I wanted to like this place, but the experience fell short on multiple levels. We were seated quickly, but that was about the only efficient part of the visit. Our waitress checked on us roughly once every 20 minutes, which made the whole meal drag. After we finished our appetizers, she walked past our table at least three times without stopping to take our entrée order. The restaurant wasn't even busy--there were multiple staff members working--so the slow service felt especially avoidable. The food itself was just okay--solidly mid-tier for the area. Nothing stood out as particularly good or memorable, and certainly not worth the wait. If you're visiting town and looking for a good bar or pub, I'd honestly recommend skipping this one and heading to any of the other solid options nearby. They have much better service and food in the same price range. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. read more

Visited the Lititz location today with a friend. We had a pleasant server and enjoyed our beverages before the food came. That's where the visit took a turn. I ordered the Fire and Honey flatbread. A screen grab of the menu item and its description is included below. I am a careful restaurant goer as I have a tree nut allergy. I read menu items thoroughly. The item that was delivered was covered in walnuts. Nowhere did the description mention walnuts. Other menu options listed walnuts or other nuts explicitly. In fact, when I saw the "nut" icon, I assumed it referred to the pepitas as a precaution (though a seed and not a nut, it can still be an allergen). When this was brought to the attention of the server (who was helpful about it) and the manager... the manager's response was to blame me. She did not take the issue seriously or show the slightest concern. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A MEDICAL EMERGENCY. The lack of awareness of food allergens and her blatant don't-give-a-shit attitude was unacceptable. I even had to ASK her to have the item removed from my bill. Leaving a review in the hopes they don't harm someone with their menu omissions and apathy. Do better! Will not return. read more

Ap It was Friday and it was lent so we were on a meatless mission. Appachian brewing had all you can eat fish and chips so that's where we decided to go. Never in the world could I make "all you can eat" worth my while but that's not true of my brother and dad. The all you can eat fish was only $5 more so they dove right in. (Okay, that was at least a little bit punny, right?) A large piece of beer battered fish was served on a pile of super crisp fries and accompanied by some coleslaw and a cup of tartar sauce. The batter was crisp and not too thick. The available malt vinegar was a great added touch. The problem came when it was time to get the next round of fish. The guys waited and waited (and waited) and finally, since everyone else was long done with their meals, they just got it to go. I must give kudos to the GM. I sent him a comment on their website. He personally got back to me, apologized saying this should never have happened and he's making it right. I really appreciate that. My mom got the 'shroom quesadilla. Stuffed full of portobellos, spinach and cheese, it was a mess but a delicious mess. It was served with tricolor chips. My niece, the rebel, ordered a fried chicken sandwich. It was served with a pile of those crispy fries. She demolished it. There were plenty of beer choices and an interesting array of cocktails. Alas, I had water - my dad wouldn't let me drive his car if I had had a drink. (A parent never quits parenting). I saw a couple of burgers go by that looked darn good. I also saw some onion straws that would definitely be on my radar for my next visit. Speaking of the next visit, next time I'm in town I want to come back to give ABC another chance. Would never had known about this place if someone didn't suggest it. It's a few blocks off the main road in Lititz. We were a party of 8 adults and 7 kids. We had a long table almost in the middle. Great spot! Let me start with the wings. They are so good! The sauces were different and delicious! Appalachian Root Beer BBQ is a must try. Sweet & Smoky was perfect. Garlic Parmesan actually taste like garlic and parm. Chipotle was spicier than I expected so be warned if you don't do spicy :D PIEROGIES & BEER BRATS Grilled, Mountain Lager steeped bratwurst, cheese stuffed pierogies sautéed in garlic butter, topped with caramelized onions. Served with garlic mashed potatoes and Brewhaus mustard. - I didn't like the pierogies but others loved them. The brat and mash were delicious. I even liked the brewhaus mustard and I hate mustard lol AGAVE SWORDFISH Blackened Swordfish topped with an ABC Agave Mango Salsa. Served with a side of rice and vegetable du jour. - Let me start by saying I don't like swordfish because it is always dry and chewy/rubbery. This was so tender I thought I was eating another type of fish! This was a winner even with people who don't like fish. YURT Bourbon BBQ bacon, melted cheddar cheese and two fried onion rings, lettuce, tomato, pickle and Root Beer BBQ ranch.- Handdown the biggest winner of our party. I didn't try (trying to stay away from red meat) but everyone else did and loved it. NoBo STEAK SANDWICH Slow roasted prime rib, sliced thin and piled high on toasted Rustic Sour Dough. Topped with fried onion straws and a house made petal sauce. - This one did not win anyone. I didn't try, again avoiding red meat, but it looked dry... BACON-WRAPPED POPPERS Jalapeño peppers stuffed with a cream cheese blend, wrapped in bacon, with ranch for dipping. - Yummy! I guess anything with Bacon is good LOL Definitely had a good time and enjoyed the food and drinks. I don't drink so I had the housemade Ginger Beer and Root Beer. The food is always pretty good here. We've been coming here for a while and have had a chance to try a lot of the food and most of the beers. The beer is nothing to write home about and they have had a couple of good ones. My main issues lie with the bartenders. They obviously are not properly trained on sanitary issues as they consistently rinse used classes on the rinse station. Any time you get a nice clean glass it's rinsed on the same station that was rinsing the used glasses. That's pretty gross and very unsanitary. We observed this about a dozen times during our last visit. read more

We had a very nice takeout dinner from Appalachian Brewing Company. It is important to note that despite ordering for 12 people they got every single item right and didn't forget a thing. That's no small thing for a large takeout order from a busy place. We had the poutine, the chips with bleu cheese and balsamic, the cauliflower wings and the chicken wings to start. We also ordered one of the entree mac and cheese dishes as an appetizer to share. The only miss was the cauliflower which was kind of soggy and unexciting. But the chips were surprisingly interesting. The bite of the bleu cheese was nicely balanced by the sweet tartness of the balsamic glaze. The poutine was very good and the best part were the chicken wings. Pro-tip, get them "extra crispy", which they are happy to do, and you won't be disappointed. At $16 they aren't cheap, and it's an extra $1.50 for blue cheese dipping sauce, but worth it. For main dishes we had the handheld pulled pork which was very good, the Yurt burger, also very good, the blackened shrimp tacos which were good but didn't travel all that well. They were a bit soggy by the time we ate them and we were only about 5 minutes away. The shroomzilla quesadilla was good but could have used a bit more flavor. The kids got pulled pork sliders which they loved though the advertised "cheese and cracker plate" that is supposed to come with kids meals seems not to be included when you get it to go. Finally, we got a 6 pack of the Jolly Scot ale which was very nice. It had a trace of sweetness and a smooth malty flavor that was not bitter and was a hit with everyone. In reality I would probably give a 3.5 or 3.75 star review here but since they satisfied a big group with diverse tastes I bumped them up to a 4. I'd go back, try some different items, and ideally eat there rather than getting it to go. read more

Stopped on Mother's Day afternoon and was surprised that we could actually locate four seats at the bar because the place was obviously pretty busy and the wait for a table would've been 25 to 30 minutes. We all got IPAs that we enjoyed. The bartenders were very busy but still attended to us very well. My husband had the fish and chips and my brother and sister-in-law and I all had burgers. The mushroom Swiss burger was delicious. They also brew their own root beer and birch beer and orange cream soda. You can get six packs of the sodas or of the beers to go. They also have a side patio for outdoor seating, but it was not open yet for the season. Worth a look see if you're a beer drinker, but the food menu is decent too. read more

This is a fun brewery! I had been to ABC at its Harrisburg location almost 10 years ago and we stumbled upon this outpost while visiting Lititz around Christmas. We sat at the bar and the service was very good. The flight was very inexpensive and the beers were better than I remembered. We were meeting some family for dinner, so we didn't get any food, but it looked and smelled good and we would definitely stop in again for a meal. It's an easy walk from downtown Lititz as well and it was a nice place to visit! read more

We love this place, go here all the time, and has some of the best food/service in Lititz Borough! Some of our favorites: rockfish tacos, pork mango tacos, malt house salad (with blackened chicken), grilled chicken caesar, cali club quesadilla, fish and chips, hog wild, fried chicken power bowl, and of course the kiddo cheese plate! We like getting the mules (their ginger beer is awesome), many of the beers are good too (zombie, barleywine, light lagers, outta focus, and the Fridge Raider). read more

We both ordered their basic Harrisburger which were essentially INEDIBLE!!! While the burgers were nicely cooked, warm & moist... the "branded" buns were both dry, stale, wrinkled and refrigerator COLD. NOT exaggerating!! No way to compress the sandwich enuf to eat. We ended up bagging the burgers to eat at home later. Krazy!! Chips& fries were fine. Service (waitress) was average and she didn't really seem to care much when the issue was mentioned. I was thrilled years ago when Appalachian opened in Lititz. At the time I think it was the only brewery in town, and it was new and good. Over the years it's become a little worn and tired, and I don't just mean the physical space. The staff seems a bit jaded and less than interested. The food a bit less inspired. You get the picture. Still good, but unremarkable. A reliable stop for an ok burger or so so fish tacos if you just need a change from all the other great options around town and the larger area around Lititz. Would really like to see some energy injected into this place. Not necessarily a top to bottom redo, but just some "spice" injected into the food, atmosphere, and service. read more

Service is always great, food is decent (not the best though), but the acoustics and reverberation are awful. It's so hard to hold a conversation and focus with all the noise going on. They would really benefit from acoustical absorption panels on the ceiling. Too many hard surfaces from which the noice bounces off. I would really like to enjoy this space and food more but I'm losing hope. The ambience (minus the noise) is so nice. read more

The food was very reasonable and there were no complaints amongst the seven of us. Service was pretty good but had to ask for refills and water was apparently scarce. THE BRUSSEL SPROUTS ARE AMAZING! They're cut in half and sautéed, servers in Korean BBQ sauce and with real bacon bits. Good food in this restaurant. I especially enjoyed the beers available. Sit at the bar, I've never had good table service, just attitude.

This is more a brewpub/family restaurant than a brewery/tasting room. It's a fairly large place and there are wait times on weekends. We've been there twice, once just for beer and appetizers and once for a full lunch. The beer is very good, and the food is very good too - pretty typical American bar/grill fare, but done well and good quality. I'd say the food is better than most other places like this. The handmade tater tots (loosely shredded potatoes with bacon bits - almost like tiny potato pancakes) are our favorite. The wings are delicious. The service is a bit slow, but it's nice to just enjoy the atmosphere. It's loud and energetic in a good way. I'd like to go back maybe for dinner and try some of their heavier dishes (meatloaf with garlic bread and mashed potatoes, beer brats and pierogis). The IPA (one of many) and wheat ale were especially good, but most of the beers were very good. Try a flight! read more

Verdict: 3.5ish. Not a bad sandwich but that's no bánh mi. I'll get to the food but first, the beer. This is a brewing company after all. I've always found the beer here to be about average for a smaller brewery. They have their classics, like Water Gap Wheat and their rotating seasonals. I can't say the beer has changed much at all over the last 15+ years that I've had it. I've never been blown away but I'll enjoy one every now and again. The Chocolate Pumpkin Porter was on tap and I would get that one again. Pumpkin beers can be too much but this one had a nice balance of that and the chocolate. I wouldn't say that ABC is known for its food. The inside mimics a brewhaus and they could probably do well with some brats and pretzels. They went in a slightly different direction. The menu has variety, I'll give it that. I opted to try their latest Bánh Mi with sweet potato fries. I knew it wasn't going to be the real deal. (They didn't even use the right bread.) It was farther off than I expected. That's not to say this was a bad sandwich. It was okay. The plate was about average, much like all the food I've had at ABC. There are only so many places that offer food and drinks like this in Lititz. ABC isn't a bad option if you're in the area and looking for non-standard beers. I'd simply go elsewhere if I was looking for non-standard food. read more

Bridget gets 5 stars, because she was not only a wonderful waitress, but a caring and considerate person as well. If you do decide to dine here, do seek her out as your waitress. My hubs burger arrived to the table rare and he had ordered it medium. Over comes Reese (manager on duty), who questions how the burger was ordered (I'm thinking, he's thinking that we're trying to get something over on him). He questions how the burger was ordered. He reviews how the order was placed and then finally, agrees that it was indeed ordered medium and takes it back to the kitchen. I give Reese two stars for his reaction, but at least a new burger was made and correctly, the second time around. Of course, during that time - the hubby's meal were his fries and he's now, no longer hungry. My perogies were on the smallish side and a bit chewy, couldn't discern any cheese or garlic butter. The menu write-up was better than the product itself. Asked for one bratwurst and was informed that this couldn't be done. Hmm... was wanting to try it. Through our ups and downs, Bridget was a rock star - refilling our drinks, being understanding and nice. Did love that root beer though. You absolutely must get the root beer!! read more

Pricing is a little high for the amount and quality of food. Beers are good but I need to go back and get a flight. Reservations are recommended if they allow that. Staff are nice. the food is magnificent! I got there about 7:30pm on a Friday. was the only one at the bar. waited 10 minutes to get a menu and ask what I wanted to drink as the bartend was busy cleaning. they had wresting on tv , not the USC v Utah game. the person who brought my food couldn't wait to drop it off and scurry away without giving me utensils, condiments, etc. I ate my whole me without being asked if I wanted a second drink. great food, poor service. read more

Great food! Highly recommend the meatloaf. Great selection of brews. Service is exceptional! Would like to give a special shout out to Zac, Bridget and Katie for making our visits a wonderful experience. These folks go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome.
