We had a couple of drinks here as we explored town. We liked what we had, the bar tender said they were out of their hard tea but she highly recommended it. The bartender took some time to warm up to us and just chit chat as we were the only people there. She gave us info on other breweries in the nearby area but didn't have much knowledge of other places to eat in downtown Hanover. A cool place worth checking out.

Good craft beer in a cool space. I got the Bloodbath IPA on Nitro, a creamy beer with blood orange notes. My partner had the Beach Trick Sour, that tasted of melon and cucumber. Friendly staff and nice variety of beer styles are on offer here.

Nice little brew pub. Friendly staff, great music, as we were there for Prince Happy Hour. They even put out a chaffing dish with free wings made with a sauce including one of their beers. They were very good and greatly appreciated, especially these days! They even had celery & Hidden Valley Ranch cups for dipping. The Belgian Gold Strong Ale was on point. The Pilsner and Blonde ale the same. Very good brews. I highly recommend this place for the beer. Not much if any in the way of food, but there are so many brew pubs nearby, so eat somewhere b4 or after you visit. We were on a Brew tour of the area, and this place ranked in the top two. Great job brewing guys! Keep up the good work!

Had a horrible experience at FAT BAT BREWING they had two vendors doing a pop up i know one of them and the other seemed really cool so myself and my fiancé desided to pop in my fiancé is a huge fan of there beer and was planning to grab a drink while i looked around. I was standing talking to a vendor with my sdit (service dog in training) doing a back block when someone comes up behind me and says is that a service dog. I didnt know anyone was behind me and was extremely startled causing a mild panic attack. I answered yes calmly assuming it was either an employee or possibly just a customer wondering. (He was vest and marked as a service dog but I get people are worried about fakes.) She then asks again is it a service dog or an ESA (emotional support animal) to which i said a service dog. Now I was starting to get frustrated as it was clear where this was heading as well as my panic attack was getting worse which was making it hard to talk. The women was very close to me which wasn't helping. She then asked what does he do I said he is a psychiatric service dog. She then continues to ask what does he do tho I was struggling to answer in the state I was in and just kept say he was a psychiatric service dog. Before finally saying I'm haveing a panic attack. She then tried to use this against me saying how my dog was not alerting to it. I said he's not trained to alert to panic attacks. There was some back and forth me reciting the laws and saying she could call the cops to if she felt necessary that I know my rights and I would speak to them and we could get it sorted out. How PA does infact allow service dogs in training. Her trying to say that me allowing someone to pet him means he's not a service dog (not true thats a handlers choice) and her walking away before me walking out side to try and get fresh air and my boy to do dpt (deep pressure therapy) and him doing a blocking task keeping both my friend and fiancé from being to close till i calmed down enough. I went back in because I wanted this sorted out my friend tried to tell her that I wanted to speak with her to which she angrily said about how she already spoke to me. She did come down a few minutes later to question me again once again very close to me and in a very angry manner and sent me back into a panic attack I did during this list off three tasks (tho legally only required to list one) I was struggling to speak say he does side and back blocks and dpt when instructed as examples of some of his tasks. I said this to her twice my fiancé seeing how bad my panic attack was getting as it was very obvious I was panting, struggling to keep any eye contact at all and barely able to get my words out said about how he's one of the things hes for is ptsd hopeing it would get the women to back up or something it did nothing she asked me for his papers to which i asked if she even knew ada law (there is no legal papers or certification for a service dog in United States) I offered to call our trainer Katrina Bulgrien (not something i legally have to do as a service dog is not required to be trained by a perfessional trainer mine is both owner trained and perfessional) or for her to call the police because i know my rights and she can not legally kick me out for haveing my service dog. she wouldn't allow either say she knew a real service dog and mine wasn't one. Walking up steps saying this won't be happening again. Through this whole thing my boy laid or stood beside me not causing any issues he never had gotten into anything and didn't do anything that would have given her legal right to kick us out he was completely behaved and controlled not getting into anything ect. we are mainly just working on ignoring distractions completely at this point. I did end up leaving not long after after makeing a hat from the vendor im not friends with. The vendor was super sweet and even added in a free chain and saying she was sorry i had to go through all that. she was so helpful, kind and just very calming as where all her people with her! And for those wonder who the women was turns out it was infact the owner she never told me who she was i didn't know till after the fact when my friends who where vending told me. I informed our trainer who wrote a review to the business and the owner refuses to admit any wrong in this situation. Photo below of review response and of my boy we had been out hiking so helpful was in his more outdoor friendly gear even tho legally I'm not required to vest my service dog I often do to help with public access issues and to help minimize the people trying to distract him.

Love supporting a female owned, family run business. Lots of attention to detail was put into the ambiance and the beers (including the artwork which the brewer does for each beer). Great staff and local spot. Oh and they have seltzer drinks (made in house) for a gluten free option!

I wanted to try a new brew pub on a Sunday night, so we headed into downtown Hanover to try Fat Bat.

We sat upstairs in the brewpub area. We would have preferred a regular table, but it seemed like they really wanted to seat us at a high-top. I didn't feel like pushing back, so we took it. I assumed maybe they were trying to keep the four-top regular tables open, but by the time we left, the high-tops were full and the regular tables were still empty. Maybe there was a reason for it, but it made the seating feel a little odd. For food, I split the meatball appetizer and the tarragon chicken salad sandwich with another person. Both were good. The meatballs were golf-ball sized and served in a small skillet of marinara with two slices of bread. No complaints on taste or quality. The sandwich was also solid and about what I expected from the menu. That said, the pricing felt a little high for what we got. The sandwich was $14 and did not include a side, and the four-meatball appetizer was also $14. Again, the food was good, but it was definitely on the pricier side. I also had the cream ale and the blonde ale. I don't remember the exact prices, but they seemed in line with the styles and I enjoyed both. My biggest complaint was the 3.99% credit card surcharge. That seems steep, especially at a restaurant where lunch can already add up quickly and most people probably aren't carrying enough cash to cover a full meal. To their credit, there was ample signage about the surcharge, so it was not a surprise at checkout. Still, at this price point, adding nearly 4% for using a card left a bad impression. Without the surcharge, this probably would have been a 4-star experience for me. The food and beer were good, and I did not have any real complaint about the quality. But the surcharge, combined with the slightly odd seating experience and higher prices, brings the overall visit down to 3 stars. Overall, I'd consider going back, but the seating experience and credit card surcharge would make me think twice.

I opted for the barbacoa tacos which were very good. The meat was cooked nicely, the sauce was flavorful, and the addition of the pickled onion was perfect. Staff were excellent and took great care of us. We also enjoyed having a couple of TVs to keep up with the games going on--but also liked that TVs weren't the main focus of the space. She Said: We arrived at GearHouse after having a couple of beers at another Chambersburg establishment, and I'm so glad we opted to have our dinner here. First, after a day of disappointing beers during our travels, the IPA I had at GearHouse was terrific. Though they were out of cheesesteaks by the time we arrived, the pretzel that we shared was one of the better brewery pretzels we've had. I decided to have the Korean chicken bites appetizer for my main dish, and they were the perfect texture, just the right amount of spiciness for me, and excellent chicken flavor. I hope we come through this town again soon so we can experience more of GearHouse's beer and food. Potty Points: 4/5 potty points. No wait and clean--impressive especially when considering it was a busy Saturday night.
