This unassuming gem of a pretzel factory has been around since '83 and offers freshly-baked, handmade pretzels that come in a variety of flavors (regular, extra salt, reduced sodium, extra dark versions, whole wheat options, low protein, as well as flavored (garlic and sesame)). They're all certified Kosher, too! When the hubs and I knew we were going to be in the area, we made sure to call ahead to make an appointment to take one of their free tours. Our tour guide was Ms. Vera, and she was super informative and sooo sweet! We got to see the making of the dough, how it was kneaded by the machines, how each pretzels were all made by hand (super impressive!), how they were put in the oven and baked, and then saw how the pretzels were seasoned and packaged in the bag. We also had the chance to try a hot-out-of-the-oven extra dark pretzel - super crunchy, but a little too 'burnt' for me, but it would be super delicious dipped in hot spicy mustard or some type of cheese! The hubs and I bought a bag of extra salted pretzels and the garlic, so can't wait to dig in! Just note that this is a true pretzel factory, very no-nonsense, and even the sign is hard to miss. However, once you find it, you'll have an educational time. The managers and the employees were all super welcoming and super friendly :D +free pretzel factory tour :D +handmade pretzels! :D +plenty of parking in private lot

I figured the best way to help him was to get first hand experience of the tour, so I booked a Friday afternoon tour for my team. Can I just say what an awesome time we had? We are all fairly local folks but we learned so much and ate amazing food. I appreciate the level of service Zachary provided including helping to fit this in my budget. All communication was prompt and easy to understand. The payment process was simple. Instructions for where to meet and questions about food allergies or other issues were appreciated. Even in the rain, this was just so much fun. We started at the Maryland Center for History and Culture. As a museum junkie, I loved that we started with a quick tour through Baltimore history! And we got to pop into the Jim Henson exhibit. They have the Labyrinth Dress!! After that we started walking. Did you know the Ouija board was created in Baltimore?? I did not. We walked into the Enoch Pratt Library and poked our head into the Peabody. And we did a quick tour of the Washington Monument. I did not know you could go inside it for free. The food part was even better! Started at Tio Pepe's which was delicious and such a cool building. After more walking we stopped that Helmund for more food. Our final stop was at Topside for a cocktail and dessert. Zero complaints. I've been telling folks about this experience because it was so much fun. I look forward to doing the other tours.

Second- Donna Ann was fantastic- LOVED her- her energy and sense of humor were infectious. The tour was a nice mix of food and history and a great way to spend an afternoon if you're in Baltimore! You definitely won't need to eat dinner after going on this tour - it's a good amount of food.

You also get to come in for free the last two hours before closing the day before your ticket, , to give you a preview. Also, In town, is a Hershey Museum, that goes into the history of Milton Hershey in more detail. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to see it. At the center of it all, is Hershey's chocolate world. (separate review.) that has a lot of different activities, as well as lots of shopping. All except for one of the activities costs, so I decided to just do the trolley tour. The price of the trolley tour is reasonable. It's the same price for all ages, but they do offer military/veteran discounts. The trolley tour was lots of fun. It takes you throughout the town of Hershey, they tell you about the story of Milton Hershey, and you get to see different spots that are part of the Milton Hershey Legacy. It takes you past the Hershey mansion, which he built in 1906, for only roughly $50,000, not including landscaping or furnishings. Imagine that in today's money... It's a pretty little town, and there is just so much to see. The narration can get a little "hokey", but I'm not complaining, as it's "hokey" in a fun way. Plus, there's free chocolate! Mr. Hershey was a philanthropist, who believed in giving back to his community. He founded the Milton Hershey school, which continues to this day. It's for children 4 through 15, from low income families, and it is all free of charge. This is a short biography of Mr. Hershey, as well as more information about the school. https://www.mhskids.org/about/history/milton-s-hershey/ The tour is a lot of fun, and you will definitely learn a bit. Our guide was so insightful and so funny - we spent a lot of time laughing, learning, and enjoying our 90 minute tour of Hershey, PA. Cannot recommend this tour enough - it really was so well developed and so well done, and while it's a bit pricey, it's worth every penny to gain a newfound appreciation for all of Milton Hershey's work and legacy.

However, this experience went beyond my expectations. We did the 8:30-11:30 tour, and was grouped with about 10 other people. The locations are large, and there was enough space for individual investigation at each location. I actually found the most incredible evidence when we investigated as a group by asking questions together using a spirit box. Clinton, our guide, was genial & knowledgable. The locations to drive to were not too far, and driving in the dark was a lot of fun! We were given a run down of all the devices we could use, and I had no issues wanting to use whatever equipment I wanted at the locations despite there being many people. I would definitely book again with this company. Well worth the money for three hours, and able to go to locations with so much history we wouldn't have otherwise known about.

To respond to reviews posted over nine months ago by accusing honest reviewers of being "competitors" and implying that we didn't take the tour because she can't find our names in her tour list FROM OVER NINE MONTHS AGO is ridiculous, immature, and unprofessional. If you read almost any review that gives less than 5 stars, there are accusations from the manager of us not being actual customers. I encourage everyone to read those responses and decide if this is a business you truly want to support. To prove I was on the tour, SPOILER ALERT, the "Brooke" entity is at the Eisenhower Bridge and was supposedly murdered, according to Clinton - although, research found no documentation of this incident. Also, if the company has exclusive access to 54 acres that are next to the battlefield, then why did we set up on a picnic table under the shelter just to listen to ghost stories? We were only permitted to walk around the trail that borders the dog park and I assure you, that area was NOT 54 acres.

When my adventure buddy casually asked, "Hey...do you want to ride The Pride of the Susquehanna on…read moreSunday?" my first response, surprisingly, wasn't "YES!" like it usually is. It was..."WAIT...THAT THING STILL FLOATS?!" I distinctly remember riding The Pride of the Susquehanna probably 30 years ago on a school field trip, but somewhere along the way I guess I just assumed it had quietly retired into the history books. Nope. She's still cruising the Susquehanna! And I was WAY more excited about that than a 40-something-year-old probably should have been! My adventure buddy grabbed our tickets ahead of time through the website for $20 per adult and we picked the 2:00 p.m. sightseeing cruise. The Pride offers a variety of cruises throughout the season, from narrated sightseeing trips to specialty cruises and private charters, making it a pretty unique ways to experience the Susquehanna River. We arrived a few minutes before departure, checked in quickly, and walked aboard. Instant nostalgia! It was exactly how I remembered it! Downstairs featured the same warm, dark wood interior with a bar, while upstairs offered the open-air deck where you can sit back, relax and enjoy some beautiful views as the only authentic stern-driven paddlewheel riverboat operating on the Susquehanna makes its way upriver before turning around for the return trip. Naturally, we made a quick stop at the bar before heading upstairs. Two beers and a bottle of water came to around $12, and with drinks in hand we settled in to enjoy the sunshine. Was this the most thrilling boat excursion you'll ever take? No. Absolutely not. You're not racing through rapids or spotting whales. You're simply enjoying a peaceful 45-minute cruise along one of Central Pennsylvania's most recognizable rivers. And honestly...that's kind of the point. The breeze coming off the water, the sunshine, the familiar skyline of Harrisburg and the gentle rhythm of the paddlewheel made for a wonderfully relaxing Sunday afternoon. Sometimes slowing down for 45 minutes is exactly what you need. Parking on City Island is plentiful and free, and the dock is conveniently located near the baseball stadium, exactly where I remembered it from all those years ago! One bonus tip...if you're looking to stretch your afternoon into an even bigger adventure, the Harrisburg Beach Club is just a short walk down City Island after your cruise. It makes the perfect follow-up stop for food, drinks, live music and soaking up a little more sunshine. The Pride of the Susquehanna may not be the flashiest attraction around, but it's one of those classic Central PA experiences that somehow manages to stay charming decade after decade. I'm really glad it's still floating. And I'm even happier that I finally climbed back aboard!
