Finally made it back to Spring House...on a Saturday for early dinner. Used the dog porch on the right side. Service at the window was great. I see that Seven Gates Pale Ale made the year-round menu, very cool. I'm NA these days so I passed (sigh) but very glad to see this flagship beer in its rightful place. Two Butcher Platters were ordered. Well done! Everything on the platter was excellent. Brisket nicely sliced, not shredded. Two Smashburgers were ordered. Excellent flavor and two patties were very fulfilling. Well done. I'll add, get the sweet potato tots, amazing! I had chips as a side and they were also hard to beat. My dog and I stopped in on 3/25/2026 for lunch on the doggie deck. I first went in to use the restroom and let them know I would be sitting outside. I wish I had his name but the guy who took care of us the entire time was fantastic! He greeted us promptly, explained the process of ordering at the window and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. I started with a 10 oz of their hazy IPA. I then had the pickle cheese curds which came with a dill ranch and the boneless old bay wings. My pup got the burger patty off the doggie menu and by the pictures you can tell he enjoyed it =) All of the food and beer was delicious. The process for ordering through the window is super easy. In an effort to keep the dogs safe, all of the plates, utensils and cups are plastic or another safe material when dining on the doggie deck. Overall, Reaper and I had a great experience. On a recent visit home, I opted to take the train to Lancaster and with a full day ahead I planned some brewery stops with my dad. The first was Spring House Brewing for lunch. I had been to this one in downtown Lancaster when it was new and tiny years ago, and it was great to see how much they've expanded and grown. Their many beer awards are proudly displayed inside. It's also a safe place for everyone, which is appreciated. This was an old metal works building, and I love the way they've made it their own. Brick with high ceilings and exposed metal, it's so cozy for being open. The brewing area is behind the bar, beer menus displayed, and a full food menu. They have big and small tables, plus bar seating. The coolest area though is upstairs with arcade games, pool, shuffleboard, and air hockey. It's easy to bring your drinks up here, but also at busier times they have an upstairs bar. We had a pizza and I got a couple flights of their beers to try. They were all excellent, and the pizza was one of the favorites I've had in many years, and I'm not just saying that. Prices are reasonable for the quality. They also have a fridge filled with super fresh to-go beers so I chose a DIPA for an upcoming share that ended up being a favorite of that event. If you're a beer fan in Lancaster, this is a must visit spot. read more

We ordered a side of fries and boneless wings (very fresh). The staff were wonderful and attentive. We had conversation with the bartender and even other guests, as we are part of the ale trail. This was the first brewery to pop up on a recent Google search to Lancaster. We were at Eden Resort & Dutch Wonderland for the day; just wanted a quick bite & found this place. Funny thing ... we passed 3 breweries on the way to this place. Some of the reviews were downright rough! Inattentive or uncaring staff, subpar food & burnt pizza! That WAS NOT our experience! Staff was super attentive; seemed like 2 female waitresses had all the tables inside & outside. It was a Saturday around 630pm. Host was a young man with dreads; very nice! The waitresses were kind, smiled when greeting us & super knowledgeable about the menu, both good & beer. Looked like the chef was running all the food. We ordered a special tequila drink (it was good enough my wife ordered two) and I had a sour ale that had hints of cucumber. Apparently it was an award winner somewhere. It was perfect for a hot, muggy late July meal. Ordered a #3 pizza, 6 bone in wings Thai chili style & the Mac & Cheese for my 2 year old as well as the pretzel for my 5 year old. The 3 different sauces (spicy mustard, honey mustard & a hot cheese sauce) were inspired and tasty. Pizza was cooked perfectly for my liking with an obvious char on the crust. Wings were above average & sauce was "a little spicy" but super flavorful. Arcade upstairs had all my favorites from the 1980's including "Tapper", a KISS pinball, "Spyhunter" and even "Zoltar" ... Tom Hanks would have been proud! I thought the place was super cool. A staff that cares & they were happy we came in. We dined here with a party of four on 12/22/2024 at about 5:30PM (The first time for me and one other; however, countless times for the other two) Our server was Kayla, and she was a charm. She is so very polite, funny, timely, efficient and just makes her an awesome person to be in this type of job. The facility is pretty cool. I am told it is an old tobacco warehouse. It is open downstairs, with some seating outside on the patio. It is also has some seating upstairs, including some games. I started with the Captain Prick drink, which was delicious and had a good spice to it. I was tempted to get an adult slushie as my number two drink; however, it was like 15 degrees outside, so I passed for today. The table shared the pickle cheese curds and the sweet potato fries. They were both really delicious. I would love to see cheese curds with other flavor around; however, really I have only seen them here. Our party of four shared two pizzas. We shared number 3 and number 5. The number 3 was the best. It had bacon, pepperoni and a hot honey drizzle with a red sauce. It was so delicious! The number 5 was also good and included garlic, prosciutto, caramelized onion and a few other things (I'm forgetting right now). But, it was also good. I can't say enough wonderful things about Spring House! The day of my rehearsal dinner for my wedding, our original restaurant canceled on us an hour before. We called Spring House in a panic and they immediately jumped into action to help! We arrived to find a beautiful set up and even a personalized sign to help us feel celebrated! Being St. Patrick's weekend, they did play Iriah music but that was the extent of it. Didn't see any Irish specials on the menu. We were seated outside in front if the restaurant. Our server seemed very disinterested and disengaged. We ordered pizza, loaded nachos and chicken tenders. Pizza came burnt on the edges and soggy in the middle. What a fun place! The food and beer were fabulous, with an impressive selection of brews to satisfy just about any palate. The kids were happy, too, with a gorgeous and tasty pizza, not to mention the cool, retro arcade upstairs and the free popcorn machine. (They probably had the most fun playing on the pinball machine, air hockey and foosball-style hockey game, which is quite a feat for our little "screen-agers.") So much to say about this place! It has been on our list for a few years now and we finally made it. We dropped in for the arcade games and ended up staying for some snacks. The beer was awesome! I highly recommend the Commander Salamander! Our server was Katie Y and she was so nice and very patient with our little and their indecisiveness. They were brewing as we came on a Monday and l was afraid we would be in the way and treated as such...however, that was not the case. Several employees lead us around and showed us where to go and were super friendly. Plus the graffiti style art work and old building vibes are awesome. Turns out it is an old tobacco factory. I don't get the good reviews for this place. We went to this place for dinner. It was a nice spring evening and we decided to get a table on their patio outside. From the moment we sat here, it felt like we were an inconvenience. The server was disinterested and disengaged, did not smile even once and had an "I don't care" attitude. High chairs for kid did not have straps making it a safety hazard. We got the pizza (burnt), cheesesteak nachos (beef did not even have salt forget any other seasoning and smelt stale) and chicken tenders (extra fried). I was here recently meeting up with family for a celebratory lunch. Everywhere we called was full and Spring House was not, so we headed there. We always make an effort to be particularly friendly and gracious to servers and restaurant workers because we know others can be tough or inconsiderate- which was why the vibes from the staff here were a bit confounding. Both our server and the other person who worked our table weren't very friendly, never smiled or offered any glimpse of welcome to our party, so that was a bit uncomfortable. As far as the food it was fine. It was greasy but fine. However, I ordered bao buns w. Pork belly and as you can see from the photos it was definitely like a cracker with the smallest bite of pork belly imaginable. I did not care for it, especially at $17. You only get one bite of the meat and the whole thing is this overly greasy panini like bread / cracker. Not what most would expect for this order. I also asked the person taking care of our table for recommendations for one of their beers that would be comparable to yuengling or Stella since I'm not too up on ipas or what was on tap there and she did not have any recommendations. I would hope that at a brewing company they would have more insight and suggestions for honest, curious patrons. She just waited until I picked one. I would give a negative one if it was an option. Food was marginal, beer was ok. Our largest complaint is that they claim to be 'dog friendly', and if they mean you have a place to sit with your dog, that is technically true. However, the tables were located much closer to the dumpster than the door. We had to ring a doorbell at a window to place our order, and then we were called when it was ready. The table was dirty upon arrival, and when we requested that it be cleaned they handed MY FATHER a towel to clean it with. That really drove the nail in the coffin. No one could take 5 minutes to ensure a clean a table? Not an experience that we would want to repeat. If you claim to be dog friendly, be honest and up front about what that means so owners can determine if it is someplace they really want to bring their dogs. read more

Stopped in this afternoon with my daughter. We started by playing games up in Hell's Attic. The name fits because it's extremely hot with no air up there. Except for the heat it's got a nice handful of games to play, a pool table, air hockey table and a couple corn hole boards. After we were done we headed downstairs to eat. We split a pizza which tasted good and cooked decent. My only complaint is they put the pizza on a plate that dips down in the middle so most of the cheese slides down to the center. So when you grab a slice off the plate all the cheese slides right off. My daughter got a Shirley Temple and I tried a Daily Planet beer, beer was very good. My daughter was given a refill on her drink without asking which was perfectly fine, that should happen when you get a soda at an eatery but we were charged extra for it. Tons of merch for sale which all breweries should have. Picked up a pint glass to add to the collection. A nice dog friendly patio out front. I had my child with me who needed a booster seat and we had to wait for 10-15 mins for one. We had to ask 3 different people before one even showed up! I specifically asked for a water as personally I didn't want to drink and there was a hair in my water. I'm a female with light brown hair... this was a BLACK hair! We didn't even stick around because of the awful service we were provided for the 30 mins we were there and we didn't even order any food. Writing this as I sit at the table: We waited 40 minutes for a table and another 40 minutes for food. Bar food. We were met with soggy pizza crust and no pickles on my burger as asked. Our hostess did not offer to put us on the waitlist, I had to ask her "how long is the wait" and she gave me a number that was clearly off the top of her head. Additionally they were out of dough and it was a fiasco to get our entrees. We used Spring House Brewing Co. for a hangout spot for some of our out-of-town wedding guests the Friday before our wedding back at the end of October. It was such a fun and casual spot to grab a drink, catch up, and play any number of their retro arcade games. Even when I called to explain we would have a larger group coming, they were so kind on the phone to try and accommodate. They allowed us to reserve some tables on their 2nd floor (which was such a cool space!), which had a separate bar, as well as someone coming around to take food orders. It had a great amount of space to spread out if anyone wanted to play games or mingle at a table and catch up. We had a 50th birthday party of about 45 people in the Hell's Attic of the Spring House. Easiest planning ever. We worked with Veronica who answered all of our questions and made us feel at ease. There are a few options of food packages you can choose from. We chose the BBQ option (smoked meats, southern green beans, cornbread casserole, mac and cheese and salad) along with a beautiful charcuterie board. All of our guests had a great time. My husband and I travel for beer. With that said we were in the area of Lancaster and hit up a couple breweries including Spring House. The building was absolutely adorable on the outside, and inside. The old building features showed through, and the brewing tanks were visible enough to make it aesthetically pleasing. Upstairs (which I didn't go to), had an arcade area which is nice for family friendly fun! We didn't eat but did get a flight of 12 beers. Of the 12 beers we liked a total of 2 between us. I felt like I was eating the Harry Potter bamboozled jelly beans. One beer had notes of Irish spring soap, while another beer had notes of fresh cut grass. The seasonal fall beers (pumpkin, gingerbread, etc) tasted more like perfume than a seasonal beer. I was so disappointed because the beer menu was solid! Moving on, I had to use the restroom.. it was pitch black with a strobe light which is cool... unless you have a customer with epilepsy. Yes, it's Halloween time and I'm all about fun decor but it was SUPER dark and it could be dangerous for anyone with epilepsy. My wife and I went there to purchase the Philly Eagles Beer for our kids and decided to eat there at 5 pm Friday 1-31-25. What a great choice. We were quickly seated and and our server was Kayla, a very friendly young lady who made us feel at home. She was highly professional, took our order a sandwich for my wife and Fish N Chips for me both top notch. We also ordered a Pepperoni Pizza to go and that was superb especially the crust. Kayla took good care of us and didn't hover over us or avoid us like some servers sometimes do. She helped us out with our beer, 10 4-packs in the rain. This was a cool old building that has been rehabbed into a brewery and taproom. Great interior, all the exposed old wood beams and such. I walked in to find only a few people in the large taproom. I sat at the bar and waited and waited, then a little more to be served. I had selected a beer I thought I might like and ordered it. When in Lancaster last weekend, my husband and I met up with a few friends at Spring House Brewing Company. The brewery has a large patio and there were plenty of tables spread out. The food menu was pretty limited but everyone was able to find something for lunch. The beer menu consisted mostly of IPAs and stouts. I tried a pineapple IPA and also a peach one and preferred the pineapple. They also have a bar stocked with PA spirits and wines. My husband and I shared the smoked wings, half buffalo and half korean bbq, ordered well done. The wings were bomb! Highly recommended if you dig wings. I also had the pulled pork sandwich with a side of bbq sauce. The pork was tender and smoky. My husband had a burger which he said was pretty basic but it was what he was in the mood for at the time. We ended up spending nearly four hours just relaxing over our food and drinks. Life almost felt normal again! I'd be happy to spend another day at Spring House next time I'm in Lancaster. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. This brewery meant a lot to my husband and I as it had a pumpkin beer that started everything with us. If it wasn't for this beer my husband and I wouldn't have met and it just means a lot. Anyways. We had an event in Harrisburg with our dogs and it was a halfway point on our way home from dock diving and my sister and her husband decided to come and meet up with us there. We arrived, my sister and husband were already sitting on your patio and I set up my dogs on their mats. My husband and sister went to go order beers at the window and about 5 mins later another family came up on the patio with their dog. They went up to the table right behind us. The tables were right next to each other so we moved the dogs and moved the table over to create some more space. Their dog kept coming over to our table and the guy holding the leash was letting it. I asked him to keep his dog away from our table and my dogs. He immediately starts yelling at me. Telling me it's a public space and his dog can do what it wants. I asked him again, no I don't want your dog near my table or my dogs. He continues to scream at me and my sister who just came back to the table. Starts name calling us and telling us we are racist against his dog and keeps calling us "fucking retards." My husband and my brother in law ask him to stop and he won't. My sister goes to ask for a manager. The manager comes out and says I'm sorry but there's nothing I can do. This guy and his wife go on about how we are racist against the breed of their dog and we shouldn't take our dogs out if we don't want to socialize them. And I was like so it's ok for his dog to come up to our table and for him to call us names, and she goes what do you want me to do about it. Of course the family is acting calm now and keeps going on to the manager stating we were racist against their dog. Again, those words were never said, not once. All I asked for was some space and for this guy to keep his dog away from our table and my dogs. The guy keeps going on about how it's a public space and his dog can do what it wants. That if we don't want our dogs interacting we shouldn't take them out in public. I said we are leaving and she goes what can do to make the situation better and I was like well clearly it's ok for your establishment to have customers to berate and name call so nothing. She said she would move us, so why should we have had to move after being called names and screamed at? I said ok to the front patio and she goes no, dogs aren't allowed there. I said so where then and she goes I can figure something out. At this point I just want to leave. This guy and his wife are still going on. My husband and I got the dogs in the car and I went back up with him to pay for our tab of beers we didn't drink or touch. The manager comes up to us and goes what more was I supposed to do. And I was like tell them to leave? They were screaming at us but apparently that's ok, and she goes I'll pay for your tab and we just left. I was shaking so bad. I have never been in such a terrible situation. I will never ever support your brewery again or recommend them. If an establishment thinks it's ok for people to call other customers names, and use the R word in 2023 and let customers do what they want and not respect a simple request of keeping their dog away from mine I can never support that. I'm still in shock. Your management should do better. The other family should have been moved or asked to leave. I will always advocate for my dog's space. They are dogs, and it is my responsibility as their owner to create space for them and keep them safe in all situations. I spend so much time training my dogs to act respectful in public and lay on their mats and not bother anyone, and I shouldn't be berated asking someone else to do the same. I hope that this situation can help you train your staff on how to take care of situations like this better. Just do better.
