Cheesesteak with American Cheese and fries.
    Michael F.

Arrived at lunch time. Bartender was busting her butt with working the bar and a few tables, but remained extremely pleasant. I ordered a cheesesteak with American Cheese. It was so much better than my expectations. There was a lot of meat and the cheese was gooey throughout; just like I like them. Tons of beer options, including sours.

We stopped in here for a Wed night dinner. We decided to try one of their wood fired pizzas. This one was a pepperoni sausage with hot honey. The crust was fluffy and the sweetness from the honey was perfect balance with the salty meat. I wanted to take a look at the upstairs but didn't get a chance with my kids there.

We had a really good experience here this week. The beer was very good - my favorites were the commander salamander and braaaains (even though it's not pumpkin season). We ordered a side of fries and boneless wings (very fresh). The staff were wonderful and attentive. We had conversation with the bartender and even other guests, as we are part of the ale trail. They have an arcade upstairs which unfortunately we did not check out this time. We'll be back, so we'll check it out another time! Plenty of parking and an overall nice establishment!

I can't say enough wonderful things about Spring House! The day of my rehearsal dinner for my wedding, our original restaurant canceled on us an hour before. We called Spring House in a panic and they immediately jumped into action to help! We arrived to find a beautiful set up and even a personalized sign to help us feel celebrated! The food, atmosphere, drinks, and especially the staff were all FANTASTIC! So grateful for such wonderful service and they truly took what would have been a disaster and turned it into one of the best days ever! If you're looking for somewhere to have an event, hang with friends, or just go for a great time, THIS IS THE PLACE!

Our experience on a Saturday was sub par. We arrived around 7pm and were excited to try the food and drinks here. But we're disappointed with our experience. Being St. Patrick's weekend, they did play Iriah music but that was the extent of it. Didn't see any Irish specials on the menu. We were seated outside in front if the restaurant. Our server seemed very disinterested and disengaged. We ordered pizza, loaded nachos and chicken tenders. Pizza came burnt on the edges and soggy in the middle. Cheesesteak in the nachos was unseasoned and chicken tenders were double fried. Beer was ok. Server didn't seem to sell any specials. Overall, our experience was not good.

Cheese curses were yummy. Marinara was good too!

Service was great. We were immediately seated by the hostess and then Maddie gave us water and took drink orders within 2 minutes. It was a Sunday around noon and the first floor didn't get busier until closer to the 1pm football game. (There was probably around a dozen people there when we first arrived.) we liked the cheese curds and we also got the butchery platter which I thought was a bit expensive for what was served. He also didn't love the Cole slaw saying it didn't have enough flavor. He liked the bread on the platter and the traditional sauce was good. The atmosphere was good because it was pre-Eagles football so the noise level wasn't bad. It was easy to hear others talk! We did go upstairs to see the arcade area-very cute! Maddie was a great waitress...I always had water in my glass which is appreciated.

I was here recently meeting up with family for a celebratory lunch. Everywhere we called was full and Spring House was not, so we headed there. We always make an effort to be particularly friendly and gracious to servers and restaurant workers because we know others can be tough or inconsiderate- which was why the vibes from the staff here were a bit confounding. Both our server and the other person who worked our table weren't very friendly, never smiled or offered any glimpse of welcome to our party, so that was a bit uncomfortable. As far as the food it was fine. It was greasy but fine. However, I ordered bao buns w. Pork belly and as you can see from the photos it was definitely like a cracker with the smallest bite of pork belly imaginable. I did not care for it, especially at $17. You only get one bite of the meat and the whole thing is this overly greasy panini like bread / cracker. Not what most would expect for this order. I also asked the person taking care of our table for recommendations for one of their beers that would be comparable to yuengling or Stella since I'm not too up on ipas or what was on tap there and she did not have any recommendations. I would hope that at a brewing company they would have more insight and suggestions for honest, curious patrons. She just waited until I picked one. Our party did not care for the service and the family I met there said they don't plan on returning.

Service was great and friendly. We also got the soft pretzel not pictured because it was so good. We didn't get a chance to check out the upstairs but the downstairs was a nice volume setting.

Stopped in this afternoon with my daughter. We started by playing games up in Hell's Attic. The name fits because it's extremely hot with no air up there. Except for the heat it's got a nice handful of games to play, a pool table, air hockey table and a couple corn hole boards. After we were done we headed downstairs to eat. We split a pizza which tasted good and cooked decent. My only complaint is they put the pizza on a plate that dips down in the middle so most of the cheese slides down to the center. So when you grab a slice off the plate all the cheese slides right off. My daughter got a Shirley Temple and I tried a Daily Planet beer, beer was very good. My daughter was given a refill on her drink without asking which was perfectly fine, that should happen when you get a soda at an eatery but we were charged extra for it. Tons of merch for sale which all breweries should have. Picked up a pint glass to add to the collection. A nice dog friendly patio out front. Decent place, probably will come back but definitely not in the summer time.

Friendly staff and amazing options for vegetarians like me! I know it's a brewery - but the cocktails were good and strong too!

They stay true to their name with their decor. They were coffin shaped shelves, gothic/satanic themed wallpaper. It's all very well done. Very unique! One of the staff members came over to tell us that their beer and spirits are all from PA. This was music to our ears! We ordered a local IPA. We shared the Brussels Caesar salad. It had crispy brussels sprouts and arugula. Topped homemade crouton. Dusted with Parmesan. It was delicious! Loved this spot! Will go back the next time we're in town!

Coffin Bar is one of the more distinctive brunch spots in Lancaster, and it works better in…read moredaylight than I expected. The vibe leans goth, with a definite metal/punk edge rather than a tightly curated "theme bar" look. It's not as uniformly designed as the name might suggest, but it is interesting and cohesive enough to feel intentional. During brunch, the space is well-lit, and they keep the heavy metal/thrash/punk soundtrack going at a very low volume, exactly the right choice. It supports the aesthetic without turning brunch into a performance. The food is the reason to come. The menu is built around the seven deadly sins (Lust, Gluttony, Wrath, etc.), and everything we tried was outstanding. Between the two of us we had Lust and Gluttony, and both were excellent, high quality, well-executed, and clearly made with care. Service was solid: efficient, reasonably quick, and professional. Not overly chatty, but attentive enough that you don't feel ignored. Drinks were fine. The mimosa and Bloody Mary were exactly what you'd expect: competent and enjoyable, nothing gimmicky. Logistics are also manageable for a downtown spot. Parking exists in the area, including garages nearby, and it's a comfortable walk if you're already in the city center. Overall: a fun, slightly offbeat atmosphere paired with genuinely great brunch food. If you like a darker aesthetic but still want a bright, relaxed daytime meal, Coffin Bar is an easy recommendation.

This was my 2nd time coming to Mad Chef!…read more The first time I came here was about 2 years ago (before doing yelp reviews). I was not very impressed. This time around I cannot complain! Their specials are all revolving around the Masters which was unique! We tried the Pimento, Fried Green Tomato, Chicken Sandwich (The Pimento Birdie). This was a delicious sandwich that just screams Georgia! We also tried the Madfather Chicken Sandwich! Pesto, Vodka Sauce, Mozzarella, this thing was outstanding! The fries are always a highlight here! We got the bucket (had a bigger group) and it came with 3 sauces. 1 tiny little knock on the fry bucket....the entire bucket was not filled with fries. The bottom of the fry bucket had about an inch or 2 of crinkled up paper..... All of the food was outstanding. The beer was good. Tons of space and seating. Very easy ordering process. Go up to the counter, tell them your table number, and your food arrives shortly! Prices are high here! Expect a larger number on your check if consuming both food and alcohol!

Big Sigh... An attempt to create something good, unsual, but…read morenot only falls short in doing so, the inflated prices were enough for you to rethink your groceries for the week. Maybe what I smelled upon walking inside Mad Chef, were hops; I'm unsure. There was a lingering, unpleasant scent (hay/old peanut shells, an earthy staleness). When my food arrived, the scent dissipated. I purposely took a picture of the fish, on my fried fish sandwich, to illustrate what $17 and some change, looks like - very thin. The fish fry was tasty, slightly undercooked, soft crusted and soft bun, fresh condiments and those "pickles" were stellar. They were the best part of my meal. I would seriously purchase a jar of those pickles. Was wary of how hot honey would mesh with a pepperoni pizza, but surprisingly, the sweet heat and the savoriness of the pepperonis, worked well together. The only miss and it's a pretty big "miss," was the paper thin, tasteless crust, acting only as a vehicle to hold the toppings. Suggest you improve the crust and then, you'll have a stellar pie. Loved the peach bread pudding with brown sugar ice cream, but once again, for the price; the portion was skimpy. Liked the touch of homemade whipped cream, but it was overly whipped (stiff and tasteless), making it actually, impalatable.
