Raney Cellars Brewing Company is a new craft microbrewery nestled in Millersville, PA that opened in September 2019. I came at the recommendation of someone I know based off my interest in the newly appearing Sour New England IPA style. I was told this brewery produced a very nice version so I had to check it out. They offer 10 taps, one of which is a guest tap by Levengood's (a local cidery). I learned that having a guest tap is not something that they will always feature, rather something that will be offered from time to time. I had two beers today and sampled a third. First, the Sour Haze Craze (4.9% abv). This beer is a Sour New England IPA that was made in collaboration with Mad Chef, another brewpub. This beer was refreshing and pleasantly sour. The sour notes are more prominent than IPA however I feel I could easily throw back several of these with how drinkable it is. Very interesting style. I also had Dankity Do-Da #4 (6.6% abv), a Guava New England IPA. This was also delicious and the guava came through on the finish. Lastly, I sampled the Raspberry Fresh Sesh (4.9% abv). This us a variation of their Fresh Sesh session IPA with raspberries added. The aroma of fresh raspberries was strong and the flavor toned down the raspberries but still allowed them to be present in a balanced way. All three beers were brewed very well and I look forward to returning and trying future brews. They recently started a barrel aging program. Inside there is a self-serve popcorn and water station. Food is not served here however patrons are welcome to bring in food. From time to time they will have a guest food truck in the lot serving food. I had a chance to meet the brewers/owners, Sean and Sarah, who were very friendly and showed me the production area. The place is clean and running smoothly. Service was prompt, friendly and attentive. I look forward to returning and seeing what other creations are brewed in the future.

Finally made it back to Spring House...on a Saturday for early dinner…read more Used the dog porch on the right side. Service at the window was great. I see that Seven Gates Pale Ale made the year-round menu, very cool. I'm NA these days so I passed (sigh) but very glad to see this flagship beer in its rightful place. Two Butcher Platters were ordered. Well done! Everything on the platter was excellent. Brisket nicely sliced, not shredded. Two Smashburgers were ordered. Excellent flavor and two patties were very fulfilling. Well done. I'll add, get the sweet potato tots, amazing! I had chips as a side and they were also hard to beat. The doggie chicken was awesome...for the dog... Thanks Spring House, keep up the great work!

I wish I had his name but the guy who took care of us the entire time was fantastic! He greeted us promptly, explained the process of ordering at the window and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. I started with a 10 oz of their hazy IPA. I then had the pickle cheese curds which came with a dill ranch and the boneless old bay wings. My pup got the burger patty off the doggie menu and by the pictures you can tell he enjoyed it =) All of the food and beer was delicious. The process for ordering through the window is super easy. In an effort to keep the dogs safe, all of the plates, utensils and cups are plastic or another safe material when dining on the doggie deck. Overall, Reaper and I had a great experience. The bartender will remember Reaper so please let him know we said thank you for the great service last week!!

Stopped in to Mad Chef unexpectedly while traveling through Lancaster…read more My wife and I were hungry and tired from traveling through Pennsylvania. Thankfully Mad Chef was open later than most places so we got in before the kitchen closed. I enjoyed the low lighting with the brewery equipment shining in the background. Having the Phillies game on the tv's only added to our experience. Our drinks and food were excellent. I always like to enjoy a local craft beer, having it paired on site with fabulous eats is even better. I ordered Mr Dynamite Brown, their American brown ale which was fabulous. We ordered a small Pommes Frites (French fries) that were cooked in Canola oil. While light in color, these fries were cooked to perfection. Crispy outside, fluffy inside, salted just right. My wife ordered the pretzel and said it was her type, buttery, salty, and doughy. I ordered the Korean Pork Nachos, by far the best nachos I've ever had the pleasure to devour. I can't begin to describe how well the roasted corn poblano medley brought this plate together. Every bite had an explosion of flavor with the Korean glaze and Gochujang aioli. This dish blows Guy Fieri's trash can Brisket nachos out of the water. If ever in Lancaster don't pass up on the Mad Chef Craft Brewing gem.

This was my 2nd time coming to Mad Chef!…read more The first time I came here was about 2 years ago (before doing yelp reviews). I was not very impressed. This time around I cannot complain! Their specials are all revolving around the Masters which was unique! We tried the Pimento, Fried Green Tomato, Chicken Sandwich (The Pimento Birdie). This was a delicious sandwich that just screams Georgia! We also tried the Madfather Chicken Sandwich! Pesto, Vodka Sauce, Mozzarella, this thing was outstanding! The fries are always a highlight here! We got the bucket (had a bigger group) and it came with 3 sauces. 1 tiny little knock on the fry bucket....the entire bucket was not filled with fries. The bottom of the fry bucket had about an inch or 2 of crinkled up paper..... All of the food was outstanding. The beer was good. Tons of space and seating. Very easy ordering process. Go up to the counter, tell them your table number, and your food arrives shortly! Prices are high here! Expect a larger number on your check if consuming both food and alcohol!
