    Pork Belly Bao Buns and
    Kelly S.

Large brewery with inside and outside seating! The food and drinks were great. I enjoyed the Pork Belly Bao Buns and Hot Elote Dip with chips. The beers are brewed with fun flavors. I enjoyed the passion fruit sour. They have a gift shop with merch and sell local art. We visited on a very hot day so even sitting inside was toasty. They have big fans to try to keep the place cool. It was crowded on a Thursday.

We stopped here on a Tuesday evening about a month ago on the return trip to Pittsburgh from New Jersey. At our beer distributor at home, they carry different Sorbettos from Ever Grain. We have always been fans of those, and thus wanted to visit the brewery since it was only a few hours away. We arrived around 9:40 PM, and online it said they closed at 10 PM. Despite this, we still decided to stop since we were only really looking for some beer to take home with us. The place was not packed, but there were several groups in there at the bar enjoying a drink and some socializing. I do not remember his name, but the gentleman working behind to bar was superb. He was kind, engaged in conversation, and had a great personality. He got us several samples to try while we were deciding what to purchase. It was fun to try some different things and the Sorbetto that they had on tap. They only had the Sorbetto 91 in the cans, so that is what we decided to get. Additionally, we purchased a t-shirt of the sale rack to commemorate our trip to the brewery. They had a good selection of branded merchandise to choose from. This would be a great place to come and hang out, enjoy some food and drinks, and gather with friends. They had a spacious indoor seating situation, a separate full bar area with additional tables, and outdoor seating. If we had not just come from eating dinner somewhere else, I would have wanted to enjoy a meal there. The vibes are great and seem to encourage hanging out and socializing. I would recommend stopping at Ever Grain if you are thinking about going. The facilities are great, they have an A+ staff, and their products are very good. Hope to be back in the future!

Fine brews, but note strict seating policy. Typically, we grab an open table after ordering a drink at the bar but here you will get ignored. Hostess is very nice though after I checked with her. Proceeded to order dessert and coffee. Very interesting menu. Cast iron strawberry cobbler is huge and good for at least two people. Coffee was good but unfortunately the cream was past expiry date. Today is 081525. I would recommend to stay at the bar, the brews are delicious, really enjoyed the Furbizia!

My wife ordered the Smashed burger with Tater tots and she added bacon to the burger. The burger was outstanding. I ordered the Fish and chips with Waffle fries. The fish was ok. The fish was too thin for my liking. We ordered the Beer battered broccoli for a starter and it was outstanding. We enjoyed everything about the restaurant.

We got here late...just in time for a drink or 2. Love their Sorbettos! Good service. Music was good and not too loud.

The short rib stroganoff was to die for and I swear it came out 2 mins after I ordered it. Hot & delicious comfort food yet it feels clean, not heavy at all. Cool bar and restaurant atmosphere with different spaces for different vibes. Nice outdoor seating area.

I really liked Ever Grain. I visited on a Wednesday for lunch and it was relatively empty. There are long tables all throughout and we had no trouble finding a table for 11. The outdoor space was so nice, it was a really hot day or else I would have grabbed a table outside. Service was quick and they have a kids menu, YAY! I ordered the smash burger with fries and a side salad. I also ordered the juicy hazy ipa. It was pretty good! My husband ordered the tacos and he really liked them. I will definitely be coming back when I'm in town again. Everything was reasonably priced.

Friday night : we stopped in for some dinner and drinks, a pon arrival we quickly noticed that the layout of the building is a little whacky. Very open concept however so you don't feel cramped at any point which is nice. The staff are all very friendly, The cocktails we ordered were made so wonderfully, balanced well and perfectly chilled. The beer battered cauliflower seriously didn't stand a chance! It's lightly battered which allows for the perfect crunch while also still enjoying the natural flavor of the veggie! There's an Asian inspired twist so the sauce is both spicy and sweet. There's burger and fries ( we're a burger and fries) nothing to rave about. But the Korean fried chicken bowl was delicious! The cabbage is fresh and sautéed just enough so that there's still a bit of crunch, the chicken is fried but still moist and the sticky rice just brings it all together. If you're in the area you won't regret stopping in.

Excellent! Great beer and food. 10 out of 10 recommend. Our waitress was amazing and offered suggestions as this was our first time here. This place has outdoor options for seating as well as inside. Very casual atmosphere!

Ever Grain Brewing has some very good beer, especially if you like hazy IPAs and sours. The food menu is quite good as well. We stop here often when we're in or passing through the area. Never had an issue with the service. And it has a nice vibe for a brewery.

Came back again because it was so good. This time I got the sorbetto sour and it was like drinking berry juice. It was so good I had to grab two 4-packs to come home with me! We all shared the nachos, Brie cheese, and wings. All really delicious. I also shared the BBQ chicken with a coworker and the chicken was so tender and flavorful and paired nicely with the kimchi and sticky rice. Definitely going to be a regular spot when I'm in the area.

Happened to be on the west side of the river and needed some lunch. This might be my favorite in that area! We went around 2pm on a Monday, so it was pretty empty. I'd imagine it gets loud when it's busier, but we didn't have a problem. It's setup with lots of bar seating & high top tables. Food was great! I was pleased at their selection and variety. We started with the bruschetta and drinks. Of course, their beers are great, but they also have a full bar which I enjoyed. I had the fish & chips ($22) as my entree. The aioli that came with it honestly may be one of the best condiments I've ever had. I am a big fan of acidity and citrus and it is the perfect malt vinegar and lemon blend that I used every bit of. I was so engrossed in mine I don't remember what my boyfriend got, but he thoroughly enjoyed his too. Our server was so kind and we felt welcomed, even at that weird time of day.

Lunch today with my wife was spectacular. We wanted to eat outside on what may be one of the few nice days left this season, and Ever Grain called to us. We had a great table in the warm sun, and a terrific server Allison. I first sampled their tap dark beers, and unfortunately not impressed. The nitro Quarry was unexceptional, and the Veneration was WAY too sweet. Then we got down to serious drinking with a Verdosa and a Zombie, both wonderful. We started eating with shared Korean BBQ wings, which are fine in a different sauce from the last time we had them but still delicious. The kimchi side was on the salty side, but nicely peppery. We both ordered the shrimp tacos, and we were very happy with our selection. Hats off to chef Ben! Allison was great server. Always happy to eat at Ever Grain!

Joy's Grill & Burger House became a Friday Night Date Night destination during my birthmonth after…read moreI spotted them on social media. I've driven by Joy's a million times and somehow never noticed it before. It's tucked into a busy strip mall and easy to miss if you're not specifically looking for it. Spoiler alert: you should be looking for it. My quest for the evening included both a burger and a chili dog, because they both looked amazing and I wanted the full Joy's experience. My adventure buddy and I arrived around 5pm and I was honestly surprised to see only one other person inside when we walked in. We grabbed a booth by the front door and looked over the menu again to finalize our plan. Since it was our first visit, we decided to order a few things and split them so we could try more. We ordered the loaded chili dog topped with chili, cheese, onions, and mustard ($5.25) and one of the Big Block Burgers -- specifically the Joy's Burger -- which came with grilled onions and mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, LA sauce, Swiss cheese, and fresh cut fries ($12.99). Naturally we added bacon for an extra $0.99 because that felt like the right decision. We also each grabbed a Diet Pepsi (to maintain some illusion of balance) for $2.50 each. Our total came to $25.69 before tip, which felt like a pretty solid deal for a two-person Friday night dinner adventure. The setup at Joy's has a classic old-school diner feel. The grill sits right behind the seating counter so you can watch your food being made, and they mix milkshakes right out front as well. The place is simple and no-frills -- and in my experience, those "keep it simple and do it well" places are often the real heavy hitters. The chili dog came out first, and the first thing I noticed was that this thing was HEAVY. This wasn't your typical skinny hot dog -- it was a full ¼-pound dog absolutely loaded with chili. The flavor reminded me of a Cincinnati-style chili dog and it was really good. The chili was flavorful instead of just decorative, the mustard and onions were balanced perfectly, and the bun did its job without getting in the way. As someone who takes chili dogs very seriously, I have to give Joy's credit for delivering a straightforward, perfectly executed chili dog. Next came the burger and fresh cut fries, and when I say this burger was big, I mean BIG. Two patties tall with all the toppings stacked high. We sliced it in half and immediately dug in. The bacon was perfectly crisp, the mushrooms and Swiss were generous, and the whole thing just tasted like a real, proper burger. Not a chain burger that started life frozen and tastes like it could have been reheated in my microwave at home. This was the kind of burger you picture when you say you're craving a burger. The fries were exactly what you want from fresh-cut fries -- the smaller ones nice and crispy, and the bigger ones crispy on the outside with that soft, fluffy inside. Splitting the chili dog and burger turned out to be the right call. It would have been easy to eat everything solo, but my stomach probably would not have forgiven me later. Our server was super friendly and attentive throughout the visit. While we were there, a few more people came in to eat, but overall it felt relaxed and easy for a Friday evening. Parking is free since Joy's sits in a strip mall, but it can be a little tight because there are several other popular businesses nearby. We were able to find a spot without trouble, but I could see it getting tricky during busier times. If you're looking for solid burgers, legit chili dogs, and an old-school diner vibe, Joy's Grill & Burger House is absolutely worth seeking out -- especially if you're like me and always on the lookout for your next great burger or chili dog adventure.

The only real question: Would Big Ray's chili dog treat me kindly? (Important considerations were made.) We arrived around 5:30pm on a chilly January Friday and quickly realized we were not alone in this brilliant decision. The dining room was already about ¾ full, which I take as an excellent sign when evaluating burger-and-dog establishments. After a quick menu scan, I locked in my order: a ¼-lb beef hot dog with chili, mustard, and onions ($4.99) plus a Diet Pepsi (because balance). Adventure Buddy went all in with the Honey Butter Chicken Club ($8.59) and an order of fried pickles ($4.99), washed down with an orange Fanta. Total damage? Under $27. Date night win already. The food came out fast and piping hot, which is exactly what you want when you're this hungry. My chili dog immediately delivered--solid flavor, generous chili, and most importantly, the hot dog was grilled, giving it that slight snap that separates the pros from the amateurs. No soggy sadness here. Adventure Buddy's chicken sandwich was also a standout. This was a legit chunk of chicken breast, not a sad, thin patty pretending to be something it's not. Crispy, juicy, and the honey butter added just the right touch of sweetness without crossing into dessert territory. The fried pickles were thick-cut, crunchy, and exactly what fried pickles should be--dangerously snackable. All around, Big Ray's absolutely delivered. Solid food, quick service, great value, and the kind of place you immediately add to your "easy yes" rotation for burgers, dogs, and sandwiches. I'll definitely be back--especially once the weather warms up and that front patio becomes fair game.

We decided to take a drive in search of something tasty, and our adventure led us to Brewhouse Grill in Camp Hill, PA. From the outside, it looked like a small neighborhood bar. But once we stepped inside, the vibe completely changed. Bright lights, a welcoming atmosphere, and a lively bar area. The hostess greeted us right away, which was a relief since my hunger was hitting hard. We checked out the specials and ordered two classics: a flatbread pizza and a Philadelphia cheesesteak. As an Eagles fan, I couldn't resist testing how a Harrisburg area cheesesteak stacked up against Philly's best. And if you know me, you know I take pizza seriously think ninja turtle levels of dedication.‍ The pizza came out crisp and well-done, but the cheese was a bit skimpy, leaving me wanting more. The cheesesteak, unfortunately, didn't quite hit the mark either. Luckily, a cold beer and the friendly staff helped balance out the disappointment. What impressed me most was the atmosphere. Immediate must-try status. I hatched a plan to visit on a chilly January Friday night, knowing they'd recently been selling out of items before their posted 7pm closing time. The target: 5:30pm. Risky enough to feel exciting, early enough to still secure smoked meat. A calculated move. Get Smok'd is located in a strip mall, and when I arrived, most of the front parking spots were full. Brief "oh no" moment...then I snagged a spot from someone pulling out and hustled inside. The dining room was much more spacious than it looked from outside, though many tables were already filled. I stepped up to the counter fully prepared--having studied both the menu and their social media all week in belly-growling anticipation. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with street corn and a fountain soda. Adventure Buddy went with the Lamb Gyro special, coleslaw, and a soda. Total for dinner came in around $40, which felt very reasonable for the amount of food. We timed it perfectly. About 10 minutes after we arrived, a large party of ~20 people walked in and filled a reserved table. More folks followed right behind them and suddenly the place was packed, buzzing, and running low on seats. Lamb Gyro: Fantastic. The smoke really came through on the lamb, and the tzatziki was super cucumber-forward, which Adventure Buddy loved. It was also a generous portion for the price--always appreciated. Street Corn: First off, the presentation was on point. The husk flared out like a little sunburst--very eye-catching. The cook on the corn was perfect, seasoning was just right, and the ear itself was a great size. Goldilocks corn. Coleslaw: This one missed the mark for us. The cabbage itself was fine, but the dressing was very bland and there was a lot of it--bordering on cold coleslaw soup territory. Not our thing, though it might work for some. Pulled Pork Sandwich: The pulled pork? Fabulous. Moist, juicy, perfectly smoky. I paired it with the Lawd That's Good traditional sweet sauce and ate every last bite of the meat. The roll, however, didn't live up to the pork--it felt like an odd mismatch. I skipped the bread and focused on the star of the show. Peanut Butter Pie: I...was not prepared. I did not expect a smoked meat joint to casually deliver one of the best peanut butter desserts I've had in a long time. This isn't a slice--this is a personal peanut butter pie. I'd guess 5-6 inches wide, about 1.5 inches thick, served in its own tin and piled high with whipped cream. This wasn't dessert--this was an entire second meal. At $10, it was worth every single penny, and I seriously debated ordering another. I will absolutely be back just for this pie. Overall, Get Smok'd BBQ earns a solid 5 stars from both me and Adventure Buddy. Friendly staff who checked in, meat smoked to perfection, and a peanut butter pie that completely stole the show. Good lawd! PRO TIP: If you're planning to visit later in the day, check Get Smok'd on social media first. They sell out. Early. Often. Don't waste a trip just to find locked doors and shattered BBQ dreams. This place is hot right now--and very much worth the visit if there's still smoked meat left to be had!

I had the double Patty smash burger with bacon and it was one of the best burgers I have had. There was also some homemade pickle Chips that were delicious. We split a PB pie. I hope they do coconut pie at some point. My only critique is the burger (all sandwiches) should come with potato chips. Or fries but I am thinking they don't have a fryer there. I didn't mind the price of the burger but the sides were too expensive for me to add. I just wanted something more with that burger. If that burger had Chips would be 5 stars. Highly recommend this place. I look forward to eating there again.

I've passed Watershed Pub a million times and never stopped, so when I met a friend for lunch, it…read morefinally felt like the right time to check it out. Naturally, I had already done my due diligence (read: stalked the menu for a full week) and had a game plan. At the top of my list? The deviled eggs and the Kale Caesar salad with salmon. The only problem...I absolutely did not need $40 worth of food for lunch. So I quietly spent the week putting "deviled egg energy" out into the Universe, hoping my lunch partner would suggest splitting them. Manifestation is real, people. I arrived around 12pm and found plenty of parking out back in Watershed's designated lot, which is clearly labeled--a good thing, because parking in that area looks like it could get competitive if you're not paying attention. We had made a 12:15pm reservation (Monday lunch felt safe, but why risk it?), and our table on the enclosed patio was ready when we arrived. It was the perfect setup--sunny and bright, but still warm enough to be comfortable on a chilly day. The vibe was great, and our server was even better--friendly, attentive, and consistently checking in without being overbearing. Then it was time to order. I let my lunch partner go first and waited... "Do you want to try the deviled eggs as an appetizer?" Are you kidding me?!. YES. Yes, I did! We ordered the deviled eggs ($11) to share, and I followed through with my Kale Caesar salad ($15) topped with seared salmon (+$13), officially completing my week-long menu-stalking mission. The deviled eggs came out FAST, and in my excitement, I completely forgot to take a picture--which tells you everything you need to know. Each egg was topped with a cube of candied bacon that absolutely stole the show. Sweet, savory, and just the right texture to complement the creamy filling. We made quick work of all four--excellent start to the meal! Not long after, our lunches arrived, and my salad? Gorgeous. Like, actually exciting to look at. I dug in immediately and it delivered. The mix of shaved brussels sprouts, kale, and romaine gave it great texture, the dressing was well-balanced, and the red onion didn't overpower the rest of the flavors. But my favorite part? The garlic parmesan crouton crumble. No chasing rogue croutons around the plate--just perfectly distributed crunch in every bite. Genius! The portion size was generous, too--I made it through about half before calling it and boxing the rest for dinner later. By the time we were wrapping up, the enclosed patio had filled up significantly, which tells me this is a popular lunch spot--and for good reason. The food is solid, the atmosphere is great, and the service was spot on. That said...$40 for deviled eggs, a salad and water is a bit steep for an everyday lunch. For me, this feels more like a "treat yourself," client meeting, or special occasion kind of place rather than a regular rotation spot. Would I come back? Absolutely. Would I be casually popping in every week? Probably not. But those deviled eggs? Totally worth manifesting!

It's been 12 years since I last went to the Jackson House, and finally getting back there felt like…read morestepping into a completely different life. New me, new experience. like not a single cell from back then made the trip with me. We pull up, deal with Harrisburg parking (a whole separate scam I won't get into today), and walk into this little hole-in-the-wall lunch spot that closes at 2. That alone explains why it's been over a decade. But the second you step inside, it hits you this place has an aura. Straight New York-Philly energy. Metro signs everywhere, burger memorabilia, cheesesteak philosophy on the walls, Italian pride, city pride, just buku love, buku vibes. You order in a separate little room that feels like a classic bodega. Glass cooler with lunch meats, tiny soda setup, 50-cent refills, vanilla and cherry add-ons if you're feeling fancy. Cash only. No exceptions. We actually had to leave and hit an ATM because my roommate forgot. That's the kind of place this is. Feels like there's no internet in there. Like they might still be running a ham radio in the back. The guys working there? Straight 1970s New York swagger. You can tell this place has not changed since the day it opened, and that's exactly the point. And the wait, yeah, you're waiting. 20 minutes easy. But that's part of it. That's Staves of all the instant gratification and doom scrolling. It sets you back to a forgotten time. Then the burger comes out. This ain't no smash burger. This ain't no little quarter-pound situation. This is a big, meaty, juicy, chewy, greasy, gooey pound of flesh. And yeah, keep all of that. I'm staring at it for 30 seconds, salivating, practically full just looking at it. I finally put the bun on and go at it jerking my head around like a dog playing tug of war (making the most carnivorous, bestial sounds) I got the Jackson burger, lettuce, tomato, J-sauce. I need my J-sauce. And it hits and for a brief moment there is no worry in the world. This isn't a place you go every week unless you're trying to test your mortality. But when you go, you go all the way: 22-ounce Coca-Cola, burger, fries. No half measures. And the crowd? Office guys in suits on their lunch break. Capitol crowd. That's the vibe. I'm never in that world, so stepping into it felt like being dropped into a different city entirely--honestly felt like a Manhattan Lunch Break. The burger itself? Timeless. Not chasing trends, not trying to be Shake Shack, not Five Guys. This is some old-school, 1950s, Back to the Future-type energy. I half expected Marty McFly and Doc to walk in, get em one. Only surprise? No shakes. Feels like they should have shakes. They don't do fries with that shake. Now the one knock: the fries. Flavor? Perfection, hand cut boardwalk style fries. But I got a lot of little end pieces, now that's straight up disrespectful to me, how you gonna treat me like that?. I don't want to dig through little nubs to find actual fries. That's where I gotta be honest, dock a point. Overall though? Food: elite Experience: unmatched Vibe: 5/5 Conclusion - 4/5 (fix those bum-ass fries.)

This is a small restaurant near midtown that one might just pass by without a second thought. Don't do that. While small, we were able to find a table.
