Visited Liquid Hero Brewing Company on a beer tour. I was immediately taken with the look and feel of the venue. It's a dark bar, but has a gentleman's club vibe going on that juxtaposes nicely with the high tech tanks and brewing equipment. The lone bartender was nice enough, but there were a lot of us so he efficiently dealt beers and took payments without much interaction. While there were A LOT of beers to choose from, most were around 6% and tended toward IPAs and lighter beers (as far as I could tell. The beer list was pretty small and I wasn't wearing my glasses). The beer snob in me ordered 16oz of the highest ABV IPA. It was just ok. I think this place would be cool to hang out in during summer months but the beers leave something to be desired. Driving through York, we stopped for a pit-stop beer, selecting Liquid Hero for their vast beer variety. Located on the other side of the tracks, a seemingly hole in the wall spot- easy parking (small lot or street parking)- inside was quaint, cozy, with a super friendly bartender (very local bar vibe) intrigued by their vast beer variety, we opted for a flight (8- 4oz beers $20)- while I really liked the ambiance, unfortunately I didn't really like the beer-the IPAs all rated very low for me- often tasting flat, syrupy, or just plain average- my favorite brew was the Coffee Beans Stout- roasty, deep dark- would have bought a 6-pack, only beer I really enjoyed- overall, while I wasn't in love with the beer, it was still a nice visit, I highly recommend for the small town ambiance (everyone's beers taste is different) read more

Liquid Hero has recently moved into a new location that has a kitchen. I have always loved their beer as it has been my favorite in the York area. I had to try their food. I was blown away! Especially with the French Onion Rings and the Popper Burger. They also had new cocktails which my wife and I tried. The Watermelon Crush was amazing and tasted like a watermelon Jolly Rancher. The service was great. 2 bartenders on staff and they were both very attentive to the crowd they had. Their style of service is to order all food and drinks at the bar and they will give you a number and then deliver your food to you. It was a good vibe filled with the same "Cheers" bar mentality. Just 3 minor changes I would make: 1. Need to put blinds on the windows in the left hand corner where they have 2 six person tables, but it was great that they put them everywhere else. 2. Need a better was to display their beer choices. Maybe a barcode and the table that links to their current tap menu. (they currently have the menu on 2 TVs but i find them awkward to look at while sitting down at the tables are bar without standing up.) 3. When busy, they need to find a way to tone down the echo and overall loudness of the area. Overall I will be back a million times and am so happy they now have food and that it is amazing. The first Brewery I was ever at way back in the day. Still one of my favorites to grab a beer or two. If I'm not mistaken one of the first in York, PA if not the first. Pregamed here with my brother before my bachelor party, turns out my relationship with this place was stronger than my marriage. Anyway, great place to stop for a few before catching a York Revolution game across the street. They don't have a kitchen but they do team up with food trucks at times in the parking lot. Awesome little brewery I found on Yelp while visiting York, PA! There was a small seating area overall, but the tables were spaced out nicely. They a bar section, a few high top tables, and hen a few standard tables to choose from. The lighting was almost a bit dim compared to the light outside, which set a relaxed mood. The music was chill and made me want to stay and hang out all day. The bartender was super friendly and it seemed like a lot of locals were there to talk with him. They had 11 beers on tap and there was a flight where you could try each of them! It's perfect for a few people to sample and see what their favorite is. I enjoyed their IPA, and the Strawberry Wheat beer was also very tasty! They had a lot of strong, dark porters which were good, but I could not finish an entire pint of them. If you're into rich flavors, these beers are definitely for you. They also had a few options for snacks, like sausage and chips and stuff, just incase you got hungry. It seemed as though a few people also brought their own food. I was happy to see Liquid Hero was open when I was in town for a York Revolution game back in May. I was unaware that they were just across the street from each other which made it all the more convenient. The sampling room was like a nice little bar where you could sample whatever they had to offer for a few dollars each. I picked a few that sounded tasty and enjoyed them for the most part. The bartender was very attentive and helpful despite the fact that she was initially alone and the room was filling up fast. This is clearly a favorite for many locals. Always a good sign. Random note: Great bathroom! Clean, spacious...entertaining posters. I also got free stickers from the bartender! Liquid Hero's story is simple, three friends who started home brewing, and decided to take it full scale. Josh, Matt and Christian are all passionate about their craft, and it shows. They are all very friendly and are like proud parents, eager to show you around the brewery amd explain the art behind the scenes to those who may not know how brewing actually works. This was my first time visiting York (for a work-related trip) so my colleagues and I had been searching for options for local places to try after meetings. Liquid Hero was one of the highlights of our trip. I tried their Session IPA and Hefeweizen, both great. It was good to see that draft beers are served as pints or smaller goblets--so you can try more beers in less time, if the Pint size is too large. Although Liquid Hero doesn't serve dinner, we ordered delicious pizza from a restaurant next door. Parking was easy in a dedicated side lot. A quickly expanding little brewery and for good reason. Started by a group of solid dudes home brewing out if their garage with a turkey fryer this brewery brings a lot to the table. The ambiance of the place harkens back to it's humble beginnings, with an internal barn style building, layed back bar area, comfortable table setup, righteous decor and mix of professional grade and home made equipment, this place made me feel like I was chilling with my buddies at home, drinking beer like a king from my garage kingdom. The beer was obviously made by appreciators of the brewing art yet provided a drink to suit all tastes (from a well balanced slap you in the face What the Floc, Double IPA to their Schweet Ale, a light strawberry wheat that tasted like a mixed drink if real man beer is not your thing. I would also like to compliment on their Hero Weiss and White Rose Lager, both very solid.) Although not big enough yet to host their own on-site kitchen, Liquid Hero has a prompt and tasty connection with the local Stadium Grill that quite adequately serves the purpose. All in all, solid brewery, great atmosphere, passionate owners, and good order in food. My husband and I made this our 1st stop in York on a weekend getaway and have both been back with friends since. First, let me just say that the staff here rocks. They've recommended us to some great hole in the wall restaurants in the area, as well just been flat out entertaining as all get out while we're at LH. Second, the location. The location is great, right on the other side of the tracks by the ballpark, perfect for a pregame drink. The parking is another story. If you're lucky enough to get a spot in their small lot, congrats! Keep it as long as you're allowed! Otherwise, street parking is available in the area. The tasting room itself is rather small. But even on a game day we were able to get in and grab seats at the bar. The beer is great. Standouts for me were their Schweet (and I'm not usually a wheat fan), their Mix, their Adam's Stout, and their Shirtless Dictator (Russian Imperial). We try and take cans of the Adam's and Schweet home whenever were in town. I really like this place and will always recommend it if you're travelling to the area. Also if you're a fan of The Mix and the Adam's, try a mix of the Adam's and the Schweet. It's like strawberry cream soda. read more

The flavor profiles the Liquid Hero team have been able to establish are super impressive here. At for glance when arriving at the LHB you see a very unique red brick building with tons of character. They have private parking as well. As you enter the pub your greeted with the fresh notes of hops in the air. The atmosphere embraces your senses and prepares your pallet for a fine craft creation. The high ceilings, dark wood beams and open floor plan captivate your full attention as you walk closer to the pub bar. There are always plenty of choices on tap. I highly recommend the Irregardless IPA or the Imperial Stout. Unforgettable! My fiancée always enjoys the "Mix". A special blend of half Schweet Ale and half HeroWeizen. The flavors are well organized offering you a light wheat beer flavor with a subtle hint of strawberry. LHB also offers live entertainment on most Saturday evenings however you may want to call or check the website to confirm. These guys also do a lot for charity and know how to give back to the community. If your visiting York or Lancaster you may bump into a cold tap of a fine Liquid Hero beer at some of the local watering holes and tap houses. They also do their own canning and bottling for a take home treat. Or you may want to purchase a branded growler right at the pub. Took a little "road trip" out through the country to check out Liquid Hero - my husband is CRAZY about the Adam's Stout (vanilla bean stout). The brewery is tiny but has ample seating to taste-test and enjoy. We shared a full flight (which included about 12 beers) and enjoyed every single one to the last drop! At the moment this is my bf's favorite craft brewery of all. It's located right across the street from York Revolution stadium and has a small parking lot. The beers are well-done. We were in York, Pa for a show and were looking something to do at night. We went to a Liquid Hero for the beer, bacon gnawjaw and the pretzel. Sadly due to the anniversary of the death of two firefighters they were out of the food choices but the beer and the bartenders did not disappoint! We had a flight of 10 beers for $20, talked with some locals and had a great time interacting with the bartenders! We left with a 6 pack of the stand out beer.
