinks were yummy and the items coming out of the kitchen looked delicious.
